Which Head Units have a rear input for CAN Bus Decoder? - MTCB Android Head Units General

My car is a Mazda CX5 2015 (with dumb radio, not the newer one with a smart unit), and I would like to install an Android Head Unit, but I would luke that it includes an input for a CAN Bus Decoder, like this one:

Does anybody know of Generic Head Units with this input?

Old thread, but... The steering wheel controls on the CX-5 uses a resistor ladder and not canbus. Most other stuff can be had from an ODB2 adapter.
If you have the Bose system, the controls for it are indeed canbus.

[Q] Compatible Car Head Units

Are there any compatible car head units?
I'm looking for USB audio out (using DAC, not as usb memory) and control over the phone (next track, prev track, pause, play). Showing media info on the head unit's display is a plus. I've seen that JVC does not support HTC One which is strange but I don't have info about the other brands. What's your experience?

Bluetooth to car: no streaming program info

Hi folks,
Settling in with the 3T. Encountered another small but annoying issue: I'm paired with my car Bluetooth. Usually when I stream a program the program metadata display on the car head unit. Program name, song title, length of show... But not with this phone. I've enabled all options but the data never show up on the head unit.
Any fix for this?
If I get a call, the caller name does show up.
Car is a 2015 Toyota Highlander. Standard Toyota head unit.
Thanks

I think it's some incompatibility with your particular car's stereo head unit. Lots of different BT hardware combinations are possible, and they don't always play together well.
The metadata shows fine on my Subaru head unit (made by Kenwood, from what I understand).

using bluetooth to connect steering wheel control to tablet

Hello guys,
I have already installed an android tablet to my car (VW Golf VI). The headphone-jack sends the music to an external apmlifier in the trunk and the tablet is charged via usb. everything works really really good so far, the only missing part of the project is the streering wheel control. Do you have any solution to connect the tablet via bluetooth to the board canbus of the car, so that I can use the volume-buttons to control volume and select next/previous song? I would like to prefer a pre-confectioned cable like
https://www.amazon.de/Bluetooth-Aud...6150056&sr=8-2&keywords=vw+bluetooth+quadlock
or something similar, I do not want to code something.
do you have any solution for this idea?

Kai

That, or similar bluetooth-canbus interfaces.
If you're lucky, your car may only have one CAN bus, then you can just plug the dongle into the OBD2 port under the dash. If the steering wheel commands are on a separate CAN bus, then you may need to do some custom wiring to attach it.

*I have not used or tested this, so I can't vouch for how well it works!

Advice on Connecting Steering Wheel Control Wires to Android 2 Din 8.1 Go Radio

Hi, I was told by Banggood that SWC was simple just connect Key 1 and Key 2 on the wiring harness to the SWC output wires (3) on the Honda HRV 2015. Is this possible or do I need to purchase an interface controller for the aftermarket Radio?

Budget alternative HU with Android Auto

There are budget 7-10 inch HUs with wired Android Auto (+ Carplay) that can be bought for around $100! The whole Stereo unit for similar price of Carplay dongle!
Using "Sunplus" OS. Propriety chip inside it.
These can be had with FM and AM radio, programmable SWC control (resistive suit Jap car etc.), an IR remote control, backup camera etc, attractive graphics, gutsy amp inbuilt, MP5 video and audio, BT.
I tried one, bought 2 more for my other cars. Performance is impressive. Unit is attractive, appears stable in operation.
Cannot add apps to unit-it is straightforward otherwise. All the extra smarts are on your phone when you connect it! Just plug it in.
Cheers!
