Sprint phone seems to be half flashed to Boost Mobile need help full flashing - Sprint LG G4

I bought a LG G4 from my local Boost Mobile shop that was flashed from Sprint. He sold it to me at a very low price of $200 when it was $450 at the time because not even he could figure out why talk/text would work but not data. Wifi works perfect but when I leave my wifi spot or turn wifi off data is non-existent. I bought the phone from him knowing that data didn't work, and at the time I didn't need data, but now I do. It is a cdma phone because I see no slot, after taking the battery out, where a sim card would be inserted. Is there any possible way to get this phone flashed a second time to a full flash from a potential half flash? If so can you please give me a step by step guide, link a definite guide that WILL work, and or, a video that WILL work? Thank you in advance, and hopefully I can get this issue resolved because this phone, although not the latest, is a magnificent mobile device and I would sure hate to have to discard it because I can't get data on the go.

1st of all there is a sim card slot. You were looking in the right spot, by the battery but it's under to SD card slot. Even though it's a CDMA phone data won't work without the sim, and you will only get talk & text. I am assuming there is no sim installed as you would have seen it installed. I would suggest going to a sprint store and getting one (if you have sprint) or whoever you carrier is. A phone is pretty straight forward and ours is no different. There is no such thing as "half flashing" a phone. If you have service but no data then there are only three possibilities: Incorrect APN, profile needs to be updated or no sim. Hope this helps.

Supposedly there is data on it but it is 3g and not 4g and no matter what i do it still wont work. Are you saying if I get a boost mobile sim card and install it in the lg g 4 I will be able to get 4g lte data service through boost mobile?

I have updated everything in system update as many times as i could.

The Sprint/Boostmobile/Virginmobile sim are on eBay for the G4 and they are pretty cheap.

HTC Vivid and 4GLTE in New York City

Well they hit the switch on December 1st of this year, been getting a strong LTE signal since then. Been keeping an eye on the data going in and out of this phone. I have noticed that during phone calls the network switches back to “4G“ and when calls end the “LTE“ reappears. Does anyone here maintain an LTE signal during phone calls by any chance?. Or is this just preliminary tower behavior for testing?

That's how LTE works on AT&T. When on a phone call it switches back to HSPA+. I think it will always be like this but I'm not 100% positive. Never been an issue for me. It switches back and forth very quickly and I hardly ever use data while I'm on the phone.
Well it seems LTE coverage is expanding in the NYC area as of today. I'm now getting LTE signal in the boroughs. Bronx and Queens to be exact.

N7 3G No Longer Unlocked?

Currently the Google Play Store is listing the Nexus 7 3G with a AT&T Logo...

Does this mean the N7 w/ 3G will be locked to AT&T, and not available as an Unlocked Device? I certainly hope not!
Okay, Scratched that... Contacted Google Device Support (Actually Got an Intelligent Person this time) and they informed that it will be unlocked, and AT&T is only listed to let buyers know AT&T Service can be used on the Device. (and he hinted at a possible AT&T Data Only plan for the N7)

Scared me too...
but with my experience with Google Support is they are often wrong...
YOu can't even select it now. For me it takes me to a page where it says, "The page doesn't exist on this server" or something.
Remove the _att from the end of the link.
strangely enough the canadian version of those pages don't have that issue. In canada (and likely UK and so on too) it's still the old "unlocked" thing in the selection and it works like it used to with the american before the change.
It is available for sale yet? Neither _att or without it works with a purchase link .
The links are fixed now, but they're out of stock I think.

They haven't started selling yet, so it's not really OOS. Also, I've seen them change the links twice now. It's still slightly broken (ie: if you click on AT&T then 3G again, it gives you an error message about not available in your country).
Any second now.....and it should go on sale......hopefully....

In stock now in the usa!!!!
It looks like they already sold out, I managed to get in an order of the Nexus 7 w/ the ATT Sim Card, but the device said 'unlocked'. The strange thing is, if you're on the page where it gives the description of the Nexus 7 3G + ATT Sim Page, if you scroll down, you'll see a 3rd Card that lists "Nexus 7 + WIFI + HSPA" w/o the ATT Logo and if you click that one I see that it's "Not available in your country"...

