Xperia V soft bricked, please help! - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hi guys. I am in desperate need of your help.
I have a Sony Xperia V LT25i which used to have a CyanogenMod Rom 12.1 up and running and TWRP 2.8.
I decided to update TWRP from the Bootloader, hoping I could update it to later on to CyanogenMod 13.0, and stupidly picked it to update on boot instead of recovery and now my phone is bricked. it does nothing but load the "Sony" logo, then dim.
I tried fastboot from the computer, it does not detect my phone. I tried Sony Mobile Flasher, it does not detect my phone, i.e. I managed to flash most of the files from a factory rom except system.sin.
I can't get into recovery(Volume up + power button). I am able to get into fastboot and bootloader mode over the phone (blue and green lights), however, my computer does not detect it at all (I tried all the drivers I found on the internet, but not success).
Any suggestions? Please?

Which operating system are you running on your PC? Did you currently update it to windows 10, or a newer windows 10 version? If so you'll have to disable driver signature and install the drivers again.

I am running windows 10 with its latest updates, and had had it for a while. I did disable driver signature and reinstalled the drivers but that did not fix it.
I am currently able to identify my device in fastboot as
PSDN: CB5A1WUDZ0&ZLP fastboot
I tried to flash a recovery.img to it, but it says it fails with
(bootloader) Flash of partition 'recovery' requested
FAILED (remote: "Partition not found" ).
finished. total time: 0.693s

you are reading my thoughts. I just did that, and I have a bit of progress (I guess). I am in cyanogenmod recovery mode. however, I do not know how to proceed from here. I have the cyanogenmod 13.0 archive on my sdcard, however when I try to install it it says

Ok, your phone is recovered. I guess you're trying a CM13 nightly. It should work at the 2nd or 3rd time, though I'm not quite sure. Otherwise you could try to boot up to your Cm12.1 and install TWRP via a terminal emulator and the dd command. To me TWRP is way better than the CM recovery

It does not boot to my CM12.1. It simply freezes to "Sony" logo. however, if I hold volume up + power button it goes into recovery mode. should I keep on trying on installing 13.0? I tried about 4-5 times, still kicks the same error.

You could also try Cm14, it runs pretty good on my Xperia T. Unifying will wipe your internal storage though, so be aware. If you still got data on it you should try to flash CM12.1 again and safe your data

I was able to boot a TWRP from an unofficial CyanogenMod 12.1. I think I got it from here. I do not own an Xpire T, so my latest version of Cyanogen would be 13 ? (I Guess)

[Q] Looking for help. Cant boot phone, recovery nor use adb commands.

Hej guys. I really hope that you can help me with my problem
Have been trying for 2 days and looking at post but haven't been able to get it fixed.
Here goes.
I have been playing around with custom roms on my htc one for a while now.
Then when i was about to install a new custom rom, i first wiped my phone.
I properly wiped something that should not be wiped, because i ended up with no os and no custom rom zip file that i could install in twrp.
I then tryed sideloading revolutions, and it seemed to work because it ended up booting on the phone and i could select what programs too install with it... but halfway through it stoped and rebooted.
now i cant even get into recovery anymore, and booting the phone only gets it to htc briliant logo. Then it restarts and tryes going into recovery, but it cant, and ends up just restarting over and over again.
Tryed flashing cwm and twrp again, but still cant get into recovery.
adb dont fint my device, and i have tryed all drivers i could find.
Tryed using a RUU, but it fails. Properly because its not the right one, but cant fint one that fits.
Sooo... i think im in a real pickle right now.
my radio is :4a.14.3250.13
hboot: 1.44.0000
Thinking about going back with my phone, but with the warranty gone i dont know if they'll even look at it.
Hoping for some advise, or some ideas on what to do.

So I'll try here first. I am having the same issue, I can't get the device to boot into recovery, no matter if I clear the cache, or flash either one of twrp or CWM.
I unlocked the bootloader, I think used the all in one toolkit to flash the recovery. When that didn't work, I erased the cache and manually flashed the recovery, and it said it pushed successfully.
I am at a loss, I have no idea what to try next, any help would be appreciated.
******Finally got it, I had to disable Fast Boot in the Power options in Settings******
How do you copy update.zip from external to internal SD?
Sorry if it's a total no-brainer, but how do I manually copy a recovery zip to the internal update.zip? Can I do this from my phone (which is stuck in a bootloop: see below)? Or do I have to use ADB with my computer?

