Oxygen OS 3.2.1 Released - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Source: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...s-starting-on-oneplus-3.454469/#post-15056543
Usual 48h to hit devices thing is probably in effect here swell but i'm sure the VPN trick will work for most if you're impatient or waiting for this fix for your SIM issue.
The changelog seems to have added just the SIM fix but for some reason the changelog on the phone says there's more Notification fixes but have to wait and see on that
Here are some of the highlights:
Fixed some notification issues
Addressed SIM recognition issue
Enabled sRGB mode in developer options
Improved RAM management
Improved GPS performance
Enhanced audio playback quality
Updated custom icon packs
Improved camera quality/functionality
Fixed some issues in Gallery
Implemented latest Google security patches
Fixed bugs in Clock/Music apps
Thanks to @Patschi_ for the links

When I'm trying to install the ota update I'm getting an error 7 in TWRP. TWRP, root and xposed are systemless. Do I have to unroot to install the OTA?

Are you using the System Update option on the phone to install or the Zip file? either way normally any changes to the system will make OTA fail (like root and xposed)

Actually no. You don't have to unroot but you need to flash stock boot.img . Better option always is to flash Full 3.2.0 ROM twice (sometimes first flash doesn't succeed) and then 3.2.0 -> 3.2.1 OTA immediately and then SuperSU and Xposed. Or wait for Full ROM mirror. Will take me some 20 minutes more. I am downloading it at the moment.

Yes, I tried to install the downloaded ota file via TWRP. Guess I have to download the whole 1.2 GB to get the 15MB update.

Sorry for the question, just to be clear:
I install the full ROM in twrp, install it again without rebooting and after that immediately SuperSU?
Do I have to wipe Cache/Dalvik?
After that I reboot and all the apps are still there?

Spotted this and just VPNd it my self.
Fingers crossed i get less drain over night

If you install the full 3.2.1 rom just install it once, then supersu and THEN wipe cache/dalvik. Your apps will be still there he just needs to optimize them at the start(might take 10 minutes).
If you want to use this "trick" to install 3.2.1 OTA over a 3.2.0 full rom, i have no clue. But i would rather install the full rom. I tried it with the OTA last time and it didn't worked.

daclaus, you have to install the complete rom via twrp, after that you have to install root and xposed again. ota will not work with twrp.

[SOLVED 2.07][BUG 1.94]: endless loading of apps and logs fragments

Thread specifically about finding and solving the issue that some are seeing where the apps and logs screen of SuperSU will load indefinitely, while su access does keep working.
r25txe said:
Hi @Chainfire
I just tried the 2.04BETA to see if my issue was resolved, to no avail.
I was wondering have you had any reports of certain settings not being configurable and the "apps" and "logs" tabs endlessly refreshing, i.e., you cannot see what apps you have approved or denied.
My root does work, I can approve or deny requests normally, it's just I cannot go back if I want to reconfigure an app's root access or review logs. Unchecking the refresh app and logs automatically has no effect.
In the settings, uninstall SuperSU will not work, causes an eventual crash of SuperSU (after quite some time) unless you do a reboot. SuperSU will still be there, too.
I'm a Pro user and unable to set a PIN either as SuperSU will just circle endlessly after trying to set one.
I've been reading about other users' issues mostly related to root access itself, but my issues seem to be interface only.

Oh, my ..!
It's working now, I just did another reboot (because SuperSU had become stuck again) and on reboot all was working! :good:

I'm also seeing this, in 1.94 and 2.02, but I've not yet tried the 2.04 beta. Sometimes it works. I've tried all sorts of different things to identify a pattern, but I've had no luck.
I've also one instance, just last night, of SuperSU requesting root privileges for itself. I can post a screenshot and some log data if that would help.

It'd be great if we can get a recap of which SuperSU versions, which devices and kernels and firmwares, are affected. Any information you have is welcome. Let's get this issue sorted out.
@Chainfire So I'll start. I own a Galaxy W with unofficial Cyanogenmod 11 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588495) and now I'm using this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593027 (I' ve tried also with stock kernel but the problem persist and is the same). I used SuperSU for years and worked perfectly until v1.94. When I installed v2.0 the problem starts. After that I updated to 2.01 and I tried some beta like 2.04 and 2.05 but the problem still persist.
I hope this can help you, thanks for support.
EDIT: Some kind of Log could help you?

