ZUK Z2 Pro - ADB not working - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I just got my ZUK Z2 Pro 6/128GB.
first I had the Problem that the OTA to 2.0.048 was not working. I got the notification but when i tried to download it, it was saying "no Internet Connection". Internet is working with browser or any other app.
After that I downloaded the 2.0.048 directly and installed it via SD Update which worked out fine.
But I still get the notification that there is an OTA update.
My Major Problem is, I tried to switch the Google-Play-Store to German according this How-To
can not post URL... it is the italian How to
Everything worked out fine until I get to this part to “Grant permission” with ADB (run.bat)
I am not able to see my phone in ADB whatever I do.
Had the Standard Drivers installed, used the "Adb Driver installer" and also deinstalled the Driver manually and used this How-To
can not post Url.... it is the way with PdaNet Installation which changed the drivers
Still no phone in ADB.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?
I tried this on 3 different Pc's (2 x WIN 10 + Win 7) in several different USB ports

I've got the same problem.
Any ideas?

I even tried it yesterday on a Win XP machine... no success.
USB Debugging is on of course.

Check post 13 in the thread... it worked for me...

I tried this method but I still get adb server is out of date. killing... adb server didn't ack * failed to start daemon * error. If I wait long enough I get "list of devices attached" but it's blank. This seems hopeless

I've executed "ADB DEVICES" for my OP3 and it was listed, but the Z2 pro cannot be seen. Is there a driver that I'm not seeing?

Yes, debugging USB 2.0 are activated. I've set up adb using the android sdk at least twice. When I type "ADB DEVICES" my Oneplus 3 is listed. I do not get the same result for the Zuk z2 pro? I don't know why?

So I've solved my problem. I'll try to explain it the best way I can. Apparently I had 2 sets of ADB in 2 different locations on my computer. I plugged in my other phone and typed "ADB DEVICES" in folder got the same "ADB didn't ACK" result. I tried again in a different folder but it worked. By this time I already updated my Zuk Z2 pro to 2.0.048 ST. Hope this can help. thanks

The problems with adb can have something to do with your time and timezone (check if these are correct)
That is also an issue with contacting the google servers.
To download an OTA you need to have a vpn to a chinese server. It is geo-locked. -> after vpn connection is made, stop update service + clear cache. Then check again, it should work according to some.

Hello everyone, I thought I was having the same problem, so I tried to solve with the methods posted here, but after some research, I found out that the "ADB interface" is not showing in Windows device manager
I tried to install it manually, but can't find a way to get it working, and while it seems my phone just bricked after a failed flash, the USB debugging was set on, so can't figure out what could be happening...
Any idea about how to get it working back?
Thank you in advance.

Just to say that I have tried multiple combinations while plugging the device to the PC, and didn't worked...
I mean, the PC seems to react, but always with the same end, only shows the Qualcomm port 9008, nothing about the adb...
Getting out of ideas, anyone more has some?

Anyone managed to find a solution for this issue?
Thanks!

Update to last adb drivers. It worked for me.

ADB Device Not Found

ADB was working perfectly fine until this morning. Now it says Device Not Found. Any suggestions on how I can get it working again? Thanks in advance.
Bump. Anyone know?
Does fastboot work then?
Are you on windows? window 7?
Try every USB port on your computer, my win7 machine will only recognise my device through one usb port.

Windows 7. Fastboot works just fine. Never had this problem before. My Nexus shows up as connected and working in Windows Device Manager. WTF is going on? Frustrating.
Tried all USB ports. All of them recognize the device, but "adb remount" returns: "error: device not found."

Do you have the Allow USB Debugging option checked? Maybe it got unchecked on accident.

Yeah, thanks. I've had it checked. I've tried to adb remount on all 4 of my computers tonight and none of them are finding my device anymore. Might be time for a wipe and reflash. Anyone else have a suggestion before I commit to a wipe?
I guess I'm going to wipe and reflash.
1)make sure usb tethering is off.
2)maybe reinstall the latest driver from http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html ?
I just wiped and reflashed and still no dice. Might as well just go back to my nandroid backup and keep searching for answers.
I know this might be a little late, but I would like to post how I solved my problem. I too was experiencing this problem, no matter what USB Port I plugged my phone into, it just would not work. It kept saying "error: device not found." After searching on Google for a quite a while, I decided to again play around in device manager. I remember a long time ago, a client of mine had a problem with certain USB Devices not working, the solution was to go into Device Manager expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and right click each "USB Root Hub" and click "Uninstall."
This did the trick for me. After I hit the right USB Root Hub, my computer detected three new Android controllers that needed drivers: CDC, CDC Abstract, and Android Composite. I installed the downloaded Android drivers for the Android Composite and guess what, IT WORKS!
Hope this helps someone.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. I tried uninstalling every single USB device/port/hub on two of my systems, then rebooting and letting it do its thing, then plugging in my Nexus and installing the ADB drivers. Still can't connect via ADB. This is a complete mess. No clue how/why this happened or what I can do to get it back.

try going into the device manager and removing the driver. Remove your phone from your computer then reconnect it. Upon the request to allow drivers to install, tell it you want to install from a specific location and point the driver installer to a known good copy of the ADB driver.

