any one got Android 7 update for Nexus 6? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching a lot since yesterday and can't find anything yet

Not yet. I'm in India.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I'm in KSA, I'm even enrolled to beta, and using latest preview 5, but still no update, no factory image, nothing yet

https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images/
Normally we can check it at the above url.

I've got it. Enrolled in beta program, showed up 5 minutes later. T-Mobile, US

built number starting from NP is developers preview

Google are uploading OTAs for the other nexus's now, so we should be next.

Yep builds starting with NP are betas. I've still yet to hear of a single person getting the final build of N on a N6. Makes me wonder if there's an issue they found last minute.

In b4 thread closed again. The update isn't out yet, and I'm sure the second it is, someone will post links.

Closing Thread. Too many discussion regarding this.

Update 1: 2.20PM CT: LOL. Installation failed. Try again in 21 hours. Sigh!

AT&T started rolling out 5.0.1 this morning to Note 4.
Stupid me
I checked for an update last night and now have to wait 9hrs before being able to check again. Oh well. At work anyways.

Just sent a tweet to Rogers telling them AT&T rolled it out now and asking how long it will take for us to get it. I'm not holding out much hope for a reply.

They will just point you here.
HTML:

And tell you it's TBD. My old co-worker who now works at Rogers looked into it and apparently Samsung isn't releasing that information. As he said it's policy it classify devices that don't get support as TBD as to not piss off customers. Aka it's a coin toss if they are going to release it.
AT&T isn't the same as our devices. The closest we can get is T-Mobile. If and when TMO gets the update we won't be far behind. At least we shouldn't.
Yeah, I know of that link and they have pointed me there before. I've had a dialog going with them actually. I would like to rattle their cages "in public" as much as possible and Twitter is a good way to do that. I really was surprised to just get the Note 4 about 2 weeks ago, thinking it was the current flagship phone and then find out they have no idea when they are going to release Lollipop on it. Just bizarre.
A coin toss? How can a phone that hasn't been out for even 5 months yet not get Lollipop?

I was referring to the 5.0.1 update. It's very possible they will just lazily skip it and go for 5.1
If thats the case we most likely won't see a LP update this year. Remember Samsung had the oportunity to start LP in June and it has taken them 9 months just to get to this point. Considering no Canadian Carriers have been informed of the update even arriving, meaning they have not tested them and that in turn could create another month or two of testing. It's also been disclosed that Samsung has no plans on working on 5.1 at the moment. Let's assume that they wait to give us 5.1 instead of pushing 5.0.1 out. Since they have not even started 5.1 we can assume they might start in two months (Highly doubt it would be that quick). Then if we take the first time frame we add another 9 months plus the fact they wait a month after they build (check the build logs) we are at a total time frame of 12 months out for a single update. Skipping 5.0.1 would mean a total of 21 months of development time before the first actual LP update.
Of course remember this is all assumptions and theory based on what we have seen so far and I could be totally off. At least I hope I am.

Just the usual AT&T crap... Google Service needs to be updated after Lollipop installs, GS took multiple attempts to finally install, otherwise you keep getting a notice that the update is required.. Not sure if was just me but I had to reboot a few times to finally get the Install option to pop up..
So far I'm liking Lollipop, Visually much more appealing..

Non beta update of Nougat on L09 UK phone

I have been on the beta some time now and overall I'm enjoying but there are some niggles that I hope Huawei have ironed out.
Basically I'm wondering if there is any way that I can force an update/download or does anyone know of the official update release date?
Cheers,
DJ

I am so jealous. I'm with Three, and emailed them countless times to help me update. They said the UK isn't part of the beta to me 0/0. Mind uploading your beta apk? I will pay someone money to help me update lol

Ha ha if only I knew how! I got on the beta by requesting from Huawei not my network (Three). They had nothing to do with it. Then after nearly a week of waiting to be accepted, I was and I dloaded the beta. Huawei announced last week that beta testers were going to get the alpha before other p9 users.
I think the beta may have been closed now though

There is a good chance that these things are still months away. You will probably have a better chance flashing the full update. I cant wait and want to get on nougat ASAP.
There are other ways available and I am sure it will be released in due course. How about contacting Huawei direct for U.K. roll-out. See what they say. I have read that the new update may come via HI-care so your provider wont matter.

