Hi,

I guess it would.
There was also a USB cable, that I can stick in a contact that I already have, but then I would not get the fast charging.
I accept that this might be a trade off for having 4 GB version, but would be nice to have the fast charging option

I have the same type phone you have, and using this converter, which doesn't cost a thing, fast charging works just fine :good:

Found an adapter , works like sharm

If anyone is looking for a replacement/second charger, this item is genuine:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-5V-OR-9V-2A-QC2-0-Fast-USB-WALL-Charger-adapter-for-HUAWEI-honor-7/32669233630.html
I have received it today - it took only 2 weeks for the item to arrive in Poland.
I can confirm that the phone detects it as a quick charger. Regular QC2.0 and QC3.0 chargers do not charge Mate 8 quickly.

hmm they do not?
i just got an aukey qc 3.0 car charger and...yes, it does not charge quickly.
why?
what does the charger (car charger) need to say in order to charge it fast?
---------- Post added at 09:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:03 AM ----------
found this info :
To experience full charging speed, you have to find chargers that support Huawei's Fast Charging Protocal (FCP). Merely having a charger that can output 9V2A is not enough. Chargers that support FCP will also be compatible with Qualcomm quickcharge, but not necessarily vise versa.

Yes, it works the other way - Mate 8 charger can quickly charge Nexus 6, but neither Aukey QC2.0 nor QC3.0 chargers can do the same.

So, any chargers out there to fast charge the Huawei? Car chargers.

very correct, I have tried Aukey, Anker, and Choetech, they all don't support Huawei's mate 8 charging protocol FCP
I will just order another wall charger that is identical to the original and there are many on Aliexpress
I use my huawei's wall charger to charge the mate and my nexus 6 as well even though the N6 does not recognize the charger as fast unless I switch off the mobile then it start delivering 9v 1.35a to the N6 !!

Here's eBay search for Huawei car charger FCP

Anker Quick Charge 3.0 (Charger Review)

*Disclaimer*.....the S7 does not support Quick Charge 3.0. It only supports 2.0 but I may be picking up the G5 or HTC 10 which does support it.
I needed a new/extra charger so I figured I'd get something that supports the latest Quick Charge technology.
The charger itself feels well made. The prongs fold in for traveling purposes and it doesn't block the outlet/outlets sitting next to it. In regards to noise this charger makes none of it. Those who have used cheap chargers know the humming/buzzing noise I'm referring to. It's extremely annoying.
Now onto the part that really matters. I haven't had the time to compare this charger to the stock Samsung charger in regards to really putting them through the paces but early results look promising for the Anker.
I started the charge process with quick charge enabled at 5% and started a timer for 30 minutes. The stock Samsung charger was able to bring the battery to 43% while the Anker charger brought the battery to 52%.
Within the next few days I will do a test from 5% to 100% both with quick charge enabled and disabled.
On a side note I also picked up a 6 foot kevlar wrapped Anker micro USB cable. It feels well made and the connections are nice. I probably wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't on sale but I needed a new long micro USB cable.
So far I'd have to say that if you need another charger and you want Quick Charge 3.0 for another phone then go ahead and grab one. If you don't really need another charger or don't need Quick Charge 3.0 then I wouldn't waste the money on one unless you really want the slightly faster charging for the S7 Edge.

No, it will charge at the same speed as a QC 2.0 charger since there S7/S7E don't support QC 3.0
That's exactly what I asked, re qc2.0 but thanks for clarification, I wasn't sure if qc3.0 was 'backwards compatible' kind of thing

It is backwards compatible with QC 2.0. I did a test of those chargers QC 2.0/3.0, Wireless, fast wireless that you can see in my signature. The charge times are identical as you will see.

Yes, quick charge 3.0 compatible with all qc2.0 supported devices, like S7 edge.
So I search on Amazon and find that Anker, iClever, Aukey released their new quick charge 3.0 usb chargers.

Wired. I have no use for wireless chargers.
Once you go wireless you don't go back. lol I hate wires. I have four wireless chargers. Three were pretty much free. With T-Mobile Jump (phone junkie) I just sell my fast charging cablez and headphones for a few bucks since I don't need anymore. So why didn't Samsung put 3.0 charging in the S7 Edge?
I guess they designed the phone before quick charge 3.0 was available? Maybe it hurt they're bottom line? I don't know but whatever the reason it was a stupid decision.
The reason I don't like wireless chargers is because the only time I ever charge my phone is either in the car or while laying in bed. In both places I like using the phone while it charges.