How did you update? Via in-app, Play store, or exclusively ZIP updates? Which recovery are you using? Have you tried making a backup, wiping, and install SuperSU cleanly - does the issue persist?
I've definitely seen this with SuperSU 2.02, and I believe I also saw it with 1.94 (but I can't recall for certain). I've not yet tried 2.04 beta.
I'm using the device, rom, and recovery in my sig. I've see this with several different kernels, including the one in my sig, Marmite 10.6/10.5/10.4/10.3, Matr1x 25 cfs and bfs, Devil Kernel 20131025_VC and Air Kernel Weekly r350.
When I flash a kernel, cwm asks if I want to "fix root". I've reboot both fixed and unfixed, and it doesn't seem to matter.
What else can I try or provide?

Now I'm using CWM recovery based (6.0.5.0)
I tested the v1.94 and update v2.0 on a " old rom". Few days later, thinking was my device problem's I performed a full wipe with pristine and installed v2.0 directly from play store, so I could try a cleanly installation of SuperSU (but the problem persist). Here I tried all new versions (I also tried the v1.94, which worked fine, but mainly to uninstall the newer version's as I will explain below) but without success.
I tried in different ways:
I downgraded to v1.94(replacing supersu with root explorer), uninstalled SuperSU, reistalled v1.94(via in-app) and then updated to 2.0 and then v2.01 when update came out from play store.
I downgraded again to v1.94(replacing supersu with root explorer), uninstalled SuperSU and then installed v2.0 from zip-updates. Also tried flashing directly over v1.94 ,without uninstall, from recovery with zip-updates.
I downgraded again to v1.94(replacing supersu with root explorer), uninstalled SuperSU and then installed v2.02 from zip-updates. Also tried flashing directly over v1.94 ,without uninstall, from recovery with zip-updates.
I tried v2.04 and v2.05 with zip-update from recovery by flashing directly over v2.02(this v2.02 is a result from previous test).
I uninstalled SuperSU by replacing supersu with root explorer, installed via in-app v1.94(that work perfectly) and then installed 2.04.
I hope I have answered in the right way in all your questions.
Regards
I have similar bug. I am on SE xperia GB ROM and all previous versions below 2.00 were working fine. After that I started to notice various problems.. For ex. on 2.00+ versions I was always getting "update su binary" notification. I tried to update it in both ways and both were sucessufull and root was working but i still was getting that notification. On last beta (2.05) root stopped to work and all root apps are loading continuously... when I enter to supersu app I get a notification that there is no su binary (but it exists). I install supersu on clean rom from recovery.. Here is the source code..for reference..

Thank you.
Been playing around, haven't replicated so far. A common theme seems to be CM and CWM, though it works fine in my own testing still... sigh.

SuperSU 2.66 beta on Shamu

Please write your experience with SuperSU 2.60 / 2.61 / 2.62-3...2.66 on Shamu.
2.56 didn't work on my unlocked, unencrypted 6.0.0 (MRA58R)
Systemless 2.62-3 with works as a charm with my 6.0.1.
I dirty flashed 6.0.1 system.img and boot.img, then I flashed SuperSU 2.62-3 (in TWRP). I stayed unencrypted.
Xposed, ES File Explorer, Double tap 2 wake, Greenify, BetterBatteryStats ... work perfectly.
Edit:
2.62-3 works for some with 6.0.1. and with Android Pay
2.52 has been working fine for me since mm has been out, running on MRA58R now. Have not tried 2.6 but 2.49 was also working perfectly. If you need android pay to work then 2.6 or there are other options like custom ROMs that have it successfully working
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Running it here without issue. Also had it running on mra58r.
The only casualty I suppose was/is es file explorer. It could not gain root access for some reason.
I am rooted, unencrypted and have the latest Elite kernel.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Using 2.6.1 and brand new 6.0.1 fresh install and Android pay is working flawlessly!

Did a full wipe and flashed again the lite Rom 6.0.1 of Danvdh. This rom is stock based.
After reboot I restored the 6.0-data from a nandroid backup with TWRP. Root checker says 'no root'.
Now last try with full wipe and restore from Google.
At this moment my N6 is restoring the apps from Google take a long time, but root checker says there is root access.
So this update needs a complete wipe and factory reset.

Important is that the system partition does not contain su-stuff of previous versions.
In TWRP I wiped the M 6.0 system and caches, but not the data.
Flashed the lite 6.0.1 rom of Danvdh;
Flashed Franco's kernel r35;
Flashed SuperSU 2.61;
Reboot - TWRP button 'do not install SU'.
Needed to restore settings (dpi), layers and the black themed apps of the TBO team.
I dirty flashed from stock rooted 6.0.0 to 6.0.1 today and rooted using Systemless 2.62-3. Everything is working great so far.

So i rebooted again in twrp, flashed the xposed uninstaller zip, then wiped dalvik/cache, flashed xposed installer, wiped dalvik/cache again. Now it's working fine.

