WLAN / mobile-data switching not successful - System creates costs for data in WLAN!! - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello community ...
I have a very big problem on my Note 5.
Here is my equipment:
Router: AVM FritzBox 7490 / Repeater: AVM DVB-C / Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (920C) / Samsung Galaxy S7 and various other WLAN-Clients like XBox, Playstation, Laptop ...
The Problem:
When I leave the WLAN - e. g. leaving the house - and coming back, sometimes my Note is not entering the WLAN again. The WLAN is turned on, but there is an "authentication error" in WLAN on Android - but the password is correct. The result, my data-content for september is already up, 'cause I thought I'm in WLAN, but the device was on mobile data ...
What I tried:
First I did a complete reset from the Note 5 via recovery menu including cache partition - But this didn't fix the problem - But created a lot of work
Then I did a full reset of my router and the repeater ... That was really more heavy work, 'cause contained a lot of MAC-Addresses ... but today my Note again missed the WLAN-Connection ...
My Workaround: Switching "mobile data" and "WLAN" manually ... But then there's the problem, when you don't think 'bout it.
I got the Note 5 in October 2015 and up to now no problems except this ... Is it possible, that the latest Android-Update is responsible??
All firmware on my devices are the latest, and the problem exists ONLY on the Note 5 - NOT on the S7 or other WLAN-Clients.
Thanks a lot for help.

Milestone Wi-fi/3G connects but not send data

Hello there,
As a newcomer, I found out these foruns filled up with great information and guys willing to help, so came here to ask for some help ....I am both excited and dissapointed with my brand new Milestone. Bought the handset about 5 days ago, which came with Android 2.0. Then updated it straight away to version 2.1 via "Motorola Software Update". So far so good ...here´s the problem I am facing :
While connected to wi-fi or 3g(issue is easier to notice due to 3G icon at the task bar, which points out in those small arrows data that is being sent/received) phone stops to receive data out of the blue. All connectios are cut off(it also happens when the handset is locked up). Some basic trouble shooting i did:
- tested all pcs connected to the same wi-fi network. No issues detected for these
- reset wi-fi router configs. Didn´t work
- tried other wi-fi router. Presented same issue
- swapped another carrier chip to test 3g connection. Presented the same issue
- tested my GSM chip on ther phone. Worked properly
- Reset phone to default settings. This time the connection took longer to drop, like 30 minutes, instead of the usual 10 minutes. After the first drop, it´s started behaving the same way again.
It seems pretty much that there an issue going on here (obvious...hehehe). I am considering the following:
- Might be a software issue. So, right now i am downgrading it back to 2.0 version, check if it works properly and then move to 2.1 hopping to get the issue fixed.
- Use retailer warranty and claim for a new phone =/
Could you guys help me out ??
Thanks in advance and Best Regards !!!
Guys, after downgrading version to 2.0, phone stills presenting the same issue. I think it´s turning into hardware issue =/....does anyone have a clue about it?
Thanks and Best Regards!!!

Several unique problems

Hi, I have several problems with my galaxy note that I have not been able to fix, find anything about similar problems in the Note community and I have no clue on how to solve them.
1) 3g - No matter what ROM I am on, be it GB, ICS, JB TW/AOSP, then whenever there is a 3g icon in my status bar, my internet slows down to speeds you cannot use. I once managed to try the 3g on the speedtest.net app and I got I believe 0,02/0.01 Kbps download and as you know, that is unbearable. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix? Perhaps flash a new Modem, a new ROM, try the stock GB that I got with my carrier from where I got the phone?
2) With the WiFi at my home: If I am "far" away from the router (the router is in one corner of the house, I am on the floor above at the other corner), then I sometimes get randomly disconnected and it says in the settings "Authentication Error". Again, all ROM's. I have a very strong signal in that corner (2 or 3 bars) but I will probably just get the answer that is expected - I am too far away from the router.
3) I currently have installed TW 4.1.2 GalaxtusMod v3 XXLT5 (latest) and I have the latest (1.3.7) c.o.h.'s HelloWorld kernel flashed to the device.
I cannot "uninstall" system apps using TB or other root uninstaller apps, however I can manually remove the apps using Solid Explorer. When I try to use TB (free) then after selecting about 30 apps in the batch mode to remove, then the phone would usually crash and reboot after about 10 uninstalled apps (these apps are basic things - maps, talk, youtube, widgets etc. no important system apps). I used to simply uninstall them 5 at a time and it worked, with my current combination though it doesn't report any error at the end but the apps are still installed. So if anyone else is having problems (I have problems on any configuration in batch uninstalling a lot of apps) removing in batch apps with titanium backup or has been lucky enough to find a solution then I would be grateful for a solution or just say if it happens to you too.
Also I always do a proper clean install, with stock firmware I use Odin on the PC and I always do wipes (caches, system, data, preload etc) before flashing anything.
*edit*
4) When I am charging the phone using the stock adapter but using a different cable (same length cable in good condition) then the phone is very laggy. The interface jumps and is jittery.
Luckily I have a brother who also has a Galaxy Note and he doesn't have neither problem 1 or 4 (don't know about 2,3)

