Watch Urbane 2nd Edition band and loops cracked (pics), where to buy OE replacement ? - LG Watch Urbane

Hello everyone,
I love(d) my Watch Urbane 2nd Editon smartwatch, but, after noticing that the band loops broke, now I just noticed that the actual band cracked and will break really soon (see attached pic).
I am looking for an original replacement band. Any ideas where to get one ?
PS: I bought the watch from an AT&T store in the US, but I am from an EU country and the watch doesn't officially sell in my country, for what I know of. So making a warranty claim would be pretty useless.
Thank you !

LG will honour the warranty. I purchased the W200e variant which is the EU model, not sold n the UK where I reside. LG UK checked for me and said parts are available to them the system and will be covered.
I'd try that first before ordering a new strap.

Over on Android Central in the LG Urbane 2 lte forum there are a couple individuals that order the leather replacement band from Amazon. They had great success with it, the embedded antennas work fine. Here is a link, it's not cheap $49 plus shipping.
https://www.amazon.com/Urbane-Genuine-Korean-Leather-repair/dp/B01JSG0QFK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1472522400&sr=8-5&keywords=lg+watch+urbane+2nd+edition&tag=androidcentral00-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5377321

My band broke and I went on the LG website filled out a repair request, received an RMA number and sent my watch in for repair. It was free but took over three weeks to get my watch back. They only replaced the one band that broke so I expect the other to break soon.. I been looking for a replacement band and only found the leather one listed on Amazon for $49. Still looking for a stock replacement band.

This looks amazing. Have been searching something like this. The stock one is pretty lame and the main reason why my watch is currently collecting dust. Thanks a lot for the link.
Update: Just noticed that it's rubber on the inside so it won't feel any more comfortable than the stock. Damn. That sucks. Hate the rubber on the skin. So stiff.

Rubber on this replacement is much more soft that original.

Buying the N7000 from Amazon

Hello, I am interested in getting the Galaxy note. I am on ATT service. I know the phone is coming here soon, but after examining it I would really like to get the international version with the guaranteed ICS upgrade, and the Exynos chip.
I was wondering if it is safe to buy it from Amazon?
I cant post a link here, but it is called
Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 16gb Unlocked Android Smartphone in White
And it is sold by FGS Trading and Fulfilled by Amazon.
I read a couple of threads here that said to watch out for certain sellers of the phone, and I dont want to buy one that will not be able to get the updates.
Is that one safe to buy?
Bought mine off Amazon, came from Germany (DBT code) in December. Has worked perfectly on at&t. Just input the APN (found on here) and you should be good to go. Now that at&t is releasing it, if you buy one off Amazon, it should say that it has a home button, unlocked and not branded by a carrier.
Is yours from FGS Trading?
I just found another one in white from WorldWide Distributors.
Maybe they are a better company to deal with, I'm not sure. Ive never bought a phone from Amazon before
I purchased from amazon. Mine was sold by and fullfilled by amazon.com (as opposed to sold by someone else) and supposedly has a US Warranty. Personally, I think this is a safer bet than one of those sold by a 3rd party through amazon for a few reasons:
1. amazon prime overnight shipping for only 3.99 USD
2. if there are problems, its easy to talk to amazon directly to resolve them.
3. if the "US Warranty" isn't exactly true, I can just return the device directly to amazon without any hassles or run arounds.
4. I had an issue with the first Note amazon sent me. I called them up and they shipped, overnight, a replacement Note. They did this at their own expense BEFORE I sent back the defective one without any additional credit card charges. They also sent me a pre-paid UPS shipping label to send back the defective one. (Which reminds me, I need to send the first one back to amazon...)
Take care
Gary
I just got mine two days ago from Amazon. Went with the white one from Global Mobiles and definitely do not regret it. Phone came in perfect and about 18 hours after I ordered it (have to love that prime shipping). As said earlier, put in the apn found here for Internet and also one for mms's and you should be fine - that's what worked for me.
Additionally, in ordering it from Amazon and getting the unlocked one, you don't have to deal with AT&T's slow update track record, but you will have enough access to their LTE of you're in one of the markets where it is available as well as local insurance. It's a trade off, as they are different devices on the inside. I believe even it's a sticky here, check it out.
Either way, I don't think you'll go wrong this device.

