Yes completely. Nightlies and OpenGApps recommended.

Yes there is, but nothing assures you'll manage to do it fully & preserve all your data...
Once booted, keep saying Ok to all "Unfortunately, ... has stopped",
pull-down the notifications panel, press the Settings icon,
go in Apps, menu, Show System, scroll to Setup Wizard (green Android logo),
Permissions, and activate Contacts + Telephone.

If not ok, try this : CM Wiki
If still not, then I advise a clean factory-reset reinstallation...
The AOSP Keyboard does not support swipe gestures ?
Unfortunately the sources for swipe gestures are not available

The ROM supports f2fs only for /data and /cache. /system is formatted in ext4 willy-nilly due to block-based flashing (a new method used to pack & flash ROM's since Lollipop).

"Format Data" is only meant to format sd card. After this, you need to go to Wipe -> Advanced Wipe and then select everything and wipe it. After that, go to Reboot -> Recovery. When you reboot back into recovery, copy cm13 and gapps to the sdcard, and flash them.
If you properly follow the instructions I have provided in the recovery thread and this thread then it is not hard.
Got an "Encryption unsuccessful" message during system load

It works! Great job, rqmok!

Encryption Unsuccessful - Reset Phone
Finally successfully installed CyanogenMod 13.0 on HTC Incredible S [Version 1.0]
I was getting same error: Encryption Unsuccessful ..... Reset Phone
What I did was following and was successful. I am sure some of the steps might be unnecessary and be skipped:
1. Inserted SD card (16GB) into laptop deleted all partitions and recreated only one primary partition with format FAT32
2. Reinserted SD card to phone and into twrp recovery mode (ver 3.0.2.0) and performed following operations:
- Format Data
- Advance Wipe - Selected all partitions to wipe.
3. Just to check what has happened to my SD card, I inserted into laptop and checked using "MiniTool Partition Wizard Free". I found SD card had format ext3.
4. While in recovery mode copied CM13 ROM and Gapps to SD card and installed zips.
5. Rebooted to system. Soon after ---- CyanogenMod logo ---- optimizing app 1 of 11 ---- Marshmallow setup screen
Did not had much time to play with but for sure Camera, YouTube & Play Store definitely working.

In Recovery mode, Under mount you have option to disable/enable MTP. If MTP is enabled you can transfer files to SD Card. However correct drivers is important. You will not see device as a separate drive but under This PC/ My computer.
Further sharing my experience:
I successfully installed CM13 using windows 10, Surface pro 3. There was a time when I could communicate with HTC Incredible S using ADB commands only and not fastboot commands. When HTC is in fastboot mode it uses different driver. After extensive reading on XDA I found that on installing compatible HTC sync drivers, under device manager you would see two separate Sections. Under section Android USB Device will be My HTC and under Portable Devices section would be HTC Incredible S. I use to get Error code 10 when my HTC was in fastboot mode. Once I changed its driver (found on XDA) problem got solved. i.e I could communicate in fastboot mode and in recovery or booted up mode. After this I am working with Windows 10 most of times.
Also use latest version of ADB to use ADB sideload feature.

Follow instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373697
Download all required software from the links in the thread. It works.
I have just released version 1.1. The changes have been listed, but the biggest change is reverting back to older wifi drivers in the kernel. This should make the wifi connect to the network even faster. Also, it should make wifi more stable.

Good start.
Look around for how to properly fix the fastboot bootloader drivers on Windows,
inside the Drivers manager (devmgmt.msc), to allow the fastboot device to be seen.

