Bump, noone on metro pcs has had this issue?

i have the same issue after updating to the latest android version 6.0.1
I contacted customer service but their operator won't let me talk to "that someone" it will just end the call on me even though bills are paid on time. They have the worst customer service . I went to the store where i bought the phone and they told me chat online !! They don't even have one

****.. so it was the update after all. I also updated to MM, and then the sim unlock tool would always fail immediately.
I called Metro PCS several times, they can't help me.
We need to go back to Lollipop to get that sin unlock app running, but it seems it's not easy to do this.

So I wrote a guide, thanks to @GotHeart 's advice.
Follow this guide and you should be able to downgrade to Lollipop and run the stupid sim unlock app.

Possible to root/flash/sim unlock G1 without active SIM?

Recently got a G1 off a friend as tempory fix until my replacement X10 arrives.
Phone is currently locked to T-Mobile and I don't have an active T-Mobile sim card.
I've been following the guides on rooting it but I've ground to a halt.
I've flashed the ROM back to the earlier T-Mobile ROM (i.e. before the exploit was patched) as per the guide, but now, because the sim card in the phone isn't active, I can't log in to my google account to get onto the actual handset.
Any possible work around for thid?
Before I flashed it, the ROM that was originally on it allowed me to skip this login step and connect via my Wi-Fi.
I hope you do know, unlocking and rooting are two different things.
Yes.. hence I listed flashing, rooting and sim unlocking as 3 seperate proceedures.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452316 should help you
Although if you sim-unlock it (since you're not a T-mobile customer you would have to buy a code from numerous ebay/craigslist sellers) you could just use your simcard to go through activation (look in the big APN thread for your settings)
That thread is big help, thanks!
Still stuck though, I've got DroidExplorer and all the other software needed installed, however I need to get USB debugging enabled on the phone.
I cannot do this without gaining access to the phone itself.
Going round in circles here!
No one?

Help please?

Hello I am new to android and the lg optmius 2x (p990) is my first ever android phone. And I am having some trubles with it.
I am looking to unlock it am I able to do this by "rooting" the phone to make it sim -free? it is curently LOCKED to fido (canada).
or what is the most simple way to unlock the phone? i have bought an unlock code but i get smome sort of neckwork error when i enter it making the phone still locked.
Thank you for the help and i am sorry if this is were it would not be.
Strange that give you an error, I did it with a friend's phone and it worked perfectly! Once we bought the code and put it all went smoothly!
Yes
Yes i bought the code punched it in the phone quickley read out a message and rebooted i poped in a new sim card nothing happend tryed another one still nothing no clue why..
the phone has never had a fido sim in it could this cause a problem? or is there a way to check if the phone is unlocked by not using a new sim card?
So are you saying you can access all features of your p990 but not the cellular network? i.e. you can access wifi and run apps but cannot make or receive phone calls?
If so, it sounds to me that you might have an issue with baseband/RIL. Try installing GETRIL from Google Play and see if you have a matching RIL for your baseband. If your phone is rooted, then you can use the app to update your RIL.
Nope that did not a thing it said it was all good and i even still clicked update and install then rebooted and nothing.. i may just have to call LG on this one

Security Error and Network Lock

A few days after updating my phone to Nougat, my phone restarted itself, and after the restart, a security error showed up saying "This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software and is locked", and after unlocking the phone a screen came up saying that my device has been network locked and it can be unlocked using the device unlock app, and the invalid sim card error.
I was never rooted or anything like that, my phone had received OTA updates. I did not master reset, but I rebooted many times, and the error message appeared on every boot, but disappeared after a while allowing me to use my phone. And now, although the error doesn't seem to appear anymore, i still can't use my network, and when I checked the IMEI, it had changed to 350000000000006, and the one on the back is different.
Is there any possible way to fix this without sending this phone back to Samsung/T-Mobile for exchange, because I had bought this phone from USA but brought it to Pakistan, and Samsung Pakistan says that they would charge me for the repairs ( I still haven't visited them, they told this to me through mail).
HELP PLEASE?
Bump?
Have you tried using Samsung Smart Switch?

I didn't try Samsung Smart Switch, but I had reflashed it using Odin, and tried a factory reset and it didn't fix it, i got it fixed through Z3X box.
This happened to me also.

I had taken in to a repair shop who had a Z3X box. That's the only way to get it fixed. He downgraded my phone to Marshmallow and re-flashed the cert. I live in Pakistan and that costed my Rs.1000 (i.e. $10). Make sure you take your phone's box with you as a proof of purchase because changing IMEIs is illegal in many places.
P.S. I can't upgrade to Nougat now, if I will, the phone won't register to the network.

