I don't think there is a setting for it anymore. Used the search feature in settings and nothing came up. I think there is a service code to disable it not sure which one

You check in the dialer settings? Open the dialer and tap on more. Go through those settings and see if it is there.

T-Mobile buried the setting. Mine was turned off.
I have Nova Launcher. Created a activity for Phone-99 went to mobile data and turned it on.

You're the man...... Thank you for this - My settings were already enabled but VoTLE wasn't working. Used your workaround to re-toggle Enhanced LTE services and VoTLE is working now

So I just checked this and I am NOT dropping to 4G when I make a call, VoLTE is working just fine out of the box. Are you guys saying yours is somehow turned off?

That is really crazy, I wonder how many phones are really like this and people just don't realize it. I wonder if a future update will bring back the option in the menu, not sure why they would remove it on purpose.

Mine didn't ask. It's set up for wifi calling. In fact, there's a icon in the notification bar I'd like to get rid of.

Can you walk through this: Nova Launcher>Create Activity>Phone-99>Mobile Data>Enable Advanced Calls-VOLTE I don't where you do this in nova.
Never mind, got it.

I have nova and don't see this option to create activity..

my device is G-930FD, even I installed the nova launch but did not find the option of Enhanced LTE Services, and only for options of Mobile Data and User capabilities exchange are found. So strange and felt disappointed.

So how is this done?

No, I did not have VOLTE for my note 7.

Nova Launcher>Press and Hold Screen>Select Widgets>Under Nova Launcher Widgets Select Activities and drag the icon to the home screen. A list of Activities pops up. Scroll down to Phone [there's 3 options for phone. Pick the one will 99 in the right corner.] Scroll down and select Mobile Data.

I fixed the LTE not connecting by flashing radio again. Thanks @jwthompson. But I'm still only getting band 2 . my phone said band 12 is enabled but when I delv more into it it also saying its failing to connect I'm not messing with those band setting in that dialog no more it seems to just brake LTE connection so I'll just stay with band 2 I guess and the slow speeds. I no for a fact that band 12 is active in my area but for some reason my n6 will not connect.

Galaxy Note 5 Doesn't Give Me Default Apps Option

default apps
Got the T-Mobile variant and coming from Note II.
When I have multiple apps that can open a item, I would get a prompt. With my Note II, I could then specify to open it one time or always.
With my Note5, the prompt doesn't give me that option. I do get the option to select the application. I click the icon and then a get a popup reminding me how to clear the defaults.
But, I didn't want to set that application as the default. I still want to be prompted for selecting the app to open.
Is this new? Any workarounds?

Anyone figure this out? I really dont want to have to install and app to do something the OS should already be doing. Seems pretty stupid of Google to not give you the option to set the default once or always like before.
I've got the same thing going on over here, very odd indeed. The GS6 doesn't do this to me.

To be clear, Google does give you the option. The behavior you see is a change samsung introduced in the latest version of TouchWiz.

gotcha. lol. either way, stupid idea to take it out. :cyclops:
I've for the same thing going on here, except that when I press an app (eg Chrome) it automatically opens it in chrome afterwards, no option to reselect unless I dive into app settings). Still very dumb. A far cry though from the annoying dialog box in old TouchWiz. The one that reminded you how to clear defaults. Every. Single. Time.
Yeah, I didn't like the old dialog AT ALL, it asked and asked and asked... I don't see why samsung changed it from the default at all, but oh well.

I thought this odd as well and thought maybe there was a simple fix.. I Google'd terms such as default apps for note 5 etc and noticed a ton of people complaining about other phones and how every time it asked them what app to open and that it was confusing and they didn't understand why it kept asking them. I wonder if samsung thought that by taking the choice away it would make the software easier to navigate.. they should have made it an option to select one time only, even if they hid it somewhere in settings. So far the better open app linked above has brought this function back and I barely notice it's not stock.

This app works great for the note 5. Doesn't work for all situations, but does for most. Not sure why sammy would remove the choice to pick to open once or always with the app. I guess they are trying to simplify things, at the cost of functionality. At least with this app you can get most of that functionality back.
This has been driving me crazy...especially since the functionality is still present on the galaxy tab s2 running 5.1.1. I tried better open with and it didn't seem to work for me. Maybe I'm using it wrong? Any tips on the app?

Unable to track Using T mobile FamilyWhere

Having a bit of a problem using familywhere on t mobile. I'm able to locate myself and anyone else in my family using a galaxy s6, an idol 3, and a nexus 6 that a bought this summer. But i'm unable to locate anyone using a nexus 6 a bought last week and a nexus 6 that I bought last month. I've checked and double checked the settings, have the t mobile build of 6.0. everything seems the same as the older nexus 6 (same build mra58x, same settings) but I still cant find a way to get the 2 newer phones located. I have also switched out sims from other family members who are part of the account and its unable to locate any of the on the newer nexus 6, but work fine on my other phones including that older nexus 6. Anyone have any ideas or tips?
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue on t mobile? Perhaps its not the device but the service itself. Still difficult to understand because I've even been able to track a moto e 2015 Verizon phone that has been unlocked.
i enabled the tmo settings for it online and it tracked my n6 no problem. it was so annoying though, so i disabled it again.

yes. but i dont think that would do anything for it, as all nexus 6 are running the same software, and i dont run any of the specific tmobile builds(im always modding my phone).
Ok so after messing around with settings I was able to get the phone to be located by going into the cell networks settings menu and switching off 'Enhanced 4G LTE Mode'. Not sure if this means I wont get hd voice or volte though. That older nexus 6 that has always worked in familywhere has enhanced 4g enabled, and everything works fine. Maybe its some bug?
odd. mines on, volte and everything is working. bug, maybe. or a bug on their end?

I couldn't find the analog clock in any hidden settings on a H830, but it could be a difference in the T-Mobile variant.

It doesn't work unfortunately but there's tons of weird stuff in there. Lots of hidden settings and the likes.

Sprint Calling Plus?

So is it just me or does the Sprint Note 9 not offer calling plus? Which SUPER sucks considering th S9/S9+ offered it right out the box
*EDIT* I found a way to activate it!!!!!!!!!!!
1 - Download Shortcut Master (LITE)
2 - Open it and click "Search" under the menu and searched for enhancedlte
3 - Clock the option that pops up *should say "Mobile Networks com.samsung.blahblahblah.EnhancedLteServices)
4 - Check the box for "Enhanced LTE Services"
5 - Search for LTEFunctionality
6 - Click on the top option
7 - Scroll down to VoLTE Test UI and click it
8 - Turn on N/W PS voice support and N/W PS E911 support
That's it. No root needed. Actually found this method for the international Note 8 but it works for the note 9 too. The original post is here:
https://community.sprint.com/t5/Sam...om-samsung-work-on-sprint/td-p/975749/page/14
I'd be interested to see how many people can stand to use that feature for more than a couple of days. In my experience, it makes every call hard to hear, fading in and out, and then multiple calls are missed per day.
OP, u got the unlocked USA version?

Calling plus? Call quality is fine to me. And long as its sprint to sprint you get HD calling. I never miss calls with calling plus either. Now, Google voice on the other hand i miss calls all the time. No call, no notification until i open the app but i love calling plus

1. Give credit to this OP in your video
