Does Le 2 pro have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band - LeEco Le 2 Questions & Answers

I have a Le 2 pro x620 and as per specifications, it should have 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz AC wifi but mine is not connecting to a Xiaomi WiFi Mini on the 5Ghz AC . I also have a Asus zenfone 2 ZE551ML and my Laptop connecting perfectly on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. I have searched for a setting to enable 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz but there is none. So does it support 5Ghz?

Sorry I thought you have sd652 one ie X526 but now I see that you have Helio X20 one. I think helio x20 version does not have dual band wifi

So today I managed to connect to 5Ghz and the issue is on the frequencies. Am in Kenya and I set my Xiaomi mini router to kenya which selects FCC specific frequencies which are not what mu Le2 pro uses. So how cash I change the regulatory domain for the phone?

[Q] Does anyone knows if it has 2.4 and 5ghz wifi?

As posted...it has the 2.4 only or the 2.4/5.0ghz wifi?
From samsungs note specifications site:
"Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct"
WLAN a-band is 5ghz area, so I think it has 2.4 and 5ghz.
thanks

hmm.. mine doesn't see the 5GHz radio on my Netgear WNDR3700.
Weird.
As a side note, i do think connecting to the 2.4GHz radio is a better idea as it has better range, and the Note won't be able to utilize the extra speed of the 5GHz channel anyway.
yes it works 5.0ghz also, with d-link routers.
its faster than on the 2.4 crowded band.
Mine connects to the 5 Ghz coming out of my WRT610N running dd-wrt
Works fine on my old Belkin G router (2.4Ghz) and the new Belkin N router (5.0Ghz). So yep.

The note has only antenna, so yes, it won't fully utilize it, but I get much faster speeds on the N router than the G oh and the speed drop off at the edges of reception is much less with N.
Hmm, well my 5ghz doesn't seem to be showing up. Anyone have any idea what troubleshooting steps I should take?

So just an update for people. I figured out the issue. 5ghz doesn't seem to be supported on 1xx channels, but works just fine on the lower frequency xx channels. I wonder, is this an European thing? Would there be a firmware tweak to enable the higher frequency (and higher output power) 1xx channels?
+1 on that. I would like to see it able to be used with the higher channels
I think it depends on whether the router utilizes the 20MHz or the 40MHz band. I bet the note can only see the 20MHz one.

OK ppl its the channel your router has set for 5ghz. European basebands only see 5ghz channels provisioned on Europe. Check Wikipedia, specifically here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels
Simple fix... change router 5ghz channel to match region of your baseband
Using a higher or lower channel means nothing. Its finding the channel that is least crowded and has the least amount of interference.
Worked!

I wasn't able to connect with my netgear wndr4500, but this fixed it! thanks!
Or you can always flash a firmware which supports your local 5 GHZ frequency in case you have other devices which use this frequency range. I noticed that Asian firmware supports NA 5 GHZ frequencies.
I have a Linksys E4200. I tried using WiFi analyzer and put it to scan for the exact frequencies available in the E4200 5Ghz configuration, the S2 is unable to detect any 5Ghz channels. I also tried selecting all channels, but it did not work.
EDIT: Just found an answer on another thread that worked, I manually set the channel to 36. The phone immediately detected the network. Its odd that in auto the phone cant detect it.

Settings to force or prefer Wi-Fi in 5 GHz band over 2.4 GHz band

I have Note 4 SM-910T, Android 5.1.1 Stock with systemless root.
The phone's Wi-Fi always connects to 2.4 GHz. I have a 5 GHz network with 802.11ac also available from the same router, with the same SSID, but it is effectively unused. Even if I am 2 m from the router, 2.4 GHz is selected.
I have searched for settings to force or prefer 5 GHz, and all the suggested settings are not present in Samsung Touchwiz. Is there any other way to force or prefer 5 GHz?
Can you manually add your network name, with "-5G" at the end?
When I can't find the band, sometimes that's worked for me.
My network is:
"M.Heidegger" - 2.4
&
"M.Heidegger-5G" - 5.0
Hope that helps.
If it doesn't, I'm sorry.

If you create a unique SSID for 5G band, the device will not seamlessly switch over to 2.4 GHz when you move out of range of the 5 GHz network. By setting the same SSID for both, devices are supposed to roam between the best bands and APs automatically without connection interruption.
Sorry to chime in so late on this thread but the feature you're probably looking for is called "Prefer 5G" and it's on the WAP side. At least my Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO has the option and it works fairly well as long as I turn down the 2.4Ghz radio. Speaking of, try turning your 2.4 down to entice 5Ghz adoption.

Low wifi speed

I have noticed that my Mi A2 does not show full speed on wifi.
I have a 100 Mbps connection, which when I connect via my laptop clocks at around 92+ Mbps, but on my A2 it only clocks about 50 Mbps.

Check which type of wifi your router can provide.
From Wikipedia : There are many different versions of Wi-Fi: 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n (Wi-Fi 4[40]), 802.11h, 802.11i, 802.11-2007, 802.11-2012, 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5[40]), 802.11ad, 802.11af, 802.11-2016, 802.11ah, 802.11ai, 802.11aj, 802.11aq, 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6[40]), 802.11ay.
One of the most popular wifi norm used over the years is the 802.11.g, which is capped at 54 Mbps. Could be an answer.

