[G870A][6.0.1] G870AUCU2DPH2 for S5 Active, have ZIP, need upload site - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

I've followed the instructions on how to pull the OTA files for my S5 Active on AT&T (G870A). I have the file as a .zip and it seems to have the right things for an update in the archive. Size is 929MB.
TL;DR - See reply #7 for download link.
My AndroidFileHost account is not for a developer, so I can't upload yet. I've requested access to upload. I'm currently uploading to Google Drive, but it will about an hour until that is completed. I'll follow up tomorrow, but the end is in sight. I'm running 6.0.1 on my S5 Active and it seems to be doing alright. Definitely less bloatware than the 5.1.1 build.
I will post updates to this thread as I have them.
Edit: same bloatware

My ISP keeps taking me offline about 200MB into the upload to Google Drive. Maybe they think I'm torrenting Mr. Robot S2E9 or something. I'll try dropbox next or wait for AndroidFileHost to give me upload rights.

You can split file using WinRAR.
Right click on your file and select "Add files to archive"
In the opened window, give a new name to your to-be-split file (e.g. G870A_6.rar). Under "Compression Method", select "Store".
Input your desired value inside "Split to volumes, bytes" box, about 100-200Mb
Click OK and you're done.

I wouldn't split the files, considering it's a file that needs to be flashed, too many opportunities for corruption.
With that said, I think Dropbox is your best choice. You could also give zippyshare a shot, it's a fairly popular hosting site with straight forward downloads (ie. No misdirection on download buttons, pop-ups, etc).
Edit
Also, thanks a ton for this, I've been waiting and waiting for someone to upload a zip of the Ota for the Active.

I was able to use the desktop Google Drive sync and I believe the file is intact. Uploading via HTTP is not very reliable.
I'm checking the link now before posting it. Should be ready in an hour or so.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, or if you'd be willing, but it'd be nice to get a checksum created from your original capture. Then we could download the uploaded capture and checksum to verify it's intact.

Here you go
I downloaded on my Mac and unzipped. The archive seems intact. For your flashing pleasure...

I guess I should add an 800x200 signature GIF detailing all the ROMs I run with a request for thanks. Are XDA 'thanks' better than Reddit gold?

Thank you for the reminder. I edited my previous comment to include the MD5. This was the file off the card, previously named desc.bin, prior to upload.

If there was xda gold, you'd be getting it bud, thanks a lot!!!

Now that I finally have the option, I'm really debating whether I'm ready to lose root or not. Another thing, since I'm on of3, I'm not even certain I can use this to update, as you have to be on pa2, 3, or 6?
I no longer have AT&T, nor have those updates been released as flashable zips, so maybe I don't have an option after all. Lol

I was in the same boat. I had to plug in an AT&T SIM to let it get the update. It was on PB5, so it had to go to PB6 and then PH2. I didn't think to try to recover the PB6 update. Sorry.

Well, I no longer have an active AT&T sim card, so I'm likely out of luck, but thanks anyways.

What if I flash PH2 on the OJ3?

is this an ota update from pb1, pb3, or pb6? also I'm still on OJ3, anyone know where I can find a way to update from that.

You guys can try, my guess is it will fail, I'm in the same boat, think we need to be on pb* for it to flash.
Give it a shot and report back, quite a few people are curious, myself included. Worst case, it'll fail and you have to reboot.
Edit
I should add, I would try, but I'm still on of3 and not certain I want to lose root, but you guys already have. If it works, I'll definitely contemplate updating. Good luck!

How would you actually flash this? adb sideload? Put on device and install via recovery? I'm in the same boat and currently stuck on OC5 in Germany without ATT service.

I was on PB5 originally and it wouldn't update. I took an AT&T SIM out of another phone and let it run through the update path. The first thing it went to was PB6 which was 200MB+. The AT&T site mentions that it has to be one of those three to get the update to PH2. After that, the big download started.

As mentioned, it may not work, but to try, rename it to update.zip and flash via stock recovery.