My situation:
Using Open Recovery I tried to install CM7 with custom kernel on my XT720
It gave an error: "assert failed: write_raw_image... Status 7" As I was looking that up, my phone blackscreened. After a while I pulled the battery.
Then on startup it went into a bootloop after a picture of a broken screen saying "2ndboot kernel restart in progress." (Presumably the kernel wasn't properly applied?)
Trying to boot into bootloader says battery is too low.
Phone will only turn on when plugged into outlet.
What I think I need to do:
- Copy a good update from my external SD over the bad update.zip on the internal SD, and apply the update to reset the kernel, etc.
- Open Recovery could do this, if I could load it.
- I could load Openrecovery if I could get the bootloader to run,
- I could get the bootloader to run if my battery would charge

[TWRP][EXPERIMENTAL] suzuran twrp 3.0

Hello people,
I was able to successfully build twrp 3.0 for suzuran (our device, duh!) and thought I'd share the recovery.img so you can test and see what works and what doesn't.
The recovery was built in a CM13 similar environment (PAC), so there might be some issues when working with stock kernel.
Since this is an experimental build (I tested main functionalities and they work, but didn't get down to the nitty-gritty), here's a small disclaimer:
By flashing or booting the attached recovery you're risking damaging you device, or losing the data on your device!
Neither I nor anyone else but YOU is responsible should any bad unintended problems appear!
If you're feeling adventurous then feel free to flash the recovery.img (along with Androplus kernel) and try the sweetness that is TWRP 3.0 :good:
Download link:

Known issues:
Temperature reading is botched
Crypto might not be working, like AT ALL
usb connection doesn't work (only if you use this recovery with Androplus kernel)
There could be more problems, which is why this is EXPERIMENTAL for now
And now let's get to the sources!
kernel:

And now to thank the people who helped in this endeavor:
TWRP team for the awesome recovery!
@nilezon for the TWRP flags (which I still need to go through to check if I missed/need anything, especially crypto flags...)
FXP team for device sources, Especially @adfad666
All of the Sony AOSP contributors, they're awesome people!

this is really weird, did the MM update also change something in the bootloader in an inconvenient way?
Could you try the other recovery.img from nilezon's thread? If that boots using "fastboot boot recovery.img" then we'll know the problem is somewhere in the .img itself
EDIT: oh, also could you please check if your download wasn't corrupt? Here's the md5 hash of the file so you can check

Z5C_TWRP_152_v2_nilezon doesn't work on MM.

Thanks! Guess the issue lies in the MM update somewhere.
You just said that nilezon's recovery works on 5.1, but did you try it after flashing 5.1, or are you basing that statement on previous tests?
The issue here might be that you didn't downgrade the bootloader when you flashed 5.1 again, which would mean the issue will persist.
Hello,
I tried booting(didn't flash) with MM and it seemed to boot into recovery fine. Used it to do a cache wipe, but afterwards phone is stuck on boot screen. I can turn it off with power + volume, but it doesn't seem like I can go back to fast boot.

nope, not your problem, it's everyone's
seems like my twrp version just refuses to boot sometimes.
Was able to successfully replicate the fastboot issue on 5.1 bootloader, so it's definitely this recovery.
Now the question is if it's a TWRP 3 issue, or just in the way I built it
EDIT: I guess this post answers my question
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65808636&postcount=137
another twrp 3 recovery is having the same issue
guess I'll have to make this recovery flashable in order for it to work properly
EDIT 2: wow, Androplus kernel seems to go well with TWRP 3. Updated first post with new instructions on how to use this.

You have TWRP installed? Use Method 2 of the unbrick guide. Now you want to wipe every partition then adb push your rom (not sideload) and manually flash it. Make sure you are on the latest Bluspark twrp.

Yes, it says flashing partition not allowed.
I suppose it is because usb debugging is off.

Nah, In windows, go to Device Manager. How does your device show up? It has to do with wrong drivers.