Thanks mate. I also live in Pakistan - Lahore. I took my phone to Hafeez center and they charged me 1500. Now the phone is on Marshmallow. I'm receiving notification of update. I've tried 3 times but if failed to install. When I tap on update it downloads the OS which is about 1.3GB. then restarts to install but it fails when reaches 30%.
Can you please tell me why we can't update our phones. I'm using another s6 which is also of T-mobile and it's running fine on nougat.

Not sure about that but we can't update because probably our CERT files have been patched in EFS is messed, I got it done back in July 2017, and at that time, the guy who repaired it said that they didn't have Z3X's software update for Nougat, so they had to downgrade my phone to Marshmallow, and the patch they used won't work on Nougat. Don't know about yours though, maybe he used an updated patch or a different tool, you can ask that guy whether if its safe for you to update to Nougat or not, if he allows it, then try flashing Nougat through Odin, if it doesn't work you'll have to get it patched by him again. Don't update if he doesn't allow, otherwise he won't patch it again without extra charges, and if he allows that and something goes wrong you can blame him for that

Issue with unlocking - Please help

Hello,
I have an SM-N950U from TMB which was purchased direct from Samsung when it was just launched after the whole debacle of the Note 7.
Phone has been working fine on TMB this whole time. Today I switched to VZW and attempting to have the phone unlocked.
I tried to use the Device Unlock app on the phone, with no luck. It fails when I try to Permanently Unlock the phone.
I called TMB for assistance, they said that the manager has tried to process it manually and has been unable to do so after multiple attempts. Escalated to higher support who got on the phone and said she's unable to help and does not know why it is not working. Said she will be escalating to a higher support group, but as of yet, nothing from anyone.
Is there any way of unlocking this phone without TMB?
I've attempted to flash VZW via ODIN, both U and U1, with no luck. I also tried the U1 XAA and still the same thing, I get a message "Network locked SIM card inserted".
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a total loss and want to continue using this phone as I've been, just with VZW now.
Side note, maybe it's failing because the phone is already unlocked, just doesnt work with VZW? Not sure if thats a possibility, but is there any way to check to see if the phone is in fact unlocked or not?

Samsung SM-925A Updates and/or Custom ROM

I received a free Samsung S6 Edge from some friends. The phone had a busted battery which I fixed. The phone is still on the original 5.1.1 that the phone was released with.
When I try to do updates it says DM initialization not ready. Check network or SIM card. When I received the phone I was told it doesn't work with cell service. I checked to make sure and it definitely doesn't. There are no options for cell service in settings or the drop-down menu. This phone is missing IMEI numbers, IMEISV numbers, and baseband versions too. The only way I found out the IMEI number was it was printed on the back of the phone.
I am fairly certain the problems are software-based and not the motherboard but I don't know enough about phones to be sure. Do you guys know? I also want to remove AT&T from the phone to install a custom ROM on the device. (There is no OEM unlock in the developer options) Can I flash SM-925F firmware on the device to make it factory unlocked or will this brick the device? Will flashing the original SM-925A firmware fix the problems with the device? Please let me know if you need any more information to answer my question.
I found this: //G925A\\ Nougat 7.0.1 Latest Stock ATT Odin files G925AUCS7ERC1 | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com) Should I flash this on my device? Will it fix any of the problems I had on it?
Can I flash the SM-925F firmware? Is the hardware of the factory unlocked phone and AT&T versions the same or will it brick this phone if I flash it?
Since the phone is AT&T you'll have to go through AT&T for the unlock codes before you can flash anything other than an AT&T ROM. To my knowledge there are no custom ROMS for the S6 Edge, but I could be mistaken.

I know this phone is old news however, I actually have the S6 and S7 edge lying around and so i got bored lol...here is my dilemma; Evidently the phone (S6 Edge G925A) had an abnormal factory reset, which is a load of BS, and now I can not get that security detail, which you know calling Samsung always ends to NO AVAIL!! I have flashed with Odin the firmware that my device is on the ERC1 firmware and still I get stuck @abnormal reset. I've searched numerous sites, different forums and still to no avail. Something told me inside that you was the man to drop a line to, any leads or info will be more than appreciated brother...Thanks for your time....
PSSS....
I got my unlock code from AT&T some time ago but the code is 16 digits long and code only takes 8 digits, and of course to hear AT&T tell it, " I simply must not putting the code in correctly"...lmao