I think that mine came through HiCare but from what has been said from. Huawei already, the version number I got was different from that which will be released to others outside of the beta.
My software doesn't seem to have any Three branding at all so maybe it is released without input from the carrier.
If you are on the beta the carrier will not have any involvement, you are now enrolled on "open eu" and will receive the UK unbranded updates going forwards

That could also be an option. But none of the supported devices have a July update. So guess that isnt the case.
I think they maybe not working today. Just a few more months and then the monthly wait for a update is over..then no more official updates for the nexus 6

Yes. the last update will be in October.
Every update I've compared the new system files with the previous version. Only a few files changed.
No updates ..... it's the start of a quiet period.
Time to give a look to a new device. I am keeping an eye on the Plus One 5.

Since decryption and debloating it's a very fast phone. Will keep it a while.
The only disadvantage is the round back. On table/desk, input is not easy when the phone is spinning.

No any better stereospeakers yet B)
OP5 is sexy but still not worth
The only disadvantage imho is the soon no longer software support, but I don't really know what it really involves as security patches are not quite safer. (critical breaches will always be updated as XP was with wannacry)

Never had a problem with the round back. Using a case and always lay it on table on its front, since the case is closed no problm with scratches on the screen.
Phone is debloated too. But even without debloating it runs fine and for me fast enough.
Think it is usually about the 5 or 6 th of month released if any.
July update is live now for nexus 6.

An update on the new version, my first attempt at flashing N6F27H from the Factory Image (not OTA) ended up with the CPU running at 100% nearly all of the time with no Deep Sleep seen. I just reflashed the Factory Image for N6F27H again and I'll update whether the results are the same or better this time.

I know something. I was told by a source that it will be mid-late October or early November. I know samsung has an October build of Oreo with user keys instead of engineering keys. This is for the T-Mobile varient. Also the old beta testing app from last year probably won't work.

Good, gonna join now.
According to this site, posted today (Nov 1) https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-register-for-galaxy-s8-oreo-beta-program/ it states you have to go into the Samsung+ menu and 'register' for the Galaxy Beta Program. I don't see this anywhere in my Samsung+ app. I have a T-Mobile S8. Any ideas?
The registration & rollout have not begun yet. It "allegedly" (according to a couple sources) begins tomorrow (11/2). No clue where the one guy who has it got it from, as he will not say where he got it.

AT&T January OTA update

I've side loaded the last 2 monthly updates but want to try and wait for January OTA. Has anyone from AT&T received this months update? Other forum seem to show all other carriers released the update but nothing from AT&T.
Did side loading possibly prevent me from getting ota's?

I caught your lighthearted lol, but AT&T has nothing to do with it. New images are posted like clockwork every month, both OTA and full. If AT&T is messing with your update, how is it that your image is waiting for you every first Monday of the month? If you don't want to wait your turn in the phased roll-out, there are options.

It was a genuine laugh actually, I chuckled when typing it because of how much has changed in life for me over 2 years. If I had the time to do all of that still I would definitely do it myself but getting an update on day 1 when it's released would be nice, even the first week would be sweet. I waited forever for the November update to hit my phone so it isn't exactly a smooth situation by any means.
You are absolutely correct though, there are other methods available to those that don't want to wait and they aren't difficult to do, especially with all the guides out there to follow.
Gave up waiting myself and sideloaded this month too. Every forum I've gone to it seems Pixels on AT&T, unlocked from Google or from them, seem to be on the waiting list for the update. Hopefully with a "Global" version in January (Japan excluded) the updates from here on out become more routine.

So i basically side loaded this time, need to see if this repeats with next months update too. But most people having issues with late update on google 4 pixel community have been majority on at&t.
coincidence ? not sure. in kind of same boat though..