Basically now my issue is that whenever i connected my device to laptop using USB cable, it will start up with red LED light, sony logo and go black screen and hang there. Flashtool shows "device disconnected" and "device not found" for fastboot. My device can't get into fastboot as well. I connected it while holding the volume up button, it is on with blue LED light, but after half minutes it reboot and the LED turns red, and the cycle keeps going on. After a few times, the cycle stop and the device is off, with green LED light. I really have no ideas on how to do that. Help please..

for now everything ok, but u need to fix some bugs in status bar like battery icon and it's better to change on it to make the battery icon changeble like old android versions, the twrp needs some edits cuz it tooks from me 4 hour to install the rom without bootloop.
there is another problem in twrp i tried to downgrade my phone to neo's CM but there is a storage issuse + when u install the rom from internal memory u can't install anything after it untill u restart again and copy the files again ..
u can change the trebuchet launcher to Xperia home launcher i think it's better and easy to use, and there is the night mode i using it always is missing
radio works great, camera works great, messaging works great. just fix those bugs if u need any screenshots or logs just tell me
good luck and thanks for this rom
hey i think you have another bug or something like that, when you put music files in internal memory i can't find music in music app or sony music app i'll try again maybe i can solve it
After Overcoming some issues I have successfully installed this ROM.
Issues that i have to overcome is this.
I came directly from CM11, So i have to go through Data unification process,
which was not 100% successful.
After unification It shows only 1.96GB of user data,
After some hair pulling out moments I found a way
Go to the Wipe --> select Data Partition --> Resize File system --> voila,
Now you have 12.8GB of user Partition
Issues I have in this ROM as follows.
Can't change the battery Icon.
Long Press Back Button Kill Foreground app was missing. (I'm so addicted to this feature)
cLock Widget Weather function not working. (It's a cLock app fault. Not working in CM11 Also),
I suggest using Chronus (Very Similar app)
Album Art missing bug. (only some of the mp3 files, I should analyze those mp3s)
Always Using more than 60% of memory. :crying::crying:
Can't Play Temple Run Moded version

Don't know what's the wrong..
I think its caused by Data Unification Process
Try this steps if you didn't try till now.
Get in to TWRP Recovery.(Version 3.0.2.0)
Wipe Everything (system, cache, data, internal storage, legacy sdcard)
Put the Rom zip file in micro sd card & flash the rom from it
Hopefully this will create Data Unification properly.
Check the Data partition size from TWRP.
if it is not showing entire 12.8GB, executes the resize file system.
Now you should have the Entire User Data Partition.
These steps Works for me, If not don't blame me. :silly::silly:

i am tired of this everytime i try to wipe data, legacy sdcard i face this
this is my problem if i can solve it, i can work on my phone ..
after 11 hours of work i realized that the problem is from resize_userdata or i guess from it
i tried to resize the storage from ADB, then i flashed stock rom then CM 12 by Neo now i can use the legacy storage + recording videos, after that i tried to install CM14 but it says error ..
is there anyway to flash the rom without the resize_userdata ?

I think there was no space assigned to Legacy SDcard portion after the data unification process
So you have to resize the Data Partition to allocate all the usable space.
Let's wait for Adrian DC Reply.
I think, that the system take too much battery, even if the display is off. Behind the night, it take about 30% for me, what about the others?
Maybe this is off-topic, but is there any option to donate the developer?

I´m on the latest Build (20161024), and for me it is all fine, and i didn't noticed any weird behave before latest Build.
And yes, you can find Adrian DC's Donation page at his Profile.
I flashed last buid (20161024) and find, that I had NFC turned ON, so I turn it OFF and now it looks better with the battery life and I have to say, with the last build, starting apps is much quicker, thanks
btw: For the next build I suggest to get the NFC shortcut to the quick panel in status bar.

The "N" is for Nougat
some words of wisdom:
1- This is an Android 7.1 Nougat-based release - update your third party addons to ensure compatibility
2- The CM backupscript.sh in recovery will ignore and remove incompatible applications from your system partition (these are usually non-CM apps that users have opted to install). You must install a compatible app (or app pack) to regain that functionality
3- You can flash CM14.1 nightlies directly from CM13 snapshot or CM 13 nightlies (no need to wipe, BUT for optimum results, better follow Clean Update procedure explain below.), provided you read and followed items 1 and 2
ALLERT:
4- Once one CM14 nightlies, you cannot downgrade back to CM13 – if you are thinking of just exploring the release, then take a backup of your existing installation if you want to go back to it.
5- You’ll need an N compatible recovery, i.e. TWRP 3.0.2-1
Happy Flashing,