I tried that already, filename doesn't really matter. I looked into the files itself and this update is mostly patches from a previous version so unless you're on one of the approved previous versions this probably won't work unfortunately.
Does anyone have any pointers towards the other OTA updates? If I knew I could just order an AT&T Sim card and proceed through them I would extract every single one of them myself and post them here. Unfortunately I don't even know if an AT&T card will do anything useful here in Germany.

I have scoured every corner of the internet looking for those files, to no avail. And unfortunately, you are correct, I don't believe that it would do any good in Germany.
I'm glad I at least have root, for those stuck on oj3, I'd be pretty upset. Anybody able to get us a required pb* Ota capture, please do, you'd be a hero!

Stock KitKat & Lollipop Firmware SM-T707A

What I have here is a stock KitKat Firmware for theGalaxy Tab S model SM-T707A that I pulled from kies when I was trying to upgrade to lollipop a few months back. I have successfully reverted from the newest Lollipop BOE5 back to kitkat using Odinv3.09, and from there you can successfully root with https://www.kingoapp.com/ as I did successfully on the first try. I have looked in every forum that is available on xda pertaining to this tablet and have not found a single thread stating that anyone has successfully reverted from Lollipop back to KitKat so they can successfully root. Well here it is FINALLY!!! At a later date I will upload the Lollipop firmware, but since there is no known root for it yet I likely will not be doing so anytime really soon. Anyone can pull the firmware themselves using my guide of reverting back to KitKat and then pulling the Lollipop firmware manually from kies while your tablet is in download mode by using this guide: http://androidforums.com/threads/how-to-backup-firmware-from-kies-upgrade-process.458795/ (Assuming AT&T still has the firmware in their servers)
Now in case anyone asks, this does not trip knox since it is an official firmware signed by samsung. The process is very simple, just open up Odinv3.09 and input the 4 files within each tab accordingly. The 4 files are labeled in correlation to each slot in Odin so please use your noggin and don't ask me where to put the files individually. Put your tablet in download mode by turning it off first, then pressing the home button volume down and power button at the same time. You'll get a message that says press volume up to put the tablet in download mode, then just plug it in (assuming you have already downloaded the Samsung drivers to your computer) and press start. When the process is finished you would have successfully reverted back to KitKat from Lollipop with Knox still at 0x0. I hope this guide will help anyone with this wonderful tablet as you can do what you want now without worry of bricking your device for some reason.
Firmware version: KitKat 4.4.2
Build number: KOT49H.T707AUCU1ANH9
Baseband: T707AUCU1ANH9
Model: Samsung-SM-T707A
EDIT: 7/11/16
So I borrowed an AT&T sim from my friend and I have successfully pulled the updates for Lollipop. There are 2 updates and you have to do them both separately one after the other. I made it as a simple ZIP file for you to just throw it on your external SD and boot into recovery and select the option for apply update from external sd card. Now it has to be named Update.zip and since there are 2 updates to get to lollipop I named the first one Update.zip and the second one which is the actual lollipop Update2.zip. You have to be sure and rename the second one to Update.zip after you have already flashed the first one via Recovery. I tried updating the second package by itself from a fresh install of KitKat ANH9 and it game me a bunch of errors and just reset my device. So i think in order to take the lollipop update you have to be on the ANK1 (the first Update.zip) firmware before you can take the lollipop BOE4 (the second Update2.zip which you have to rename to Update.Zip). Please back up all of your data as this method will reset your device after applying each update. Hope this will help anyone (especially outside of the country) to manually update to lollipop if you do not get the OTA

As I mentioned in the post I probably won't be upgrading to lollipop anytime soon since there is no root for it yet. I had to borrow my buddy's ATT sim to even get the lollipop update in the first place as I am using it with t-mobile currently. I'm thinking of replacing them with ATT sometime in the near future since i will be going on a trip and need quality coverage where i'm going. Until then I would suggest either purchasing a sim from Amazon and paying for service for 1 week at a cheap price so you can pull the update and maybe intercept it to use for your own leisure, or wait until I go on my next trip:good::good::good:

Epg2 firmware

Anybody get it yet? Supposedly went official yesterday. About 300MB.
I unlocked your mum's bootloader.
It just arrived, and it was about 300MB. IT rebooted into TWRP, which just sat there. I rebooted, and then Andorid complained that the update didn't work. Well, duh!
That said, now I would like to know what I should have done or should do in the future. Any thoughts?
Mine just arrived
What's new?
Just found a story about it here - it is indeed the July update:
http://www.tmonews.com/2016/08/t-mobile-galaxy-note-4-note-edge-july-security-update/
Links in that article will eventually point you to here, where the update can be downloaded manually and installed via Samsung Smart Switch.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-16486#update_download
Since I am rooted I am actually not sure what to do, and would appreciate some advice.
300 mb is a big update. If you are rooted you will need to flash the new firmware in Odin. But you may want to hold off. I am note sure it adds any new features and will probably make your device incompatible with any ROMs that are currently available.

So, where should I be looking on my Note 4 for the 300 MB download that happened earlier this morning, so I can delete it or copy/move it off for later?
I just got it but waiting to see if there are any bugs or negative effects. I'm not rooted so there's no way to go back.

Yep...trying to figure out how to avoid the update too.
I'm stick rooted with XPosed, Beastmode kernel, and a few other mods.
I just did the update, and I can confirm that TWRP, root, and xposed all work.
I don't know about compatibility with custom roms though.

So just to be clear, Overdrive is a MM-based T-Mobile ROM, basically just debloated and with some minor tweaks.
As a convenience, he has linked to "N910T Stock Odin Full EPG2 Firmware File," which we can flash using TWRP onto an otherwise stock+rooted MM 6.0.1.

New OTA: G920TUVS4EPH2

Got this OTA after doing an ODIN of EPF1 to my phone. Baseband is updated to match, unsure about bootloader but I doubt it. If someone wants a ROM dump and is willing to tell me how....

Question for anyone who knows: If you flash this do you lose the ability to install custom low level software (firmware, recoveries, etc)?

It's possible, our S6 won't get locked on any 6.0 firmware's

And for clarification EPH2 was just security fixes.. everything else is still the same.

So I'm downloading at the slow method.. If someone else has not uploaded the image, I will upload it by late tonite..

I'm making my final attempt to upload it onto my Android File Host... It should be up by morning if it uploads correctly.. Just Look For Zaphodspeaks in Android File Host if I haven't posted it yet..
I have many tasks to do this week ends.. Mainly upkeep the the old house and updating some of the old wiring while its getting cooler..
Finally, I uploaded the Image.. I had to recompress it since it kept giving me errors at the very end, just unzip and install in ODIN

Got my phone rooted, custom rom, and kernel that I was using before, no problem.
Last night (9/27) I got a firmware update for my factory USA unlocked 920T. Sammobile shows it was released on 9/26. It was a 50MB file that updated the Android secruity patch date to Sept. 1. No other changes. I noticed the Samsung Smart Manager app/widget shows I'm using 5% less memory now. I don't know if it's better RAM management or Samsung modified the app/widget to show different figures LOL. I suspect the t-mobile 920T will get the update soon.

I'm looking to find the official update zip (flash able through stock recovery) for that particular build.
Does anyone happen to have it, or know of a link to it? I've looked around and all the OTA zips I've found are too old.
Please around and thanks.

Well, better late than never. I am sure you found it by now. However, a quick search on duckduckgo.com with the terms "verizon stock firmware +s6 +edge" results in many possible sources. Feel free to add the build number you are looking for. Here is a site I trust (also happens to be the second search result next to xda-developers.com ).
http://www.galaxys6edgeupdate.com/galaxy-s6-edge-stock-firmware/
Scroll down almost halfway down the page (passing T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T) and there you have it.
Good to know. Thanks.

Thanks to the thread below, I was able to snoop around and found another source for you.

