dbrands skin - OnePlus 3 Accessories

My dbrands.com skin came today for my OP3. It looks and feels great. They are now shipping if you want one. The installation is easy just follow the video on their website. Mine is yellow top and bottom with blue carbon back. Mahogany front.

lol omg how hilarious, i was just getting ready to create my own thread of this, i got mine in today too, i'll just share mine on ur post too
i like urs, great job on applying urs, the top and bottoms was a pain in the a... for me, but the easiest skin i have ever applied, no bubbles or anything, i don't think it will last long but at least they gave me 2 of them.
it does feel really nice and great quality (no cheap), no longer keeps slipping either
Top/Bottom/Logo - Red
Back/Camera - Matte Black

Ha ha good timing then. Yours looks nice too. I agree that it's an easy to apply skin. The tops and bottom was a pain. The key I found is use a little more heat on the tabs. My top doesn't look as good as the bottom. With the extras I'll just replace it if it bugs me too much.

Are you able to use your case with the skin?
All designs are looking awesome!

How well do these skins typically hold up in respect to edges peeling up, etc. i do not like using cases but would need a skin on an aluminum bodied phone.
My main concern would be the edges peeling back up due to use and pulling out of pocket all the time, or even just moving around in the pocket.
I have used another type of skin before and sometimes it does ok but other times it only lasts a day. Granted the skin i used did not fully wrap around to the front, more for back protection

How is the difference in texture between the Colour series and the Matte Black?
And anyone here know how the texture of the Concrete is?

So far the only issue or disappointment I have is with the front. It picks up the dust and hairs from my pocket and did get the side edge of the front screen to shift some. The back I have no complaints. No shifting, peeling, or residue collecting hairs like the front.
For longevity someone who's had these skins on longer will need to chime in. This is my first experience.

Looks awesome guys!

sorry, the matte black

Am loving the look of these will have to see if I want to use one instead of my case to take away some of the bulk

I've got a really good set up coming in the post

Here's a couple different variations of Dbrand skins I have done for the OnePlus 3. I am about to do black carbon w/ blue carbon accents. They fit really well and add a lot of protection and extra grip. I am very happy with it.

**Nexus S- Carbon Vinyl**

For those complaining about the cheap plastic back cover of their Nexus S.
Here`s a solution.
I`ve recently got a piece of carbon vinyl from a car store around. You can easily get one of these on ebay for about 1-2 bucks. Get yourself a hairdryer(for the edges obviously)
Remove the back cover and apply the vinyl on it, remove air bubbles and with the use of a sharp cutter do your own cut outs.
Minute bubbles will even disappear overnight! Press the corners around the device with your thumb and I recommend that you use a hair dryer to ensure that all tabs and corners are firmly fixed.
Here is the first pic I`ve taken. I am going to post in a few days the layout to make it easier for you guys.
Nexus S MIUI using franco Kernel
P.S: This skin is actually on sale for $30 on phantom skins
The phone looks gorgeous coupled with the Rearth Ringke case. Take a look at the pics. I alternate with the case depending on my usual usage
Wow ... it looks awesome .... I'll definitely try this. Thanks for the tip.
That's wicked, nice DIY project. My favorite so far, the faux metal brushed back cover come close second. I'll really like to buy several back cover when I'll get my job back (low season at the company I work for) to try all of them.
Looks great, dude, but how are the edges on the sides? Maybe it's my lack of knowledge about these sheets of carbon fiber, but is it not rough and ugly around the edge (if you're looking at the phone from the front)?
Maybe I need to wait for more pictures
Looks awesome, good job!
You are actually right Ryjabo. The front edges are ugly in the pic, but it was taken just after application. Am gonna use the hairdryer to make it much better, and post some pics when am back home

Dude that's sick. I'll be picking up a 3rd battery door cover via local (spcs store) just for this.
But how did you cut the camera, flash and speaker slots so clean and neat?

Well, to achieve this just remove the back cover of the phone and apply the vinyl.
Once you are satisfied with the overall result (air bubbles etc..), just turn over the back over, and use a sharp cutter for the camera and flash.
Then, use the hairdyer and press the borders firmly for it to hold in place.
But for the speaker, you`ll need to be more skilful. First, enter the tip of your cutter in both holes. Turn over the back cover( to the vinyl side ), and complete the cutting. That`s it.

very nice. Thanks!
done this mod to my nexus last night. The template that was given in the first post wasn't that good tbh so I just cut a large enough piece and then heat it up to curve the edges enough and then cut the excess off. Still a bit rough round the edges where its creased but overall I'm happy. Have plenty more to redo it if needed tho!

