Are these battery starts unusual? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'll keep it short, Marshmallow update has battery draining rapidly. I removed a ton of apps and dogs a number of batter saving features I read here and other places. Battery still drains around 8%-10% an hour when idle. Saw battery starts last night and Bluetooth is the worst offender. This makes no sense, it wasn't connected to anything. Next Steps I should take? One picture is the batter graph the other is a village of stats from the top 2 drainers.

Try to reset your phone, and if that doesn't work then re-flash the firmware, personally for me the battery life is much better than Lollipop, getting 4.5h of SoT,sometimes 5h

I have also found that MM is draining my battery heaps, I am currently backing up my phone ready to flash a 5.0 prerooted zip, since Lollipop had a much better battery life in my oppinion

Time for new battery?

Hey guys, I have a weird issue. Regardless what ROM I am on, my battery percentage will randomly drop like 10%
Randomly, I will be using it, I'll be at 70%, then it will just drop to 60%, normal use. Been happening a lot more recently.
Is this a sign of a battery going bad? I've had this phone roughly a year (Stock battery).
Thanks!
What does your battery life look like? A battery's performance WILL degrade over time, but if your battery life is still good enough for you, I don't see any harm in continuing to use it.
You could get an app like Battery Monitor Widget. It will keep track of usage and calculate the health of the battery. You can also try wiping battery stats (the app can do that too), it could just be the phone mis-reading the battery...

Battery life drops from around 40% to 15% super quickly for no reason

I got a full stock N7 16GB 4.2 OTA which I'm not planning to root or flash (that's what my One X is for =P).
I noticed that quite often if I leave my N7 for a night with about 40% battery life, in the morning it will fully shut down with about 14% battery life remaining. Checking battery usage I see a sharp, almost vertical drop. Something's destroying battery when it gets about half way.
Anybody else had this issue?

Try and fully discharge and charge it a couple of times. The battery may be poorly calibrated. U can use a battery drainer if you are impatient. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=battery+drainer&c=apps

I don't know which update it was put in but it seems Google have added something that shuts down the N7 automatically at 20% to save the battery. I don't know if this is for every unit or not but it's been doing it for me and a few friends who have them too. I guess this is to save the battery as it can affect the recharging efficiency and the battery will die faster than normal if you allow it to drain further.
From your picture it looks like it's doing as it should, shutting down at about 20%, and then guestimating the battery stats, which fools the reading. However dropping from 40% to 20% overnight sounds like you have one or more rogue apps installed causing some serious drain, unless it's something you know/want to be running of course.

[Q] Stock Recovery Only & Battery Life Issue

Well, after scrubbing the forums, looks like the only way to flash stock recovery is to download the full image and unzip it. Not a tremendously hard task, but still, it would be nice if there was just a stock recovery file available for those with poor internet connections.
Second, it seems as though the battery in my phone is acting up, just like my Droid 4 did. I'll charge it fully, the battery will drain over the course of the day, and then it will continue to live on critical (!) battery life for the next 5 hours until I go to bed and plug it in.
Why does it do this? Why does my phone apparently not understand the battery capacity? If my phone is getting down to the point where it says critical, with the red exclamation point in the battery icon, why does it continue to operate for 5 hours? How do I fix this?

well when your battery gets that low it kicks on battery saver and that should be why it last so long at critical.
as for the drain something is draining your battery very fast i would install gsam and try to find out what is draining your battery so fast. because i easily get a full day of use out of my phone.
Battery Saver does turn on. However I usually disable it again because it's almost always at a point where I'm listening to Pandora. Battery Saver will kick on and Pandora will stop playing songs. (Pandora is not what drains my battery all day, i only listen to it when driving)
Even with Battery Saver disabled, it lasts a stupid long time on critical.
I'll try GSAM. It still doesn't account for the misrepresentation of the battery indicator.

Inaccurate battery %??

After charging my battery fully to 100%, I unplug it from the charger and without even turning the screen on, the battery drains to 92% within one hour. I check the battery stats and there are maybe only a couple wakes during this time.
Sometimes, the battery shows a certain percentage longer than others. Example, my phone will be on 65% longer than it would be on 60%.
Battery still gives me a solid 2 days usage with about 3+ hours screen on time. The service menu also says that the battery is good.
Is there a way to get the battery reading to show more accurately?
Thanks,
Hope I could Help You
For your battery problem, I guess you could try calibrating it. And also try to install "Greenify" along with "Clean Master or 360 Security" and try to close all running apps before turning off the screen. I also turn on Stamina Mode when the battery is at 100%, in an attempt to further save battery life. And the result has been kinda meh, but well, battery drains about 1% per hour. It lasts about a day and half with light usage. In my case, light usage being, browsing, youtube videos for about 2 hours, listening to music, social networking and taking some pictures

Hey,
im using greenify (my phone is rooted). Battery is quite good for me though. I get about 3 days with light usage. I start charging my phone again when the battery gets to anywhere between 10-20%.
I read that maybe its better not to let it get so low?
I have no wake locks either.
Umm.. IMO, 10-20% is okay. I usually charge the phone when the battery gets around 5%. I read somewhere that charging battery too early can affect the battery's overall standby time (reducing it). It's better not to let the battery reach 0% though.
I had that happen with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 earlier. I once let the battery dip all the way to 0% many times. After a few charge cycles, I found out that the battery was dead and wouldn't charge at all so I ended up buying a new battery :-/
Umm.. Coming back to our Z1's, could you try putting the phone in stamina mode everytime the phone is kept on standby mode? This boosted my battery life a lot I even put my phone on stamina mode throughout the whole night yesterday to test the battery life again, and when I switched on in the morning, I saw that the battery had dipped by just 2% (standby time of 7 hours). I'm really confused how your battery drops so fast, 100% to 92%.
Could you try calibrating the battery and then putting it in Stamina Mode while on Stanby and tell me the results? I hope I could help :fingers-crossed:

Yeah i could try to calibrate it. Im a little confused on what you do to calibrate the battery (ive read way to many opinions on this). Can you please tell me the steps.

Question Battery drain

I'm suffering from bad battery drain. Leaving the phone idle for 5-6 hours and the battery drains from 90% to 49%.
Battery usage nothing is happening. Really weird?
Yes, that's strange and certainly different than my experience. I use the phone constantly day and into the evening, open and folded with from 5 to 8 hours on screen time and still have 40-50% battery. Every bit as good as my previous phone (Galaxy S20).
Have you gotten a system update. I've seen at least one post indicating battery life was improved.
Look a round and you'll find how to download and install manually, if you feel the need.
Best of luck.
What do you mean download and install manually? I think I might just do a factory reset and see how it goes!
I think SOC 3hrs max. I just check stocks and YouTube and etc... Video call probs drains the most for me
i don't see much difference in battery drain. last time i had bad battery drain was from google latest update. i had to reinstall the previous version to solve the issue.