Yeah I might just need those Nougat fw files. I store a lot of stuff offline.
I know, double post, but my problem now is that I uploaded the ODIN PI2 package originally WITHOUT the HOME_CSC file. The original package came with both Home and Carrier CSC files. To complete the work, we need the HOME_CSC file for PI2, to upgrade from PH1.
And back in the day a few of my files from GDrive for the G925V got deleted because of others. A couple files I can't get back now because that was my last backup.

The current J320A, J320AUCU2AQC1, is available for sale. If someone wanted to take one for the team.
And I can vouch for that site. I had to buy the newest AZ to fix my baseband.

Do you still need this one? I would be glad to help.
Thanks to @johngr77 for pointing out J320AUCU2AQC1 was available to download for free. It's now in the OP.
J320AUCS3AQG1 is the current att firmware, if anyone comes across it please share.
Found the AQG1 on one expensive paid site, so maybe it would appear somewhere for free:

nice. In the mean time I added the OTA posted by @SBCarr
But please read post #2 before installing...i really put it here more for recovery reasons, cause if you're on J320AUCS3AQG1 and have to recover, you'll have to use AQC1 with broken baseband then upgrade using the OTA... and if your like me with no att sim, this is the only way
If my J320A isn't rooted, can I flash the stock AQC1 to AQG1 OTA file through the stock Samsung recovery ?
If yes, will there be any side effects?
Thanks
I'm going to assume no, but am unsure... maybe if you used the original file posted by sbcarr, mine was edited. But the issue is stock recovery flashes it from /cache/fota directory. stock recovery also at some point refuses to install from sd, sometimes it will let you tho
The AQG1 OTA download link is broken. @DamienMc

Late last night I used it and it failed, fiddled around a little and I was bricked. So I just pulled the link till I looked into it... want to test it? Lol
Ok links are back...the AZ ota was fine. but the A ota would fail if rooted without kingroot, with kingroot was fine tho. Weird?
I just edited the updater script more and everything is good now.

I was able to use the eng_root kernel, which technically isn't modifying your device, to push the AZ ota to my phone. But I had the legit db files to start with. When I get time I'll see I if I can't spoof a A ota db file and see if I can get it to update
AQG1 became avail. also on (paid) gsm-firmware, so maybe it'll show up soon somewhere for free

Figured out how to pull the firmware from smart switch, but could only get AZ, then found it here ... I'll add it to the OP a little later.
If anyone is on stock att on AQC1 feel free to inbox me and I'll help get the AQG1 files

I'm currently on AQA1(J320A), but if I'll have the AQG1 files, I would flash to AQC1 then to AQG1, or should I be on AQC1 to get AQG1 files ?
Using smart switch I don't think it matters which your on because it's the full firmware, ota just patches files so you need aqc1... if you're not rooted hook up to smart switch and see if it says there's an update available and which one it offers

I hooked up my phone (AQA1), and smart switch says "up to date", and doesn't offer anything.
I read on XDA that there is some method to trick smart switch using a free program called Fiddler.
Hmm ok it's not just me then, thought it was cause of my baseband or sim card. I downgrade to apj2 and it says the same.
Think that fiddler trick just spoofs your carrier, and that's what we're after att specific firmware

If I will upgrade to AQC1, is there a method to get AQG1 (no root)? do you know one ?

Wait your not att?
That's why smart switch didn't work.
I don't know a way besides official ota
Thank you for this. This helped me recover my SM-J320A It was showing baseband, IMEI and IMEISV all Unknown, and Sim Card not detected. After using Flashfire I flashed with J320AUCS3AQG1 **see post #2 (OTA) and then Flashed J320AUCU2AQC1 (newest available) and now everything is back to normal and working great.
BTW I am still learning and Unfamiliar with OTA. What exactly is it and is it needed? I tried to do some searching on google but no information came up. Reason I ask is I read post #2 but was unsure what it exactly means and what the proper way to do this is. Since my phone is now working I didn't want to break it just yet again LOL.