What is correctly? What does it say? You might want to try different ADB drivers. You should be able to always flash In fastboot..

Check again the bootloader to be unlocked. Use the tool for that, is it on OP3 forum, then retry to get a stock rom up before anything else (TWRP, custom rom, etc)
Sent from my OnePlus3 using XDA Labs
follow this instruction -
1- go into twrp and wipe everything even internal and formate it .
2- unistall all adb driver and oneplus driver also .. then clean tmp file from window
3rd- install latest adb+ oneplus 3 driver ..again restrat ..
4th-boot in fastboot mod and lock your bootloader
5th-flast latest build of oxygen stock recovery from fastboot
6th than again wipe or factory reset the device via stock recovery
7th open stock recoery than flash latest build of oxygen os via sideload
8th reboot the device and setup quikly
9th-unlock bootloader, flash bluespark recovery , flash rom, flash supersu ..
10th play with device

Need help with Me176c, fastboot.... 123# screen

My Asus memo pad 7 is stuck on fastboot.... 123# screen. I've tried temporary recovery and had success installation with lineage-14.1 but nothing changed. Please help. Thanks.
Did you have Lollipop installed before?
Also, do I understand it correctly that you're able to get into the temp recovery session?
Yes lollipop was installed and rooted long time ago, after the issue I decided to put it away. I did loads after that though, so I don't think lollipop is still there.
It was first at boot screen, got this fastboot... 123# after I flashed a fastboot image. Flashed loads of recoveries, systems and boot images before and after the fastboot issue.
Hope this helps you understand the state it's in. Thanks for replying.

If the tablet boots into the screen with the 3 fastboot lines you are in DNX mode, which means you've likely messed up your bootloader. To restore the bootloader, follow the steps outlined in https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73672837&postcount=5
If everything works, you should get to a second Fastboot screen with NORMAL BOOT etc. From there you can either start the temporary TWRP recovery session (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73673438&postcount=7) to flash the Lollipop package you've downloaded earlier (UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.36-user.zip) or flash LineageOS.
If you want to flash LineageOS you need to unlock your bootloader. Download https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312978532265362065, take the ESP.img from the ZIP and download https://github.com/me176c-dev/devic...recovery-3.1.1-20171119-UNOFFICIAL-me176c.img. Then run:
Code:
fastboot flash ESP ESP.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery-3.1.1-20171119-UNOFFICIAL-me176c.img
Power off your device, then press Volume Down + Power. Intel logo should show up, and ask if you want to go into recovery or fastboot. Go into recovery using Volume Down. Do a Factory reset again (it's under Wipe), then flash https://github.com/me176c-dev/devic...ge-14.1-20171119-UNOFFICIAL-me176c-signed.zip (e.g. put it on your external SD).
I will try these steps and update you. Thank you very much.
O yes! It worked. Tablet is now back in operation on lineageos. Going and get Gapps now. Thanks a lot lambdadroid
I believe my work on this tablet is not complete as I can't install Gapps. Installation failing every time. So I tried to reinstall lineage as this was installed before when I was trying all sorts to fix it.
Then when I followed the procedures you sent me, it booted into lineage after I unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp. So the system still had lineage from my fastboot installation attempts. What I can install now is the original version (ul k013 ww-12.10.1.36-user) and that works but I don't want this.
Any help on getting lineage to complete the installation? as it gets to the end with a little to go hut just never finishes (left this overnight)
Thanks.

No need to reply twice.
Please clarify: What exactly is failing? The LineageOS ZIP or the OpenGApps ZIP? Do you get an error during installation or does it never finish the boot after installation?
Things you can try: Check TWRP log for errors (usually marked red if you click the bottom right button in TWRP). Try a factory reset in TWRP.

Just thought you wouldn't be notified if I don't quote.
The gapps file is giving an error and failing, the lineageOS just stalls and never complete the installation.
I will try again now.....
patching system image unconditionally....
This is going on and on, about 10% left to complete but it never does. LineageOS installation.
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/0-System zips/
Asus Memo pad 7 K013/gapps 7.1.zip'
And that's what I'm getting from the gapps installation.
Installation failed.
Got the Gapps to install, had to choose x86 version. Still no improvement from lineage.

