Hardware Decoder Issues - Remix Mini General

Is anyone else having issues trying to watch live streams through APK apps. If I try and watch streams with the hardware decoder enabled, the Remix mini freezes so bad I have to disconnect it from the mains to get it running again.
I can only use the software decoder settings in the app which makes the picture quality not so good.
Anybody know of a fix for this?

Audio / Video Sync Issue in avi/mkv Files and Youtube

Hello,
I have already seen on the forum that many people complained about the audio and
video sync problem. I have tried Docs and Darkys ROMs but no chance. There is
always a 0.5 sec difference between sound and video. Tried different players.
Could someone please confirm that this is a widespread issue with Froyo 2.2 or
Is it just a faulty device problem ? I would love to find an answer to this question.
Or even is there anyone playing avi files or youtube videos without any sync issue ?
Thanks.
(Also seen this problem in HTC forums thats why i suspect that the issue is related
to the OS.)
I would guess that its more like faulty or incompatible video file formats .
That is the general reason why many phones have difficulty with some videos .
The only way to test is to take a file from a clean source and of the required format that your phone is supposed to play .
Or even is there anyone playing avi files or youtube videos without any sync issue
Answer = yes the vast majority are .
Just checked Stream from Youtube perfect sound .
Streaming is a function of your internet connection .
Playback saved HD Nasa video clip again perfect .

Well, recorded few videos with my phone to check sound sync. Turns out the files
play completely in sync on my computer but they are out of sync by 0.5 sec when
I play them on my phone. Have seen many ppl in various forums with this issue but
was not able to find a solution bah
works well previously on 2.1 but not on 2.2....
HD MKV plays fine over BlueTooth or via speaker, same with recorded videos or anything video.
Have you tried just rebooting the device and having nothing running in the background?
I tried everything from flashing 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1 to hard reseting. Nothing works.
Even youtube videos are not in sync. There is a delay of 400ms between sound
and video.
As its not a widespread issue it suggest something wrong with your phone .
Hardware you would need to go back to the seller/service centre .
You could try going back to Eclair problem still then its hardware wiping all data a formatting phone and having no apps on to test .

LG O2X HDMI Video playback on Cyanogenmod7

Hi xda-devs,
I recently bought LG O2X and modded it with CM7 . Here's the issue I'm seeing: Trying to do a HD video playback using HDMI mirroring, the frames get skipped in the HDMI screen. However, the HDMI mirroring works just perfect in all other cases.
Lemme explain this issue in detail...
On LG's stock ROM:
1. Connect HD cable to a HDMI TV and play a HD video.
2. phones' screen (primary display) will be disabled and the video is played only on the HDMI screen. (secondary display)
On CM7 ROM:
1. Connect HD cable to a HDMI TV and play a HD video.
2. It tries to display the video on both primary and secondary screens!
3. Hence, some of the frames will be skipped on the secondary screen (but not on primary), thereby causing a bad experience with video playback.
Does anyone know of a fix to this?
(I 'think' the solution here is to just disable the primary screen while performing a video playback and enable it back when the video playback is finished?)
Thanks in advance!

Android: v2.3.4
Kernel: v2.6.32.41-cyanogenmod

hdmi out is not working on CM7 jet only 1080p i think
hi smokeweedevery,
For me the hdmi out is working normally. (I have access to a 60' screen).
I used the normal hdmi cable to connect and the hdmi mirroring just worked out-of-the-box.
The issues comes when trying to play a video. (as I have described at the beginning)
Anyone else facing this issue? Is somebody looking into this?

Yes I also have this issue, it is a known CM7 issue. When I play a video on my 1080p projector it just plays and then it seems like the projector looses input and blacks out, but comes back sometimes.
I also tried on two 1080p TV's and its the same there...
Hello;
I'm have the same problem with playing back HD videos on my tv. I'm using de latest CM, 7.1

MX Player Problem

My HW acceleration has broken, I have my videos encoded in h.264 and i can't h/w decode them. vplayer is fine on the other hand.
bumpity bump bump anyone else having this issue?
This is a codec issue on their end. Change the acceleration to S/W fast or similar for video playback. Of course, it's software, but it still works.
Is it a bug on their end? I tried playing some videos in the 'gallery' player and it still stutters, unless the OP's videos are completely broken?
I could have sworn it was working before i had to factory reset it..

[Q] S3 mini video crashes

Dear all,
Lately I experience a lot of crashes/problems playing video.
I'm using a s3 mini, with a quite up-to-date CM11 custom ROM. It's rooted, and in general it works rather smooth. The only thing, to maintain an acceptable battery life, I use greenify and Deep Sleep Battery Pro + some tasker stuff to finetune what I believe is necessary to run (or not) while sleeping of when display is off. (like: airplane mode at night, no wifi when I'm not at home).
My problems occur using MX Player as a video player.
(1) SHOULD H/W+ decoder work with CM11 on i8910?
Using H/W+ decoder for sure crashes MX Player from the moment it starts to play.
Using H/W decoder works when I don't touch any settings, but for sure it doesn't work all the time.
Playing video's on S/W decoder doesn't look reliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it causes major problems with video and sound not synchronized.
As I don't know for sure how it works:
(2) Is decoding done by firmware or by software I need to install myself? Are 'all' players using the same decoders?
(3) When I stream video's, it seems to work much better. Youtube or Plex, most of the time I can use it without problems. But since about a month, Plex is giving me more and more problems. Mostly video/audio not in sync / video's which just won't be played by plex. But I can't figure out if it's a Plex-related problem, a decoder-related problem or a problem with the original video-files.
Maybe logcat and MX Player-log in attachment can help.
Any advise with troubleshooting or finding a solution is welcome.
(4) Lately I read somewhere that video-crash could be an issue with CM11, which could be solved with going back to CM10.2 What do you think about that? And do you think CM10.2 can give the same overall mini-experience as CM11?
Thanks for reading and helping out.
About H/W+ decoder, it never worked for me either ok anything based on CM 11.

[Q] little bit garbled and lower pitched sound

Hi all,
Yesterday I bought my chromecast and I've set it up without problems, but I noticed the sound played through the chromecast is just a little bit garbled and worst of all, it's pitched like a semi-half tone down. For movies and youtube this'll won't be a problem, but I play the guitar and when music is played, it's horribly out of tune.
I couldn't find anything on the internet as a solution. Does anyone encounter the same problem?
Setup:
Nexus 5 with cm11, android 4.4.4
Stock chromecast
1080p HDTV

Sounds like a dolby incompatibility....
Does the source have a dolby track and does this happen with a stereo content item?

If it is happening on everything then it is unlikely what I suspected it was...Especially if it happens on You Tube as well...
It could be a bad HDMI network connection between the CCast and the TV....
So try this....
1 - Try another input on the TV
2 - Try the CCast on a different TV and see if it still happens
If #1 solves it then it's that one TV Input, You can check the audio setting for that input but the CCast should communicate all of that and send the proper signal. (try re-plugging into the original input and see if the problem goes away)
If #2 has the same problem then it's a lemon CCast and you might need a replacement.

In a clear moment #1 has already come to mind, so tried another hdmi input, same results.. I don't have another hdmi tv before wednesday.. Will try it then and will post my results..
I just tried my chromecast on another tv and it worked normally, so it was my hdtv.
I checked the internet and there was an update. Updated and my chromecast works perfectly now!
Thanks for the input!