[TOOL] Ouya SuperScript - One click CWM, Root, Xposed & Play Store for Windows

Ouya SuperScript
By TehCrucible
v0.1
INTRODUCTION
So I originally wrote this batch script to simplify and combine some of the most frequently used tweaks on the forums for my own sake, to speed up my tinkering with the Ouya but I've decided to clean it up and upload it in case anyone else wants to use it.
This script is designed as a "one-click" modification tool for a stock Ouya on the latest firmware. Please read this guide carefully.
I ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR DATA LOSS. This script is built on the work of many others much smarter than myself and be sure to check the credits.
SO WHAT DOES IT DO?
In a nutshell:
- Install Clockworkmod Recovery
- Root Ouya
- Install Xposed Framework
- Install Google Play Store
WHAT DO I NEED?
- A Windows PC. I have included drivers for both x86 and x64.
- A Micro USB cable.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
1. Update your Ouya to latest stock firmware
2. Install ADB drivers
3. Run the script
4. Play some games!
There's a more detailed step-by-step in the included README.txt file.
KNOWN ISSUES
- None

Thanks a lot for this. A lo of people have been asking about an automated method to get the play store running on the OUYA...
Great works. I just think of root my ouya....
A quick update:
It's working. I'm on the latest firmaware which is JZO54L-OUYA, kernel version 3.1.10-g780994a. Completely stock, but I had already rooted my OUYA.
Anyway, I enabled the Wireless ADB which will instantly show you the ip and port, installed the drivers for 64bit. Then open CMD and type: adb connect "iport"
Then I ran the superscript and everything went fine.
Hope this helps. I didn't even have to connect with a wire.
But I guess if you wanna install the CWM recovery you should be connected with a wire...
Hello guys!
I can see the Ouya in Device list in Control panel but I can't connect it in SuperScript. Any ideas?

Did you install the drivers right? If yes, then you should open the folder where you extracted your files and right click while holding shift then choose open CMD here. Then write: adb devices
If your device is there, it will give you an output of the IMEI and name of device
From there, you can then tell us what the error is and hopefully we can resolve it...

that happened to me yesterday, but I overcame it by have my computer plugged into the Ouya then reboot the ouya and as soon as the computer recognized it started the script and it worked.
but I have an issue too
So I can run the script everything works except getting the recovery installed. the command prompt acts like it successfully installed the recovery then the Ouya proceeds to reboot into recovery mode. When that happens I get this menu? Nothing happens when I push any buttons on my keyboard. This doesn't look like a custom recovery.
I have tried this many times, did a factory reset and started fresh however even after updating the device driver it doesnt recognize the ouya....

No it doesn't .
I think I had the recovery installed when I first got the device a long time ago and I used the manual method in this thread, but I'm not sure that it works any more. Also do you have a wired or wireless keyboard? By the way only the Bluetooth keyboard doesn't work. May be if you can install the recovery from that thread, then you can proceed to the next step. One last thing, I don't think you will need the recovery except if you want to install CM or something. Other than that, I never used it before.

Which version of windows are you on? Is it Windows 8 or 8.1? Do you know how to disable driver signature verification?
Also, what does it say when you connect? Just nothing, or not recognized or what? You can try the adb wireless, go into settings/development on the ouya and activate it. Then open CMD from the extracted folder and type adb connect "ip : port" then check by typing "adb devices". Let us know what happens after that.

I have tried both from my windows 7 computer and 8.1 laptop. It showed up just as you said "missing driver", sent it to the drivers part of SS to get the driver, it said it installed but when i run the SS and hit option "1" it comes up blank...

I can see from your posts that you tried everything and I'm so sorry that I'm just a user and not a developer or something. May be you can try sideloading terminal and try CWM manually (if you haven't already) or sideload ROM Toolbox and try the flash recovery option.
That's all I got. But if I were you, I won't bother about the CWM at all. It's useless.
As for the Play store, try the mod that I attached in my reply and let me know if this one works for you...
Unfortunately the link is not working. Is it possible to update it, please?
What I do if my micro usb is broken :/. I only have wireless adb
.. nice .. now my ouya will run again .. thanks
I already tried everything but I can't make this work... I installed every single drive in every single way.
The best screenshot of the whole situation is on attachment. SuperScript simply doesn't recognize OUYA with default drivers, neither provided drivers (or any of its variation like "composite adb" or something like that. The "List of devices attached" always return empty, even when provided drivers installed (signature deactivated and everything else). As readme says, when SuperScript doesn't recognize, it returns "error: device not found" every time that I try something...
This SuperScript seems great to start things on my my untouched and default OUYA... but I'm honestly out of options.

