I have personally tested Mi5 with Shinecon and Bobo Z4 VR headset. This is the first time I tried a VR headset and I was disappointed tbh. I wasn't expecting much but the hype created around VR is too much. I watched Batman vs Superman in 3D on both headsets and the pixels were there. 1080p resolution is not great for VR experience I guess. I also tried Google cardboard and other apps. I probably won't be using it for VR again, that I'm sure about.

Headache = Lack of 60 FPS and LAG?

As opposed to getting no headaches with the Gear VR Apps, what I noticed from using a bunch of apps on the play store is that most of them gives me a major headache.. I also find their most of the bit rate for the Cardboard demo to be absolute crap. Including the Hobbit and Black Mass trailer. The headaches are also instant. Doesn't take a minute of viewing or more. Really makes me appreciate what sammys put together.
I'm not that knowledgeable in VR but is this due to the lack of consistent 60 fps and the motion lag on the play store apps? Or is this all because we're trying to use the carboard apps on our Gear VR. I have a friend who's interested in the Gear VR but has bought the Cardboard to test it out and I'm afraid he's not going to convert due to the bad experience. Thanks!

the gear vr is a heck of a lot smoother experience than the google cardboard apps, you're not wrong about that. hasn't given me headaches trying to use cardboard apps, but then again, i only tried them for a few seconds and was underwhelmed by them. stick with the vr apps.
I was thinking maybe it was the Gear VR that had something to do with it. Hopefully more quality apps will show up soon.

[Q] 360/3D Skyrim Game Play Video For GearVR

Hey guys,
Ok here is the thing, for over 3 years now I have held out on buying an Oculus rift, hoping the next few months the official customer version would be out, but that until now is yet to happen.
So I purchased the Gear VR to finally get to experience VR (since I know it wont affect me in buying the Oculus CV1) and boy am I blown away, but one thing I am dying to experience is how the world of Skyrim with its beautiful nature and giant mountains would look in VR.
Is there any way for me to shoot/screen capture a 360 and/or 3D video of game play in skyrim and view it through the gear VR to have a bit of what that experience would be like?
Thanks all :good:
There is an android app for Google cardboard being worked on to let you stream pc games in vr format to the phone, it's not natively compatible with the gear vr yet, and there is latency issues or course. It shows promise though. Your question made me wonder a follow up questtion: can someone make a pc program that let's you take a 360 photosphere video or at least photo from a game like skyrim? Like fraps, but a photosphere. That would be fantastic.

That is exactly what I was asking for
I know about the latency and stuff, and I know about the app you mentioned... I just wanted to be able to experience it much like you would watching a gameplay on youtube... except its a 360 video

Galaxy S7 Edge VR Gear is Terrible, no details no resolution bad bad

Hi,
ordered sgs7edge so i received my VR gear...
I was happy,
but VR Gear is bad...
in 1950 the Quality of picture was same or better... TERRIBLE
Terribile, un watchable.... discovery movie, ha ha ha, it was like bad bad old cinema, it is impossible to read...or see the face...
pictures are so bad, you can't see nature or colors, you see mega pixels and no resolution, NO DETAILS... so if you watch nature, you are not sure what are you watching..you can't see face of narrator, without details.. 240p is better,,
on phone display, pictures are good, but after you put vr on, is bad bad bad...
i think that screen of s7 is not good,,,too much big pixels... 8K or 4K display are better
even menu in VR is difficult to read...
and i was impressed that even Facebook Mark was on presentation...Did he try this '' new technology?''
if this is technology for 2016... please go home...oculus and samsung...
menu of vr gear is un watchable too.... and everything in their shop is for pay...pay for what?
it is o.k. for tree years children, for some stupid game but for me is not good, i want at least 720p quality when i watch something on VR.... but 120p quality is not for 2016

Yes. It's true. Very disappointed as well.
When watching a 1080p Blu-ray 3D rip it looks amazing. You must be streaming with low bandwidth.
Please learn how to write out a well thought complain instead of the giberish I attempted read.
Seems like someone didn't adjust the VR to fit there sight....
While I don't have the VR yet for S7E, but I used to have S6E, and paired it with 2nd gen Gear VR and i can say it's awesome, even though maybe it's not full 4K or whatever.
I've got my S7 Edge with the VR headset as well and I do admit while fun, the resolution isn't all that fantastic. I wasn't expecting much from £80 worth of VR headset and while it is entertaining at first, it'll most likely end up in the box gathering dust.
Setting settings settings. look in the settings. lol the resolution is superb if you set it up right

