Xposed not working yet on P9P? - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

I tried flashing the sd23 ver85 Arm64 version but it doesn't install, either I flashed the wrong version or Xposed isn't yet working on the P9P? any idea which? thanks

Ok so it is working one just needs to change the value in one of the lines in the prop folder in System/EMUI.... before one flashes.

Which value, which line in which file in which folder? TA

Install Xposed apk, then go to System/Emui/Base/prop/ open local.prop, look for ro.config.hwtheme=1 change the 1 to a 0, then save. Then flash Xposed in TWRP (make sure to delete caches too) then reboot, takes a while but all is well afterwards with working Xposed.

Happened to me as well, it turned out to be one of the modules I had running.
Disabled & removed it, and it worked fine afterwards.
Also happened once more since, just disabled (but not remove) all modules, as I cbf going through each one, and then re-enabled them. Been working fine ever since.
Only issues I've had, one of which I can't really pinpoint to Xposed, is the Themes app keeps crashing if I try swipe away from the main page. Then again I don't use it, so not a huge loss to me. The other is GravityBox > Navigation Key Tweaks, I had double tap Recent Apps set to some action, and it's now stopped working and acts as per normal.

For Xposed, try Wanams custom build
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3180960
If you read the changelog, you'll see, that it's optimized for Huawei Theme Engine, too. Works flawless 4 me.

That would probably explain why Themes keeps crashing every time i try to swipe within the app.
Should also probably note that I haven't had any Xposed issues since the last time i posted, but I don't really jump into it anymore as I've got almost everything running just how i want.

Xposed Safemode - Disable xposed easily 123

While the device boots you can activate the xposed safemode to disable the framework & modules, without flashing any files and without entering recovery or ROM.
Background:
People are posting when stuck at boot screens or bootloops with xposed installed and there have been lots of great solutions/advice from the community but I have not seen much info posted about the xposed safemode so thought I would share what I believe to be the easiest & first thing to try in order to boot & troubleshoot your setup.
To disable xposed:
1. Repeatedly press any single hardware button during early startup (as soon as device powers on)
2. Wait for device to finish booting into recovery/ROM
3. Fix your setup
Details:
1. The first recognised key press generates two vibrations
2. Then continue to press the same hardware button four more times within 5 seconds
*Each key press generates a short vibration*
3. Success is confirmed with a long vibration
NB
• Activating safemode adds the file 'disabled' (no quotes) to data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/
• The 'disabled' file can be created manually from recovery or rom to disable xposed & modules
• If problems with hardware buttons try pressing the touchscreen to activate safemode
To re-enable xposed:
1. Remove the file 'disabled' using file manager or terminal
2. Reboot
3. Enjoy
***common reasons for xposed related bootloops are due to xposed module/s conflicting with system or each other, and user installing the incorrect framework for the device/sdk. Please investigate these options first and read/search the xposed Q&A OP/thread if you're unsure before posting or contacting devs***

**I cannot guarantee safemode works with every version of xposed or every device but it has always worked for me on differing setups, roms & devices.**
I hope this is helpful and will be updating the post again so stay tuned for more detailed/technical info.

Thanks Man, already knew about it bun didn't know the significant of these vibrations
THANK YOU!!. after spending a whole day in boot loop afer a bad xposed install wih no recovery and a phone that just did get rooted a ZTE r815 assurance wireless lifeline phone I looked for a way to get in it through adb and no where did i find any informating and was ready to call and have the phone replaced when i found your life saving page., wow it was so easy getting out of boot loop .thanks a MILLION !!!
@Lukest85, I just wanted to point out that this is, indeed, a unique idea.
Based upon my experience, this will definitely be extremely helpful to so many others.
Kudos to you!!!

Wow this is a pretty cool and hidden feature, I'm always slightly afraid of installing xposed on no name phones without a recovery but now with knowledge of this it's not so dangerous anymore :cyclops:
A quick question how do I remove all xposed framework files from my phone? I was able to save phone from bootloop by this method and now I want to delete everything about xposed completely, some help will be appreciated.
I lost all my device info after using xposed device I'd masker module and now I'm unable to connect to any network and reinstall the framework again
Plz give me some steps to recover my device I'd again and use my phone
My phone model is Lyf ls4505 and it has no twrp option
And I lost efs folder from device storage
So we don't have to side install this "Xposed Safemode" beauty? Is it actually an Xposed feature? Can we just do the button thing and "Safemode" will rescue our devices?

