[Q] Movie sources for Captivate?

Hey all, first post here. I have what should be a simple question but I can't find a clear answer. I'm going on a trip and want to watch a movie on the awesome Captivate screen but I'm unsure of where to find any. Does anyone know if there are online (legal) sources where I can purchase/rent & download a movie or TV show? Does Amazon movies work on the Captivate?

I am not that sure of the technical details of the formats but I have used anydvd and handbrake (high profile settings) to convert my personal DVD collection. The screen is incredible on this phone.

I always watch disney movies on youtube by typing disney name and part 1

I've yet to run into a format our phones can't use (I hear there are SOME issues with 1080p mkv). As long as it's capable of supporting the license files if something is DRM locked, it should open in the video player.

And if the phone's default player can't play it, there's always RockPlayer and a few others available in the market that will do the job.

I have just seen a rom for galaxy ace .it's is rom for members who love music.it have beatsaudio and xloud ,....a lot of good app for hi end music.i want to find the same rom for x8.i love music so much.watting for your sharing!!!!!!!!!!

I taken you mean ROM! IF your aim is Hi end music, app is more important than ROM! app (ie Meridian player) that support uncompressed format like flac, instead of the inferior mp3 format!
I think the stock original ROM doesn't support flac, you may have to install custom Rom like CM7 to get support for native flac!

i want to find rom cause it has a lot system app so it is more pro.i used power amp,player pro,walk man.ttpod,...so i don't really like theme.i'm using cm7 and i flashed beataudio but i need a pro rom for my lossless music.help.i love music so much.

Please write ROM instead of room. It hurts my eyes.
Use the search button to find Beats Audio and xLoud. They are also available for the X8. You can find music players on the Play Store.

[Q] How to get more HTC gallery preview themes?

Hi all.
Ok so ive had my phone just over a week now and im proper loving it. What a piece of kit it really is. One thing i did want to ask though is,since i first got the phone i have been playing with the gallery previews and uploading them to my Facebook. I have family all over the world and they are a great way of showing them my 18 month old daughter growing up. I did notice that before i flashed my phone i had only 6 different themes to choose from, but since i flashed it i now have 12 and they are displayed different. I have watched videos on how to put your own music to the Zoe videos but i was wondering where can i get more themes from? Obviously Mike1986 who made the revolution HD ROM got them from somewhere but does anyone know where? I have searched Google but have found nothing.
Anybody got any idea's?

The 4.2.2 base added more, made by HTC. You can try to mod the Gallery and add your own, but I imagine this is tricky

I got my tab a few days ago and found in the video app an awesome demo video, but somehow I've lost it. Can someone provide me with a copy of that video? Much would be appreciated.

I got half way through that video before reading down the page. That's hilarious

The exact same thing happened to me. I watched the video once, then it disappeared. There's a widget to display it on the desktop but the video's gone. Can anyone suggest a good free YouTube downloaded that actually works?

Have you tried looking in your My Files folder under Video as that's where mine is.

why no album/gallery app except Google's own.

Quite disappointing for a camera focused phone. Google photos is not for me.
What are some good alternatives?

I have to agree with you. I have been using Sony phones for years and enjoyed the Album app. I reluctantly am using Google Photos but it received an update today that improves the experience. However, I would be interested in hearing other users alternatives as well.

Google photo is perfect.
Album is discontinued because it cost a lot of money to Sony

It's not perfect (yet)
There is an annoying issue and it seems it will take time to fix it.
You cannot edit photo (cropping for example) if your photo are saved into the microsd card. You need to use a workaround and to have save a copy and delete the original.
I hope they will fix it soon. Please upvote

to be honest I didn't like the Album app at all on the Z and XZ3 , so I'm not missing it

Is it showing your actual photos or the photos once they are uploaded to google?

Try Simple Gallery Pro, much better than sony's album and you can customise everything.

Found this on Reddit. You can install a previous version of Album that works with the X1ii. I've been using it and it's a much better experience than Google Photos.
Have a back up gallery app like Simple Gallery because some folders don't appear in the Album app I've found. Enjoy?

By any chance, do you know how to get the sd card permission prompt to show up for the 9.8 album apk? Even though it has the permissions in the manifest, no modifications can be made to files on the sd card .
Normally it doesn't have to because album was always a system app

Xperia album is discontinued by Sony. Sony has cut half of its smartphone division last year, so it is no wonder that most of xperia softwares has to been abandoned. I personally use simple gallery as an alternative.

No need. Plenty of alternatives out there that work much better than the gallery app ever did. My personal favorite is F-Stop.

Listen folks, before wiping your old phone, download App Extractor, and copy the unpacked 'Album' (or any other) file/program over to your new phone (a PC will help), and voila!
