New S owner, Advice on Wall charger and Model no - Huawei Mate S

Hi folks
New Mate S owner here, Im in UK and I have 32GB model CRR-L09, am I right in thinking Ive been sold the UK/ EU International version?
Also, it came with a Euro / 2 pin wall charger.. but it reads its a 5v / 2A charger... so, am I safe to use a Samsung 5V / 2A fast charger.. or should i buy a genuine one?
Thanks

After a few hours of hunting and the OTA not working... I finally found that I had one of the C432D001 devices on b106, which is from W.EU - Germany...
Thankfully with the latest b361 (EMUI 401 / 6.0)... Huawei have removed the custc branding.. and now it appears that all EU C432 stock roms can work on any EU device, and thankfully after installing B321, I now get OTAs, which updated to the latest b361 / EMUI 401... and it detected I was in the UK and picked up me O2 UK sim no problema
Im sharing this because this is my first Huawei device and people need to be aware of this "custc...D00x" branding and if its the wrong Rom... itll brick your device., but thanks to XDA threads I found what I needed., so it pays to read around. Cheers all
Anyway, heart attack over, ill jut get a Euro 2 pin to UK 3 pin adapter tomorrow
Anyway... SPRTED!

[Q] Unlock Vodafone p10

Hi All
Apologies as this have probably come up loads but i can't get the "reassurance" i need to do it.
Basically i am the proud owner of the p10 via vodfone uk ... i am looking at maybe unlocking the phone (I know this can be done) but the outcome i want is for it to essentially be stock or in other words as if i purchased an unlocked P10 on amazon for example.
The reason for this is i would like quicker access to updates in Europe rather than wait for the carrier to arrange them. The software from vodafone UK doesn't seem to be as smooth as when i see reviews based on unlocked phones ? some micro stuttering in the app draw and chrome seems to run badly. I know some phones shipped with slower onboard storage but mine was a shade under 800 mbs when i checked so all OK on that front.
So once i have unlocked the phone how do i then make the phone as if its a standard unlocked model ... suspect it would involve flashing a new ROM ? I am sticking with Vodafone for now so is an unlock code even needed? could i flash a stock rom other the vodafone software ?
Many thanks in advance

Note 9 SM-N960FD with UK Firmware?

Hi guys. I am looking to purchase the Note 9 from eglobalcentraluk. com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-n960fd-dual-sim-6gb-128gb-with-gerenic-0.3mm-3d-curved-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-midnight-black.html
This is an international version, and from what I can tell, it's the 5th one down on this list, techwalls. com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-sm-n960-model-number-differences/ the SM-N960FD Duos, for Asia, India, and Singapore.
I live in the UK, and am looking to flash this with UK firmware so I can use samsung pay, and to avoid other annoyances. Can someone tell me if this would work? When finding the firmware on sammobile, when it says type 'my model number,' will the SM-N960F work? It doesn't get anymore specific in terms of SM-N960F**** etc.
I use BT mobile which uses EE networks. Would it be best to flash the EE version?
Thanks for your help!
I paid £700 for a brand new condition (charged once) N960F on Ebay. For the tiny saving, I'd just get a proper UK phone.
Just get it, you don't need to flash anything, the N960f works in the UK no different to one bought from a UK retailer, there's already several threads about this. I've been using the N960f for over a week now, flashing any firmware to it isn't going to change anything, needlessly flashing anything on any device is only opening you up to more risks.
From what I gather, the N960F IS the UK version, if you look at all the variants there's no UK spwcific one at all, so I'm pretty certain the global variant is what is on sale in the UK, all other variants are USA and Asian.
Get it from Samsung UK, if ever you need warranty you wish you had. And you can get a good trade in. Pick up a cgwap note 3 and get £200 trade in value. Join the upgrade program get 24 months interest fee credit too

Note 9 N9600 in Canada PDAPLAZA

HI All, I am ordered the note 9 from PDAPLAZA the N9600, to be able to use dual sim. I live in Canada I will be using it with Telus and rogers. Looking at the forums here it sounds like there are some issues using this model with the networks in Canda.
Can someone please who bought this model in Canada comment if the phone work fine with the networks. Also any limitation like play store, pay app, or otheres.
Also, if someone bought it from PDAPLAZA can you comment if the phone comes with English or Chinese?
thanks for the help

There's a complete dedicated Canadian thread on here. Maybe you'll get better responses there.

