Earpiece stopped working - tried everything

The earpiece on my G1 stopped working completely. The only way that I can make or receive calls is to use the speaker phone. I'm running Cyanogen's 2.1.
I've done several full wipes. Reinstalled CyanogenMod from the very beginning. Installed SuperD and then Cyan again. Flashed my Nandroid backup. Flashed the newest radio. Checked the obvious things like in call settings and volumes.
When I'm in a call, the other person can hear me but there is no sound coming from the ear piece. This happened seemingly overnight. A few days ago it was working fine then I tried to make a call and thought I didn't have service because I couldn't hear it ringing.
Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thank you.
This happened to me when my G1 dropped down on the carpet from 30cm height.
I had to open the phone and to resettle the earspeaker. Everything was ok afterwards
Hrmm I'll give that a try tonight. Thanks!
I really shouldn't be allowed to repair my own electronics. After an hour and a half of tinkering, I finally got the phone open. I didn't have the right sized philips to take the screen apart. I used an eyeglass repair kit, a Dremel with cutting wheel, an adjustable wrench and knife. A broken plastic clip and snapped screw later, I had the screen off. I was sure that I had broken my phone, so I put it back together real quick and turned it on. Not only did the screen still work, but my earpiece speaker magically works now.
You can't even see the Dremel cutting wheel marks all over the phone with my Seidio case on.

What is this white cable for?

My HD7 was dropped in water and was immediately dried without the battery. It was working fine until I charged it overnight. Went to check the phone in the morning and it was stuck on the bootloader/rainbow screen.
I dissembled the phone to put in rice for 24 hours to dry out any residual moisture, and in doing so, accidentally tore this white cable from its plug.
I've "seemingly" repaired that cable and reassembled the phone and it now works fine EXCEPT, no audio is being projected from the loudspeaker.
Calls work fine, I can hear from the internal speaker, but no notification sounds are being played. No ringtone, keyboard clicks, text notifications, nothing. All the phone settings for those features are on, and I've cleared the contacts for where the speaker makes contact with the circuit board, but it's still not working.
Is this white cable responsible for sound? If not, what is it?
Judging of the plug on the left hand end, it looks like a coaxial cable which means it could either be for
1) WiFi or,
2) GPS antenna
You might as well need to make sure these two work fine.
I don't think the cable is related to audio in any way; try cleaning the loudspeaker contacts before putting the phone together. These [email protected] tend to be very tricky, it's happened to me quite a few times with other phones.
Good luck.

Just Another Car Install

Finally got around to making a video of my Nexus 7 (2013) install in my 2003 Toyota Sequoia:
https://youtu.be/CjpAQHARNO0
I completely replaced the factory radio with the N7, and connected it to my factory JBL speakers and connected my steering wheel controls (including the Mode button) with a Joycon.
The only thing left is to get phone audio to work through the N7, when placing or receiving calls (folks can hear my through the amp mic but I can't hear them). Supposed to be an android limitation...but there's got to be a solution. For now, I just don't take calls when driving. So far, that's been a win!
How do you think it will hold up on hot days under extreme heat?

hi guys, i removed the battery from my nexus 7, i put it in the car directly from cig lighter charger. the screen sometimes goes fully black, then other times it goes all white or green and the only solution is to remove the power source, wait a bit and plug it back in. what can cause this? if i plug it into the charger at home, i don't see this happening. i left it on charger during the whole night and in the morning it was still running. i tried it with a power bank and the result is the same, it goes crazy...

Samsung Note5 headphone jack stopped working!

Alright, this took me off guard as it was an "accidents".
So, this is how it went,
I was in a parked car drinking juice, somehow i spilled the juice on myslef and it went in me jeans pocket, while my phone was upside down in my pocket, i didnt notice it olny after a min so i dried ot up with tissues and i went home, upon reaching home i inspected my phone and this was the damage, my speaker was rattling if played music the s-pen was soaked and i didnt knew anything about the headphone jack.
So, i start drying it with tissues, i rolled some tissues and shoved it in the s-pen jack and its working all fine and i blowdried the speaker and its working fine now but after i cleaned the headphone jack with tissues, well its not working, when i plug my headphones in the phone does not recognise the headphones at all and it plays music throught the speaker,
WHAT DO I DOOO. PLEASE HELP.
EDIT: this is around 7 -8 hours after the accident and the headphone jack is now perfectly fine,it just needed time to fully dry
So, if you happen to have the same problem as i did
Please, just roll a tissue and shove it in the jack and roll it around do it a couple of times and just let your phome to sit , and your phone should be perfectly fine.

vibration doesn't work after tearing down phone

I just ended up replacing my nexus 6 battery since it was on its way out (not holding a charge for very long). I followed this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+6+Battery+Replacement/35878
After tearing down the phone the only real issue I ran into was on step 5 where you're supposed to "unplug the battery connector", mine ripped and didn't come off. But seeing as that was solely for the wireless charging feature I shrugged it off and continued on.
I installed the new battery and it's working just fine but I noticed now my vibration doesn't work, well it does but maybe at 2% capacity. I can BARELY hear a slight buzz when pressing the home button. And I mean a SLIGHT buzz, I can't even feel it vibrate and I have to stick my ear to the speaker to even hear it.
Is there a ribbon I might have disconnected when putting the phone back together? Does anyone know where the vibration motor is or have any ideas?
The vibration motor is mounted directly on the motherboard. The only thing I can think of is maybe the side button assembly has some influence (step 7 here). I doubt it, particularly if the power and volume buttons work as expected after reassembly.
So I tore apart the phone again last night and took a look at the motherboard, I didn't really see anything that stood out to me in regards to the vibration motor and any connections for it. I saw the vibration motor but it looked fine. So I closed up the phone and hooted up and my vibration worked! But I was stupid and forgot to add this rubber piece over a connector. I once again took apart the phone, put on the connector, tightened it back up and my vibration doesn't work again...
I'm wondering if something is getting pinched..
Maybe the battery is not shaped to match the curve of the phone. Often people have to mold it a bit so it's not pushing things apart.