I am sorry about the template. It`s actually for the i9023 variant. My friend got better result with his Galaxy S by heating the vinyl before applying it on the edges. I think you`ve got a pretty nice result

In fact you are right. They are both similar.
Dimensions (HxWxD) 124 x 63 x 11mm I9020
123.9 x 63 x 10.9 mm I9023
Well, these are minor differences but enough to alter positioning of the camera and flash cutouts.
After using my Nexus S for a few weeks now, I think the vinyl wrap is just getting better and better
I`m planning to make some reflective Nexus logo decal on the back, will be much easier to get grab of the phone at night - even if at times, the BLN is of a great help
I was inspired by this thread and so i decided to use the leftover vinyl from my galaxy tab 10 and here are the results
before anyone asks, the white cover is from ebay for the european i9023!
Does anybody has the layout for the cover?

Nexus S Pure White Skin?

Herro peoples!
I want to buy a skin for my Nexus (not a "case").
I was wondering if there is a skin out there that is pure white. What I mean by that is a skin that is just white, with no menu button designs, NOTHING but white. If there is a white skin with cut outs for the menu buttons (so that they appear black when not turned on and glow white when active) I would be more interested in that though.
I desperately want to turn my "white" nexus to a completely white phone . If there is another way to do this besides skins, like changing the face cover or whatever please tell me.
Thanks ahead of time!
...Could I suggest a spray paint bottle ?
You can buy a bezel online and paint it white. You can also get an already white back cover. That's the whitest you'll get, since there's no screen with a white portion.

My phone is already the white Nexus S from Telus so the battery cover won't be needed. I might try the bezel.
Unique skins (http://www.uniqueskins.com/Products/Samsung/Custom+Samsung+Nexus+S+Skin?t=c) and decalgirl (http://www.decalgirl.com/category.view/Samsung-Google-Nexus-S-Skins) both have a white skin... Unique skins also let's you make your own skins so I can make a solid white one. I'll try that before anything else. Only worries are that the skins won't cover the 2 sides of the front screen that are black, only the other areas (only the top speaker area and bottom buttons area). I'd get upset if that happened lol. So I am going to end up getting a pure white case too

Eh I;m actually not that upset about t having buttons I'd still get it LOL. Tough choices... I either make my own solid white skin on unique skin without (assuming) buttons or get the decagirl one with buttons... Which would look nicer?
Just to help you out some, I was trying to find actual pictures of the Decalgirl skin on a nexus s, I found one review. Here is a good idea what the phone would look like with the skin on, you just have to imagine it white Like I said in my thread about Decalgirl skins, when mine arrives I'll take some pictures. Black vs White subtle differences

I got a chance today to get hold of both variations. Other than the obvious color on the back, there are several subtle differences:
1. Earpiece color, black vs white
2. Side finish, matte vs glossy
3. Back finish, soft-touch vs regular matte plastic (contrary to what Engadget reported)
I was going to grab the white one for the look, but after getting them in my hands, I changed my mind. That soft touch back on the black one is really comfortable to touch (I don't plan on using a case anyway). Also, I prefer the earpiece to be black.
Also take a look at this post:

Weak, I didn't know that (about the finish on the back) or I too would've opted for black.
So the conclusion is that white has the better looking and the black is more comfortable for using?

16gb white was all that was available when i hit the play store yesterday so that's what i ordered. i like the black / white combo on this device and ordered the white spiegen ultra fit case to show it off.
won't really matter how the back compares against the black once the case is on there.

Well yes, this is my opinion, although IMO white is just slightly more appealing if it also have a soft touch back.
I guess having soft touch on white is either very difficult, or will make it stain/turn yellow easily
I always believed that the white one will not have soft touch, until I read the Engadget report...but it turns out to be false
I have a white GS3 and love white devices but after never being able to get a case or bumper that can stay clean, I opted for the black Nexus 5.
Man, if I had known the white wasn't a soft-touch stain magnet, I may have considered it more. That white ear piece grill is ugly, though.
Now that you mention it it makes sense that they wouldnt go soft touch with the white. Makes me long for the black one now. Im not usually one to put my phone is a case, but I think without the softback I might go with a case this time around and see how it works. Regardless, they both look like great pieces of hardware

Man thats disappointing. I was looking forward to the white. Did the back cover feel like the same type of plastic on the white HTC HERO? I Wish I could get hands on both. I was really up for the white but the ear piece looks silver in pics and I thought it would really detract from the gorgeous screen always catching your eye.
Shame they really should have documented that there was a difference in the two models and how they are finished.
Also how did the glossy sides feel of the white one? Im assuming the white is aimed stereotypically at the female market hence the glossy glossy sides.

I don't know how it compares to Hero... My first Android device is the GNex. It feels similar to white Note 3's back.
The sides shouldn't make that much difference in feel, I guess (I didn't check that out).