I've often been in a corner upstair floor with weak wifi signal, only 1 bar, because router is downstair. Download/Upload's are very slower than when I'm near the router but I've never got the "Authentication error" problem.
Just a witness from my own situation of wifi signal weakness.

Thanks for that, I asked my brother the other day and he gets it but rarely... guess it is a problem with my router.
Has anyone else got some insight to the other problems?
Bump?
try different kernel/ modem combo. Most custom roms dont have modem, so if your with the same modem, that could be it. Try one for your region. see the modem thread in development section.
Now 3g,
- check your provider as well, ask them if they severed your connection. Some providers have been known to do that.
- check apn settings on phone if they are like provider
- check if your not roaming ( other network then provider)

Thanks for this, after I get back from Israel on 1st June then I will try downloading some modems to try out. If that doesn't work I guess I could ask my provider whether they have done anything. Thanks

Problem with internet freezes - Galaxy Tab S2

Hi guys. I have a samsung Galaxy Tab S2 ( SM-T719Y), Base Band T719YDXU1BQHB.
I think today or yesterday, it received a update, and now everything is lagging/freezing/droping connection.
Example: i cant see one history on instagram without it freezes (that loading symbol keeps appearing over and over again). Facebook algos lags/freezes when trying to watch some videos. Same in Youtube.
A while ago i had this problem, and then i "fixed it" but disabling FIND NEARBY DEVICES + changing my router settings to 802.11 Mode MIXED 802.11n + 802.11b.
Now, the problem started again and i cant see a full history on instagram without freezes/loading .
Anyone knows how to fix this? thanks

Question Wi-Fi stability issues

Even with the latest update as of May 2022, my new Tab A8 exhibits Wi-Fi stability issues not seen on the old Tab A7.
After leaving a connected tablet to sleep, Wi-Fi for some apps won't work and only a WiFi OFF + WiFi ON reset will restore connectivity.
Anyone else encountered this problem?
Same - it just won't stay on any network for long at all. It won't connect at all to my VirginMedia router saying 'couldn't get ip number'
Doesn't happen to me from what I've seen... Have Xfinity cable internet together with a Netgear router/modem.
Have you guys done all the system updates?
Yup, up to the latest from April. Tested on 2 devices and it's the same. Factory reset doesn't help.
I'm hoping that if not before, at least the Android 12 update will resolve this.
I just updated to Android 11 firmware update from last week - X200XXU1AVG1 - but the issue remains the same
On Build number RP1A.200720.012.X200XXU1AVC1, no updates I'm aware of. When this happens to me and I toggle wifi off and back on, no networks display. If I toggle airplane mode it they will appear again.
II'm in the USA, using an asus blue cave router.
What's everyone else using?
Anyone know what wifi chipset this tablet uses?
Got the update to Build number RP1A.200720.012.X200XXU1AVG1 it still occurs, and I'm also noticing bluetooth connection issues, both are cured by cycling airplane mode on and off.
Yeah... let's hope Android 12 includes fixes for this... really, the Tab A7 was a much better device with a nicer screen

I reported the issue via Samsung members app with a bunch of screenshots,
SM-X205 is now getting Android 12 but nothing available yet for SM-X200. Will probably take a couple more days
OK now SM-X200 also got the first Android 12 update and the results are... BAD! Still the same issue and I'm quite done with Samsung for now. Unbelievable that they do not test the basic functionality well enough. I expected some WiFi driver updates under the hood but it seems they are oblivious to the fact Tab A8 has issues.
Had the issue one time since the 15th it's not solved but less frequent at least
What I notice now is that the wifi will turn off randomly. If turned back on it reconnects but shortly thereafter bluetooth dies and cycling airplane mode is required