I got the SM-N9600 from PDAPlaza. It works fine, but the one thing I'm looking into right now is how to change the country code easily to a Canadian one without completely flashing the phone (as the firmware available for that specific model doesn't have a Canadian option, so I'd have to go with SM-N960W firmware, and I'm not sure if flashing with that version of firmware on a model number that doesn't match will have any negative effects). It's not a big deal, except that Samsung Pay doesn't work and assumes I'm in China. The other option I've read is to just keep it as it is and use Google Pay instead.
If you come across anything on that topic, let me know.

Thank you for the info. If it just samsung pay is the limitation then it should be fine. Can I ask you when you got the phone, was it sealed? Also, was it in English when you first set it up? and did it have a US adapter.

I just got it in the mail on Wednesday (ordered it on Sunday, so pretty quick turn around over the long weekend). Everything was totally sealed and when you start it up you can select English right off the bat. I just got rid of the additional Chinese keyboard language settings and made it either English (US or Canada). The charger is an Asian one, but they send an adapter with it. Also, the cord is USB, so it can be used with any other plug-in. I'm not sure if that affects the fast charging, so I'll probably get an induction charger instead anyways. If you're switching over from a different brand, the Samsung Switch app is awesome. I just finished it and got everything, including my messages transferred from my iPhone.

I got the 128 GB model.
Hey there, thanks for the helpful info. Just womdering, have you noticed anything megative with network speeds? And I presume you got that model so you can root, correct? Have you had any luck? I saw the whole guide and everything, just curious if it was worked out for a canadian as well.
I received the 512GB from PDAplaza, it is great! for some reason, I found it much faster than the unlocked one 512Gb i bought from amazon US Version. Please note the device comes with Chinese first, you need to change the language, samsung pay and samsung members are stuck to hong kong.
I got the N9600 from Hong Kong and I am with Fido network right now. As soon as booted it up it was all in chinese but quickly changed to english, so no problems there. However, sadly it only runs on 4G network, no LTE

You sure it's not just showing 4G instead of 4G LTE?

Headphones included in the box?

Do you know if the S20 FE 5G will have usb-c headphones included in the box?
:good:
According to the listing on Amazon for the US model it does - whether you can rely on this or not remains to be seen: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Fact...lja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1
UK version does.
The T-Mobile version does NOT have them included.
That's a big nope for the unlocked US version. Perhaps the same website for the Note 20 / Ultra will work?
I tried it but it told me I could only make one request per phone number. Which is a bummer as I have a Note 20 and an S20 FE now.

I have a retail UK version and it does not come with headphones in the box.
Don't EU phones require headphones in box?
North American phones do not.
Side-question for this thread, assuming you get the one without any headphones, does it at least include the USB-C <=> 3.5mm audio adapter?

No, not on t-mobile version 5g version
Unlocked version from Samsung website did not include headphones. Included USB A to USB C charging cable, wall charger, sim tool, some paperwork and that's it.
Bought in Australia from Samsung store...the box just has charger (15W) and cable. ?

Question Are there simlocked versions of this phone?

Coming from OnePlus, where simlocks aren't really a thing (i think? At least not in Germany?) I am now thinking about getting an used oppo find x3 pro. Are there simlocked versions that I should be aware of when browsing listings?
You should ask the seller where he's got his phone from. If the phone is from Telekom or Vodefone (O2 aka Telefonica I don't know), you can assume that the phone has SIM lock! Ask the seller or vendor before buying.
