Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" Power on when fully charged. - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Galaxy Tab S2 9.7", updated with the latest firmware (T815XXU2BPG2), has started to power on when fully charged. Usually I power off the tablet and go away while it charges. In the last days I find it powered on and fully charged. I checked that it doesn't power on on the moment is connected to the charger, I simply find it powered on after some hours it is connected. I tried to charge it with another original samsung power adapter with the same results (power off until charge is 99% and then I found it power on when fully charged). Someone could explain this strange behavior?

well, this explains why I always find mine discharged after I unplug it when my smart cable shows that the tablet is fully charged without opening the smart cover.

Found exacly the same problem on this forum ttp://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-s2/709518-tab-s2-turning-itself.html (sorry yet can't post links) Any suggestion?

Hi,
I have exactly the same issue. No solution ? Thanks a lot

Still no solution. Same problem on my wife's Galaxy Tab S2 8.0". Definetely a latest firmware's problem.

I don't think there ever will be a solution. We're stuck with an always on Tab after charging.

im getting this too on my s2 8", glad I'm not the only one. it never used to do this i believe it happened after the last update...

Well, it seems that the latest firmware update fixed it. I charged it twice and so far it has not turned its self on.

Same here. Latest update solved the problem.

[Q] Galaxy Tab not recharging

Have my Galaxy Tab for about 1 month, without any problems.
I recently noticed that the Tab is not recharging anymore.
When I plug in the USB charger that came with the Tab, it will very quickly charge to 100% (and I suppose stop charging at that moment)
When I then unplug th device and start using it, I can see it count down the Batterylevel in the Status screen. It counts down the batterylevel from 99% to 15% in a matter of minutes, at which point it tells me to plug in the power cable.
Does anybody have similar experience, or is my tab simply broken?
You should send it back to Samsung for warranty claim. This is very likely a batt failure
Update:
I have done a hard reset of the device and recharged it to 100%.
I was able to use it during several days, in a normal fashion, meaning that I use it during the day, and in the evening let it recharge.
So, the problem seemed to have disappeared. This suggests to me that it must be a software or configuration problem, not hardware related.
However, today I'm again in the same situation again.
I already installed the OS monitor tool to check on active processes and their cpu consumption, but nothing abnormal there :-(
Anybody any suggestions on where to look next to try to figure this out?
thanks
Hi,
I have the same problem. I use my Tab for a month and it always works well until last friday.
In the morning I pull out the chargerplug and after a minute or so the Tab tell's me that I needs to charge and when I putt it on charge after 10 sec's it's fully charge.
So I call samsung support and they told me to bring the Tab to the repaircenter and that's what I want to going to do last friday. But before I bring my Tab I complete hard reset my Tab.
Today tuesday I get a call from the repaircenter that they cannot find any problem what so ever and the battery is hours draining.
They ask if I use a memory card and I say that I was using one (sandisk 16gb) and they ask if I can bring it over so they can test it.
But when I insert the card everything stay's as normal, so I take my Tab at home without a repair and restore my backup with Titanium Backup and I have the same settings as last friday.
This is given me not a fine feeling as I realy tust on my Tab and hope this was a one time only.

I have the same problem....pretty sure it's not the charger too.
Anyone else have this issue?

If you are adventurous, please try this, as I have encountered the same issues previously. By disconnecting and connecting the battery, it somehow reset the battery memory in the processor and everything works fine after that.

Battery issues.
Hi..
I tried the rebooting the phone method by pressing the power on key along with up volume key.
I saw four options and I selected the first one i.e. Reboot. I noticed a triangle with ! inside it and symbol of android. I left the SGT in the same mode for an hr after which nothing happened. I powered off the tab . And when I tried to power on, the tab was not all getting powered on..
I am really worrying what could be the wrong.. !
Please some one help me to bring back my tab to life...
I think that you have to reset your battery stats. It is very simple in clockworkmod recovery (aka CWM). I don't know how to do that on stock rom, but you can search this information.
Regards.