Xperia T/TL roaming wont work

When I try to roam (call people and small) it gives me zero bars and won't detect a carrier. When I go to settings > More > Mobile Networks > Service Providers and then I select a carrier it would just pop up a message saying ( found network s unavailable ) then it would say it failed and make sure your sim is available

Are you sure roaming was covered by your phone contract? I had the same problem when going abroad with my previous phone because it wasn't included in the standard phone contract. I had to buy a addon.

I dont have roaming n my contract but if I take my sim out of the phone to a other one, it would work and autodetect a carrier, which then I can call ( but still getting charged)

I have the same problem. My SIM is free for roaming, the phone is completely free, no branding, no simlock. The same SIM in another (non Smart) phone does work at all. If I do network search and choose a foreign carrier a notice pops up "Sorry, can't connect to this carrier, try again".
I'm using CM 10.1 nightly 21.08. but the problem exists for months now, on FXP it's the same.

Nexus 6 Sprint Bloatware

If you go into the Play Store - Apps - Categories, you will see a Sprint section. Is there a way to get rid of this. I have my phone activated on T-Mobile and it's still there. Is it baked into the OS somehow?
did you initially set up the phone while it was on the sprint network? have you wiped data from the play store app or tried wiping the phone entirely? i'm guessing it's part of the initial setup of the device depending on the network it's on, not something that is hardwired based on serial number or anything.
I believe it depends on what sim you had in the device upon set up. Im about to put my tmobile sim in (have a sprint variant as well) and when i wipe, ill let you know.

Yes I did initally set it up on sprint while i waited for a tmobile nano sim. I havent tried wiping the phone, ill try to clear the data from the play store app
Just to be clear, no bloatware is pre-installed on the Sprint variant. OP is talking about the Sprint apps available in the play store.

Right, I can't attach a screenshot right now but it's under Play Store - Apps - Home (you will see Games and the SPRINT). I don't really care as long as it can be removed when I switch networks. But I feared it was baked in somehow.

Here's a pic, It's just annoying. I'd rather they included an app that I could delete than install this in my play store without a way to delete it. Ugh. My Play Store Version is 5.0.38 if that helps.

That's pretty odd. I bought one from sprint. Used it on Sprint for a bit and then switched it to AT&T and my play store now correctly shows AT&T top app picks instead of sprint.
It shows whatever carrier you are on. Nothing new, I'm sure my Evo did this actually.
It does this one all phones. I had a unlocked Korean LG G3 cat 6 and the play store still had the Att tab. It has to do with your Sim card. My Nexus that I bought from moto has the same thing.
Interesting; I don't have such a category in my Play store on my device, and I activated it on Verizon.

VOLTE/WiFi Calling - Three UK

Unsure what's going on here, but Three have historically never enabled WiFi Calling for phones they haven't personally sold, even if they do actually sell it (except iPhones) however I've noticed my unlocked (Vodafone contract) P20 Pro allowing it. Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah seems strange that it's activated though, although one thing I have noticed and don't know how they managed it, but the phone 'seems' Three branded with the app Three Likes and also giving a 3 Boot Screen on power up. I wonder if it's because it was the first carrier SIM i had in to boot with.
Oh yeah, it definitely does that.
Seems to brand itself with Three, which is pretty clever (again, mate 10 pro did that)
If you put in a different (non-3) simcard to avoid the branding, would Wifi-Calling still work if you then put in the 3 sim?

There may be a potential problem down the line though, as the networks may release an update blocking WiFi calling from other networks... Not sure I want to take the risk, so may just put up with the splash screen for peace of mind.
So it seems I've managed to avoid the three splashscreen...
I started the phone without a simcard and ran through the initial start up and transferred my apps/data from my old android device to my new phone and then inserted my 3 simcard whilst the phone was on. I then restarted the phone with the 3 simcard remaining in and low and behold it started up with the regular Huawei screen and Wifi calling works!
Only issue though is that I'm on Firmware: CLT-L09 8.1.0.103(C782) and not had the latest update come through
