Charging Dock? - OnePlus 3 Accessories

Anyone got a charging dock? or recommend one please OP3 on its way and like to have it stood up next to the bed like!

I would also like any suggestions for a cradle/dock. There are plenty of USB C cradles listed on Amazon and other sites, but they don't seem to support the Oneplus charging system.
Anyone know of a cradle/dock that would allow me to use the USB C cable that came with the OnePlus 3?

well if it's a usb dock overnight charging should be ok regardless of dash or not? I'm thinking if there isn't one soon I'll make one or something using a dash cable.

This one I am looking:
https://www.amazon.es/Type-C-soport...68248445&sr=8-14&keywords=base+de+carga+usb+c
It is Benson-tested (Benson is the Google Engineer that started all the thread about USB Type-C compliancy). It will NOT fast-charge or Dash-Charge your phone, but it will also not make a fire out of your phone. worth a try, I think I will order it soon.

USB to Power Outlet adapter?

Where can I buy more of the little adapter that you plug the USB cable in to, then plug the adapter into to your wall power outlet?
I'm planning on coupling it with this cable: monoprice!com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=5459&seq=1&format=2
My Incredible charges MUCH faster when plugged in to a power outlet than it does when plugged in to USB.
I just bought two off of Ebay that I will be trying out. I will let you know if they work which ones they are. I do know that the one from Monoprice.com doesn't work well so I would avoid that one.
Ok I got a few of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&_trkparms=algo=LVI&its=I&otn=2#ht_500wt_1182
"PLO" brand "Powerbug" - meant for GPS devices but they work perfect with the incredible. 5v, 1A, 5watt (same as stock HTC charger). I got two at $8 each so not bad. They are nice looking compared to the generic Monoprice usb charger.
EDIT ** Don't think these have as much power as the stock charger. Spare parts states "Charging (USB)" when using these, so it's like being plugged up to a computer. Still a good deal at $8
The usb to wall plugs from monoprice are no good. I ordered several before I knew better. None of them worked properly...or for Any longer than 20 minutes.

Have you actually got it and tried it and it works? I did a search on Best Buy's website and they have them but they're $27! If yours works, I'll snag a few off of ebay before people realize how useful they are and jack the price up.
Powerbug description says mini-USB, Incredible uses Micro USB B...good luck. Let us know how they work...
I use a Boxwave Versa Charger. Plugs into mains or into car DC power outlet.

It sure does, however, if you take a look at the picture, its simply a USB slot that the mini-usb cable plugs into, which means that any USB cable could work as the OP asked about. I'd say this would work well. However, I grabbed http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powerduouniversal and it works great and I can just move my cable from my car to my house and have power everywhere.
don't buy aftermarket USB A/C adapters unless it's just for an overnight charge. You can't use the screen when using an aftermarket adapter. It's quite annoying. every single touch screen phone I have had has this problem.

Yes, but I have a variety of micro usb cables already. Take mini usb cable, throw in trash, use your own micro usb cables.

Yes I bought two and both of them work fine. Not sure if they charge as fast or not as the STOCK charger, but they are rated the exact same. The only thing I don't like about them is they have a blue light around the USB port. I found those at $8 each which is a lot better than paying $30 each somewhere else. I found these in another thread and the person was finding them even cheaper at some discount store I had never heard of. I'll leave one at work, one out in the garage or somewhere. The HTC charger will stay in the bedroom.

That's not true. While the monoprice wall charger DID have a screen issue, the screen works perfectly fine with these chargers. And I used all kinds of chargers with my previous HTC Touch and never had a screen issue.

I have several aftermarket USB AC heads that work just fine with the Incredible. All of them purchased some time ago.
I've been using my old iphone power blocks without any problems, though its only been a couple days if charging.
Depending on the price, you may be able to snag some fairly cheap with all of the companies that make cheap iphone/ipod accessories. Unfortunately I have enough power blocks so I don't have a need to buy/test any others.
I would be curious about other peoples experiences though.

I have some Ipod AC adapters as well. I was thinking they'd be safe to use since lower amp for the Incredible... but what of the reverse? Can you use the Incredible AC wall block safely on other devices? It's 1A instead of the .5A for Iphone/Ipod.
I'm trying to travel with less charges!