[Q] Tab won't hold a charge but I see a battery when power is plugged in

So my Tab is completely out of battery. When I plug the power in I see the big battery sign but it won't hold a charge. I've had the Tab plugged in since last night & this morning there is no sign that it's full charged. I can get into "Download mode" but it still won't hold a charge. I'm currently trying to charge via USB but to no avail.
I tried searching for answer but couldn't find any. Can a kind soul help me out & what to do to fix my issue
Return to Samsung for service..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15121183&postcount=14
So I finally able to see what level my battery is at. Hopefully, I will be able to fix my issue when I get home. My Tab is a Euro one.
The charger could be broken.
Battery could be stuffed too...
Start cheap. Try another wall outlet, then another cable, then charger, etc.
Sometimes members have had the tab sit on the charger for several hours before the charge process started, like it had to be a certain temperature.

Help! My Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 seems bricked.

Hi Guys!
What is the definition of being Brick?
What happened:
It was low batt at 1% so i switch it off and plug in the charger. The moment the battery appeared, i tried to start it. However, i did not observe the subsequent event, and my phone now neither charges (no heat), not detected by computer nor respond even after i put in a working battery from another N7000.
I had been on paranoid android for 3 weeks.
Suspect power low or power died on boot up.
Any solutions?
Try another charger and another cable.

Same thing once happened to me.
Since it worked for me i m posting here.....for many it wud be ridiculous but u never know what to do in such cases.
I cleaned the surface of charging points by a small pin i.e. the port of micro usb where you insert the charger cable. Then i tried charging the battery. Wonder......it worked for me.......
You should try to remove battery and let your phone without any power source for a several minutes.
Then put battery back and try.
Try long press the power button (30 seconds) just in case.
If it don't work, try to plug an USB JIG to see if your note go to download mode.

[Q] Help please - Phone Bricked

I bought a Moto G 2014 Dual Sim XT1068 back in November and hadn't had any issues with it until today. I bought an anger 3000MaH portable battery pack and was amazed at how quickly it charged my phone. I used it yesterday and charged it overnight. I used it throughout today. I turned it off around midday and plugged it into my charger. When I attempted to turn it on later nothing happened. No, please charge, no **** has crashed, just nothing. The screen just stays dark. My computer no longer recognises it as a device and my portable charger will no longer recognise it as a phone to be charged, I know this because it worked with a friends phone, but not mine, and it still has battery (the charger)
What should I do?
Do I use ADB, ask Anker, return it, what is my best course of action?
If anyone knows what to do please reply as until this is fixed I do not have any ideas.
PS; No rooting, bootloader unlocking, or use of custom ROMs has occurred, the phone is completely using stock android.

I soft-bricked mine yesterday because TWRP kept crashing when I flashed my ROM. During my search for a solution I ran into a post from a guy with a similar problem of yours. His phone wouldn't charge at all.
He solved his problem by pressing PWR+VolDwn for 3 minutes. Then plug it in to a charger and leave it be. And make sure to use a proper charger (cable straight from the wall preferably)
Give that a try. Try ruling out a hardware problem. And return it as a last resort. Good luck

TRY this plug in charger and hold power for 2 mins+ to force a reset and forced boot up - holding for 120 seconds + is the key and repeat charger cable must be plugged in.
- power and volume down is normally to get to AP fastboot flash mode, agreed a good wall charger is needed not usb port power.

Phone won't power on after overnight charge

Need help Fandroids:
Just got my nexus 6 less than a month ago, have it running latest Euphoria 1.1 ROM. Was running fine last night, I plugged it in for charging and left it overnight. When I got up this morning, I unplugged the charger and unable to turn on the phone by pressing the power button. I held the power button for 20 seconds it didn't restart, tried another charger it didn't charge. I plugged the phone into my PC it's not being recognized. Any other ideas? By the way I'm using the Anker Quick Charge 2.0 18W if that makes any difference. Already did my XDA/Google search and pretty much found the same solutions I already tried.
Amazon is already sending me a replacement but I would still like to get this working if possible.

Outside of trying different chargers or plugging it into your pc and try to hold the power button. Doubtful. Glad a replacement is being sent to you though.
