How to uninstall Remix OS Player - Remix OS Player

Hi !
I've just installed Remix OS Player but it's not exactly what i need.
I would like to uninstall but i don't know how to do.
I cant' do it from setup and i havent't found the file "UninstallRemixPlayer.exe"
Could you help me please ?
Thanks

where did u put the file? its not installed into ur windows. just delete the file and zip file

I am having the same issue. There is no UninstallRemixOS.exe to allow me to uninstall in the recommended way.
I have tried to delete the RemixOSPlayer folder but receive the error "This action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program".
I have ended the only RemixOS relate process I can see in Task Manager and have restarted my PC but the issue remains.
I currently need the 10GB of space on my SSD, so this is quite frustrating. Please help

did u manually install HAXM ? uninstall HAXM if its what is holding onto the file.

is adb.exe in your task manager? if so, close it out and try to delete the folder then

@sonicdeathmunky @alibaba33 You probably need to close adb.exe process before deleting Player.

Thank you! I stopped the ADB.exe process and was right away able to delete the folder <3

I installed the Remix OS Player on a separate partition but now I want to uninstall it and same with fellow members here, I can't find the "UninstallRemixOS.exe". As I noticed that after I installed the Remix OS Player, it created another folder on my C:\Windows.old which takes up a same storage as C:\Windows which is roughly 16GB. How do I uninstall this and remove the C:\Windows.old safely. The last time I tried to delete the C:\Windows.old it gave me denied access on many files and eventually crashed my notebook till I have to reformat it.

search for RemixOS in File Explorer and delete the file

I can delete the Remix OS Player as I installed on separate partition but I can't delete the C:\Windows.old. My problem is with the C:\Windows.old that Remix OS Player created when I install it.

@yltan
There is no way that Remix Player made a Windows.old folder on your device. This folder is made by Windows whenever you perform a bigger update of the system.
You can run system data cleanup (search it in control panel or in start menu) and most of it will be deleted safely.

Did your Windows 10 do its anniversary thing and update on you?
and u didn't install the player, it doesn't install, it runs on your pc but doesn't register into the system.

My mistake. Problem solved but thanks to all...

Deleting the folder with remix os player is not the solution.
After deleting the folder, I reinstalled remix os player and noticed that all the settings that I made to it about the theme, location and so on, were still there
so it still leaves behind some crap in the registry or somewhere else.
How can I completely remove this crap?

just delete ur folder, restart ur pc and open the application there will be question "do u want delete this application?" u've just click "yes"

Cube uninstall issue

I had installed all the components of Cube from the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343583
The cube worked fine for me except whenever I soft reset my phone the quick dial screen would be the first screen available and not that HTC home which was the defualt screen
When I unistall all the components and restart the Phone I get a screen with the X mark at the top right corner and busy icon. When I cancel the screen I get the default HTC home screen. Is there some component still left even after uninstall.
My WIndows/startup/ has
poutlook
btdwake
VCDaemon
QuickDial(tried deleting it manually but did not allow)
Regards
What was the error when you tried deleting the QuickDial file? Did you use your PPC File explorer or did you try it via Windows Explorer?

The Error I get when I tried to deleted QuickDial is that it Sharing voilation. The source or destination maybe in use.I am using the file explorer
You need to terminate the 'Quickdail' process. Do that by using this tool:
http://www.4shared.com/file/39875406/cd2a63e3/Alltheway_Task_Manager.html
As you can see, Task Manager by AllTheWay.
Terminate the process using this file and then move the file from the startup folder. Move it, because you want to keep it somewhere safe if other programs/functions start to fail as a result of your actions. Or simply reinstall the Cube if additional problems should occur. Choice is up to you.
After moving or deleting the file, soft reset and see if that problem got fixed.
Good luck!

