Sw update C150B140 - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hi. I have a L09C150B140 from cosmote Greece.
Is there any update to this version?
Can I find this version and keep it for warranty purposes and just debrand to an other firmware?
Thanks.

Probably there is not an update available, probably you have the stock rom of your carrier, will recommend you to debrand the device and change you update area oeminfo, you shouldn't lose your warranty because you are flashing and installing an original and stock rom of Huawei.

Hello All
I have unlocked bootloader and rooted my P9, but have recentley seen an OTA come through to turn my current version to B160.
I understand that I need to flash a stock Rom in it's entirety (re-lock BL and lose root) before I can proceed with the OTA?
The issue I have now is that my current build number does not appear to be available anywhere as a stock rom. I am in the UK and with the 'Three' network.
If anyone can point me to the stock ROM for my build or can recommend another stock Rom to flash that will work without issues, I'd very much appreciate it? :good:

Help!My phone can't get the system updated。

My phone was bought in Australia vodafone。But the system version has been EVA-L09C346B150. It is Emui4.1.1. Why do I see BBS inside a lot of people have b180 updates and I didn't
Because there are carrier / service provider / region variants of the system firmware. The reason why there is no update available through the updater that comes with the phone is because there isn't a update released for Vodafone firmware on EVA-L09C that is newer than what you specified.
I'm going to avoid updating to other region firmware because I don't want to run into cellular signal / network / modem / baseband related issues. So I'll wait for an update that is more suited for my Vodafone Huawei P9 EVA-L09C.

If you are on EMUI 4.1.1 you are on the latest. B150 seems the last one for carrier phone and B180/2 for unlocked phone.
Yep you can flash other region firmware if you want and you can use custom Rom as well which would require a custom recovery + unlocked bootloader at least to do.

L09C636/C34 'VERLIST.IMG' entries

Been working towards debranding my P9 from L09C34 (optus/au) to L09C636 (hw/asia).
Tried following all the guides and consistently ending up with C900 firmware, but managed to successfully roll back to the original C34, with version number displayed correctly on the phone.
My question is this:
In the C34 firmware that came with the phone (and that i've been using to roll back) AND the C636 firmware, BOTH firmwares have only two lines in VERLIST.IMG:
EVA_C900B000
EVA_Global
How then, does this part of the debrand process affect the version number displaying correctly, if both the successful original firmware and the unsuccessful C636 firmware have the same entries?
I had the same issue with wife's P9 Optus rom is based on the Global Version. EVA_C900 you need to flash both rom and data partition

Thanks. I managed to successfully get back to the Optus firmware with the correct version displaying - but I still haven't cracked the de-brand without it showing C900 firmware - from what I read, C900 is a cross-flash firmware and will not get OTA updates. My main concern was getting the Nougat update, which has apparently started appearing on the unbranded devices.
Did you manage to de-brand your wife's phone to C636? Does it show the correct firmware version in 'about phone'?
I tried to debrand my C34 to C636 as well but ultimately, I gave up on it and went to the debranded C432 UK version. There are plenty of info on this forum on how to do it and there is no lose in functionality and it works perfectly fine with the AU carriers. Realistically, apart from the build having C432 instead of C636, you wouldnt see or feel a difference between the 2 models. If anything, C432 will get updates sooner than C636 (as proven with Nougat).

Is there a Nougat Build for L19C900B190??

Hi all,
I'm running a Huawei P9 with a build number of L19C900B190. I am not rooted, bootloader locked. Having an insane time trying to find a way to upgrade from Marshmallow to Nougat. I can't find any other C900 firmwares, so is it impossible for me to upgrade? In my desperation I have finally resorted to opening a new thread. Which regions received the C900 firmware? I am based in Singapore.
I understand another method i can go is to unlock my bootloader, root my phone, flash another oem firmware like C636 or whatever and then upgrade to Nougat. However I am trying to find a method that can keep my warranty intact as my device is just a few weeks old. If anyone can point out a firmware i can flash Nougat for my phone type via the dload method, I would be really grateful.
Hi,
Just sharing my experiences with you.. I had the same problem as you. Tried to flash C636B190 firmware from stock firmware (which is customised by Starhub I guess Cause build number is L19 C20B150 and I can't find any info for C20 build) and end up having C900B190 installed. Regardless of how many times I reflash, build number stay with C900B190 instead of C636B190. Although I had the B190 build, but fail to install Nougat update via Hisuit.
You can try to use Hisuit and PC to update to Nougat, see either it will fall at 1% or not. No harm will occur on your phone.. I tried many times. After giving up, I just send the phone back to service center and revert back to their original firmware.. And to wait for OTA.
Good luck...
I ended up sticking with the C900B190 FW as it's a pretty stable firmware for marshmallow. I've read around and with some help, found out that only way to go to nougat is to debrand to a C636 FW and then upgrade manually.

Flashback Xperia XZ2 SOV37 Back To Original AU Firmware

Hello everyone, I just want to ask. I've Xperia XZ2, it's AU Model (SOV37), using Global Firmware (H8216).
I want to flash back into it's original firmware in order to use the NFC.
I already download the Japan Firmware (SOV37_KDDI JP_52.0.C.5.295-R13B), but I'm afraid that it will sim-locked if I flash it.
I'm also afraid that since this device wasn't able to unlock the bootloader (since the Bootloader Unlocked Allowed: No), can I still flash the firmware?
Can anyone show to me step by step how to flash the firmware (Not flash the STOCK ROM)?
Thanks in advance.
as long as you delete all the .TA files there shouldn't be any problem, though the latest japan firmware available is android 9
not sure what you mean by firmware though, since technically what you trying to do is flashing a firmware as in stock rom