[Q] problem with mhl-hdmi adaptor

Good afternoon, everybody. I can not find the problem, on the Russian Forums Help is not found. (I am from Moscow). such a problem-acquired mhl-hdmi adapter. connecting entirely in accordance with the instructions is nothing happens. no pop-up window on the connected hdmi no display on the screen. the problem is clearly not in the adapter. I believe that I have something extra frozen / deleted. please if someone knows tell me what process / system file is responsible for displaying the image on the hdmi.thank you all in advance. and please do not delete the question if he is in the wrong section. move to the desired section please.
Make sure you are using 11pin (not 5 pin) adapter. Can you check adapter with another Note 2 to make sure that adapter is ok?

you can also test the adapter with a Galaxy S3, and probably S4. I don't believe the S4 changed anything in the HML or USB port, so it's very likely the same as GN2 and S3.
Also, if you are using a HML adapter, make sure it has enough power. Not all adapters pulled enough power from the phone, so you will need an external power source. Most just use the USB cable and charger that come with the phone.

unfortunately I have not the opportunity to try something different to what note2 or s3. if I had the chance I would not have asked for help. I just ask somebody to check on his device and see what process start when adapter connect to the phone and tv. sorry for any mistakes
the idea was to confirm that your GN2 wasn't working correct, and it wasn't the adapter. If the adpater worked, then it's the phone. If not, the it may be the adapter.
Depending on your adapter, it's possible there may not be enough power, thus, it's possible the HML isn't registering. I'm assuming you're not using some one directional HDMI cable.
I use an adapter as well. I needed a 5pin to 11pin adapter. I have to use the phone charger to power the adapter. The above video shows the setup and it working.
Maybe you can let someone at the store where you got the phone to test another phone with the adapter or an adapter with your phone. Hopefully they have TV with HDMI to test with. Maybe try an electronics store.

Thank you very much. Today decided to move - to unfreeze all applications and restore all avtostarts. We'll see tomorrow at work. The results unsubscribe. By the way today went to the office store Samsung - I have the original cable. It turns out that the case in my phone. Charging and tried to 1A and 1.5A - no way. I really hope that everything will turn out tomorrow. Thanks for the video
By the way your adapter is not like mine. Apparently, in different regions of different designs.

It's don't work It is a pity. Don't know what's next search. What's the problem
the adapter I have is a generic one I got from Monoprice; they're a company that sells cheaper electronic, which is usually made in China. Thus, it is not the official sumsung one.
it looks like you're still in the situation where you don't know if it is your phone or the MHL adapter where the problem lies. I would consider going to an electronics store that sells TVs, phones, video games, and so forth; whatever is the similar to Best Buy in the USA. I don't know the stores that would be in Moscow. Bring your phone and adapter and see if they will let you hook up to one of their TVs. Also, see if they will let you test out another adapter, maybe one that they sell. And maybe they can let you test Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 or Note 2 with your adapter.
I think it may be the easiest way to figure it out based on your don't know anyone locally with any of the Samsung phones list above. There's just too many variables right now to effectively to say one way or the other.
thank you very much for the advice. yesterday went to the official store samsung. asked to check but no one helped me. so I will look for original cable and test all over again. today tried my cable on another galaxy note 2. no reaction. even tried to connect another cable hdmi, the more expensive and high quality. It seems the problem is still in the adapter.

not aware of the USB debugging should be enabled or not? and then perhaps because of this problem?
that should not effect the HDMI/HML. Mine is always enableed, but only triggers when connected to a PC. Most likely, the HML uses more pins than the USB for a PC, which is why it doesn't trigger.

How important can a USB cable be ?

Hi everyone @xda,
Here's a new thread I wanted to open to share a recent experience.
I currently have a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7. Both are recent ones and I have myself newly fallen into Android and tablets.
So far, I only had small cell phones and I could charge them with almost every charger and USB cable in the world.
No so easy with the Nexus 7.
First, it seems it's charger delivers a thick 2.6A so any charger weaker than that, and the full charge would last for ever...
But another weird thing is that I noticed that, if I use the stock charger with another USB cable, the charge is SSSLLLLOOOOWWWW....
Even better. I have the dedicated Nexus 7 dock.
If I use the USB cable that came with my previous Sony Ericsson mobile, the Nexus 7 won't even consider it is charging.
Same USB port, same dock, but different cable (from Belkin or the stock cable) : no problem, it charges !
So, I have come to the conclusion that the USB cable can make a big difference.
Can I be wrong ?
Regards.
NexusPenguin
Yes.. I broke the USB cable of my Nexus 7 after 2 weeks... The only one who charges the Nexus as fast as the stock is the samsung cable of my SGS2. With another cable (lower than 2A), it takes more than a night to charge my nexus...
Hi Albadros,
Thanks to confirm that...
For a moment I thought I was a little stupid thinking the USB cable could be at fault !
So the cable DOES make a difference... I'll take care of the cable I'll buy from now on
Regards.