I'm getting way worse results on the 2.4 band. So use the 5 GHz if you can.

Either its using 40mhz channel bandwidth (144mbps per "antena") or it has dual antenas (2x 72mbps at 20mhz or 2x 144mbps aka 300mbps at 40mhz).
Mi A2 only has one for 2.4ghz (72mbps at 20mhz or 144 at 40mhz) and one for 5ghz (433mbps at 40mhz and 200ish mbps at 20mhz if im not mistaken)

40mhz is a bad ideia for 2.4GHz since to do it it overlaps channels wich most probably are already in use around you.
on my Mi A2 on 2.4ghz i always get around 50mbps (72 minus overhead) which seems just fine. The phone is fine.
on 5GHz i get my 200mbps.... your laptop probably has MIMO technologie
Ok thank you for the explanation, I'll just upgrade my router, and probably check if I still need the range extender, then maybe upgrade that too

All redmi phone only getting 50mbps on 802.11n on 2.4GHz
All redmi phone only getting 50mbps on 802.11n on 2.4GHz i have test. I have redmi note 7 pro latest and a Realme note 5 pro and a laptop, my wifi connection is 75mbps. When i test the speed then in Redmi note 7 pro is always getting 50mbps or below it cannot goes beyond 50mbps but in Realme 5 pro and in my laptop both are getting full speed around 72mbps..
Therefore you all have not any issue with your wifi router the problem is only in your Mi devices....
If you don't trust then check and compare the speed with any mobile and u will get to know the Mi devices is only limited to 50mbps.
I know that i have a alternative option , if i use 5Ghz router and my redmi note 7 pro also support 5GHz but my question is why Mi devices are failed to getting speed on 2.4GHz where all others brand are getting 802.11n speed.
I don't want to get alternative if anyone has the solution then post here otherwise we know the alternative so pls do provide alternative option.

You are not entirely correct. Maybe it is a Redmi throttle because on my Mi X6 my speed runs to around 100Mbps on 2.4Ghz and reaches around 350Mbps on my 5Ghz connection . My internet connection is a 1000Mbps connection but I only achieve that speed on my computer with gigabit ethernet and cat5 cabled connection. Never by WiFi .

Agreee. I have a Xiami MI A2 and I used to get +70 Mbps in 2.4 Ghz and +150 Mbps in 5 Ghz. A couple of days ago I had issues with my router and had to restart it and now I can´t get more than 30 Mbps in both 2.4 and 5 Ghz... but I also got the March security update in the phone so not sure what´s causing the issue. I´m quite sure it´s the phone because other devices perform fine in the network.
you can solve the WiFi speed by using custom kernel Agni for example. Try the different libs to see which work best . But so yes Xiaomi throttled WiFi in newer versions ..custom kernel like agni gives option in aroma to choose another modified or older lib . This will double your speed .

Hey sorry to bump a thread like this, but it seems it's not an issue many persist with as most internet connections are usually below 50Mbps so users don't notice the issue.
I've got a new Redmi Note 11, and along with an old Redmi Note 8 I have, both have limited WiFi speeds on both 2.4G and 5G networks at 48Mbps for some reason.
Your claim that Xiaomi throttled the WiFi in newer versions makes the most sense, so I have a question if you don't mind. Would just going for the latest Agni kernel do for me? I'll be trying to port TWRP to this new phone and see if I can flash the newest Agni, from there is there anything more to do? Will the WiFi speed be back to normal?

Tablet WiFi specs : WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band
The Tablet works well with 802.11 n 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
5 GHz is a frequency, it all depends on your area and the Interference Level. Everyone's router setting would be different.
Select 2.4 GHz for longer range, 5Ghz for shorter range but faster communication between router and tablet.
The most important of the two is that the selected channel interference level is acceptable.

All routers works differently.
It should be 802.11 Mode n
Band selection 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz
Bandwidth (20 Mhz for 2.4 GHz) (40 NHz for 5 GHz)

Question WiFi hotspot problem

I have Realme 8, on C09, when using it as WiFi hotspot I can set it only to 2.4GHz. Is it for everybody, or just me?
Redmi note 7,8,9 &10 supports 5ghz as well as some none note variants like the Redmi 9,9T and Redmi 10.
Newer Redmi devices are more likely to have 5ghz wifi support. But when you're in doubt just google the specific phone model and check the “comms" area. If it states that it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band then it supports both 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequency. But your phone does not show support for that wireless band on its specs list.
EDIT: just noticed you said Realme not Redmi lol, this spec here shows that your phone does have support for 5Ghz for sure. There must be a setting that your missing for that. I'm checking right now to see if theres any system settings that allow you to change that. Try resetting network settings.

I have a Realme 9 pro and GT here that I just checked with and I see the same thing here. It only says 2.4Ghz and in the updates, it shows a connections stability update which is probably where they just removed 5Ghz from the AP band choices. I can't understand why they would do that, but with data you really won't get speeds higher than what 2.4Ghz can handle. But going off of what I have here, it looks like most Realme phones have the same thing