Yeah I understand that they are different devices, thats why I would like to purchase the unlocked one. I live in an LTE area, but I really want the Exynos chip that is in the international version. Everywhere I go I have wifi, so LTE isnt a big concern for me. And I understand that LTE eats lots of battery. Maybe in two years when LTE is better, and the chipsets for it are not as demanding, I will upgrade.
Since I want to get the white version, amazon itself doesnt sell it. I have to go through 3rd party sellers.
Anybody ever dealt with Goodios?
I think I will order it today, and I can get it on tuesday.
If you are east coast USA I can recommend AT GSM in New York. Quick process and shipment.
I got mine from Amazon-Global Mobiles. Since it is fulfilled by Amazon, you get the Amazon return policy etc. You can certainly feel safe buying from Amazon.

Since the ATT version is so close, don't you want to wait to see the reviews before buying one?
Got mine from amazon too. Global mobiles. There is no US warranty on any of the imports.
I'm considering selling. PM me if interested. Its mint.

Also got from Global Mobile - Amazon. Fell in love with this phone. You'll want to root it after you get it.

This is a question, as such belongs in the Q&A section

[Q] Where to buy brand new security sealed Note

Hey everyone, my 1st post here in xda. I found this forum while looking up info on n7000 and every other forum mentions this one and I can see why. I know it's not a good thing to start out here asking questions but I need some advice.
Does anyone know where I can buy a brand new unsealed n7000? I read in this forum that different people buy from different places and some of those sellers aren't even selling anymore. I just tried amazon off someone called MasterDeals, I know that there might be problems trying to buy this phone but I tried buying from them because it was "fulfilled by Amazon", I just got my phone today and what do you know, There was no phone inside... just a empty galaxy note box and I can tell it was never opened because there was no security seal to begin with, and there is no left over marks of their being a seal( the side is completely clean). So there's a heads up. "Don't buy from MasterDeals."
And since there has been some issue with the screen and other function, What's a good way for me to check every aspect of the phone to make sure it is 100% new and working? Thanks in advance
Also I'm planning on buying from "FGS Trading" off amazon, has anyone here bought from them?
why didn't you buy a sgn from a authorised samsung dealer?

replacement band

Hello all.
I got one of these when best buy dumped them, in the rose gold. Any way to replace the band? It would seem you can just put the clasp on a new band, but don't know if there is a source for bands.
thanks!
The "band" is an integrated housing for the speaker, microphone, and camera. The band is not user replaceable, but with anything in life, with enough ingenuity, anything is possible. I would certainly NOT encourage removing it just to change the color. Give it some time and it may grow on you, for the great price you paid. In a couple of months, you will start seeing skins coming out to cover the band with all kinds of colors and designs, like they have now for the case and clasp.
You could just return it and pick one up online from AT&T for 199.99 in the color of your choice. It's only 50 more dollars and cheaper and easier than replacing the band. I've seen replacement bands on ebay and they were over 100 bucks. AT&T you have to buy online but you can choose pick up in store option and get it immediately. I just got mine that way today.
Someone here posted bands links on eBay and I remember it was over $150 for the set. Not worth it.

Safe to buy a used LG G4 in reference to major bootloop issue on older models?

