Supposedly, the bootloader is still v2.

have you rooted this? im currently rooted but unsure if i really need it seeing i miss samsung pay but i like debloating my rom and some of the Xposed modules that are working right now.

I tried rooting this update,it didn't want to stay running for whatever reason. Bonus though these files worked perfect im right back to stock again.
Edit.. After factory reset, rooting goes very smooth.

I still have no idea htf samsung pay works on every cc terminal, even old ones without NFC. Food lion and Best Buy are about the only places i frequent that accept Android pay. At Food lion, any location, after i tap the terminal all the instructions on the terminal LCD screen turn from english to spanish lol.

any way to make this into a flashable zip for flashfire? or flashing the files with flashfire without deleting everything? i doubt we can flash it like we would in odin as a firmware update but creating a zip and clearing caches just might work if the bl and rc is the same. not sure but im looking to update to this but don't want to go thought the whole set up and everything. i might anyway, not sure yet.

If you're rooted do a backup with titanium backup, flash fire should work too, it has multiple backup options.

If you have a full backup then why not just flash new firmware with odin? Flash, root, restore data. Cant really get much easier or faster. What advantages are you seeing with a flashable zip that maybe i'm missing?

Some people do not have access to a computer to use odin maybe? Faster and easier to use flashfire as well. Odin is fine for me though.

Hi, I have the SM-G35U firmware currently installed on my AT&T phone. If I install this, will it wipe my phone or I can just download this over the old firmware (and still keep all my data).

Yes, it will clear out your phone (downloads, data, etc). So before you flash the firmware. Make a complete back up just in case.

advantages would be doing everything on one device like flashing the update and restoring data at the same time. and further more possibly making the flashable zip pre rooted and debloated. making it almost a cutom stock rom without the at&t and samsung bloat. and for people wanting an unrooted install then odin would be more useful for flashing it in my opinion. having root now and flashfire i dont really see the need to have to use odin still for every update unless it has a new bl.

[Q] Will the locked bootloader prevent me from flashing T-Mobile Stock ROM?

I don't know if other people have asked this question, but I read a lot about locked bootloaders (and yes, I've been there with my own phone xD) and they talk about how it's not really possible (?) to flash custom ROMs with phones like that.
I have an unlocked SM-G900A and I'm on T-Mobile, but I really need the Wifi Calling.
Will the bootloader think it's a non-verified custom rom?
I don't want to send my phone to Samsung again...lol
Thanks!
You should be fine, i'm running a tmo rom currently, not sure if WiFi calling would work though.

Also, before I start flashing, if anyone knows about Sammobile firmwares- do they have modems inside the .md5?
I have it ready but I don't really...uh...want to flash the modem if it's there. LOL so confused...I saw another forum where it said the modem was already inside the sammobile firmware file, but some say it's fine so...I honestly don't know... xD

IMO didn't fix or change battery drain either
Big difference...drain was ridiculous...Now after using greenify as well battery is 10xs better...thanks for the share
it's posible to have something like this for ATT S6 edge model? I've just post in the edge forum without lucky. thanks a lot
OE2 has definitely fixed the battery drain for me and signal has not taken a hit...

I had to do all 4 files with Odin 3.10.5
Does it really wreck the signals? Are you still able to keep root (PingPong root) after this update?
edit: PingPong root works with this version.
I don't know about the signals, but the battery life seems it does last a bit longer. But I feel opening the task switcher is kind of slower now.

Does this have to be pushed onto a stock ROM, or can we lay this on top of, say, a rooted AOCE build? In other words, do I have to flash all the way back to stock (and lose all my apps/settings) and then flash this, or can I just flash it over what's here (rooted AOCE) since it's effectively the OTA update in non-OTA form??
Hmm.. What am I doing wrong? 8:31 and 11% left with 2:35 screen on time.
I rooted and froze the crap out of AT&T bloatware. Not using Greenify at the moment because I don't think I need to. I do use Android wear, LG G Watch.
I disabled detecting OK Google voice command, and also disabled enhanced LTE related check boxes.
I'm currently on Tmobile, but will switch to AT&T soon.

