what about features?

Screenshots?

fluid, flash took under a minute., features are okay.
only bug i can see is that if you open the motion gesture it will FC but its fine. great work, keep it up.

Hi I am used to flashing custom ROM's coming from a Huawei G510 and ASUS Zenfone 2, What are the instructions for flashing do you use twrp or stock recovery?
I ask as you have notes about the stock kernel could you put some clear install instructions as this sounds like a good ROM?
Is there any bugs?
Is it pure Android and not Cyangenmod?
Does the FP & IR work?

It is based on cm13 right? What are the flash instructions ? Just wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache? Then the rom and gapps?

Tap to wake will not work on any rom of kenzo. where it is a hardware compatibility kenzo lacks it.
It can be done using 3rd party apps which were not recommended because of battery drain and it will keep your device screen always on with dark black screen instead of sleep mode.

Why do you need tap to wake ? You have finger unlock (the device wake's upon successful recognition) .

yeah but not every one has there phone in there hand the hole day. mine is laying next to me on my desk (my lg g3) and i double click to check messages...
that's why i dont get why people dont understand... that's it a usefull feature
i always wake up my phone with double tap when its on my desk so i dont need to pick it up since the buttons are on the back.
and now i need to click the power button on the side and then put my password in...
if you know what i mean i won't be using the finger print scanner every time at home i prefer double tap to wake (i dont have the redmi note 3 yet but it will be wierd living without double tap to wake)
it's a simple feature that u get used to. and it's easy and quick

tap to wake and fp is 2 different things and can't be compared or replaced...
fp can wake the phone, but its useless for some ppl because the fp scanner is on the backside, you have to lift your phone to access the fp scanner.

well kenzo does not have DDTS feature . Its just not built in the ROM

Fp is working fine
Further for DDTS few developers are working and hopefully we will get this feature soon !
Bugs should be fixed soon

Double tap to wake is t see notifications on the lock screen
The fp scanner unlocks the phone to home screen and not lock screen so if u want to just see the notificatons on lock screen u have to press the power button to wake up the lock screen
So it dosent matter if the fp scanner is at the back or front if u touch the scanner u wont get to lock screen u will get to home screen
This is the diff
And double tap to wake is initiated in the kernel so if developers r making custom kernel we will get that feature in futher roms

double tap to wake

Hey,
I can't look at LG3 owners without being annoyed about how simple, useful and easy to use the double tap to wake option is implemented there. As for myself I had it with my Nexus 5 which I upgraded from but from my understanding almost all of the big OEM's such as Sony HTC and of course LG has that option.
It is beyod my understanding as to why samsung is the only one to not implement double tap to wake. Any idea's, and do you think we will ever have it?(might be only with a custom kernel but development is lacking at the moment in that area)
Edit: btw, as for a full explanation as to why that option doesn't compromise battery:
'' LG uses Qualcomms low power functionality on Snapdragon 800+ processors for D2TW and knock code. Together with a low power mode on the digitizer, this means that it will use nearly no power. ''
Had a G2 and G3 before, and tbh, the knock on/off feature is the only thing I miss ...
It would be even more useful on the note 4 due to its size.
My HTC One M8 has "knock to wake" and I find it genuinely useful. However, it only really works for me if I have the phone in my hand - it doesn't seem to register if my phone is sitting on my desk.
Given that the Note range has a physical home key, and you can wake it by pressing that, I do question how useful "knock to wake" would be on the Note.
Just my opinion though - you probably think otherwise.
Regards,
Dave

I haven't see all android L feature, but that's great if L has double tap to wake function, just hope samsung not disable it
Hey, Ican Wake my Note 4 just Waveing my hand over it. Stock setting
You have a physical buttom in the fromt, so there is not point in having something that will just drain your battery a bit more.
With two ways to wake up the phone, the big physical home button and the side button who needs a third way?
Yes I miss double tap to wake-up, using app called WTN Settings and I double tap on the proximity sensor. Yes it leaves proximity sensor always on but I haven't noticed battery drain.

Air wake up is ok but not as efficient and doesn't work if only have one hand anyways. Custom kernels should be able to add this option.

Hey did you try this ROM?/It's very good, battery seems slowly draining, i know it's early and later will confirm, please confirm if Torch is working if you installed?
The ROM is wonderful, very smooth, good battery, I'm really enjoying it, the best so far, I just had problems with the freeze on the lock screen, I decided to disable it, but I know you'll find a solution soon, looking forward to the next versions, Congratulations to all collaborators!
I am going to flash this tonight,,,how is the battery compared to Mokee?