No, QC has it as part of the SoC, si its supported technically but Samsung chose not to use it for an unknown reason.
They disabled it in the Snap dragon version because the other phone with their own SOC wouldn't support it so to keep the 2 on parity they disabled ours.

Which powerbank should i buy?

Hey, i'm happy with my N5X battery, but i'm gonna need a power bank for my travels.
So can you recommend me one. Is there any powerbank that has type C USB port??
There still aren't many USB Type C devices out there, your best bet is still probably a power bank with plain old USB type A ports, so you can charge your phone (with a type A -> type C cable) and other things as well. I just got this one because it is integrated with an AC charger, so it's one less thing to carry: http://plugable.com/products/pb-wa5k. It quick-charges the N5X.
Here are a few power banks with a Type-C output of 3A. So it will fast charge your Nexus 5X.

I recommend the oneplus power bank (10,000mah) - Single device will charge at 2A, but two devices will charge at 1A . I never had any issues charging my phone and an iPhone at the same time.

If you ever need to deal with them, (Anker) you won't be disappointed. I thought I had received a bad charger from them (not 100% sure though), and they sent out a replacement as we spoke on the phone no questions asked. Then emailed me a prepaid shipping label to return the old one. Now that's great customer service.
I own the Anker USB C power bank, as well as several others of their accessories. Truly top quality stuff, plus their customer service is exceptional.
Look at the powerbanks of anker mabye they van het you hooked
Hey I had a quick question about the GMYLE power bank . Is the link that you provided the same thing as the one I found on Amazon but cheaper.I can't link it sorry but you have to search GMYLE on Amazon, it is the 10 dollar one . Also will this one work for the nexus 5x and say "rapidly charging". Thanks
Every power bank which gives at least 2,5 A should allow fast charging.

Samsung Convertible Wireless charger?

Ok I got my 128gb card and my Samsung wireless convertible charger today. I also have last year's wireless charger. I set my new wireless charger up and when connected my phone it says charging. When I put my phone on my older one it says fast charging. Also when I put it on the wall plug it says fast charging. Is anyone else having these problems?
Nope. My new Samsung charger came with a new adaptive fast charge adapter and usb c cable. Says fast charging. I'd never spend that much on a Samsung model. Still doesn't charge properly in portrait mode. My $15 youshare wireless fast charge base works just as well

I figured it out I have a 3.0 charging hub and when it is connected to that it does not fast charge. But if I hook my phone straight to the hub it fast charges. So it has to be a Samsung wall plug for it to fast charge.
Yup I have a 6 port anker qc hub but the fast chargers all require the stock wall adapter for some reason. The aftermarket ones are the same way

It could be charger specific using different protocols. I have an Mbox 4 port qc 2.0 car charger that will not charge the note 8 in fast charge mode. I had to purchase another charger that is qc 3.0 to get it working.

Notice the packaging for the new (Note 8) Convertible charger has been changed to a slimmer, nicer box. Wonder if they changed the charger it's self?
I have noticed mine will only say wireless charging and not fast wireless charging sometimes. If I take the phone off and pit it back on it jump to fast wireless charging.

Very slow charging (measured with meter)

Model: CLT-AL00 (Dual SIM)
Build: 8.1.0.131 (C675)
Location: India
Chargers tested: Original box charger, Tronsmart Quick Charge 2.0 charger, Choetech Quick Charge 2.0 power bank
How is the charging speed for you guys? It has been over 24 hours since I received this phone and charging is too slow for me.
First of all Huawei cheated us Indians by not bundling supercharger and choosing to include a 9V/2A charger instead. It would have been great if the phone charged at least to that spec.
In 30 minutes, my P20 Pro charges about 14% (i.e. from 4% to 18%). And I wasn't using the phone. I first tried the charger/cable that came with it (upon which the phone displays fast charging) then my old Tronsmart Quick Charge 2.0 charger and finally Choetech QC 2.0 16000mah power bank. Although Huawei does not use QC, it should at least charge on 5V/2A speeds.
I used a USB meter to measure the output and was surprised that the phone uses only 5V/0.8A regardless of whether the screen is on or off. My S8+ uses 8.8V/1.6A (with Tronsmart and Choetech) while the screen is off and 5V/1.5A when the screen is on. At 5V/0.8A speed it could take 3 or 4 hours to charge the massive 4000mah battery.
What about you guys? I am wondering if I have a defective hardware and should replace within the window.
Also considering the phone supposedly uses "AI" everywhere to learn your patterns, did the charging speed improve over time or has it been the same since day 1?
You will only get fast charging with the 1st party charger. Its proprietary technology.