Good to know (I didn't) but just recently faced this issue and I instead manually deleted all xposed modules from /data/data and data/app and despit having done that, I still could not boot, so i'm unsure if whether or not this would have helped.

Did you try deleting the xposed modulelist from the xposed installer?
/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modules.list
/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/enabled_modules.list
Delete those 2 and it'll disable all modules automatically (no need to uninstall modules even)
I don't know what happened for you, but I do know that every time I have done this when there was a misbehaving module, all modules were automatically disabled (including the offender). Easier too, because you don't have to uninstall everything
Working, but not working
I just installed xposed via Magisk managet. On reboot, stuck at the greyscale Bold Like Us page. Remembered your post. Frantic search followed. EUREKA! I FOUND IT! Shut down then restarted. When phone went into boot process I held one key.

NO RESPONSE....
Tried a few times so far. Both power and down vol work like a charm, but no results. Also tried to boot into recovery, but no joy there either. Am truly puzzled. Any ideas?
Any words of wisdom would be soooo appreciated.

Finally able to boot into Recovery. Flashed Xposed uninstaller, but it did no good. Tried a couple other things, but am afraid of making things worse. So I decided to flash the Magisk uninstaller as well -- which means no more root for the moment. Not a big deal really, as I had just rooted earlier today and I have backups at various stages of the process on a USB with an OTG cable.

Can't login to Snapchat? Solved!

Hi everyone!
If you are using a Custom ROM such as CyanogenMod, and are trying to login to Snapchat, you may encounter this error:
"Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later. If your login continues to fail, please visit support.snapchat.com/a/failed-login".
The reason why Snapchat won't let you login is because your device has root access, or Xposed Framework installed! Yes! You heard right! Snapchat now blocks devices with root access and Xposed installed!
SOLUTION 1: (CyanogenMod Only)
1. Go into "Settings" and find "Developer Options".
2. Then find "Root Access" and change it to "Disabled".
3. Now attempt to login to Snapchat!
4. Now, if your login was successful, you can now re-enable "Root Access" in "Developer Options".
5. Done!
NOTE: There seems to be a problem with Snapchat force closing on Marshmallow/CM13 Based ROM's, so if this happens to you, I'm sorry I do not know how to fix this, as far as I know, there is no fix for this issue.
SOLUTION 2:
1. Download Xposed Uninstaller.zip from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
2. Boot your phone into recovery and flash the Xposed Uninstaller.zip
3. Reboot your phone
4. Done!
NOTE: Once you login to Snapchat, you can reinstall Xposed Framework and everything will work fine.
If you have any problems, please contact me and I will attempt to help you. Thanks everyone!
I can't find root access in my developer options
Hi Uzayr, Are you using CyanogenMod?
Yeah... It keeps force closing... I'm using a rom based on CM13... Is there any way to fix this. I log in, but it force closes itself after I open the app
This seems to be a known problem with Marshmallow/CM13, So as far as I know there is no fix available.

Try using RootCloak
Hey! I have one problem with Snapchat, but I think I've found something that could help to fix it. As many people have noticed in other posts, Snapchat in CM13 based ROMs has FCs, but last night when I powered off WiFi and network conection Snapchat worked and then, when I powered on WIFI and network again, the FCs reappeared. Could it be this relevant to finding a solution? Can it have something to do with the bug of the camera? It happens every time I power off WIFI and network on my phone. Thanks!

