Orzly or Pleson? - OnePlus 3 Accessories

This might sound dumb, but is it absolutely important for me to get rid of the screen-protector which the oneplus three comes with, before applying the tempered glass and why?
Also which tempered glass should I go for, Orzly or Pleson?

I have only seen the Orzly one so please check out my review, it is great!:

Got my Pleson today and really liking the coverage, touch sensitivity, thickness and clarity of it. Fits perfectly in my otterbox and cut outs are perfectly placed
I'd say each are good options. I'd probably go with whichever can be delivered to you quicker

It has the same "dots" issue as the orzly has, I guess. Can you confirm it, please?

Based on your comment, your screen protector is "fully glued"(can you confirm?), compare to the same product made by Orzly(received mine today) but it has plenty of minor dots between the black frame and it is really-really annoying (almost impossible to read the screen in sunlight and even worse when the screen is off) contacted to the seller(bought from amazon) and they confirmed Orzly used glues to the black frame only to prevent the issue you just mentioned. It looks like both glass protectors are "faulty".

I've got a Yootech one in and I might put it on today cause my Pleson is pissing me off. Support doesn't seem to understand my problem after 3 email exchanges with them either. The packaging is literally the same between them so theres a pretty good chance they're the same exact thing.

same here, but far smaller.
if i wasn't such a perfectionist i might not even notice.

Have the same halo effect on the orzly tgsp but much more so unfortunately, contacted vender and they said it was normal,
Much more discussion on this on the orzly tgsp specific thread

I bought the Yootech version of this and it sucks! It has a chip in the upper right hand corner within 12 hours of applying it on my phone. The phone has been in my pocket all day with nothing else in my pocket. Quality is seriously lacking. I am quite dissappointed. Steer clear of this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HM3LUU6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't buy the Yootech for the reason noted above. I have owned dozens of tempered glass protectors and this one is SERIOUSLY FRAGILE. I don't even know what could have caused it to chip besides sliding it in and out of my jeans...

I have to actually disagree with Thatton, I have the YooTech protector and it has been really good so far, a small halo appeared once but has now gone again, and hasnt been seen for days. I have had no such cracking either, just my 2 cents.

They got back to me last night and are sending me a replacement. Hopefully the new one is better. The fit is great for sure.

i get it with the Yootech one, i only notice in very bright areas, when screen is on, i don't notice it, sometimes it seems to go away too, but still comes back, i have had mine for about a week now. So did i just put it on wrong?

You have installed it correctly.
I think this problem is common with TGSP which stick only on side

anyone have issue with it fitting on the phone while in the one plus 3 official case. I put an orzly on and it raises it up a bit and i get dirt and dog hair under it.
tempted to go back to a plastic film screen protector as i like my case.

[Review] MIME Ghost Glass (Tempered glass screen protector)

Hi guys. Just thought I'd post this quick review of the Ghost glass from MIME USA which I received last night.
Code:
Disclaimer: I am in no way endorsed by, or work for MIME USA.
I have however, bought a Ghost glass from them previously, for my S4.
I am in no way responsible for any physical, psychological,
emotional or mental damage caused by my honest opinions.
The glass protector can be bought here.
I bought it last Friday, it arrived on Tuesday, even though estimate was 7-12 business days. Not bad.
The protector came well packaged as usual.

I used the famous hinge method to apply the glass protector. Pretty much went ok. Just took a big of patience to get it aligned correctly. And even then, I think the alignment went a little bit off in the end. Trying to control my OCD now.
Here's what the phone looks like after application of the protector:
As you can see, to some it may look a bit odd as the design was made not to cover any of the sensors or the speaker grill.
It also doesn't cover the whole glass from edge to edge. There's a slight gap. IT does cover the whole touch screen area though.
I also had a couple of small air bubbles, but they have mostly disappeared throughout the day. Only one annoying one is left on the bottom right of the phone, but thankfully not on the screen itself.
Any question, please feel free to ask.
Hope that helped.
That's def different than what's shown in their picture. I have one on my OnePlus and it's nice, but I have a crack in the corner... How it got there, I have no idea since it's in a TPU case all the time and I haven't dropped it. Overall, a nice piece of glass, but I wish the cut out on top was just two cuts. One for camera, one for speaker and sensor. I'm a little iffy on those that just chop off a portion of the top. It still leaves the screen exposed.

Indeed. Incredibly misleading. Will buy a cheap ebay one instead (have a Mime on my S4 and really like it but the look of this G4 protector is ).
I have been a huge fan of Mime for years. Had them on my Nexus 5 and my Lg G3. by far the best screen protectors for those phones with just a cutout for the speaker and they worked just fine. all of the sensors. I emailed them about their version for the LG G4 and i see it had a bunch of cutouts and i am very disappointed in the design this time around. They seem to now be doing cutouts on all their new designs

Indeed. I think I remember some discussions on other forums where they were complaining that the glass was covering some sensors and causing issues. Which is probably why they changed the design so drastically. I'll probably keep it on for a bit to see if that pesky air bubble goes, but then I'll probably end up getting rid of it. Perhaps an Orzly?