Need help on .apk

hello, im really new on this thingy.
I have downloaded some free apps and its file extension is .apk
how will i install that in my G1 Android?
i downloaded the files using PC not my mobile.
You need to go "Settings>Applications>" and check the "Unknown Sources" box.
There are a few ways of getting them to install.
Most people will copy them to the SDcard by USB cable. (I have a /APKs folder). Then you need to use a file manager to select them (search ASTRO or Linda in market).
The other method I use is putting them in my "/htdocs/G1" folder on my local server, so I have a bookmark pointing to "192.168.0.2/G1" on my G1 and just visit that in the browser, you can then launch the installer from the downloads screen.
Edit: Oh and the other main way if you cannot do either of those, would involve downloading the SDK, setting up your path and drivers and issuing the install command from your PC.
What i do and i got this from youtube so i dont know if there are easier way
make sure phone is setup to install Unknown sourses you can do this in settings,Applications and have a tick next to unkown sourses
mount sd card...
copy .apk file to sd card
unmount card
goto market placed and install linda file manager..(i think astro file manager is as good but ive never used it)
Open Linda File Manager and press SD Card ...it should show a screen that should say complete action using google mail + Linda File Manger press linda File manager option
click on the apk you want to install.
it should show a screen with a option saying package installer click it
you should get a screen with a install button
press install
and that it..
AndExplorer v1.0BETA3 <-- can i use this? coz for now i dont have wifi in my place.
i got that from here http://slideme.org/application/andexplorer
but my problem is how will i install this?
get appsinstaller from the market.
It will search your sdcard and give you a list of .apk files just tap one to install it
so when i will install the installer the sd card must be unmount for it to be placed on phone.. tnx btw to those replies
is there any good apps that i can download? i want the nice ones but for free xD

Just put the .apks on your sd card either in a folder or on the root (it don't matter). Then download either appinstaller or linda. Check install from unkown sources like they said in previous post. Open up app installer or linda, find the apk then install. Its pretty cut and dry.
ok tnx, uhmm any good apps / games u can refer to me? xD
have you checked to see if the app that you downloaded is available on the market. AndExplorer, for instance is available in the market for free. This can be installed without any extra files or help. Perhaps you can check the market for other files to install on your thingy.

LOL!
it is usual virus. Your actual folders was just marked as HIDDEN! : ) )
you had to check "View hidden files and folders" in your explorer!
LOL again !
what's so funny? i know that my actual folder is hidden, when i "check" (show all files) option, the folder is shown, but i want to remove the virus completly..
i reintalled the rom, how can there still be a virus?? thank you
every time you connect you pda to pc you get a virus : )
i think all your removable flash devices infected, so you need great cleanse : )
or try to connect device only via active sync, may be virus can't use this way.
ooh, but how to REMOVE virus? i want my pc, and my pda virusfree
example : i connect pda to pc, and now pda and pc are infected, so i plug different flash drive, and now that flash drive is also infected, then i plug flash drive into laptop, so now, the virus is in my pc, pda and laptop
will kaspersky internet security (PC) help?
you have to send one of the "switched" *.exe to http://www.virustotal.com/
so you can get name of virus
next you have to google removal tool special for this virus
it is fastest way
i did that, and the result is
Kaspersky 7.0.0.125 2010.10.06 Worm.Win32.AutoIt.sx
my eset could not recognise it, but it was long ago since i update it, so i downloing kaspersky... hoppe it will help
i forgot, is virus on mem stick of xperia, or in phone memory? because i don't know how to scan phone memory? :S
i not sure virus can get to phone memory...
anyway antivirus too : )
http://www.kaspersky.com/mobile_downloads
never used an antivirus on WM before... but download this & see what it says about your phone memory / SD card
Best of luck

[SOLVED]Medscape App. Help needed!!

Im a medical student and I really would love to be able to use the newly available Android Medscape app (free from the market) on my phone.
Unfortunately, it says in description of the app that it may have problems with "rooted" phones. Im assuming it means our HD2's running android on NAND as well, because after installing the App on my phone, I am unable to update/download the Clinical reference data required for the app to work offline.
It gives the error "Internet connectivity was interrupted..Please try again"
Any help from the developers or anyone else would be very greatly appreciated