I've got it in hand and it is really good looking, the back is a soft touch plastic but it is different to the black. The black is identical to the 2013 N7, where as the white is smoother and less absorbent, but still very comfortable.
Let's put it this way, in was stood with the black in one hand and the white in the other, could have had either and I walked away with the white

ALL the phones/tablet he show in the comparison have greasy prints all over
Even the two-year old phone I use everyday is much cleaner...
Yeah looking at YouTube vids the white is soft touch. The sides are definitely glossy I actually think it looks more premium than the black.
However the white earpiece cover is freaking unforgivable in my eyes who thought that was a good idea. Its so freaking distracting.
It may be good so you can quickly pick up the phone the right way up but coming from a gnex my eye is drawn to it since its the same size as the notification light on my nexus.
Also watching any video on this and your always going to be drawn to the white dot. If they were willing to do that they may as well have made the whole thing white. The point in the black front is to stop glare or light reflection so as not to distract from the screen. This does the opposite.
It reminds me of a mini galaxy tab when it first came out. I liked that and I like this just not the white earpiece. Silly design feature.

How to get rid of small scratches on the metal bezel???

As the tittle implies I'm trying to figure out what "kind" of metal it has so I could try some ways to get rid of the scratches and basically look new again...it is possible, anyone know if it's aluminum? Metal. ..chrome plated?
"fighting as one hand one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares"
It's aluminum.
I had the idea to use a nail buffer on it. Being a girl, I have used them on my nails a lot and have had a lot of success buffing metal to a chrome-like shine with them too. I'm gonna try it tonight on the big scratch I have on my bezel. I'll report back with the results.

Oh ok...thanks for the advice let me know how it went! I was thinking about vegetable oil.
"fighting as one hand one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares"
Ok, so I did it and... it worked.
I can still see some evidence of the scratch but it looks MUCH better, I have to hunt for the scratches now and I think if I spent more time on it and used a brand new buffer, it would be unnoticeable.
what nail buffer did you use? And would you please tell us how you did it? Thank you
Smh
This is the one I used, but I'd recommend getting one with a grey buffing surface cause they're a bit smoother & they create a shinier surface IMO. You can get these at any drugstore in the beauty section. I wish I could have taken before & after pics, but unfortunately my phone is my only camera.
What I did was use the second smoothest grit(the purple part) to buff out the scratch first, then I used the pink part to shine it up. You can still see the little metallic lines on it from the buffing process.
I would honestly advise just using a case to cover up the scratches, but this does work to remove them. USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU DO THIS. It is not my fault if you mess up or do more damage! I would tape up the surrounding surfaces by where you'll be buffing just so you don't accidentally nick anything. Take your time & go slow, and keep in mind that its probably not going to look completely factory-perfect, it will just take out the scratches and make it shiny again.

This worked pretty well. I took an alternate route though, I decided to use the slightly coarser edge first and brush it, then buff and polish it with the other sides. If done slowly and properly, you can give the phone a brushed aluminum look which I like a bit better than the polished look. This way also, scratches don't stand out at all.

Good to hear
I actually thought about doing the brushed aluminum look too, I did that on my HD2 back in the day and it looked pretty cool.

Wow... The HD2... That was my first girlfriend... Girlfriend that was dressed with WP7 & Android... That was the love of my life... After that the HD7... Then the HTC Sensation, Samsung Infuse, Note 1, 2, 3, 4... And now the Note Edge... (left a bunch of Nokia Lumia's plus a few Samsung's and HTC's in the way) Sorry... You mentioned the HD2 and I was suddenly dreaming... Off topic, sorry.

I loved my HD2 so much and used it for years. I still have it and occasionally use it as a backuo phone too. One of the best phones HTC has ever made, IMO, development for that little beast was off the charts.
Anyway, back on topic, lol.
Never Dull
This stuff is magical. No Joke.
Never Dull. It's on Amazon. I would link it, but I don't have ability. My dad showed me this stuff when I was a kid and it works incredibly well for dealing with hairline scratches and tarnish.

Replacement screen/bezel assembly?

I managed to ding up my watch pretty bad crashing my skateboard and haven't been able to find any parts for the G Watch R. Does LG sell parts for it or am I stuck scanning ebay for a replacement housing?
ATM there are no spare parts available, We will see those slowly coming to market eventually.
Can you post a picture so I can see the problems? It's ruined that bad that it cannot be repaired?

It is just cosmetic, screen and device are fully functional. I'm very impressed with the durability, as I was going 20+mph and fell with all my weight on it
File the top of the bezel down smooth. It will look better and be a uniform gray circle on the bezel.

I love you.
Looks great. I've seen another post about how to sand it down which came our really nice, but this looks amazing. How did you get it that beautiful and flawless glossy surface?

I used a higher grit sanding sponge until all the paint and imperfections were gone, then followed up with 3000 grit from auto zone. Used Mothers polishing cream to finish it off

If people were willing to ship their watches to me I'd be more than happy to. Though I don't think the finish will last too long as it doesn't have a clear coat on it