Yeah me too ! I have uninstalled the Xposed Framework and also the Root Access but nothing happens ! Still the same problem !
Make sure Xposed Framework is completely uninstalled, then uninstall Snapchat, make sure that you do not have SuperSU installed, reboot your device and reinstall Snapchat and see if that works, thanks.
Tried everything....
Ok so. I have an SM-G930FD (international GS7 exynos), with a custom ROM installed effectively making my phone a SM-N930F (or whatever the code is for Note 7 is) or in other words, it's a ROM that ports all the features of the Note 7 including the model number.
Ever since I installed this ROM I've been trying all sorts of things to bypass the Snapchat log in detection.
I first tried RootCloak.... It didn't work. So then I went on to research and found that Xposed may be the culprit. So, I uninstalled Xposed framework.... that too didn't work. Then I thought maybe it's the presence of the Xposed app on my phone..... Still "log in temporarily failed" .....
Finally, I uninstalled Root and the Super SU app..... and guess what.... it still doesn't work....
I even tried switching between the Standard Snapchat App and the Beta Snapchat App.... Still, doesn't work. :crying:
Is there any other way to make snapchat log in work without having to install the stock ROM for my phone? If there's nothing else, ill just assume its the ROM that triggers Snapchats log in protection.

Okay my problem is solved thanks to @Lewdog45
he said:
I have a solution, it may be a big process but if you are the only person who use's Snapchat on your device then what you can do is:
1. Uninstall root access on your device
2. Log into Snapchat with your normal account (You should be able to log in once you have removed root access)
3. Once you have logged in on Snapchat, you can Re-root your device, and reinstall Xposed Framework if you wanted
VERY IMPORTANT!
If you log out of Snapchat at anytime while you have root access and Xposed installed, you will have to repeat this process.
And he said about unrooting:
Steps:
1. Open SuperSu
2. Navigate to the "Settings" tab
3. Find the "Cleanup" tab
4. Then click on "Full unroot"
5. Done!
VERY IMPORTANT!
If your device says that it's uninstalling root access for more than 10 minutes, try rebooting your device.
After signing in to snapchat you can re root your phone agian and install xposed without any problem
If this helped please thank him and you can contact him on skype "lewdog45" if the problem still presist.
Hi everyone. I'm trying to run snapchat @CM13. If i disable camera permissions it logs in without problems, but every time i enable the camera Snapchat get force closed. Any idea? This happends with or without root anable

rootcloak im unsure as i have uninstalled it (didnt need it) and xtouchwiz i hacent retried. something (maybe a setting in xtouchwiz) was giving me some sim card pop up that wouodnt go away on boot and wouod make me reboot to recovery to do something to ky sim that just failed and the pop up would be there upon boot. i had to odin to get rid of it. it happened 3 times and each time it happened i had rootcloak and xtouchwiz installed. since removing both i hacent had a problem. so no i didnt and i believe one of them caused the problem. if anyone is using both or one or the other let me know what you do and dont have enabled or disabled in each module.

[GUIDE] Xposed on P9 Lite

[WILL NOT WORK ON ANDROID N]
There is no functional Xposed for Nougat (yet)
Hey everyone!
Since there is no dedicated thread for how to install Xposed for the P9 Lite yet, I thought I quickly provide the method how I made it work for future users.
What you need?
- Unlocked BL
- TWRP Installer
- Root
So you want to get the version of Xposed provided by Wanam. Version 86 for arm64 is what you are looking for! You can get it here.
UPDATE: I experienced extreme battery drain and crashing settings with version 86. I am now using version 84 and all is fine again.
Don't worry that it says Samsung devices in the thread.
Download the zip package that you need and place it somewhere. Then download the Xposed installer apk.
For example here in the first post attached.
Install the apk.
Now it's time to fire up TWRP and make a backup!
Then flash the zip you have downloaded before. If you downloaded the right version, it should flash without errors.
Now reboot. BE PATIENT. It can take several minutes for the first boot.
That's it. You should now be able to use Xposed modules like enabling background play on official YoutTube app :victory:
Sidenote: some people mentioned that you may need to switch your SELinux mode to permissive. Since I had it on permissive in the first place I don't know if it's really the case.
PS: leave a like for the guys providing these awesome Xposed frameworks if you download them :good:

Hmm I did not encounter something like this. However, I did receive some errors earlier with backups in TWRP. Maybe there is a bug in this TWRP version for this device.
Afaik it is ported from the Chinese version of the P9 Lite so I don't really know who is working on this.
But it is strange. Have you tried to flash it a second time? Maybe just a weird bug?
Since I was able to install it just fine...
Uhm, i'm bit afraid cause i have done a full reset after that problem. I think i will wait before doing it again

thanks

Yes, i've done it like mentioned above and its working perfectly on my l31. As you see on my Screenshots. Authentication Info with the xposed Flat Style bar indicators and coloured Bars. But after flashing the Framework the Bootlogo showed up for around for 15minutes before booting up. I thought I got stuck in Boot. An started thinking of reflash my Backup. But it booted and its working.
Also getting bootloop on my L31 - complains about not enough space on device when trying to flash.
Hello all just have a quick question which better to use the xposed-v86.0-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160709 or xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64 version or does it matter? Thanks..

I'm using Xstana for status bar and navigation buttons and working fine for me
As far as I know the official and latest version of Xposed works in Huawei, You just have to disable themes in build.prop
Check this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66380010&postcount=30
The flatstyle colored Bars is working without problems. Version 2.1.0 its changing Statusbar color like orange on xda and red on YouTube. An the navbar changes between white Grey and black or transparent depending on Main brightness of the whole window. I've had installed xposed-v86.0-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160709 like mentioned above. And I first thought I got stuck in Boot loop But it run for around 15 minutes before the system booted up. Let it settle and before booting clean Cache and Dalvik.

I don't use a lot of modules... What I do use and highly appreciate is Xprivacy, Greenify and DoubeTapToSleep.

Trimis de pe al meu HUAWEI VNS-L21 folosind Tapatalk
I've installed the official version and it's working like a charm.
Hi, my phone version is VNS-L31/ B105 (Wind branded).
I can confirm everithing is working just fine after installing official xposed apk from the official thread
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811) and flashing the last framework "xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip" from the link in the same thread.
No errors reported during flashing, albeit i just have to wait 5-10 minutes during rebooting before the UI to appear.
I'll give you some tips on some issues i dealt with and some modules i've installed:
1) "DoubleTapToSleep - working
2)GravityBox - not everything is working, i've just set the hardware keys actions to run some applications, but the recents key isn't working as default setting. Power tweaks section isn't working too. QuickSettings aren't working even disabling the two strings in build.prop file.
3)If you want an advanced reboot menu then try the module "NeoPowerMenu". in order to make it working you have to go in advanced settings and enable the function "ExperimentalPhoneWindowManager hook" then reboot and it should be working.
4) XPrivacy - working
5) i experienced problems with some apps that need to stay in background like ZDcalendar for if I close the app from the Recent apps window, the alarms or notifications scheduled are not notified. I suppose it's due to battery saving settings. I solved going to the app section--->then the app I want to manage--->battery--->enabling "keep running after screen off".
i had the same problem with the app Twilight, in fact when i closed the recent apps from the recents window, the app just shut down.
enabling the function mentioned above will prevent the app from closing unless you kill it manually.
Hope this will help, bye!

[ROOT] [Magisk] [Galaxy S6] - Magisk-root uninstalls automatically?

Hello,
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6(64GB, Exynos) with Magisk-root. But I have the issue that it automatically uninstalls. And suddenly it’s unroot. Then I have to reinstall the Magisk-vXX.X.zip with TWRP (X.XX is the version, for example: 14.0 or 13.3). But after some hours it is uninstalled again and I lost the root access.
Then I have to repeat this...
Does someone have the same problem? Or does someone know how to fix this?
I don't want to reinstall the Magisk-package everytime i need root-access.. And I don't want to switch to another root because I like the Magisk-hide-function.
Or are there other roots with hide function?
(I don't want to install a Custom ROM!)
Thank you
Larry

I had the same problem with my Nexus 6P.
I was on stock ROM and stock kernel and it happened twice.
Now I'm on stock ROM and EX Kernel and problems seemed go away.