Problem solved. It is Windows Drivers issue. S-Config did a great job explaining how you should do this HERE. I hope it helps people who got stuck. SuperScript did work, I did installed CWM but I was not able to navigate (neither thru bluetooth usb full keyboard). I'm going to try to figure out what I'm missing later. As I can see, S-Config's website is fully updated... I do highly recommend read there who is going to do anything with ouya.

ADB

hi
im trying to use ADB to delete some bloatware off of my phone, but im having troubles doing so because it cannot find my device. ive tried updating the drivers for it through Device Manager but the phone is not listed there. however, it shows up in My Computer and i am able to transfer files onto it.
are there any other solutions or possible fix for this?
thanks.
I'm new here so I can't post links. I was having the same problem with the Adb version I was using with my old phone (mostly getting "device offline" errors).
Google "15 seconds Adb". Its an up-to-date installer that weights almost nothing and includes all the necesary drivers.
Deleted Whats New with no problem.

Have you installed the three things that come with the installer? (Adb+fastboot+drivers)?
Also: have you installed the propietary Sony software for Xperia interaction (can't remember the name, probably Xperia Connect or something like that) ? Maybe that has some drivers that you need.
I asume you also have installed the Google USB drivers installed (use 32 bit version, NOT 64).
I'm just naming all these because I had all of them already installed before I downloaded 15 seconds adb, so maybe they interact somehow and that's why it works for me.
Also make sure you are using latest version of everything.
Edit: did you get on your phone the debugging alert when you connected it?
Edit 2: please post what commands you enter into the cmd.

Looking to go AOSP from Stock KK [4.4.4]

Sooooooooooo,
I have a Z1 [C6903] that I picked up yesterday. It came with 14.2.A.1.136 Jellybean 4.3.
I wanted to
Unlock bootloader
Install custom recovery
Root
Install any nice AOSP ROM [preferably LP-based]
I installed the Minimal ADB-Fastboot 1.4.
I also installed the Flashtool 0.9.18.2.
I also installed the Z1 device, Fastboot, and Flashmode drivers [version 1.6.2] from the driver folder. It first failed, and then I disabled driver verification then everything went smooth!
Device manager recognized the phone in MTP and Fastboot, and Flashmode modes. Drivers installed correctly I presume.
Then the challenges arrive:
adb devices returned it as "offline"
Android studio couldn't push a project to it because it was offline
fastboot devices identified it, but fastboot -i 0x0fce getvar version returned an error [getvar:version FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))]
Things I've tried to do to rectify the connectivity issue:
I'm using a SurfacePro 4 so I can't switch USB ports [only have one].
I've tried different cables - they yield the same result.
I've enabled and disabled USB debugging, revoked access, unplugged and replugged, rebooted, etc. Still no change in result.
Since the device had some OTA updates pending, I ran those and now i'm on 4.4.4 with 14.4.A.0.157, with some other updates currently waiting for me to accept so they can download. I've decided to post here for help and won't run those updates unless it increases my profit
PS: Even after the updates, adb and fastboot still are unchanged in their results.
Help please
Update:
It was a freaking USB cable. I had tried two of them. None had worked.
I finally unleashed my Anker USB cable and Boom! We good to go!!!
Thanks all!:highfive::highfive::highfive::highfive:

Excellent! I did that, too. even manually closed and restarted adb.exe to no avail.
The thing is, my Z1 DOES NOT show me the authorization pop-up! Ever!
I've done this a million times on other phones, and I know the procedure. It's just that this Z1 is not showing the authorization popup
Thoughts?

4.enable usb debugging
5.reinstall your drivers

This could problem with installing drivers as PC don't detect adb in debugging mode
So disable driver verification again and install drivers from flashtool remember to check
1. Fastboot drivers
2. Flashmode drivers
3. Xperia Z1 drivers
And restart
If the problem not fixed try adb universal drivers just Google it
I was have same problem with win 8.1 but I didn't all that I just installed win 7 and do it

Can't connect in fastboot, driver issue?

After doing lots of reading and trying many things I cannot connect in fastboot mode. I tried on two computers, holding volume down and plugging in usb cable. In CMD I run fastboot status and it just stays on <waiting for device>. I have connected other Android phones so maybe that is somehow messing up the device drivers, but I reinstalled them. Also when I run adb reboot fastboot from CMD, the phone restarts normally and not to fastboot but the volume down at least shows blank screen.
My goal is to get root, so whatever is easiest.

