Boot Animation for Nexus 6P - Nexus 6P Themes and Apps

Way back when, I had a Nexus S. This is an image of a favorite boot animation that I used:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have recreated the boot animation, and scaled it for the Nexus 6P (i.e., 1440x2560).
The original by Xen_0s is here.
Just copy the attachment to /system/media/bootanimation.zip. You should probably set permissions to 644 as well. (Note: The attachment is not flashable.)

Great work. Thanks. Looks very nice on the 6P.
There is a bit of lag when the inner light hits about 2 o'clock. Other than that, very fluid.

Noted. The same 'flaw' is in the original boot animation. I've contacted Xen_0s to see if he still has the original graphics so that this can be fixed.

Thanks for sharing, this is a pretty cool ani.
Do you know if you can add a boot sound?
I'm used to Samsung and you could add a sound to PowerOn.ogg.

I believe this will work:
1. Download attachment and unzip it.
2. Put bootanimation.zip and PowerOn.ogg in /system/media.
3. Set permissions for both to 644 (rw-r--r--).
If that doesn't work, you'll need to research how to fix it yourself. (This is not really my forte. Just sharing what little I know.) You can unzip bootanimation.zip, edit the desc.txt file as needed, and then zip it up again with this command:
zip -rn .txt:.png bootanimation.zip desc.txt part0/*
Good luck

[BOOT ANIMATION] Finisher! (Ultimate Kill)

I did not create the original animation. It can be found all over the web and I have no idea who created it. Credit goes to him/her.
This boot animation is based off of this gif:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I added a background layer, removed almost 200 frames (the original was almost 900 frames) optimized the images and made an "ERIS" loop at the end.
.
Note: Sometimes my phone boots up too fast and the animation doesn't make it all the way to the end. Please report how your phone does and I will update accordingly. Enjoy!
That's a badass bootanimation thanks for your work,any way you know how to change the in call screen?

lmao @ this ^ guy
doesn't work on at all on my phone. Evil Eris 3.0 rooted, etc.
I did install it through the recovery menu though. Is there anything specific beyond "Install zip file" that needs to be done?

Yea you don't flash this through recovery. Put it in your tools folder on your pc and "adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/"

ah. guess I'll have to wait till I get home from work to try it out then.
Get root explorer in market you can move it from SD card or to data/system/media and paste and it'll ask to overwrite and Say yes. Do easy and fast
Just installed, rebooted phone and runs perfect. No changes that needs to be made that I can see, looks awesome! I keep running adb shell bootanimation just so I can keep watching it. Great job

[BOOT ANIMATION] AT&T-mobile

After seeing some photos of the AT&T logo as the Death Star, I decided to make a boot animation to encompass the idea. I found a video on youtube of the Death Star testing its powers. I edited the Death Star to have the AT&T rings around it, and made the planet pink to represent T-mobile. This is a landscape boot, uses the whole screen.
Please read. I am not responsible for your phone or your illiteracy. Also this is setup for 480x800 px. If you have different, you can change the output size in the desc.txt
FLASHABLE VERSION PUTS THE BOOTANIMATION.ZIP IN /SYSTEM/MEDIA

I have 2 ways of putting it on your phone;
1: Non Flashable - Drop in system/media (or where ever your bootanimation.zip is located) and set permissions to look like this with root explorer
2. Flashable - Put on the root of your SD and boot into clock work recovery and choose flash zip from SD.

Nice bootanimation , i don't have AT&T but it's stil nice bootanimation
Soooooooo...... if you're bored this weekend, why not just remove the AT & T stuff at the end
Not going to be board at all. Just go into the zip and delete the part1 folder, then delete the last line of the desc.txt.

This bootanimation.zip file needs to go into /system/media.
1. Use Root explorer to just copy it from your SD card to that location.
OR
2. ADB or Terminal Emulator:
Assuming your /system partition is set to rw (read-write), you just open a command prompt and cd to the directory containing the bootanimation.zip. You then type "adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media".

The instructions seem simple enough, but I, for the life of me, can't get it to show up? I haven't messed around with bootanimations but I tested using a different one (Apex's) and it worked fine.
did you test the apex animation on the illuminance rom?
if people got this to work, please post here and give us your detailed instructions for mounting this on the illuminance rom. thanks!

All I did was rename apexboot.zip to bootanimation.zip, place it in /system/media and restart!

Ok. Can you attach the apexboot file if possible? I would like to check it out and figure out where the problem resides in this custom bootanimation.
Thanks In Advance!
Sure thing. Here you go!
thanks a bunch!
Glad to see you got it working. Looking good

on the kernel flash file, look for bootanimation.zip wich can be located on data/local ... or ... system/media
If you already flashed the kernel and want to change the bootanimation to your own ... look for the files in the place i mention above on your phone and delete them or replace them to one u like
Note: Most kernel flash bootanimation to data/local, if u already had one, just the delete the bootanimation.zip from that directory and i will go back to the one u had before flashing kernel!
Take care
thank you so much, but unfortunately that didn't quite work.
well in my case I want to remove the firekernel bootanimation, the second screen after turning your phone on its before the little android sign and after the samsung sign. (basically the black screen where it says Samsung galaxy ace). I tried adding this line to build.prop (ro.kernel.android.bootanim=0) but that didn't work either.

This is not the bootanimation. It is the splash screen.

Decompile boot.img with kernel tools given by Ketut.Now decompile Ramdisk.Now make a blank png with paint or w/e thing you have.Now,convert it into rle,again using ketut's tools.Replace the rle in ramdisk with the one you made.Now,compile it back.You now have a black/empty splash image.This is as close as you are going to get

[Boot Animations] OmniROM by dt192

I am not a huge fan of the omni font, or the shutter effect, or the black background, so I made these.
Simply rename the zip bootanimation.zip, put it in /system/media/ overwriting the current animation and set its permissions to 0644 (rw-r--r--).
Alternatively put it into /data/local/ set its permissions to 0644 (rw-r--r--) this will override the original boot animation and persist between flashes.
The animations with + after the name are suitable for that resolution and larger, animations without + after the resolution will only fit right on that resolution of phone.
See next post down for previews, obviously the animated previews below are of lower quality than the actual in phone animations

I'm torn between 5 and 6, but think I'm sticking with 6 since its the original omni colour, the others look too bright on the over saturated i9100 screen even though I lowered the brightness of them once already.

I can not find /local in /data. Also, in /data, there is another /data that loops back to the first.

Probably easier to do it the other way then or i guess you could try creating the directory with permissions 0751, might work
Hey this looks great!
Can I change the animation like this in every ROM?

Hi, as far as I am aware these should works on most roms, just see if you have a bootanimation.zip in your system/media folder, if you have then these should work fine