I'm curious about this too - anyone know? Is this flashable over a rooted AOCE?
I have flashed this over a rooted AOCE and over a rooted AOE2 and all worked fine.
Can you use flashfire for this or is it strictly ODIN? On a mac so I'm having a hard time. Also, if you do use ODIN do you flash each through PDA?
Thanks to all the Developers!

Anyone have this available on a different site, mega doesn't work for me. I want to install OE2 then root, rather then use OCE rooted, and any OTA update seems to jump from OCE all the way to OF4 if I am correct.
So I haven't had to use Odin since my s3. I have an att s6 using it on Straight Talk and cannot pull ota updates....would I be able to just flash the latest ota through Odin or is root a requirement? Like I said I haven't used the program in years since this is my first Samsung device since the s3.

I just flashed these and now all is well again. Thanks again!

Okay you should be able to upgrade to MM without a hitch. I've done it before on my phone and can verify that it won't brick your phone.
BUT. It may wipe all user data, so make sure to back up EVERYTHING before proceeding (I lost some photos and memos in my upgrade because my backup software wasn't cooperating)
You should be able to just OTA to the latest MM build (Settings > About Device > Software Update > Check for update)
Keep in mind that if you OTA to MM, you won't be able to go back to Lollipop.
There is another way, but this is the easiest and what I recommend you try first because all other methods will upgrade you to a pre-release build.

I Downloaded The Fw From Sammobile, Yes Its Was Very Slow, Thats Why I Re-upped It Untouched To Androidfilehost, Much Faster To Dl For Others.
Only For Snapdragon Variants, Its The Universal Firmware, Its Free Of Carrier Bloat But Has Some Samsung Useless Apps.

Im On Telus/koodo Using The Sm-g935a Without Issues, Shows Lte Signal When On Data Mode.
Idk If Auto Updates Work, Although Update Options Are Available From The System Menu
Instructions:

Hi Vincom, yes i have already read the article. the main reason im flashing the rom is because of the hidden DATA icon in the toggle screen. and also i want my phone to have the OREO update as well. this is my first samsung phone. i have experience in flashing ROMs in my xiaomi redmi 1s phone. so im a bit skeptical if i can do this on my own. this odin process is very new to me. so what is the worst thing that can happen it i brick my phone? can i do a hard reset and will it default to the stock AT&T ROM if ever?

yes and no, csc controls what bloatware and which settings are setup by default dependant on carrier and country, hence why this is a universal fw and not dependant on original csc files.
if u truly have the att s7edge g935a, which is what i had, then yes.

i finally finished downloading the zip file earlier. i will flash it later after i go home from work. and one other thing i need to make sure. with this Oreo rom, the DATA connection icon will be available in the toggle screen right?
@vincom, this Oreo rom has already the DATA icon to be toggled on/off right? this is one of the reason i want to flash the att rom as well.

I did read all of it but your description was vague on the att part so I didnt know if you modified it which it sounds like its just the 935u firmware and Im not a newb n00b
@vincom, initially got an error sha256 when i started to flash it. and my phone started to boot loop after i use a different odin, the prince odin. but after some searching. i fount out i just need to use the newer patch version of odin - Odin3 v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD and now im running Oreo on my s7 edge. hopefully this can help others too.

yup i tried that one the first time. thats when it gave me the error message sha256. then i tried the prince odin that gave me the error mmc something.
The author claims performance and battery improvements but has anyone that switched over really noticed that big of a improvement?
I mean i already disabled all the carrier bloat with adhell isn't that basically the same as installing this rom? Does the universal maybe have a different kernal/different system level tweaks?

will not change your current sim lock status, no fw exists that would change it
Thanks
Thanks a lot, this firmware works for me with the 3b patched odin on the first try.