Did you wipe cache and dalvik the first time?
I have problems with the update :crying:
Before updating, I had the phone in "alarms only" mode; I flashed the new factory image, and now I can't disable it anymore! I tried both using the notification pane, and the volume rocker, but the setting doesn't switch off...
Any ideas?

Weird issue. I'd try a factory reset.
I figured out how to disable it: I added a rule to enable Do Not Disturb for calendar events, then created an event lasting one minute. At the end of the event, the phone was back to "All notifications"; the toggle works fine now.

Does it fix the syncing/notification issues ?

I'm now on 6.0.1 MMB29K, SuperSU 2.65, and ElementalX 6.07 and intend to update to MMB29S, SuperSU 2.66, same ElementalX. Were/are you running Xposed? I'm wondering if I should uninstall it first and then reinstall afterwards. Thanks

No, I don't have Xposed at the moment.
Another minor issue is that WiFi seems to be always on, looking at the battery usage graph, even when it's set to be off (WiFi scanning is disabled), and even when the phone is in airplane mode!
I don't know how to check if it's actually always on, but I noticed this both before and after the latest security update.

Flashable OTA?

When I had my Nexus 5 people would make flashable OTA files to be used in TWRP, is no one doing this any longer? All I can find is how to sideload the OTA.
Thanks

just flash the boot.img and system.img in twrp. if you had root, youll need to reroot. yes, twrp flashes system.img and boot.img files now as well.

Ok, I am a little confused, I am trying to apply the MRA58K from LMY48T OTA found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/ref-nexus-6-stock-ota-urls-t2906493 in the ZIP file, I am not finding system.img, or boot.img
Download the factory images and extract the system and boot.imgs, put them on your SD card(phone storage) enter twrp, select install, then select images in bottom right, select the partition you want to flash to, select the correct.img file

Ok, so, I got my phone updates, however, I had systemless xposed working on it, MM 6.0.1 (MOB30M) however when I went in to try and enable the modules, it gave an error (a long one) so I thought that maybe I didn't have the correct version installed, or wasn't rooted right, so I went back into recovery, re-rooted, and installed 85.3, now it says that xposed isn't installed at all. So for now, I went back to my 5.1.1 restore. Any ideas?

You have to reflash xposed. It is in the system partition so you will have to redo it after making room as google now fills up the system partition almost completely.

I thought that was the whole reason behind the System Less Xposed, so it doesn't install to your system partition.

was the systemless updated to work with the new security measures built into the update? You have to remember that with each update google is making things like xposed harder to get working. It is well known that sooner or later xposed all together will no longer be an option.
So I would check all the changes that the update did to see what it changed. I nor most the people I know have not used xposed in a long time so I really cant say for sure

Systemless root or systemless exposed?

I have systemless xposed working on mob30m. currently have v85.2 installed, all modules working. Only hiccup i ran into was the installer apk. you have to use the one linked in the systemless xposed thread, or it won't recognize the framework is installed.

Thank you, I just reinstalled 6.0.1 MOB30M and it works!
I'm on 6.0 right now with TW recovery, root with SuperSU and Xposed v85, I want to go to 6.0.1 latest version, what would be the best was to do it?
Shall I uninstall xposed, unroot and get stock recovery and then just try to install OTA or is there another way?

It's available on c.16 on the phone.
Edit: link to zip. https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/6812ccee9a8a891032af1e053e3217731ac7ad92.zip
Here is the boot.img file that I pulled from the update today if anyone needs it.
I was able to successfully patch the Boot.img and achieve root in C.19

I'm installing right now. I hope it's got all the bugs worked out
Well I'm rooted and back up and running. There's been a few times with my 9 pro that it's not gone this easy LOL.
Could someone refresh my memory on the steps to install this? I have the boot.img already pulled. Thanks

How'd you update? There's the magisk way and there the unroot and reroot way.
Edit: you have to uninstall the magisk modules before you install the update, then reinstall Magisk after OTA

I didn't have any modules installed. I downloaded the full zip. Installed it I lost root. I used python to pull the boot.img file. Patched the file re-rooted took me about 15mins.

Hey, can you please attach the boot image that you used to root in C.19?
Is anybody having issues with delay in getting SMS/MMS messages. After updating to c19, I have noticed that sometimes I am not getting any messages. A reboot will temporarily fix the issue. I cleared the both Carrier Services and Messages app data which has not completely resolved the issue. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Also, I could not find Messages app listed under battery optimization list (may be because it's considered a system app?). BTW, I am not rooted and have 2215 running C19 version. Thanks.
I have the question battery working better than oxygen 12 ? Also apk file install normaly or I must sideload VIA adb ?