I understand that. But even 1st party charger is only drawing 5V/0.8A power, just like a 3rd party charger.
Any 2A charger (1st party or not) should be capable of providing at least 5V/1.8A power. But here it isn't, which is why I am wondering if this is an issue with the my particular phone itself.
Does it have this written on the 1st party charger?

We don't get supercharger here in India. We get a 2A fast charger.
you will have to buy a supercharger from ebay.in. I just bought one for INR 1800
Quick charge should still give you at least 40% in 30 minutes. Your phone seems faulty to me
Hi, I have P20 Pro from over a week. I replaced Mate 10 Pro with P20 Pro and I don't understand why P20 Pro charges slower in my car than Mate did.
Mate was charge ~10-15% in 40-60 minutes when connected to car. P20Pro is charging ~2-3% at the same time.
I don't uderstand why. Both of phones have the same battery, the same CPU. That difference with charging exists only in car.
Thanks in advance for any solutions

yes, shows supercharging on lock screen
To know 2 ways how much Ampere it charges, then download app called Ampere it will tell you how much Ampere each charger gives. With SuperCharger it should say around 4500-4800Ampere.
The second way to know it's using supercharge is that it has 2 lightning icons connected in battery icon and that it says supercharge.
I've noticed that even if you have a supercharger, you need to have a proprietary cable AS WELL to get supercharge.
Otherwise you get bog standard charging, which takes about 2 hours to charge (I think. Never charge my phone from 0)

Question [Solved] Third-Party Charging Block and Charging

Hopefully, some of you more seasoned members can help me understand charging variables a bit more beyond just rated wattage. So let's begin.
I live in the U.S so I had to purchase a third-party charging block for the Mi 11 since it came with a European one. I ended up getting two because one I bought for a really good price. They're both 65W "GaN" charging blocks (MI 11 uses 55W charging), using the same power source, the same cable (Xiaomi OEM currently). However, I'm getting different results with both.

Thanks for any helpful input in advance
"I live in the U.S so I had to purchase a third-party charging block for the Mi 11 since it came with a European one"
you could have just bought this for much cheaper:
Amazon.com : eu us adapter
With the Ravpower, did you try both ports? Because in the marketing sheets on the URL you provided, it says it does support QuickCharge 3.0. Now, Xiaomi's TurboCharge is actually QC from Qualcomm so that is the same.
The only thing I see is that the Ravpower does 18w QC which isn't that much. The other one can go up to 45 and 65w. Mabe the TurboCharge doesn't kick in because 18w isn't enough to actually be...turbo.

That's very true. I actually have a travel adapter that can convert EU to US and vice versa. I just preferred getting a dedicated power block over an adapter in this instance.

Yes and no. I've used the USB Type-C port on the RavPower, as well. It resulted in "Charging Fast" in those instances. However, I think this is due to cable I was using. The cable said it is rated for 60W but I'm skeptical of it as it is a magnetic cable and I haven't tried it with other blocks to confirm it can. Other than that, I don't believe I have any Type C to Type C cables rated that high.
Oh, I feel foolish for not catching the RavPower only putting out 18W on the USB-A. The Setakaa puts out 60W for USB-A so that definitely explains it

No, so many specs. Good you as here, that is what it's for
Also, haven't see 65w magnetic cables yet. But also, I don't think they adhere to the USB-IF specs so I stay away from them. I would suggest a good certified cable, plug it into the USB-C and see what happens
Also, charging with 18w is definitely better for the durability of you battery. Don't turbo charge when not needed. My advice.

With the Ravpower, did you try both ports? Because in the marketing sheets on the URL you provided, it says it does support QuickCharge 3.0. Now, Xiaomi's TurboCharge is actually QC from Qualcomm so that is the same.

Is Turbo Charge really QuickCharge and not Power Delivery?