If you have used that computer for other phones previously, that might be the problem, Winodws is asigning the wrong driver. In your picture you have devices with warning triangles (no drivers). Try manually assigning the Sony driver. Depends on what you're doing, but you need a different driver for when you want to use ADB, so start the phone into recovery, connect it to your PC and look again in the device manager and manually add the Google USB driver.
If you are using windows10 and trying to install drivers, it doesn't tell you that the install failed. Restart the machine in safemode and look for 'driver signing disabled'

If you have used that computer for other phones previously, that might be the problem, Winodws is asigning the wrong driver. In your picture you have devices with warning triangles (no drivers). It's unclear to me which driver should be added to which device. For example should the Sony or Google driver be added to the section Android Devices, Portable Devices, or Sony?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. If you want to flash a rom, you want flashmode, volume down (-) then plug in the USB. If you want fastboot it's volume up (+) then plug in the USB..
MTP driver is wrong, you need to uninstall it and re-install the sony driver. Windows chooses the wrong driver by default and you have to manually add it yourself to make it work.
Having said that you mentioned that you are getting ADB commands to work, so I'm confused, perhaps the google driver is in place, but the Sony one is not.
You need both, when the phone is in fastboot it's presented as a different device than when connected via ADB.
Hope that helps explain a bit.
But if you're having issues with the drivers, should you really be going down the unlocking road? It doesn't get you many advantages and breaks a whole heap of sh*t.

I had this problem before. My fault before was install drivers in usb-debugging mode, then a change to fastbook/flash, and then the phone is not recognized or connection properly - despite me thinking I had correctly installed the drivers.
Took me months to figure it out. Boot into windows, then connect your phone in all modes, flash mode, fastbook mode, standard, and usb debugging - and for each mode - install the Sony driver again.
The result will be, that for every mode - when you go to device manager - you won't see an exclamation mark. If you ever see an exclamation mark again - install the driver. You get the idea.
Regards,
I finally found the f**kin problem the invalid driver was hiding under "other devices" only when the phone was in fastboot mode. Basically I followed the instructions of user2021355 from here.
Start Windows in test mode (instructions)
download driver from https://developer.sony.com/develop/drivers/
in admin command prompt run adb reboot bootloader
if the above step failed, you have a problem with adb and the solution is something different
open device manager and carefully search for any errors. I found mine hidden under "other devices"
right click on the errored driver and choose update
choose browse my computer
select the driver you downloaded from step 2
verify if working by running fastboot devices and you should get a serial number

I thought the only thing it broke was the camera and there's a DMR fix for that. Does it mess up something else?

Add the driver manually.

At least for me it wasn't enough to add the driver manually (I think because the invalid driver would still be there). So you need to right click on it, update, then browse to the downloaded driver.
OK I got it working with installing the driver, win10 bootet with disabled Driver Signature enforcement

I have the same problem with my Sony XZ1 Compact G8441.
'adb devices' shows my phone, after 'adb reboot bootloader' phone goes into fastboot mode (I think), the one with blue LED, but 'fastboot devices' does not show any connected devices. Same when pressing Volume Up or Volume Down while plugging the phone in.
After some reading I figured it was a driver issue, so I tried installing drivers from Sony XZ1 Compact driver and Sony Fastboot Driver.
Tried installing through device manager, right-click on faulty 'Android' under 'Other Devices', update driver, browse to download location.
With 'Sony XZ1 Compact driver' it found no installable drivers.
With 'Sony Fastboot Driver' it found an installable driver but had an error. Error said something like 'Did not find "Android ADB Interface", installation failed'.
I tried figuring out what you guys meant by 'installing driver manually' but I don't understand. Is it what I tried above, or something else?
My goal is to be able to install TWRP, which needs an unlocked Bootloader first. I followed the instructions on the official Sony Website for that.
Sorry. Delete this.

If you're using Windows 10 you'll have thought that you'd have installed the drivers, but W10 fails on driver install and doesn't tell you.
Start the pc in 'safe mode' (hold shift while restarting), then choose 'driver signing disabled', install the drivers agiain. This time it should work.

No, that did not help. The same problem remains. Phone is recognized when powered on by 'adb devices' but not recognized after typing 'adb reboot bootloader' and 'fastboot devices'.
Thanks for your suggestion though.
I got the problem that no matter what i do i can't install the driver.
Booting windows 10 with driver check disabled does not solve my problem.
Once i selected the driver to install i end up with a questionmark in the device manager above the android device. Taking a closer look reveals that there seems to be no driver installed.....
Any advice?
I tried:
1. Booting with driver signature check disabled
2. Switching windows 10 into test Mode
I booted ubuntu from a live usb stick and went from there. That works like a charm without the need of installing any drivers
Both solutions do not work....