It's hard to find an USB cable where the informations are written but you can buy a charger micro-USB and it's written on it. You must have the same as the Nexus charger (2,0 A). (I think a charger for BB Playbook has the good characteristics)
In my experience it has something to do with the cable length and how the charger is constructed...
but there is already a thread about this topic:

In disagreement here. Got my Nexus 7 about a week ago, and right off the bat the USB cable that came with it (asus) was awful. Just like the crap that came with my S3. Not sure how or why, but the USB cable that came with my Pantech Crossover a few years ago is still the best for me. It charges my N7 fast as hell, and it's pretty durable too! Only cable I have that doesn't seem cheaply made, again as confused as everyone, I repeat a PANTECH cable..

USB C to USB A cable

Don't forget about these things, unless you happen to have a USB C connector on your computer already. The 5X does not come with this cable; it only comes with a USB C to USB C cable. The 6P does, however.

Not sure why, but it states in the description of those adapters that they are for Data Sync only, doesn't say anything about them working for charging. I hope that isn't the case, but just a heads up.

how about a type C male to type C female? does that exist??
For what it's worth, OnePlus finally have their cables up for sale after forever promising them lol. Android Police gave it stellar reviews stating it was of the better cables available when they did their review on them. They only range from $5 to $7 but you do have to pay shipping, still probably much better quality than the generic ones selling on Amazon.
I did order 3 of them, hopefully they are good. Wish they had some that were 6 ft. though.

Question for the community.
I rely on OTG a lot. I have a couple of Micro USB Male to USB A Female adaptors. Is there any reason that I couldn't plug a Type C Male to USB 2.0 Micro B Female adapter (like jadeddjay's item above) into the 5X, plug an existing Micro USB Male to USB A Female OTG cable into that, and then plug my standard cable into that? So:
5X <-- Type C Male to USB 2.0 Micro B Female adapter <-- Micro USB Male to USB A Female OTG <-- standard cable .
I guess it would it be safer to just get a new OTG cable with a Type C Male and USB A Female, like this one. But I'd rather get an adapter that can serve multiple functions as opposed to a new OTG cable that I will only use with one device.
Probably a dumb question, but...
I'm a little out of the tech game, and my knowledge isn't where it should be. That will probably make this a dumb question...
I am going to get a 5x, but have loads and loads of micro-usb peripherals; does anyone know if a micro-usb to type-c convertor exists? I've looked, but it's a pain to search for, as my search results always flip what i want around to type-c to micro-usb / similar.
Long story short; i'd rather not buy loads of new type-c cables, and instead would like a converter that I can plug into my existing kit, for me to then use with the type-c port on the 5x.
Does such a thing exist?
Cheers!
I'm been looking at cables since the phone was announced and I realize I've been spoiled by the cheap cables on monoprice. Hopefully they come down in price by the end of the year.
Is there a reason most A to c type are only one meter? .Best I've been able to find is 2 meter.
Would a USB extension cable work with a USB a to c?
I have a lot of charging equipment that is type a, trying to keep using it.

Well not everyone has an outlet within 3 feet of where they are sitting. For example, when I'm sitting in my living room, my closest outlet is behind my recliner, and I like to be able to use my phone while it charges, so a 6 ft cable is very handy.

It also available in OPPO offline store,
Not sure about yours, but you always can try eBay. Keywords should be "OPPO VOOC Mobilepack or Powerbank"

There is no other powerbank that support dash charge with USB C than the Oneplus Powerbank.
Oppo sell VOOC powerbank that is compatible with dash charge (it's the same thing for who didn't know yet) but micro usb cable is built in to you have to use a micro usb to usb C converter, so that my may explain why orignal poster asked a built in USB C. Same as Oppo VOOC powerbank but with usb C built in : it don't exist.
Only the oneplus dash powerbank with the dash cable can work, if it appear someday.

I know, the phone's battery is great but everyone needs a little bit of juice while in a hurry or when you are just going out. I was looking all over but I still cannot find a good power bank with built in usb type c cable. If anyone owns or knows where to buy one please reply below. :good:
Thank you

Just use it with an adapter!
Available at Alibaba or Amazon.
I even found one Chinese manufacturer - apparently the only one - offering Mini-USB to USB-C adapters.
(Most common are Micro- to USB-C adapters.)
Actually throwing away chargers, which are still working, just because of an other plug standard is something I don't like.
Looking for the same thing. Asking a guy in Mediamarkt yesterday he said, still not on the market
From what I have read on this forum so far, there is no power bank that will charge at Dash Charge speed. You only get Dash Charge with OP's wall socket Dash Charger and supplied cable (well, not entirely sure it has to be their cable to work.)
It's explained in this thread: "For those wondering about using a power bank to charge their OP3" (by EP2008) [sorry, can't post links yet]
I think that I will go with the adapter, anything with 2 A and QC capacity will still charge the OP3 very fast.

OP is looking for something like this, but with a direct Type C connector on its end,
mine still utilize the USB C Adapter,
and yes, it's charging with DASH speed (around 3,5A)