Maybe the file wasn't downloaded/copied properly. Enable ZIP file signature verification in the TWRP settings and flash the LineageOS package again. Does it print "Zip signature verified successfully"?

Stuck in Oneplus logo. Can't access recovery. Fastboot working.

Hi everyone.
I was trying to flash Nitrogen OS. First I flashed the latest firmware, then the actual rom and then GAPPS. After that my mobile got stuck in Oneplus logo without being able to go into recovery mode.
I tried using fastboot to flash the files in this thread(https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/unbrick-unbrick-tutorial-oneplus-3t-t3515306) which worked once, but even after that I can't surpass the logo screen.
I've been trying to look for information but I can't find anything.
To clarify:
- I already tried erasing userdata and cache from fastboot
-I already tried flashing recovery images from twrp, stock and bluspark
Thanks in advance guys.

Which TWRP are you using? Which firmware are you flashing? You can't access recovery at all? I've run into plenty of bricks like this and I'm usually able to get back to recovery by forcing the device off (vol up + power hold) and rebooting back to recovery. and if that doesn't work I can at least get to the bootloader and re-flash a recovery file.

I was using last bluspark recovery. I was flashing OB21 when everything happened.
There is no way I can access to recovery. I tried reflashing the stock recovery from that unbricking thread with all the other things through fastboot and I can't boot into recovery at all. It is the first time I face this error so I am lost.

okay, well what I would do is boot into the bootloader, and then reflash the blu_spark recovery via adb so you can boot into it. then wipe everything and restart. but this time I would try the OB 20 firmware and not the 21. when I was on NOS I used that one and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if it made a difference, but I flashed the firmware both right before and right after flashing NOS

yeah! try fastboot flash recovery "recovery file name".img
make sure that recovery img file is in the platform-tools file (or wherever your adb files are) and see if that works!

I mean idk if you wanna do this, but you could always try to "format userdata", then flash the stock recovery, and then sideload OOS. but you would lose all of your data in your internal storage, and it's still not a guarantee. there are some posts about doing a full wipe and starting from scratch. I'd look into those. Best of luck reviving your OP3T

just a tip, try posting the output instead of "it's not working",
so the devs here might be able to analyze the problem..

I already post a lot of information on the first post:
Mobile not passing the first time Oneplus logo appears.
Only fastboot is working, not adb, not recovery.
I already tried flashing other recoveries and the stock one->Can't pass Oneplus logo anyway
Tried formatting userdata through fastboot and flashing the .img files from my first post->Not working
Then just do the Qualcomm restore and unlock, boot to fastboot and flash the latest TWRP. Then boot into TWRP and format cache partitions, system and data and then adb sideload using this option under TWRP advanced to flash firmware zip, NitrogenOS zip and then 8.1 Gapps and try booting to see if same thing happens again. You are using the NitrogenOS stock kernel and not some other?

What do you mean by the Qualcomm restor and unlock? I already tried the flashing of latest TWRP and it did not work.
I was coming from Validus last beta but did a previous factory reset and that stuff.
Thank you for the answer

What he meant is probably unbrick tool - https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/unbrick-unbrick-tutorial-oneplus-3t-t3515306
Try flashing official firmware with it and then try again by flashing TWRP and flashing Nitrogen.

I can't install the drivers:
-First, stupid Windows policy saying that its driver is the best one available.
-Second, choosing from a disk to avoid one saying that the driver is not a x64 one.

None of that answer what he actually asked, which is: what was the output (error message, result, etc.) when you tried to flash TWRP?
Did it flash successfully, but still can't boot to TWRP? Or else, what was the exact error message?
In general, when asking for help and giving status, be specific as possible, and give as many details as possible. Saying you "tried xxx" or "it did not work" is not specific enough.
Seems silly, but I've seen a lot of times where it's as simple as the user not using the correct command or entering the right file name.

There were no errors when flashing TWRP. When I tried rebooting using fastboot(fastboot boot recovery.img) it got stuck in the message saying booting up... and the only thing that changed was that my phone left the bootloader screen to a screen with the Oneplus logo and a fastboot mode message under it.
The command I used was fastboot flash recovery recovery.img(Name of the actual recovery file)