I was in the market to replace my parent’s old Galaxy Note 2. So I’ve been searching around for comparable phone that has slight upgrades. My Budget is around $300. Parents need a phone with removable battery and good GPS so I’m limited to the LG G3, G4 and Note 3 and 4. Also wants screen at 5.5 inches or larger. So was concerned to read about this widespread bootloop issue. After reading up on this issue it seems all old models/ will eventually be affected. I usually purchase phones second hand off of eBay or Swappa but in this case It seems I must be very careful as it seems many people are unloading these devices which will eventually fail. Some have sold their devices beforehand because of this and I’m sure as second hand buyers we will inherit/get the issue in time. Also not sure about how warranty works for second hand buyers. I’m with T-Mobile by the way. What do you guys think about buying a G4 right now? Safe bet or stay away? Also if you guys know any comparable devices that meet all the criteria or most let me know. Thanks
I'll throw my two cents in here. I bought an LG G2 about a year ago and loved the LG style of hardware, button placement, and great performance. I had the old upgrade itch rear its ugly head and so I decided the G4 was the phone for me. Generally it wouldn't bother me to buy mint used phones, but I decided in this case I should do some research. I found out about the bootloop issue and decided it wasn't worth the risk (for me). An awesome deal came up on eBay, brand new G4 in box for $348, snapped that up right away, got it yesterday and from my time with it so far I love it. Best phone I've ever owned. Sorry for the long preamble, here's my advice, if you can swing the extra $40 -$50 for a new boxed phone (assuming a deal like that pops up on eBay again) I would say go for it. The extra $50 in my mind is well worth the peace of mind knowing that it has a warranty. I will say that when I was looking at Swappa I saw a lot of like new T-Mobile refurbs for the G4, however I was still a bit hesitant on those because I couldn't find much info on T-Mobile's refurbishment process. You may be more comfortable with T-Mobile refurbs than I was though so something to consider. I hope you find something that will work well!
Thanks for the advice

Yeah the scary part is it seems people are just unloading the phones and you cant really know which ones will have issues later. If i buy new from ebay will i still be covered by T-Mobiles warranty ? I thought to get that you had to buy the phone direct from them ? I will keep looking around to see if any deals come up.

I don't think you'll be covered by T-Mobile's warranty, but you should be covered by LG's manufacturer warranty (I would think anyway) as long as it's new in box. Also a lot of the new supply is likely to be manufactured after the date when they had issues. The issue dates were from months 05-08 of 2015 (from what I've read in the forums). The phone I got from eBay was manufactured in 09 2015 so it should *fingers crossed* be just fine.

your right. Before i buy it ill have to ask the seller a lot of questions like when was it manufactured and whats the serial numbers and such. Will look into LG's warranty coverage for eBay. I think on eBay you can also buy squaretrade coverage as well.

Have had mine since about a week after release last year. Zero problems. Will have it for quite a while longer.
there is a new in box on swappa right now, but the seller says he opened the box to remove the sim. Do phones come with a sim already in place like that?

I'm not aware of any phone that comes with a sim pre-installed.
T-Mobile phones come with an unactivated sim on a punch out card. They are not "installed" in the phone. The Swappa seller is not including this sim in his listing.

Used prices are roughly 300 used so new would cost 500ish but there have been sales that brought the price down to 400ish. Keep waiting and it'll drop even more.

well right now the G4 (H811) is going for $400 (Full Price) and just recently there was a $75 off from $400 but ended already....just wait or if you have $100 more to spare just get it, but i just recommend to wait a bit to see a permanent price cut on the G4 or even the V10.

I ordered the Huawei watch 2 from Amazon.
Releasing on 3rd may.
I have been checking very website I can think of since 10th FEB when LG said it was coming to the UK 'in the coming weeks'. Become a bit of an obession really now and it's driving me mad!!. Considered ordering from he US but works out very expensive. Tempted just to go for the Huawei watch but don't like it as much as the LG. I've live chatted and called LG, LG newsroom, AT&T, LG press team UK, Best BUY US, Google wear team and still no solid answer. Come on LG release it in the UK!!!