Thats the one I have on mine but I paid $10.90 everything dropped in price the week of release last week it was higher but thats ok. I always did like Mime protectors but seeing this one with those cut out look like trash. Will see how this one holds up over time. What I liked about the Skinomi is that its edge to edge and I have a Otterbox Defender on the phone minus the Defenders Plastic screen protector and with the Skinomi on it all glass with the MIME you will see those ugly cutouts.
Anyone with this screen protector noticing issues recognizing taps?
yeah i feel like my when i try and type its not picking up the taps i was thinking maybe cause of the curve of the screen the protector is not sitting completely on the screen which is why it might be missing taps
I only have issues in direct sunlight. The taps seem harder to register. Besides that it seems normal to me.

OnePlus 3 Tempered Glass suggestion

I live in desert area and there literally unlimited amount of sand everywhere!
can anyone suggest me a good tempered glass? I have checked some on amazon but reviews says they suck!
I have had two different TGSP now and they both End up the same. Does not stick to the edges due to the curved screen. But mine does not Collect lint at all even though it does not adhere to the screen.
I have not tested orzly or similar but they seem to work bad with cases so.. heard though that orzly were coming with a new model soon that is slimmer.
Tried a few, all junk.. Until i bought the orzly brand. The one with the black tinted frame.
I could be lucky but It fits perfectly, stick securely to the screen and is now holding for 10days of very heavy use without a scratch or bubble or anything.! Can be used with the original sandstone cover and does cover the whole screen!

I think it is the best for phones with cases even though there are issues with the "Halo" and it doesn't go edge to edge. The edge to edge or full coverage tgsp pull up with cases.

It depends on how you are aligning the TGSP. For my personal preference I've installed it a little more towards the left side to maintain perfect readability and on the left I can see 1.5 mm halo effect that is like some 2.D visual bending effect. With the screen on you notice a some small rainbow effect but that is the only noticeable distortion. I will send some picture later
Has anyone tried the TGSP from OnePlus? Does seem to be on the pricier side, but since it's from OP, it shouldn't have any problems with fitting at least

This is like the only quality tgsp available in my area, so can you tell me, does it fit with casings like the tudia merge? Cause I'm thinking of buying/
Using Nilkin Amazing H+ PRO. It doesn't stick all the way because of the curved screen but it doesn't colect dust in those gaps. Actually no glass for OP3 sticks to the very end. It's all transparent (no black areas), and covers the front camera.
I saw this review and went for it. Can confirm that everything in the video is true.
EDIT: Can't confirm any compatibility with cases since I don't have and don't use any.
EDIT: Got a refund, the glass started to completely come off the top of the phone, and what with covering the notification light and a bit of the front-facing camera, that was the end of it.
I put the Pleison tempered glass protector on my OP3 yesterday; it's the 'new version' screen protector found on Amazon. It's OK, it covers the screen (I've also got it in a Spigen Neo Hybrid case), but the cutout for the front-facing cam isn't exact, there's a bit of 'shadow' on the right-side of the cam when you go to take a picture/video chat/etc. It also completely blocks the notification light, which is a PITA.
The top of the protector isn't 100% adherent to the screen, there's just a tiny bit of gappage that you can feel. Also, it makes it a little less than responsive when swiping down to open up the status bar/Notification Bar, you have to make sure to press a little harder than you normally would.
There was a little 'rainbow' effect going on when I first installed it, but that went away by the end of the day. All in all it seems like one of the better protectors out there, given Amazon reviews, but I don't think any company's got it down 100% yet. I have no idea why......

Brought the OnePlus TGSP with the phone a few months ago. The glass is the same size as the film that came with the phone, so it doesn't cover edge to edge. Pretty annoying because there's about 1 mm gap on each side between the edge of the screen and the TGSP. I haven't put it on yet.
It seems like all of the TGSP leave a halo effect based on the reviews.
I am using the Orzly glass and I am not fascinated about it.
Yes it covers the whole screen, yes it is compatible with the original OnePlus Snadstone hard case.
What i don't like is that it collects a lot of fingerprints thus making the screen hellish in direct sunlight. Add this to the clearly visible dots and one of the advantages of OP3 is gone.
I am still researching for a good TGSP and might try the new one from OP.

