Samsung Marshmallow sources have been released - Galaxy Tab S General

For devs and anybody's interest, Samsung marshmallow sources have been released on their open source website http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=T805
Now it's the time to root the tab and to cook custom mm roms and kernels.
Cheers

[Q] CyanogenMod 11 and AOSP ROMs for titan ?

Hey guys, this is my first thread but let me get to the point.
So about some time ago, I saw that CyanogenMod and other complicated ROMs couldn't be built on the G 2014. And the major issue, so I was thinking, was the kernel not being open-sourced (which is now true, thanks Motorola) and the fact that because the device was so "new", there wasn't any "device tree" which I refer myself as basically drivers for the phone. I saw that people were having issues building off AOSP ROMs because of display issues and stuffz. But since Today, I saw a new device tree for titan which is this one by somcom3x ( github[dot]com/somcom3x/android_device_motorola_titan ) and it seems pretty great to me. Now, I ain't a developer or anything and I'm really new to all that Android stuff but I wanted to ask now, what is retaining developers to not port CyanogenMod and/or build more ROMs. I'm sure it's because the phone is kinda new but it's sad to see such low development on what should be the successor of the great, popular 2013 Moto G.
Thanks guys ^^
We want ROMS ...please DEVS do something
We are all waiting for this. I think there are not ROMs because Lollipop its about to be released. Why make a KK ROM when in a month or two almost anybody would use it. I'm really anxious to hear from Lollipop ROMs for this device. There are a few stock ROMs but none for my variant xt1063

Guess we can only pray for Lollipop AOSP ROMs and CM 12 then
Maybe we can request The Cyanogenmod team to make CM Builds for titan, but The lack of ROMs is probably due to The lollipop release.

I hope so, if not, i may have to return to the nexus line sooner than i thought
it's easy to make a CM Build for titan, since Moto G 1st Gen has the same hardware And already have some builds. if anyone can create a thread in the CM forum requesting CM Team to support our device, it would be great.

Makes no sense to me since there are a large number of users (myself included) who are not interested in upgrading to Lollipop. I have yet to find ANY compelling reason for doing so.
So speaking for myself, I would be extremely interested in a Kit-Kat based custom ROM for the XT-1063. I am not a developer and do not have the required skill set to develop my own ROM. As it stands I guess I will stick to the rooted, stock version, and Furnace 1.1.2 kernel.
no one is going to make rom if that developer does not have any device to develop.
even though moto g 1st gen and 2nd gen share many hardware features ....they are not exactly the same devices.
kernel sources are vastly different...you need to make device tree and vendor tree .
i am waiting for lollipop update to make cm12 for this device.

its because they have all things set up in cm code. they mostly need to compile and upload the rom...that is no big....but when official lollipop is released ...the developers of moto g 1st gen have to make changes to device tree and vendor trees and may be kernel source too....so instead of having that i am waiting for official release for my xt1068 and then i am goning to make device and vendor tree to make cm12 for this device...little longer wait is always good than a impatient attempt to make a rom.

Thank you for clearing this for me bro, I was a bit confused and I thought that this phone is already dead. Although, I haven't bought it yet, I was afraid of the absence of custom ROMs when I would get it . Now, you gave me hope that devs will at least try to make CM for this device. Thank you.

Want Cyanogenmod 11 on your Titan?
Guys...
You wanted CM11 on your Titan?
Look here!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-t3024371
However... My issue is going back to CM12 Lollipop.
Kitkat is run on Dalvik. Lollipop uses ART.
Flashing directly (after wiping) from a KK based custom ROM, to a Lollipop based custom ROM could create issues.
Any answers please?
Hellow???

Any roms with the official source code???

Is there any rom with the official kernel sources??

Yes i am sure. It's a developer working on xiaomi who made it. Here is the android 5.1 from him http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/general/android-5-1-ivan-t3056153 and here is 4.4.4 http://en.miui.com/thread-44424-1-1.html
Ivan has a privat source. Not official.
These are the ones with official sources.
Try Bitti09's CM12:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t3036066
(Link in thread posts)
Or audahadi's Temasek builds:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/development/temasek-unofficial-cm12-t3012588
I should warn you, the official kernels are VERY unstable as of now, and the Devs are working on them as we speak...Expect a LOT of bugs.
(Wifi not working, bootloops, reboots, battery drain, pretty much everything is a WIP at this stage...)

Thanks for the links, 5.1 is not having official kernel and the 4.4.4 build is of Sept. 2014.... I did not find latest build.

Do you think it could be some old kernel sources? May be MIUI uses some other kernel sources?
Or it is possible that MIUI devs did the same work as our dev do right now - fixing bugs in kernel sources?
I'm just trying to understang how it works
If MIUI have no bugs so either it basd on different kernel sources or MIUI devs already fixed all kernel sources bugs but not within branch released and within MIUI code instead.
PS: Sorry, I'm C# dev, not firmware dev, so have no clue how those things works :silly:

N910U Lollipop Source Code Released

Just checked the Samsung Open Source website and the N910UXXU1BOC2 Lollipop kernel source code has been released.
I hope that a good kernel developer will take advantage of this. ☺

Marshmallow source codes for Mediatek Devices

https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/mediatek/+/android-6.0.0_r0.6
https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/mediatek/+/android-mediatek-sprout-3.10-marshmallow
So Marshmallow kernel sources have been released. I expect that developers will be able to compile custom ROMs and kernels based on these.

Android Lollipop Kernel Source For Galaxy Gear [SM-V700]

I am the original developer of the galaxy gear cyanogenmod 11 kitkat in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ernelcm11-cyangenmod11-kernel-source-t3199671
This is the kernel opensource of the Samsung Galaxy Gear to boot Android Lollipop. I used this kernel source when I ported CyanogenMod 12.1. The error may not be occur in this source. It's almost perfect.
I open source because of some people asked me to open source, on youtube or mail.
README
I ported the key part of this kernel at smdk4x12 devices
Ported mali driver in the devices, that OpenSource Samsung uploaded
Applied the patch at CyanogenMod Kernel Source
You should leave credits when you use this source
I would not upload the ramdisk that I worked

Wow. Awesome that someone is still developing for this watch. Anyone try it yet?
Correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt this kernel what we've been waiting for in regards to Wear?
amazing work...are you planning on releasing any of your roms?
