Anyone knows anything about 4GB RAM version? - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

There's only 6gb 64gb
Not any other version, so... leaks where wrong?
I'm so dissappointed right now

Maybe there's only 1 version via VR store, but there will be more after full publish at website?

I agree. There's no option for the gold color through the VR invite either.

Only version is 64GB no cheaper option this time round. Was hoping for a 32GB and cheaper price.

it will come out later.. price is unknown

Will NOT come, go on OnePlus AMA they officially said no more versione and no OPX2 , they just focus all the affords on OP3.

4gb is much enough

I agree, yes it is disappointing, they should have at least added a 128gb version also.
64gb is nowhere near enough for some people without having an sd card slot.

Rumor: 32GB Nexus 7?

I would have rather had a 32 GB than my 16. Once I load music and a couple movies its full.
I don't like having to watch the storage that close.

looks great finally google solved the storage issue only issue is that most people already have bought the 16gb varient and if this releases they are stuck with 16 gig unless they sell the 16gb and buy a 32gb version
I saw this like an hour ago and I would jump on this as soon as it is released. I got the 8 GB and after about a week I regretted not getting the 16 GB because 5 GB definitely isn't enough for backups and a lot of high definition games.
Oh my god, PLEASE be real!
They are real, some shops in my country are offering them for 30€ more than the 16gb version

32GB sounds awesome.
I'm satisfied with my 16GB. At first I was going to get a 8GB because I thought that would be enough but everyone advised me to get a 16GB. So glad!

Another website explained the Carphone Warehouse refers to the Samsung Nexus S as the "Samsung Nexus 2", I assume because it came after the Nexus One.
Personally, I would rather they made one model...an 8GB model at $199 with an SD Card... If these things sold as good as one would believe, that simple change would have made this thing sell twice as good (in my opinion).
Yea that would make sense but I read an article a week or so ago that explained why the Nexus devices don't have SD slots: its not because they're forcing us to use cloud storage its because they're trying to get rid of the two different locations for storage. There weren't chips big enough to add a crap load of storage until now (I believe Samsung just released their 64 GB chips). I wouldn't mind not having removable storage as long as there's like 32 or 64 GB worth.
Most likely this wont happen but it be pretty awesome if Google made it an option that you could send in your N7 to them and then they could update it for you for an extra 10-15 dollars to 32GB. I would be first in line to do this.

The memory is built-in right? Then theres no way that can happen because they would have to replace your whole motherboard.

Actually you could do this yourself if the only design change is the increased RAM.
The display is the most expensive part of the Nexus. If the form follows function of the 32GB, you'd simply purchase a repair MB for the 32GB model to put into your 8 or 16GB model.

Is anyone holding out for the 64 GB version?

One thing that I wish Samsung would copy Apple is ACTUALLY have a real 64 GB version. Announce to everyone during the event that there will be a 64 gb version then never actually sell it is just wrong. So is anyone hopeful and still holding out for it?
64GB is mythological. I don't think I've ever seen a 64GB Samsung phone..not even on youtube.

It'll probably be the international version, like it was with the Note II (and it was only available on the Asian market).
I could see them doing a mid model year update variant with 64 gb for major carriers. purely speculating.

The standard supports cards larger than 64GB. Even 64GB ones are relatively recent.
I think the limit is technical. Look at the underside of a 64GB MicroSD card - The black rectangle is the chip; and it takes up almost the whole area. It's around 50mm^2, which is around the die size of the most advanced 32GB flash memory - so they've got 2 of those stacked up, and the whole thing still barely fits.
They need another process shrink to get 128GB of flash into a MicroSD card form factor...
I too wish I could have had the choice to purchase a 64GB Note 3.
I have a 64GB card in mine and I will purchase a 128GB card when they become available.
The note 3 should support any size card that is SDxc compatible.
They introduced the SDxc over 2 years ago at CES and the 64GB card is the biggest I've seen thus far, but the SDxc format is theoretically capable of supporting up to 2TB cards. It will come eventually but I'm sure it will be a few years before we see something close to 1TB.
I am waiting for the 64GB version, will be out next September renamed teh Note 4 and only available in Asian markets.
It's not Samsung's fault...blame your carriers. The carriers aren't interested in carrying multiple versions of the same phone other than maybe a different color. The only phone that gets away with it is the iPhone because their followers will buy anything.