Been using this ROM for 16 hours and I can say that it's one of the best Oreo ROM for victara. Everything seems fluid and stable. I got a freeze for some seconds while trying to wake my phone. I tried unchecking in pocket detection and it seems fine now. Love the extra options of this ROM. I like the double tap to sleep the phone anywhere on the screen. I will stick to this ROM.
does the sound stutter when you play games like AOV(Arena of Valor) ?
How is the temp and battery on this rom? I have noticed that some 8.1 roms have spikes of temp with moderate to high usage and some deal of battery drain even when not being used?
I just got to know one thing,,,how did you get the Now Playing for songs to work, even with the screen off? Now I really dont miss my Pixel that I sold LOL Great job!
Does it need Gapps?
Interesting read,,,the only problem is for me,,,Now Playing or Ambient Play,, does not stop. I am getting a huge battery drain partial wake lock with audio in,,,which I can only assume is this service. I have tried to shut it off in settings but it is still on. I cant seem to find "Luna Ambient Service" in my apps to force close it either? Is there another way to shut it down so I can only use it when I want?
Kinda weird that no one knows anything about these 8.1 roms or even bothers to answer including the dev for them?
Sapper Morton said:
All credits to Chris Crump:
"So after checking out Carbon Rom's port of the Google Now Playing feature, I shortly realized it's only working on Pixel devices. So initially I began working on getting it to work for any device, but I remembered my post from the other day about reverse engineering a Now Playing alternative.
So I did some digging and found a music app called Encore that has music recognition built it. I learned afterwards it was open source. You know what that means
So over the course of 8 hours I've been stripping the music recognition code out of out the app. It wasn't alot and very simple actually. Its very similar to Google's Now Playing except it pulls the songs fingerprint from a third party database and compares it to the one grabbed from the audio recording. I rewrote it into our own service called Luna Ambient Services (A spin on Pixel Ambient Services)..."

Yes
Can't find the customisation options
Where are the customisation options like statusbar, swap navigation buttons, lock screen etc.? Otherwise fantastic ROM. Thanks.
I installed this ROM last night and its been 22 hours since I am using this.
Few issues I have noticed:
- As mentioned by @huatz84, phone was freezing for 5-8 seconds while waking it up from lockscreen. I turned off "pocket detection" as suggested by @huatz84 and now I do NOT have freeze wake issue
- Biggest problem I am facing is data connectivity issue. Phone does not connect quickly to mobile data connection. Though bar shows full signal with 4g, still speedtest/browser/youtube/apps says no connection. After trying for a minute or two, I am then able to open the links/videos. However, this problem repeats whenever I am using mobile data after few mins of internet inactivity. When it's connected, the data works fast. So it is NOT a problem with signal reception. Tried APN reset, airplane mode off/on, restart phone, 3g/4g toggle - but same results.
- Ambient sound keeps running. Still have not tried the solution that was posted before.
- Apps take couple of seconds longer to open up, especially when using the phone after sometime (might be something related to deep sleep)
What I love
- smooth transitions (except opening of apps mentioned above)
- like the new Oreo look and feel
- battery life good so far but need to monitor closely
- biggest thing--it has support for Moto gestures & wakeup on wave, which I love
If anyone has any suggestions for data connection issue, please let me know. I liked this ROM overall but if data connection issue persists, I will go back to 7.1

[Guide] fix for double tap to wake not working

Just a heads up ,had the same problem of double tap to wake not working and any other screen off gestures. after few hours of fiddling came to know it has something do with the proximity sensor not being properly calibrated. Once I calibrated the sensor the issue was fixed for me ,sharing it in the interest so that it works for others too.
1. Enter engineering mode by entering *#808# on the dialer.
2.goto device debugging tab and select proximity sensor test
3. Make sure nothing covers your phone on top as instructed and tap the offset calibrate button multiple time until you see the text "pass" on screen.
4. That is all, now the double tap to wake should work along with other offscreen gestures

did you get the pass text after pressing "offset calibrate button" multiple times?
Yes
Should we put something at 2cm and then 4cm away from the phone when doing this calibration? It doesn't seem like we are calibrating if we just have the sensor pointing straight up at nothing? I have gone to the menu page for proximity calibration, but have not hit the offset calibrate button yet.
worked for me. Thx!
I didn't really locate the exact "offset calibrate button", but after simply hitting on a few of the options in that device debugging tab I got it up and running again. Thanks.

So the above worked for me, however, I clicked the calibration button one time and when it asked for me to put something 2cm/4cm away from the sensor, I used the back swipe gesture and left the calibration settings. Once I did that, my draw O for flashlight, tap to wake, notifications and ambient sensor started working again.

Thanks for the feedback. So it does ask to put something a 2cm/4cm away. That makes sense. I never did try it. I did settings/apps/show all apps/ show system apps/ambient display/ I cleared the cache and then restarted the phone. After that all was good and it kept working. That was a few days ago before the OTA update came down.