Dear Panicos,
We have changes regarding CP+ today evening, the production department
notified us regarding editing the mold of CP+ for Oneplus 3, it'll be
available in 3-5 days.
Sadly we can't exactly tell what's going to be modified.
We can send you TPU case in separated parcel for now and if you're OK to
wait the result of reissued CP+, we can send it later or refund later.
There are also an option of H+ Pro glass (it's transparent).
Thanks for understanding and awaiting your reply,
Nillkin.org team
i was just looking at ordering this one as well...
i wonder if the black edges cover actual display space like the OnePlus official one.
Clickable Link
noticed that this same screen protector is a bit cheaper on eBay...
I have order from there site just to be sure that is the real one and if i have a problem i will deal with directly. About the display space they claim that is a perfect fit ,in anycase is much cheaper than the official and any other TG out there that cover the all screen and the adhesive is in the whole screen protector how worst it could be.
For me the equation is easy to explain with this new protector: screen with all curved edges + flat* tempered glass above = bad combination.
*The new versiĆ³n, like the older, both are completely flat.
When, in his first tempered glass, they consider as "normal" the halo effect due to the curvatures of the screen ... that's not normal.
The only who fits to the characteristics of the screen is the official of OnePlus and it is because it is made in two parts integrated in one piece, tempered glass flat and a curved frame (not glass) that adapts to curved parts from the screen. For this reason it is more expensive (there are others more expensive and worse, like RhinoShield $24.99), is like to buy two protectors. The problem with the official of OnePlus is you will lose 0.9 millimeters on the sides of the screen.
So, after having spent a lot of money in bad protectors, expensive and cheap, of premium brands and unknown ones (including the first Nillkin, I consider a great brand) I think by now I can live with the limitations of the official of OnePlus, by the way, it fits like a glove.
Any advise of a good screen protector?
I got the same udpate from nillkin, 3-5 days of delay. I hope it's good, will report once I will receive it.

The 2.5D one works fine with cases, but be aware that the H Pro series do not stick well on the edges, if you read the end of the item descriptions you will see that they specify this. I ended up taking it off, because it looked bad, but every case I had worked fine.
The CP+ does not have this issue from what I see.

I'm interested in this tempered glass.
If you buy please update this thread!
Thanks
Dont have that. I found on previous phones that the tempered glass options are usually to thick for me. I have a screen protector on but its a thin one and does the job for me.
cheers

i'm still thinking of it. my biggest concern is if it will fit with a case
https://www.honorbuy.com/1065-redmi...otection-tempered-glass-screen-protector.html i have this one (looks like the one you wanna buy). so far so good, it covers the whole screen. the black area has some sort of adhesive that takes care of the 2.5D area near the edges. touch works great on the buttons bar too (doesn't feel as well as the original screen but good enough) the screen colors/contrast are a bit worse, but you can adjust for that from settings.
it's not gonna be as good as without the protector, none of them are gonna works as well as the original screen, but if you don't like it, can't adjust to it you can always take it off.
edit: aaand 10 days later the protector cracked/broke on the buttons cover part. had to take it down.
markw is a cheap phone, and with ugly white upper and down sides, i think it is better use it without any glass.

if you can see the tempered glass got border around it. Actually perfectly match with Redmi 4 prime screen 5" but it would look kinda weird and made me feel unsatisfied due it covered original phone border. I wanna share a picture but i don't know how, and I a new user. Or you can search on youtube for more detail.

Same problem with http://www.gearbest.com/screen-protectors/pp_591930.html - the border of the tempered glass is covering like 0.5mm of each side of the screen. I made me crazy , I had to tear it off.
just got this one and find it looks better due to lack of visible gaps around edges due to 2.5d screen. Found previously screen protectors cracked easily for the same reason, found this causes the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen to be less responsive which is a bit annoying, will report back when had it on longer than a weekend.
I originally ordered a screen protector for mine from Ebay since I got the phone pre-launch. That screen protector was excellent, it had no borders and just worked a treat. It was completely clear and the only issue I had was on the edges. It didnt make full contact. Over time it eventually got a small crack and that was the end of the it. It lasted approx 4-6 months though.
My wife on the other hand got that one you linked (with the borders) from Gearbest and it was so bad I just asked for a refund. The border was actually smaller than the screen and it was just really bad. Do not get one with a border. Dont do it!

Just ordered two, as the borderless I ordered the last time broke when I tried to remove the protective film
I'm a little late but to add my experience to that.
I had such a black color frame.
+ it looks nice
+ perfectly fits
I was not satisfied
--- the adhesive is only on the periphery under the color
--- when you knock, it floats, because the transparent part is in the air
--- Some models do not see bottom-buttons at all
Total failure.
hello.please someone suggest me a good t.glass that is antioil and fingerprints free.I tryied asling t.glass but phone gets so dirty from fingers that in daylight is almost impossible to see the screen!also it has to be 1-2mm smaller to fit perfect..thanks!
I don't see any t-glass that'll fit, I only use TPU films. They r a bit flexible and often labeled as anti-break, nano explosion...etc. They can cover almost the edge (mybe only 1-2mm from the end side of the screen, abt the inner bezel of the side screen)
thanks dude. can u suggest me one from ebay please?