Hehe you and me both!!
I'm still checking but I've pre ordered the Huawei. Being delivered on Wednesday.
If I don't like it and LG releases in 30 days then happy days.
They're also giving away free wireless headphones as well with the pre order.
Got mine!
I got sick of waiting, tried some American resellers who all say the watch is unavailable in America so it seems it's a worldwide issue.
I managed to find a supplier on eBay, shipping directly from Korea. Paypal charged me a stupid conversion rate but I thought it was still worth paying £400 plus £88 import duty. It arrived five days later and I have to say, it well worth waiting for!

It's very nice but I'm thinking the screen is a tad too small.
It would have been nice had the bezels rotated but well worth the money..

I've just brought back to the UK from the USA the AT&T version.
Great watch, works very well taking and making calls when linked via Bluetooth to my phone.
However, I've tried various nano SIM cards inside it, but with no success so far.
I don't think it is SIM locked, for it does not say so when you insert the SIM, but when you look at the SIM status, it says 'out of service' but does list the phone number/voicemail number/AP etc so again indicates that it is unlocked.
So far I've tried EE, Three, and giffgaff sims.
Looking at the frequency compatibility it should work on either 2G or 3G, but not LTE (I realise that), and you can select 3G instead of LTE on the watch menu.
It is not a deal breaker for me, but it would be 'nice' if I can use it independently with its own SIM, if required.
Did you get yours working?
Thanks,
Mike.
But wouldn't that mean that you can use it with 3G network?
I'm thinking you might need to get at the apn settings, no idea how that would be done as I couldn't figure out any way to access them.

I am coming to the conclusion that the watch is not compatible in the UK/Europe and that the info on various web sites such as frequency check, stating that the watch is compatible with UK/European 2G/3G frequencies are incorrect (900/2100) and the watch is unfortunately limited to the US 2G/3G frequencies 850/1900. I'll have another go, but I'm not hopeful.
On the positive side, it does work very well when tethered to my smartphone, both for making calls and receiving them, the speaker on the watch is very loud and clear. Today I had my Sony Xperia Ultra tooked away in my jacketed pocket, and took several calls on the watch outside in a rally field while walking around outside.
The general quality of the watch is superb, its a solid chunk of stainless steel, very futuristic and clean cut, and the watch face is large and clear, with I believe one of the biggest diameter and the highest resolution, higher than the new TAG Connected 45 even, and that still does not have a speaker or heart rate monitor!
The other alternative is the new Huawei watch 2 if you really want a 3G/LTE watch in the UK. However reports are that the build quality is not a patch on the LG, the screen is smaller and lower resolution, and no rotating watch crown like the LG which works great.
Battery drain is not all doom and gloom either on the LG, i'm easily managing a full day no problem.
So in conclusion, i'm still happy.

Nice to hear you're enjoying using it. Still waiting for a UK release, which could be a long way off yet. Tempted by the Huawei watch 2 on amazon just not as keen on it. ve the idea of the scrolling crown for navigation and really put off by the 1.2" screen. Trying to get any info on a UK release from any source is near on impossible. Keep us posted if you have any luck using the 3G or GSM frequencies.
What is the hold up? Not heard a word since the initial announcement! At this rate we won't even get the Style in the UK.
I was hoping to purchase as a gift in May. Not going to happen! Argh!

The watch was meant to be a gift to ME from my siblings for my birthday this coming week! Haha!
I hope the watch gets released in the UK soon, I don't want an imported one with questionable warranty coverage.
The Style has been available in Canada for over a week now so I hope that means we should get some movement soon.. although I hope it's not the Style only available here like in Canada. I want the Sport! [emoji4]

Hi I'm desperately trying to get hold of this watch. Have you had any luck using the GSM or 3G in the UK with the model you've got. If so which model do you have?

I got mine from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322475104669
Service was superb, it wouldnt let me use my mastercard for some reason, so I paid through paypal who charged a very high conversion rate, and there was £88 duty to pay.
I was just like you, Ive had my eye on this watch since November and I was desperate!
It is definitely worth waiting for!
