Here's something for you guys to play around with,
the thread will be beautified and completed later.
Now the bare minimum has to suffice
this ROM includes a Wakelock Blocker and a Doze Powersave called feature to make sure your device really sleeps well
So: no Greenify, Amplify, PowerNap, etc. are needed.
From my observation the idle battery consumption is somewhat higher compared to AOSP and CM13 - but still pretty low
In addition it has several goodies from quite a lot other ROMs

Nice! It is still 2016-06-29 here in brazil yet, but I'll give it a try hahahaha. Thanks a lot!
Maybe a obvious question, but it has the same "bugs" as CM? (Like: no fingerprint settings, bad camera and bluetooth issues)

Torch doesn't work, camera next mod will give you a working camera the same as cm13.
No problems with xposed either but think I'm going go with greenify still without more info on the doz mode (doze notification, sensor use).
Fantastic customization options and good enough for my daily driver as don't use my camera much anyway.
Great job!!!

Tempted to give this a cheeky try. Looks the goods, nice one. Good download speeds.

Cm13 is good but u can do so much more with this if u can handle the low quality camera.

Wuhuu, I love the RR ROM. Thank you.
One question tho. I'm assuming this ROM has the unstable Bluetooth issue as well, or what?

Nfc is working now,
Torch works but just as a flash for the camera,
No change in camera quality using camnext mod,
Still getting issue where IP changes with every reboot,
Can't and never have been able to get sun kernel working. Clean install it just hangs forever at RR logo and does the same when I try to install it after a boot with included cm kernel, any one get it working with sun kernel and if so how?
All in all a few improvements over last build and going in the right direction.
Well done devs.
Build in weather won't display on home screen or lock screen though chronus free from play store works fine.

Code:
*** Disclamer

I take no responsibility for bricked devices, marriage breakdowns,
worldwide recessions or acts of God.
Introduction
Hi
I was in two minds whether or not to release this!! It's nothing new, just plain AOSP. It does try and address a few small issues that affect other AOSP based ROMS. For example, the speaker whistle and issues with the Google Camera force closing.
The ROM doesn't have any features that are not included in AOSP except for the addition of Gapps and the Superuser app.
It's a great base if you like using the xposed modules to add you own features, or if you like things light, fast, plain and simple.

Features
Completely stock AOSP with the addition of Google Apps and SuperUser App.
Working:
All core and important functions of the ROM - WiFi, Bluetooth, RIL, Mobile Data. Camera etc.
Not Working:
Nothing I know of, tell me if you find anything!!

I've been using this for some time now and I love it: fast, simple and it perfectly integrates with gravity box and all its customizations!
Plus, it is REALLY the first AOSP rom 100% speaker-whistle free for me! wonderful! :good:
(new google camera also working perfectly )
many thanks to you and of course to @tilal6991 also who made this possible with his great work for omni!
ps. I'm honored, but please remove me from the contributors, I just did some testings!

no bluescreens, it uses new omni kernel/base.. screen added in my previous post (btw just AOSP + gravity box + xposed gel settings for google launcher customizations )
only small bug I encountered so far: the 3G data connectivity symbol disappears sometimes, but I don't care too much (the connection is working anyway even if no symbol is displayed )

Reveal my secret code, are you mad!!!
Well, as you asked so nicely.
The Speaker Whistle was a simple fix. I modified the /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/snd_soc_msm_2x file. I changed it to force the bottom mic to be disabled during calls.
The Camera settings FC is due to the /system/etc/media_profiles.xml file. The Google Camera expects 6 entries in the MediaSettings array. Omni has 8 entries which causes the FC.
If I knew how I would have submitted these changes but my knowledge of Github is very limited I'm afraid..
Hope this helps?

Any ideas on battery life? Main reason for me not to switch to 4.4, is the battery life. OmniRom is great, except for the 3G drain, and other drain....

annyone ??
Gonna give it a try... Downloading ......
which kernel is the best for this rom?
Please do note that no other kernel (apart from Omni's because its probably close to identical) will work with this ROM. Unlike stock, AOSP based ROMs heavily modify the kernel so can not be swapped and changed.

SlimROM is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam works together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and Gerrit.

Known issues:
*Motorola cameras will not work correctly when using non-stock DPI; Victara stock DPI = 480
*Gestures must be toggled off then back on (in settings) before they work correctly
*Root
Apply root via developer settings.
SuperSU doesn't work with the current cm kernel:
Until CM's kernel compression is supported by SuperSU, or until we switch to using a different kernel, the built-in root is our easiest (maybe only?) option.

Awesome work, I was going to do it but got too lazy to sync the repo haha

Nice ROM. Very Fast.
The echo issue fix can easily be incorporated into the build, but have you experienced any downsides as a result of this change?

Hi,
I didn't noticed any problem yet. I did a call with the stock line (from remix rom) "--persist.audio.fluence.speaker=true", echo problem was there. Then I modified it to "false", reboot the phone and did a 5mn call and the loudspeaker was fine.
the other line was already set to "fluence".