Try searching for "nano film" or "anti-explosion" and TPU films for Redmi 4 Prime. Nano liquid will work too but only protects from scratches, doesn't protect from LCD breakage. It's abt US $5+ in my local market and they mostly will specify its full coverage, which is NOT possible for ANY tempered glass
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Nano-TP...6f:m:ml_kfYd27Uqd8wea7U0gqHQ&var=422957604565
This is a sample posting but not for redmi 4 prime

case friendly screen protectors for note 8

hey guys
like many here i pre ordered the note 8. i also have a UAG Monarch case pre ordered.
since this is my first phone with a edge screen i noticed that it will be kinda hard to find a good screen protector. for 2 days im looking through amazon to find something but for now it seems impossible to find something decent.
glass screen protectors seem to be really bad on edge phones so i really don't want or need one of those. also because i only get a screen protector for minor scratches and not for other reasons like a shattered screen.
also there are so many cheap asia products which seem to be from the same factory but just rebranded with different names. the protectors, the packaging, everything looks the same except the name on it. mostly them, but also many others got so many fake reviews that i will not buy them ever, even if they were really good, which i doubt.
for example stuff from those companys: supcase, profer, cubevit, g-color, danibos, klearlook, moko, yootech and so on. all fake and crap.
i also looked for a s8+ screen protector just so i can see which brand is good and which one i should get for the note 8 but there isn't even something good for the s8+. WTF!!! even the one from spigen seems to be crap.
so can any one in here recommend me a simple nice tpu screen protector with edge sides covered which will also be case friendly???
i had a s4 before and i took of my screen protector 6 months ago. since then i got many minor scratches even tho i got nothing then my phone in my pockets. so i don't want this to happen with my new phone.
please guys im getting crazy here. only 10 more days to find something. thanks!!!
ok i think i will try this one and hope it will be good.
maybe someone else in here tried this brand already on s8/s8+ and can tell me something about it?
thanks!!

I'm not a big fan of plastic protectors - in terms to protecting against scratches they are better than nothing, but generally suffer from poor oleophobic properties, don't feel as "slick" as glass, and sometimes mark up when using the S-Pen.

+1 glass is much better way to go!
i gave in and had best buy put on an invisibleshield hd on my note 8.. I am pleasantly surprised by the nice feel and so far no spen issues with marking..its case friendly and im glad i had them apply it.. (also price matched for $19.99 from zagg) i went through 2 different tempered glass ones off amazon ..Honestly i think im going to keep this one on for the duration.. it fits perfect and since its case friendly theres no lifting up at the edges.
Bought a tempered glass sp for my note, fits perfect even with the Samsung view case

I don't care if it's edge adhesion, I'm just looking for one that won't let water or dust in. Any ideas aside from whitestone?
Maybe it's too early. Have wait for manufacturers to catch up.

The one that came with my case is good. No issues with sensitivity and it's clear. Works well and fits perfectly inside the case.

Check out the current thread on whitestone. There's no way I'd pay $50 for one protector. I bought three for a fraction of the price of one of theirs and am totally satisfied with the one I'm using now.

There obviously could be a huge variation in the quality of the sticky-edged/dot-matrix type protectors, but it's difficult to imagine any coming close to the performance of the Whitestone with regard to sensitivity, clarity, fit and feel.
The Whitestone isn't cheap, but it is very good.

Yeah I get that. Using the one that I linked, I honestly can't justify paying the price for whitestone. It can't be 5 times better but costing nearly 5 times more.... It needs to be.

Well, the Whitestone is 100 times better than the p.o.s. protector I put on to start off with.

Lol yeah I hear ya. The first one I used was absolutely a p o s.
I'm really happy with this $15 one though
How is about this Ghostek case? How is the sensitivity? Anyone every try this before?

This works well for me.
Note 8 screen protector/cases
I have the Note 8 with a Zagg HD Clear Invisible Shield (not the glass one) and a Otterbox Defender case. Not happy with either. The Defender case pushes on the edges of the screen protector and it peels up. Not too happy with the Otterbox Defender holster. It's flimsy and doesn't hold on to the case very well. I have problems with my phone being popped or pulled out of the holster of something rubs or catches on it. It comes out pretty easy. It's not held in the holster very well at all. Anyway, I just purchased a Whitestone. I hear they're the best glass protectors. As far as compatible cases, I know there are some YouTube videos that people test screen protectors with various cases.