I have the same problem, galaxy S6.
I noticed losing root randomly and fixed it by going install patch boot img then you flash the boot img in recovery. So far it's been a day no root loss

Hi ! I have sale problem with my S8+ with custom rom and Custom kernel
Hello.
I am having the same issue with my S6. I have tried all of the advice from previous threads with regard to different versions of Magisk.. (Removing Busy Box / Not using the Magisk Hide feature... etc etc..). I have also been through as many extra options as I can think of, getting all of the "Update" patches from the other developers who have helped with the Magisk project.
Each time, I have run through all of the aditional scripts to make sure SU and Magisk have been completely removed prior, and then used Odin to do a recovery back to my Original ROM (a complete system backup image I previously saved).
The other interesting observation i have at the moment is that i can not get to the Log cat files to post them anywhere. I can see where they are supposed to be but the directory is empty "no files". I have even been as far as downloading one of the many "Mobile Forensic" software kits to try and see if there is anything wrong with my phone.
There is only one observation to report. It seems that after installing Magisk (even if you just install the main ROM and not the manager). Google play starts to download straight away... I am not sure what it is downloading as it doesn't ever seem to complete and all of my versions of the apps are up to date.
I hope I will be able to get some more usefull information for you soon (LogCat etc etc.). If any one has an answer or suggested options it would be good. I am particularly interested in getting the Busy Box feature to work with Root as I am working on an app for my job that needs both options (I work offshore and am trying to adapt a piece of Seismic QC software (unix based) to run on phones / tab's - Android).
I will sign up properly and start to follow the threads more closely.
Cheers... Andy

So long story short, there's no definitive solution to the problem. Im using a g920p with a custom kernel built by a genius dev, and i still lose root once a day.
Basically what it comes down to is modules. If you have zero modules, you'll have better luck... But that's not the point of magisk, so you need to be picky with modules. Use osmosis's busybox from the magisk repo, but other than that, install modules 1 at a time and see if it affects root.
Another tip: uninstall all updates of the "device maintenance" app, and find it in Google play and turn off automatic updates. Then go to device maintenance > battery > unmonitored apps and magisk manager to the list of unmonitored apps... Then go back the battery screen, battery usage > 3 dots in top right > optimize battery usage, and make sure magisk manager is not optimized... That should help some. (Note: some models don't have device maintenance, but you'll still have the "optimize battery usage" option some where.)
The Google play thing you're seeing is likely "instant apps" updating. I believe that should be unrelated to all this, but some aspects of instant apps is a mystery.
As for the logcat thing, i believe you're getting logcat confused with the magisk_debug.log located in /data ? If that's the case, you need to be using the beta version of magisk. Go to magisk and set the update channel to beta, you'll get a notification to update magisk, download it and flash. (Or if the recommended native install is an option, use that)
I recommend just using he normal 14.3 magisk... You'll have issues, but they will be predictable and easy to solve with a simple reboot. There's really no final solution for us unfortunately, just making it as stable as possible.
Lastly, it helps if once every once in a while you fully uninstall magisk with the uninstall.zip, reboot (you might not get a bootloop, in which case hold volume up +power+ home to boot into recovery), reflash magisk 14.3, and then wipe cache and art/davik.

Hello again.
So in response.
I followed the advice given... (just as a note previously the root issue would happen within an hour of restarting the device). I have been to the beta thread and read through all advice. Before jumping to the Magisk 14.3, I started with Magisk 14.2, there was a post recommending this as a critical update to Magisk 14.0.
I had no issues with this install (I had once again used my backup to revert the phone back to all original).
I then added any of the modules i wanted one at a time waiting over an hour before looking at adding any additional modules.
So far, I have not lost root and the phone is working as expected (alot better infact). I have all the Busybox modules +add-on's running, still no issues.
The upgrade to v14.2 seems to have fixed all for my uses.
Thanks to all for help and advice.

Glad everything is good! Sometimes magisk will get messed up, so just updating or even reinstalling will fix things.
Just keep in mind, its very likely you'll have problems again down the road... Samsung phones do a lot of weird stuff under the hood, and eventually symlinks will get broken, files deleted etc... So when that does happen, the best you can do is uninstall, reflash, update, and watch your modules.
Today updated to 15.3 and install James DSP root losed...When open magisk ask for installation reboot to recovery twrp install latest zip reboot open magisk it close it self and root lost again ?! Any advice from @topjohnwu
Do you guys mind posting a resource that shows how to root the S6 using magisk? I'm very rusty, last time I dealt with rooting was 8 years ago. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