Looking at the description and the error you gave, have you tried disabling any ad-blocking software? It may be something cooked into the ROM - if so, try asking the dev how to disable it. DLing now - i'll post back what I find.
.............................
EDIT:
Ok, having found this question asked on the thread for the ROM I use, you can remove medscape from the adblock 'hosts' list. (find it in \system\etc).
Original Post URL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11521445&highlight=block#post11521445
I had to copy the file to PC before editing and copied back again using droidexplorer.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention the ROM im using. Its Core Droid DHD 1.5, and it seems you may be right. It says in the description of the ROM that the "Adds are Blocked (Host files modified)". Is there any way to reverse this host file change?
Fixed it with the help of the developer of the Core Droid ROM. Just opened the app "Add free" and hit "revert". Restored the original host file. Medscape works now.
im having the same issue and clicking the "revert" bottom on AdFree did not fix it
I have uninstalled AdFree and have the same problem all the time. Anybody fixed this?
i had the same problem!
After i revert the hosts file in ad-free, medscape did not update the reference!
So what i did:
I did not unistall ad-free, but:
- i revert the host file 3 times in a row;
- i stopped the access of AD Free from SuperUser (root access);
- and i restart medscape (i killed the process with automatic task killer) and start it again;
- and voila, my htc g1 is updating the reference while i text.
(i don't know what are the steps that make medscape update, but i guess, is the revert host file and restart the app, to it starts didn't knowing that can't access that host to update)
I hope this help you!
Good luck
It works for me, reverted host files, stopped Adfree acces to Superuser and voila!! Medscape is updating again. Thanx
how to correct medscape installation please?thx\
SOLVED!
Just got an OTA update for my flyer and software got updated to version 2.27.1540.32
The android version is 2.2.4 while sense is 1.0
Just for the record, AdFree only works on ROOTED devices. i mentioned in another thread on xda that adfree does not work for me. with this OTA update, my Medscape is finally installing as i type this - - -
Just kill the AdFree app and immediately run Medscape app,it'll definitely take the update.I did the same and it worked
i try looking for file in \system\etc
in use editor to open file host.. thera are a lot of files,
and it make me confuse, where the file "medscape from the adblock 'hosts' list" is ???

Hi everyone!
Well, I've experienced the same "connectivity error" as everyone with a root cellphone, after reinstalling medscape app at my cell. I never had AdFree, and even though I'm able to found the hosts file and take a look of it with my pc it says absolutely nothing about medscape (only 127.0.0.1 localhost and emptyness after), so I guess I must be getting the wrong file or not accesing to it correctly?
I've tried everything you said, but is still not working.
I'm pretty new with android, and I would really aprecciate you help, given the fact that this is one of my favorities app!

Incredible S file explorer

Hello
I'm waiting for my new Incredible S to arrive shortly and in the meantime I'm reading the user manual, I'm new to Android coming from Windows Mobile world.
Question: if I have backupped my applications to the memory card, in case of an hard reset, is there a way to reinstall them without passing through AppMarket? I have not found any File Explorer or Application Manager included in the ROM... are you obliged to connect to internet and download them?
Thanks
You can use Titanium Backup to back up and restore your apps.
They are not passed through the Android Market.
I do recall the app requires root, but that will be possible soon and is easy to do.

Hi there, I hope you will enjoy android!
There is indeed no file explorer installed on the Incredible S.
And yes, you will have to register your google account to access the market to download a file explorer (Astro File Manager for example)

Hi!
Thanks for your prompt answer! I suspected that after reading many threads on this matter. It seems a sort of limitation, I mean, having an SD card with your backup data and needs to connect to internet to download a file manager to install them..
But ok, this is the way it works
please use the ES File Manager .GO Android Market search "ES"
If you really wan't to avoid android market, you could usb adb (android debug bridge) to install titanium backup and then restore your apps. Or you could use adb to install certain apk's (apps are always .apk) you stored on your pc.
simple commands like
adb install C:\bla\bla\*.apk work like a charm
so if you download a filemanager, say "filemanager.apk".
you can give the command
adb install C:\bla\downloads\filemanager.apk
and it will install it on you phone after which you can acces all your files directly on your device.
You will need the SDK and some more info
If you want to use the adb, cd to \platform-tools\
But all this will be clear after a few hours of reading, trial and error
Welcome to Android.

Hello!
thanks for your info. I was actually playing with adb and see it is very powerful. But you need the pc connected to your phone of course and again it seems not a so comfortable solution. I find a little bit curious not having an application installer or file explorer embedded in the system.
About the backup, I know that Tytanium need root privileges, correct? As far as I know no root procedure are still available on Incredible S. But, will tytanium allow to select what you want to restore? Maybe root is not necessary is you want to restore your application and not system files
Thanks

Yes, with titanium backup it is possible to select only certain apps that you wan't to restore.
It is indeed strange that HTC doesn't ship their android devices with a file manager, I recall my Hero didn't have one too. My Galaxy S does, although it's extremely basic.
I think after a few weeks when the first custom roms come out they will probably have a file manager installed in them. Until then I would recommend Linda Filemanager or OI Filemanager from the market, they are both free and quite powerful.
Cheers,
DaanJordaan
Regarding Titanium Root requirements. It does allow you to select between applications to restore, but the root check at start-up means you can't even access the backup/restore screen if your device isn't rooted.
It would be interested to see if a temproot is sufficient to restore certain apps. Something for me to try when i get home
As for the file manager... i think it was a concious decision to keep the device consumer focused. HTC has changed much in the last 2 years and definitely closed a lot of doors/windows they had open to devs and geeky consumers.