Nightly Changelog
OpenGapps choose ARM>7.1>micro/nano/pico (micro might still be too big... unless you use the custom install options that allows you not to install everything from the package)
Either way, you might want to further customize your installation (both gapps and system apps), refer to this tutorial
REMEMBER:
ONLY use TWRP 3.0.2-1 or up
/!\ Before installing, read post #3. /!\
HOW TO INSTALL
Requirements: Unlocked Bootloader, a Nougat compatible Custom Recovery and the Downloaded Zips.
NB: Since 20161118, with a Lollipop compatible recovery like TWRP 3.0.2-0, you will get stuck to recovery, It is MANDATORY to update to 3.0.2-1.; the following error is still present : E:unknown command [log] but will not prevent install.
Place the rom and other like Gapps on the internal Storage or on a USB OTG
Reboot to recovery using the hotkey ( PowerOff+Vol- => With Vol- Go to Recovery => Select the recovery option with Vol+ )
Do Wipes (Data, Cache, Dalvik and System partitions) if you are in a different ROM.
Select the Zips
Swipe to install (if using TWRP)
Reboot and wait 2-3 min
-Not confirmed for CM14 as of 20161109- Pro-TIP : To avoid GPS locking issue, refer to #Q7 of the CM12 dedicated FAQ
HOW TO DIRTY UPDATE
Download the rom zip using CM Updater or third party apps like CM downloader, CyanDelta...
Press update.
Wait 2-3 min
HOW TO CLEAN UPDATE : this kind of update helps to avoid any update related issues, you can follow this when coming from CM13 and want to keep you personal data.
ProTip : Read the Changelog and disable features that have been updated between your build and the latest build (this is important when Theme features are updated and it could break things)
Download the rom zip on the CM Website or using CM Updater or third party apps like CM downloader, CyanDelta... make sure you have gapps zip on your device
Reboot to recovery using the power menu or the hotkey ( PowerOff+Vol- => With Vol- Go to Recovery => Select the recovery option with Vol+ )
Format /system, /cache and /dalvik-cache (advance format in wipe menu of TWRP); do NOT Wipe DATA!
Select the Zips
Swipe to install
Reboot and wait 2-3 min
Notes, Bugs, and miscellaneous.
Tips and notes:
When choosing a Gapps package ensure it can fit into /system when flashed.
Nano gapps package is recommended as it fits and provides everything in a base package you will need for gapps support. Then, you can install the other google apps from the store later on if needed.
Remember nightly builds are experimental: they can and will be broken from time to time. Always have a backup at hand.
To transfer files from/to PC when plugged in you will get the charging mode prompt status in the status bar, then click it to change from charging mode to transfer files.
Considering the quite low amount of Falcon users left over here, I'm not sure about making a full-sized FAQ;
For now, the following will take that purpose:
[SIZE=+1]Q1: Where are themes/tiles/whatever gone?[/SIZE]CM14.1 I still at early stage of public development, you should expect to face bugs, missing features, regressions, and other things closely related to WIP. Do not complain about it (even less if someone already discussed it in the thread)
[SIZE=+1]Q2: How to get root?[/SIZE]
Enable Dev settings (multiple tap on "Build Number" in /settings/about phone/)
Go to Dev settings
Root access : Change to Apps and ADB
[SIZE=+1]Q3: Where is the Terminal?[/SIZE]It is now disabled by default, simple enable it in Dev Settings by toggling "Local Terminal"
[SIZE=+1]Q4: What's that # at the to right corner of my screen sometimes?[/SIZE]This icon warns you that an app or service is currently using its granted root access, maybe your file manager or some automated actions like Greenify auto hibernate is running (in the background?)
[SIZE=+1]Q5: Why does swipe to write feature doesn't work although it is enabled? [/SIZE]There is a fix for that "known" issue: see here.