But it worked! Thanks OP
Doesn't work on mine either. However the only gesture that doesn't work is double tap, thankfully when I lift it now that works again.

Yes, however it's working now. I can put up with little bugs as long as they are eventually fixed. The only thing I don't like is showing somebody my nice new phone and having something not work ??

Doesn't work on mine either. However the only gesture that doesn't work is double tap, thankfully when I lift it now that works again.

i ran into this problem again this morning in low light after calibrating the proximity sensor and receiving the update that supposedly fixed the problem. will performing a factory reset restore whatever changes i made in the engineering mode?

FAQ
Before ask something in this thread or in our Telegram support group check this list:
Why you leave the official support to PixelExperience?
Probably some people will say that I didn't respect the rules of conduct, but unfortunately the truth is another, I have never released a build breaking the rules and the proof is in the ROMs released. It is easier to accuse someone than to explain the real reason, I am 40 years old and I have no intention of wasting time behind people who believe that they are professionals only because they are capable of doing it, behind all this there must also be respect for dialogue and of communication, something that I had no way of having within the maintenance group. Could it be my fault because I'm not a young guy for whom I only communicated problems or messages of significant importance? I do not know sincerely, in fact I wanted to explain the situation. I absolutely do not want to do all the fuss, I only had problems with a person in the group (of which I do not name for privacy) so if you are thinking of joining the group as a maintainer do not hesitate to do so if think you have the skills and the desire to do it! For those who have made the para ass by confirming situations that they have not seen but that for their own interest have preferred to confirm I only say one thing: you are really a bad person, it was better if you were silent, you would have made a better figure ...
You choose now to support another ROM, what you think about that choice?
Thanks to what happened I seriously started working on the Evolution X ROM, in May when I took the Pixel Experience I tried the Evolution X but I thought it was not very reactive for my tastes so I gave up. At the moment (not because I am without an official ROM) I think I found a new love, snappy, the default is equal to a Pixel ROM stock, every additional feature works and does not slow down the system, a real ROM on experience Pixels that are really worth a try. I'm still fixing issues related to the non-direct compatibility with the Pixel Experience but I'm sure I'll be able to do something good in this project too and I'm not going to leave.
You don't think you give the official support, with your big followers what you think to do?
Unfortunately I believe that I will not be given official support, but I do not want to leave my community on a ROM without support for automatic updates, so thanks to the donations I receive every month and I thank you from my heart because they have allowed so far and I also hope in the future to maintain this project (the time I spend doing it for free, but at least the community pays for it) I can create our own OTA update system even without official support. I hope in any case to be able to contribute directly to the Evolution X project because I really love this version, but as I said previously I don't think it will happen, I hope Stallix and co. amaze me!

If you come from pe later 27 nov (my last one) probably the issue still here, make a clean install and that's it.
Remember the new android ten roms use the aosp sound driver so the audio mod probably break your sound, remove it before.
Tell me if the problem still, we don't have that issue (over 1k install atm).

Bug Reporting
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
Current Bugs - Nothing at the moment. You tell us if encounter any issues through the bug report.

First first, props!
Thank you for this ROM! I came from the latest Xiaomi EU and it seems that the audio doesn't work and the videos are like 15-20 fps. Firmware problem, maybe?

use 12.1.5 last one has broken twrp thats why we not use it as a base
I can't download latest version 1.1 it's always stuck around 500mb.
I will try 1.0 for now....
I did everything according to the instructions in the rom there is no camera application after adding a fingerprint when unlocking the screen brightens to the max
Good afternoon, put 1.1 and the last beta from eu. everything is fine only there is no sound, how to fix it?

Need to use 12.1.5 eu like said in post otherwise things wont work
Some review, good things:
- Faceunlock working fine
- safety net with magisk - PASS, (Magisk v.21.1)
- everything is working fine and smooth, ROM is pretty stable no apps crashes - 2 days using
- SOT is really okey, i got 5h 40min SOT/ 15h standby still 56% available (using only for reading books on chrome browser, maybe some youtube vid, social apps, no games), I can say it's similar to stock global/EEA MIUI
Bad things:
- no camera apk, is any anx available for mi 10?
- Fingeprint scanner is working little better than xiaom.eu rom, but worse than global/EEA stable MIUI - just like czarek1212 said whole screen is flashing to max brightness when scanning fp
- after remove pin/password, it's removes all finger scans also face id
- gallery app is crashing, im using google photos
- setting "recognizing music on lockscreen" is not working
- missing feature "wake up on pickup", it woulb be really nice if u can add this
Overall is very good ROM, im gonna use it as daily. Thank you for your work

Guys, can anyone upload sort of a "video review" of this rom? I would like to see it in action before I unlock bootloader etc
I didn't follow up - do the AOSP ROMs in general have dual apps feature enabled, or not?