Galaxy Note8 Storage Options - 256GB

Do we know when the 128GB or if Samsung would grace the rest of the world; the 256GB option? Im surprised that no outlet has records for the 128GB or is it coming after launch since I only see 64GB versions available for preorder 'globally'.
I've been trying to find a 128gb version as well.... But no luck.
So right now im holding out ordering and waiting to see if the 128gb is releasing soon some where in the world.
North America never gets anything but the lower option - 64gb. Which is enough for now especially adding in the 256gb micro SD. That being said, I personally would love to have 128gb option and would pay $100 more for the extra storage. Just like I would also pay $100 for a BL unlocked (Dev version) of the Note 8. Don't think they have offered a Dev version of the Note since the Note 4, of which I bought the Dev version of that phone.
The versions with more storage, more ram, etc are usually very rare and only release in the asian markets. Not sure why they do that as there would be buyers elsewhere in the world. Head scratching.
Yeah Im in the USA however I couldnt care less where the device is coming from.. I preordered a 64x from clove.. but like you wanted the 128 at least (which is in my s6e...) so im taken aback how the internal storage options are still paltry. Yes the card.. but its not UFS2.1 speed so i dunno what gives.
sidenote, the note 8 has a ufs card reader which is up to 3x faster than usdxc.. slight mitigation.. if you can find cards.
I doubt a 128 much less a 256 version will appear—it's a classic Samsung tune, with every model since Note 2 they've been promising a “Luxury” of whatever version of the same model, always with double the storage.
I've waited for a couple of those before—they've never materialized…

Only in korea.
Better buy SD Card a fast one that has fast reading speed sandiak 200 gb or samsung evo 128 gb.
With 200 gb sd card (180 gb actual space) + 64 gb storage (52 gb actual space) =
232 GB Of total storage.
Which is just as much as 256 gb samsung phone.
Cause 256 gb samsung phones have 235 storage due to software.

Manufacturer's like One+ and Google don't have Micro SD support and I would kick myself so hard if I shelled all that money out for something a future device can't even use.

Samsung already tried that and came back. I think we are pretty safe to bet on Samsung keeping the slot for awhile. I won't buy another phone without removable storage. I've lost so much on my last 4 phones that died, one being a Nexus 6P with no external storage.

Yeah, Samsung is keeping our expand-ability for now, just like with the headphone jack. They want (atleast for the note devices) to be seen as the premium devices for professional work and power users so I think they will keep that draw over more mainstream-focused devices like the Pixel who is directly competing with the iPhone for that userbase.

Well, that was a sort of an experiment, they got the results, and they decided to re implement the sd card, as the note 5 was not very well received
Developing anything that would make a good flagship "Note" device any step closer to being handicapped like an iPhone is a bad experiment going in the wrong direction to begin with. I only bought a Note 5, because my Note 4 screen broke (and the repair costs justified replacing the unit). I'm still surprised that the Note 5 progressed past the prototype phase without the MicroSD card slot.

512GB vs 128 GB real life comparison

As the title states does anyone have both versions and can say it's justifiable to pay the extra 300? I don't car for the space but the extra 2 gigs of RAM could be nice. Please advise.

Are you going to be using more than 24 apps simultaneously? Because the Note8 could hold about that many in memory with 6GB of RAM.
Are you going to keep it for 2 years or more? If so, I suggest the 8GB for future-proofing. If not, 6GB makes more sense.
Just my two cents.
Since I heard this could be the last Note, I went with the 512/8. I may keep it a long time if they stop making the Note line. I use the stylus everyday at my job and I don't want to give that up anytime soon.
i got 512/8 gb model just in case this is the last note ever
I went with the 512gb because I can... No other reason. I will ditch it when the Note 10 comes out or the F.
The best use of the RAM would be for Dex, which I don't use. 128GB plus my 256GB SD card = more storage than I will ever come close to using. I could have easily afforded the 512, but I don't need a terabyte phone and I never came close to filling my Note 8 so it was a no brainer to me.
It depend on your need: heavy multitasking is your priority, for working and 300$ not too much with you then go 512GB
got the 512 blue version, just because i wanted to treat myself, and some futureproofing too
I think one important point people are missing is that the 512GB version allows you to use dual SIMs without worrying about running out of storage. My big problem with the Note 8 was that I could either put in two SIMs and live with the 64GB internal storage limitation, or give up on using two SIM cards and plug in a memory card instead. I ended up doing the latter. But with the 512GB Note 9, you don't have to compromise.
Maybe in the US, consumers are used to the idea of using only one SIM, but here in India dual SIMs are a common sight. And some phone brands offer two SIM slots PLUS a memory slot. Samsung, however, has opted for that rather limiting "hybrid SIM slot".
Got the 512/8 for future proofing and in the event that it is the last Note.

If you're speaking of modding you SD Card to work around the hybrid/SIM dilemma,Samsung recently pushed an update to the S9/S9+ that prevents that from working.
My guess this is in effect for the Note 9 out of the box.

It wasn't exactly common knowledge, unless one followed the subject on a regular basis, especially if one didn't own an S9.
I myself just found out days ago, assuming it'd work, since I used one of those slim SIM adapters on my dual SIM Honor View 10.