Just downloaded the ROM and Pico GApps.
I'm running CM14.1 unofficial before. I'll do the Clean Install anyway.
Lovely, thanks. Unfortunately the ROM does not seem to pick up my SIM card. Using XT1033. I'll be waiting for a later build.
Edit: Pressing on "Skip" when I am being asked for my Google Account sends me back to the "Use Mobile Data" screen.
Edit 2: I can receive calls and messages, but can't send a message or call someone myself.
Dual sim works, internet (I use 2G) works and none of the bugs* of the unofficial version.
Don't do a dirty update or a clean update mentioned in the OP.
Just do a clean flash - wipe everything, including data. Worth the extra effort.
*Edit: except the occasional extra swipe up on the lock screen. I've heard abyss kernel fixes this, but I like the stock kernel so not flashing it myself.

as of CM14.1-20161109
I performed the "clean update" I had wrote before, (before it I reverted to stock theme.)
Install script complained about not being able to "log" the install which is expected as TWRP 3.0 wasn't supposed to support 7.1 logging feature on install.
Code:
E:unknown command [log]
Micro gapps was too big, so I used nano instead.
First boot attempt never went to home; a force reboot made it work.
First full boot was awfully laggy and many apps forced close after the mini setup-wizard (as I didn't wiped data, the wizard only asked for language and wifi), I let it set a few minutes and then reboot it.
Now the UI is really fluid and works perfectly
Some tiles in the quick access menu are missing (you can't add them I mean, or I didn't see them)
I will update in next posts if I encounter interesting things in the next few days.

We really appreciate the work you do (in your free time) for our beloved Moto G. I know you guys worked really hard for this to happen, I've been checking the CyanogenMod Gerrit for a while now.
P.S.: I was in no way trying to dissuade anyone from using the dirty update or clean update methods. In my experience, a clean flash is always the most stable in the long run.
battery icon options circle and landscape mode doesnt work.

the reason why my sims were not gettting detected was i flashed supersu 2.78.

SuperSU over CyanogenMOD should have caused a bootlop, you were lucky.
running 20161109.
* Dual SIM works fine
*Music app is not opening. Showing me that the app is stopped (Is it just me?)
Long press Home button brings Google Assistant after configuring with Buttons settings. (I tweaked build.prop for bringing up Google Assistant)
Battery percentage is showing only on Icon Portrait. None of other icons are working.
It's been 7 hours since I flashed it. The SoT is not that bad.
May be I'll flash abyss kernel later to check if the battery life will be improved and the swipe is definitely working very well on abyss kernel.

Use this area to ask anything you want related to LineageOS,

General Questions & Answers
Is root access included into LineageOS ?
No longer included by default to improve user security.
An addon is shared to add SuperUser features : https://download.lineageos.org/extras.
It will survive to updates the same way GApps do.
Go into Settings, About Phone. Tap "Build number" 7 times.
Go back, open Developer options. Change "Root access" option.
Do not use SuperSU unless you are sure, creates booting issues.
Read more about it : Here.
Is the ROM suited for daily usage ?
Yes but work in progress.
Can I flash LineageOS on official and development builds, or even on CM without wipes ?
Migrations from unofficial to official, and from CM builds, are not possible.
Always remember to do backups before doing such changes.
Is the device encryption supported ?
State unknown. If you're coming from an older ROM
please read the details here : a07afb9660a86f702066003b8e81ab63789d1660
When USB connected to a computer, I can't access the storage ?
The phone is in charge-only mode by default on Nougat,
due to a stronger security logic regarding unauthorised data access.
Swipe down the notifications and change the USB mode.
I can't access the ROM's recovery with Volume-
You can either flash the boot.img from the newer Releases with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" or FlashTool,
or follow the instructions of the TWRP Recovery installation to update from TWRP.
Against advice, I upgraded without GApps and now it crashes. Any way without factory reset ?
Yes there is, but nothing assures you'll manage to do it fully & preserve all your data...
Once booted, keep saying Ok to all "Unfortunately, ... has stopped",
pull-down the notifications panel, press the Settings icon,
go in Apps, menu, Show System, scroll to Setup Wizard (green Android logo),
Permissions, and activate Contacts + Telephone.
Later, some Play Store apps may need reinstalling.
If not working, then I advise a clean factory-reset reinstallation...