A week now with this wonderful ROM... battery gives almost 6h on screen... Biohazard Audio working... just 2 random reboots... but still no found a cause... everything is working...
Slimroms has recently switched from Wednesday to Friday releases, and hosts the general changelog at: https://slimroms.org/#/
There still isn't much customization at this stage, so I'll continue uploading alpha builds, but I probably won't xda-announce them until they reach beta status.
OMS (the replacement for layers) is in gerrit, but I have no idea when that'll be ready for debut.
Cheers

Can you describe this issue further? If I turn the device off, and then restart it, the date and time are incorrect?
I can't seem to reproduce the behavior on Slim. The date and time are always correct, even after I have the device turned off.
These victara builds use CM's device-code, but the ROM is NOT CM-based.

Yeah that'a the issue..... whenever I restart my device, its time goes back to build date and time.... I haven't used Slim yet but I found it on CM and all recent releases of CM based roms.... Guess CM code is resetting RTC at each boot but its just a speculation... Good to hear Slim isn't effected by this bug...
Has anyone been able to gain root access on this ROM? When i tried it, my clock and battery got all funky (Battery registers 4,007% and clock changes time at random) and wifi stops working altogether.

Yeah, this is currently a known slim issue. There's a frameworks issue, and Slim is waiting to see how OMS/substratum works, to decide whether to implement it or not... Glad you're enjoying the rom, there's a little bit more customization every week.

So first impressions: installation on helium (after installer and kernel config was modified)
- installer went without problems
- initial setup wizard went well, asked for both sim cards and configured them, wifi 5ghz ac connected without problem, google happily restored all 175 apps from backup, fingerprint was created and works correctly with pin
- room looks like typical LAOS with blue on white settings
- settings informs that it has march 2017 security fixes
- SELinux is enforcing
- dark settings theme is available in display menu
- there is, in settings menu, a "Configuration" huge menu with different settings to change
- a bug with camera, in 4k recording starts, but there is no counter and stopping recording immediately exits camera app (I did not make any changes to build.prop, only patched core control)
in 1080p counter shows for a second, disappears and nothing else happens, same happens in 720p, other camera apps don't work either (google camera, cinema fv-5, lgcamera, open camera)
- even with "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" in build.prop, recording is still broken
- gps works correctly, as do flashlight
- LTE data works on both sims (can't test VOLTE, my network does not allow it)
- Substratum works, very nice effects with semi-transparent theme
- battery life is good (at least the deep sleep and idle parts), idle power use seems to be about 13mA
I will be updating with further progress and tests
- while Substratum works, main settings page can't be modified with semi transparent background
- benchmark scores are like other LAOS roms (at least with my governor/core control modifications)
- Vulkan support is present

Is the fix in kernel image or in framework/.so file? Because after your fix and flashing Harfix, camera is not working.

i got no problem after flashing same thing as you but i am on hydrogen
Camera issue on Helium is fully fixed on default and Harfix kernel by flashing ajsmsg78's fix https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767140419
It replaces kernel so to use it with Harfix, it must be flashed over after installing the fix.
This also fixes 30s bug.
@aggarwalace sorry for off-topic, but seems you're the only one who is still introducing new rom for MiMax, could you make tesla/validus roms please?

how is this a stupid question, every rom has its own kernel tweaks or whatever optimization you call, just want to hear user's feedback for battery life on this rom. I don't have the spare time to flash and setup everything to discover bugs myself and then only realize the battery life is terrible 3 hours SOT.

Asking for battery life on O roms for Mi Max at this stage of development is stupid... That's is not even a concern right now till we get all hardware working and O roms are suitable for full daily usage.
I don't even get why O roms are posted at all as they are not even ready for testing yet IMO.

Battery life is awesome!!!!
I personally checked it, before some days and yesterday also.
Very less battery is consuming...
Only except said bugs, everything is working and fine according to my knowledge

But, its stable.
Except said bugs, everything is stable so much.
Battery backup is also very good.
For h/w: camera isn't working only.
Hotspot doesn't work in hydrogen, but, work in helium!
VoLTE sometimes working while sending/receiving SMS.
I didn't upload it. But, the famous developers like you are silent, so, users pinched me so much, then i uploaded it

Thanks for another great rom!
Thanks for this hard work
Thank you so much for your work, OP!
Can someone confirm that GPS works flawlessly and fast? I need it fairly often and the missing compatibility was the reason for me for having only stock ROMs installed. But I miss RR, I LOVED it on my S4.
The only major "downside" is the camera that's worse than on stock, right?
it

GPS is not okay, it doesn't work, what you are referring to is location tracking via Mobile Data and Wi-Fi. Look out for next build which should have gps fix.
Flashed it in the morning its been almost 14 hours working super fine few bugs that I am reporting
Sudden reboots
After uninstalling app it reboots
And I am not sure GPS works or not ..
Attaching a log cat..
If its not proper tell me I'll try to take it from adb..
Great work . thanks .

So when I need GPS I should wait? I don't want to bother you with the question of an exact ETA, but will it be a matter of a few days or will it be weeks?
As I said, thank you very much for all your effort and work

Am i the only one that can't flash opengapps 8.1 with this rom?
@ luke, good job. Fast, no reboots even with magisk, all seems to work great. One bug compared to Ivan's build, bt call does not work, only bt media.

Great stuff. Updated from Superman Rom 2.9 [N 7.0] been running it just over 24 hours so far. Battery life is good, very light and responsive. Both magisk and xposed run without issues. So far, so good. Haven't come across any bugs as of yet. Finally able to use Substratum in all its glory with this OMS rom. Thanks