Tried to launch the netflix VR app, maybe I had to high expectations but the resolution was pretty bad.
and YES i adjusted everything the right way.
I'm getting the impression here that the quality of your videos may be hampered by your connection speed. The first 10-15 seconds of the free videos via Vimeo come through looking awful initially, but once the buffer is set and the phone knows what speed it can utilise, the video cracks right into the best quality I've seen.
so my expectations to use this to watch movies on a plane is shot because the quality looks like crap?
yeah it's not that great but what did you guys expect.. you are looking at a phone screen from about 5 cms away - and it's going to be magnified. of course you are going to see pixels and it's not going to be crystal clear and sharp etc.
but the gear vr was never intended to be a awesomely high quality experience.. not for £80 pounds. For that you can pay £600 for the oculus rift or the HTC vive. The gear VR is good for introducing people to VR and just general fun for the sake of fun.
I can attest that the Gear VR does really expose the pixels on your screen. Yes, it's a 2560x1440 screen and the screen itself is possibly the best screen ever put onto a phone, but you can SEE the pixels themselves when wearing the gear VR. The way the lenses magnify it to achieve the FOV, even watching a 4K-made VR porno (yes, a VR porn) you could see pixels noticably. I'd imagine the actual oculus doesnt have this issue as it does not rely on lenses magnifying a screen, but I won't know for sure until I try one. Overall, it takes a while to get used to the pixels but you can get used to it, especially with gaming content which shows it far less than filmed stuff does
actually having compared it with the cardboard, movies actually look better in the cardboard app using the cardboard gear...
It's a $100 headset. If you want true VR...plunk down $500-1000 for a Vive or Oculus Rift. Get over it.
You only need good and quality content.
Download and see any 360º / 180º xxx video from virtualrealporn (use a torrent searcher to get full videos), it's and amazing experience ,you will be change your opinion.

It's stupid to talk about resolution and not see the true beauty of VR.
I was quite amazed on how interesting the VR content can be and how it transposes you into another world.

Worth buying

Hello just wanted to know everyones experience with gear vr is it worth getting i used one and it seemed to blurry etc but in youtube videos its not like that anyway would like to hear from others how they are finding it
I use mine with a Note 5, and it is definitely not blurry. There is a slight "screen door effect" due to seeing all the pixels so close up, but that can fade into the background if you are not fanatical on looking for it. I play games, surf the web, watch video shorts, Netflix and Hulu on mine, and love the device. For $99 it was a great investment, until the Oculus 2 or Vive 2 come out in year or more. Get a bluetooth controller and play Gunjack, if you love to shoot things! I also have watched some of the VR events like the debates, a boxing match, or the Kentucky Derby, and it really makes you feel you are (almost) there.
****ing thrilled with mine, so many excellent freee apps and experiences. IMO gearVR should hold me over for a few years until VR market is more mature, then I'll upgrade to something better. VERY HAPPY AND AMAZED @ GEARVR!!!!
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app
I got mine about a month ago and love it. It was mainly for watching 3D films at work, or Netflix. But I am now getting games and apps and haven't regretted any of it. End Space it awesome, and the kids are hooked on minecraft vr. Yes the pixels are noticeable if you actually look for them, but to be honest you only notice them while you wait for loading then forget about them when you get going.
I do recommend getting Milk VR app too, this plays your VR videos. Just use something like hola of you are outside US to get it.

i've got this one from x-mas 2016 but i never play a game VR that use the joystick, only a few games, it's one of the best options to purchase and works very well with the Kinzie and the Addison, but I can't test the joystick, I wanna buy a ps3 controller for play games in both devices, but I can't found any game VR that use the joystick to run/walk/move/play(?) without sacrifice the movement with the gyroscope

Ohff!..
Google Daydream app requires need to edit build prop.
VR only requires device with gyroscope sensor.
Buy this VR and you can try yourself.
Our device Screen resolution is 1920*1080 so it'll be just fine for VR.
Also, i have seen in sites and YouTube that we can get a good experience in VR from devices with 1920*1080.(And above will be fantastic)
Cheers!