It is Android with GO configuration. But there is low-ram patcher that adrian made to make ROM low-ram or disable low-ram(disable GO configuration).
I can't see my files of my micro SD card , any idea ? ?
Screenshots of the problem:
*EDIT* -- SOLUTION--
My micro sd-card was in exFAT file system. I backup the files on my computer. Put the card in my SP and format it under storage tab on Lineage settings. When it's done, the system ask you how you want to use the micro-sd card; I choose external storage option. Open the file manager "File", and you can see the files on the micro sd-card.
I put my micro sd-card on my computer and I noticed the card was formatted in FAT32. So, "File" manager can't show you the files on your micro sd when the filesystem is in exFAT.

Does this rom support ntfs file format for SD cards? On Lineage 14.1 my ntfs sd card works ok, but on Lineage 15.1 it says "can't load content at the moment" when opening the sd card from file manager.

Is there a chance we get HCE host card emulation support in lineageOS 15.1 builds? I want to use it for a nfc payment app.

Hello, neobuddy89.
I installed the rom this morning.
I encountered only a "bug" (??).
In developer'options, I choose as usual "File transfer" but it is then automatically set to "No data transfer".
Correction isn't urgent. I can use a USB key.
hi,
i flashed last build and touch issue persists on A13 build
But i still stay on
Nice! Thanks a lot!
Very nice ROM, but it has some issues...
- file transfer in developer option doesn't stay how I want (no data transfer)
- doesn't matter what I want to install, I'm out of space... I must uninstall some apps "to free up space"... but I have enough... more than 90GB. I cannot install any of my apps. In rest...looks fine.

I'm on 3.6.2_12-0. Other ROMs working fine, and i cant find any newest TWRP.

I faced similar issues on some TWRP builds and OrangeFox, storage, APK and Play Store related stuff. Since then I'm on 'TWRP-3.6.2-sweet-Nebrassy-13-09-22' and never faced such issue again. This one works perfect except for some Pulkit builds, where you need KewL version of TWRP.
Try twrp-3.7.0_12-0-sweet.img which can be downloaded here.
1) Recovery -> format -> reboot to Recovery (internal storage unreadable)
2) Recovery -> Install crDroidAndroid-13.0-20221108 (from sd card)
-> Install NikGapps-core-arm64-13-20220908-signed.zip
-> Reboot to System
3) Recovery -> Data decrypted
4) Backup/Restore of data in recovery seem to work too.
I find the rom nice, features rich and good/stable to use except mtp (file transfer) doesn't work. To access files in the internal storage, I have to boot to recovery.

Thank you for your explanation.
I followed the same way to install the rom this wednesday morning (see post 2 of this thread), using also the same twrp.
As workaround to the mtp tranfer problem (awaiting for a quick solution), I simply use a USB key instead of rebooting to twrp.
For having used crDroid 8 for a few months as daily driver, I'm now using crDroid 9 in the place in order to ensure continuity : same environment, same developer.

Thanks for this, but how can I acces the phone storage or sd card...? Nothing works! File transfer doesn't work, and that's a big problem!
I'm looking forward to flashing A13 once it's more stable. Also, it's the weekend and I don't want to spend the next few days looking at a recovery screen

Awaiting the correction of the problem "MTP File tranfer", simply act as follows :
connect your phone to your PC with the cable ;
reboot to twrp ;
on your PC, you will find your device and
;
you can then work as with MTP File transfer

Yes, I know that... but is frustrating to do this everytime when I need access to the phone storage. Thanks anyway!
Maybe the next build will be corrected.

I agree with you, but we have to be patient.
Don't forget that we have the chance having a developer who makes a great work.
It's a first release of crDroid 9.
Before installing this rom, I installed various A13 roms.
None of them had the problem of MTP file transfer but other disadvantages like "No advanced restart", ...
After flashing Magisk in TWRP, launching the Magisk app results in it saying "Downloading" and loading forever.
