[CyanogenMod] [Moto X] Accidentally installed SuperUser, and disabled root access. - SuperSU

Accidentally installed SuperUser, and disabled root access. Am I beyond repair?
Latest version Cyanogenmod 13. Moto X 2014
Background:
Today, I tried installing SuperSU using this method. Apparently it's only for LG devices, so it didn't work for me. I bootlooped.
Then, I tried uninstalling it using this script. It uninstalled most of it, and fixed the bootloop, but more problems arose. Now I don't have root access on my phone anymore. I try changing my root access settings, but nothing changes. I figure this is because the script didn't fully uninstall SuperSU, so SuperSU is still my root controller.
I did more researching on fully uninstalling SuperSU, and came across this thread. I thought the reply said installing this would remove SuperSU, but I was wrong. I installed it, and now I have superuser installed on here as well.
I can't seem to find any way to remove superuser (or SuperSU). When I go into recovery (the only way I can get root access) and remove all superuser-related files, I reboot and find everything has been reinstalled. Another way I can get root access is through ADB. When I try removing superuser through ADB it appears to work, but when I reboot everything has reappeared.
My actual question: How can I uninstall superSU and superuser and get root access back?
I've made a terrible mistake. I really regret trying to install SuperSU, and then accidentally installing superuser. Things were working okay before, I just wanted to use some SuperSU-specific apps.
What should I do? I don't have a copy of my system.img, only a copy of boot.img. Do I just need to reinstalled CyanogenMod? Or is there a way to uninstall superuser and SuperSU and regain root access.
Edit: As I was preparing to reinstall CM, I thought I should update first, so that the reinstall would go more smoothly. I updating to the latest nightly (I was one night behind), and lo-and-behold, it fixed EVERYTHING! It automatically removed superuser, and my root access works again! I am completely content now. Still, if anybody can show me how to get SuperSU to WORK that would be greatly appreciated. But I'm not sure I want to risk it.

[Q] HELP Root access fail / nor root access

Hello All,
I am newbie here.
A little bit of background.
I did unclock thru HTCDEV, rooted with superSU via ADB, then run with STOCK ROM until recently flashed with ARHD 52 ROM, did clean wipe both thru TWRP and then in AROMA. I selected "superuser" during Aroma process.
everything gone well, phone worked fine for few days. OK with sense tool box.
but after I opened Xposed installer, I rebooted it, i went on boot loop, then I tried go into recovery flash the xposed disabler, it still boot loop.
So I did a system restore, managed to get back to phone. How ever i lost the root access.
when i open titanium backup /sense toolbox/ xposed installer it says "NO ROOT ACCESS" ROOT ACCESS FAIL"
What have I done wrong? what should I do to fix this?
any help would be much appreciated.
thanks

LG G3, No supersu binary installed..

I'm using LG G3 D858HK, Dual Sim., Android 5.0.1 (i updated it after i rooted it). I rooted it through my computer, hence it's under a system application and cannot be uninstalled through the play store. After i updated it, many of my apps (that requires rooting) couldn't be used. Error message was no SuperSu binary installed. So i decided to unroot my phone, and i couldn't even open the SuperSu app! It says, "There is no SuperSu Binary installed and Supersu couldn't install it, that's the problem! If you updated to 5.0.1, please consult the relevant forums!". I couldn't get into recovery mode as well, i used third-party apps, and they requested for root access. I tried to reboot it into recovery mode by using the buttons and it ended up factory resetting my phone.
Any suggestions?
Oh yes, and i couldn't find the stock firmware for my model as well, hence i couldn't downgrade it, any tips?

hi running RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_TMUS_MR_TMOUS_3.39.531.7 supersu to system

Hi, just installed RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_TMUS_MR_TMOUS_3.39.531.7.exe. I want to install supersu to system. I would like it to stick after a factory reset, so not systemless root. Is there anyone that can tell me the combination of supersu version to use and the proper twrp to use, because I am trying different combos, and when the phone reboots, it's stuck at android, and furthermore, if I have twrp installed, can some one tell me how to install supersu manually, like where to put each file from the supersu apk and set permissions, this way is fine as well.

snapchat fail login after root?

Hey everybody I rooted my device this morning, and I was setting everything up again since it gets wiped during the process. So finally I come and try to login in to Snapchat and it says something similar to "log in has failed please try again later" anybody have this problem or a way to fix it? Thanks in advance!
Snapchat checks for root and purposely prevents you from logging in if it find it. If you rooted with SuperSU, try installing Chainfire's SUHide. Otherwise, if you rooted with Magisk, enable MagiskHide in Magisk Manager.
I usually unroot with SU and login while unrooted, then flash whatever SU zip used to root again. It should work and you'll stay logged in.

OMG thank you so much that was so easy!!!!
magisk is better though because you can still use android pay and mobile banking applications.
If I throw on a custom ROM after wiping will I need to do this process again?
Yes. Unless the custom ROM has built-in root, you will have to flash SuperSU or Magisk every time you flash a ROM (including updating the same ROM to a newer version). Flashing a ROM replaces the files required for root in the /system or /boot partition.

I shouldnt brick if i have to loose root and reflash super SU when I'm running a rom right? Sorry for all the questions
Suddenly losing root without a reasonable explanation would be a cause for concern and should merit further investigation.
However, simply flashing SuperSU after flashing a ROM (dirty or clean flash) shouldn't cause any issues.

Yeah cos I would need to flash the ROM, then sign in to Snapchat, then go back to TWRP and flash super SU
Honestly, I would just recommend you to use Magisk to root. You can have it hide both root and itself from apps like Snapchat. Better yet, since Magisk Manager is not a system app, it will survive updates through dirty flashes. This means that after the initial set up, any time you dirty flash a ROM and then Magisk immediately afterwards, root is already set up and hidden from Snapchat the first time you boot up.
Also, be careful with flashing a ROM without rooting immediately. ROMs like OOS will either replace TWRP with stock recovery or trigger dm-verity if you don't root immediately after clean flashing.

So I just have to download magisk manager and it should re-do everything for me if I understand correctly right?

You will have to remove all traces of SuperSU before flashing Magisk. If Magisk detects systemless SuperSU already present on your phone, it won't root it with its own method (and therefore cannot hide root from other apps). The easiest way to install Magisk over SuperSU is just to dirty flash your current ROM and then immediately flash Magisk v11.1 (don't forget to wipe cache/dalvik). After you boot, you will have to install the Magisk Manager app from the playstore if the Magisk.zip didn't already do so automatically. Then enable Magisk Hide and reboot your phone. Root should be hidden now. You will have to regrant root permissions for all of your root apps.

I'm on stock ROM, so I guess I can go into super su and loose root then download magisk and get it that way
Thanks mate, it took forever to find this solution, it worked!
I use SU and it was simple to "unroot" from within the SU# app
1. settings scroll down to the "cleanup" section, select full unroot, accept all the warning messages, the phone will reboot into recovery and then reboot the phone after it finishes. Your phone may cycle through the reboot process a couple of times
2. log back into your phone, then you can log into the Snapchat app.
3. now you can re-root your phone, if you want to.
Cheers.

SuperSU binaries occupied

I have a LG 410g, I used kingroot to root the phone, then used rootchecker and it said that the root was successful, so I installed superSU, but the latest version (2.82) gives the "binaries occupied" error. I rolled back to version 2.79 and tried downloading the binaries but it always fails, and the phone's recovery mode only has one option to factory reset, so i can't install the binaries that way. I've been looking for a solution for this all day but nothing seems to work.
You'll probably have to remove Kingroot first. No, I've no idea how... You're going to have to put your Google-fu to the test.
