How do you get the free content bonus? I made an account like the insert says but there is nothing that says download?? Thanks.

You don't, Oculus is banning the Note 7

Where is Transformers stored

I downloaded the Transformers movie so that it would be available offline. I have used up a whole load of memory in doing so. I would now like to back it up so that I can delete it from my Nexus and restore it when I want to use it. I have had a look through the /sdcard and can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where it is stored so I can back it up?
Its in /sdcard/Andriod/data/com.google.android.videos - I believe.
I deleted it from there.

*snip* Nevermind.
I think you have to "clear data" on the Movies app. I'm not sure what happens if you do the above and delete the framework file - which is the encrypted DRM wrapper around the content, including Transformers and whatever else/cache it has downloaded...
You could just untick the save offline thing in the actual app to download it...
I unchecked the "save offline", available space did not change. Started checking folders to find it, then just rebooted, and the available space opened up.

I have been looking and looking for this option so I can back up a movie I downloaded. Sadly, I don't see it. Can you please enlighten me as to where to find this save for offline use box to check?

Well its originally stored on the cloud if you want it offline you have to click offline on the google play movie app and it will download to your SD card

I think you can also watch it via youtube instead of downloading to the nexus.
Sorry to hijack the thread, but does anyone buying the nexus 7 get this movie free regardless of place of purchase?
Wondering as people have reported getting the 25 dollar credit even when not buying from the play store!

Yes, I purchased the 16GB version from Staples Canada (still waiting for GP to even process my order from June 28th). Yes, as soon as I registered the device I received $25 GP credit and had access to the free movie.
Cheers
As was stated earlier, this is the location of the file after download. I confirmed this on mine:

Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668959
im downloading it just to see if looks better than it does when its being streamed because im not all that impressed by the streaming quality
It took me about 1.5 hours to download it.. It took forever, probably throttling on Google's cloud side..
It seems like if you click on the push pin it'll download it too.
One thing I wanna know... let's say you download the movie to your tablet and then delete it, can we re download it again? It stays on the cloud forever right ?

"Purchased movies and TV shows can be downloaded on five devices at a time. Movie rentals can only be downloaded to one device at a time, and when downloaded, streaming of the movie rental will be disabled on your computer and any other devices. Removing the download of the movie rental will re-enable it for streaming or for downloading onto additional devices."

Plex on Sale at Amazon 99Cents

For those who wanted to try Plex but didn't want to spend the $5 it costs for the Non-PlexPass app...
Amazon has it on sale for 99 Cents plus they will give you 30 Amazon coins...
I should point out however that Amazon is notoriously behind on the latest version of Apps compared to the Play Store and it's not uncommon for it to be two or three releases behind.
But if the cost was keeping you from checking out Plex (the Server itself is free) You might want to spend a $1 to check it out.
Bubble does a few things better than Plex does but Plex is still one of the best transcoding Media Servers available for Android...And the server works quite well with the Bubble media aggregation system.
Actually you can get it for free. There are 5 apps that gives you 200 coins each. So if you download these 5 apps you'll have 1000 coins (=$10). Then you can use 99 coins (=$0.99) to "buy" plex. Then you can buy Avia and other apps.

Me myself made the decision awhile ago to only install apps from the Play store for the reasons I cited regarding timely updates...
That and the fact that when using Amazon you have to login to the store every now and then to check license before yo can use it...
But for those who are cost conscious and stayed away from Plex I though I would let them know...
Free is even better provided you do not have to install the crapware needed to get the coins.

You get the coins on purchase, so you don't have to install the apps.
That's why I usually do these from computer so they stay on the cloud side.
You can also remove purchases from your account if there's something that you're sure you don't want.

Yeah I just decided to stay away from Amazon's store entirely....
You have to open it to update apps and manually select update...
Some apps won't open unless you open and log into the Amazon App to verify License...
Amazon Apps are usually two versions behind on Apps that get updated often...
Just a personal preference of mine and I sure don't mean to discourage anyone from using it because they do have a lot of value at a better price...
To me it's just worth the extra money to know I don't have to worry about updates and such, it all is done automatically whenever I'm in range of a WiFi.

Just search for any app name like searching for a physical product and it will show it.
But I don't get a "Buy" link, just a link to the Amazon App Store, which I can't run on my PC.

Ok, it works now. I don't know why it wasn't working before, logged in to the same account. Maybe because I hadn't yet bought any Android apps or registered an Android device on that account? Now I have two Android devices registered for some reason, but it's the same device registered twice.

You definitely need to have Amazon Appstore installed and logged in from at least one Android device.
I wouldn't worry too much about the duplicate device, it can happen if you change ROM or even upon reinstall sometimes. You can remove the duplicate in your Amazon settings under my digital devices.

LOL the Play store also used to think I had 4 different Phones which were really all the same phone with different roms installed on them!
And you are right you have to have the Amazon App installed and that will register the device to the account once you have logged in with it...

Gear VR

Anyone getting the Gear VR in early December? I see they released a time frame, 2 different options of goodies today. $199 for just the headset and $249 for headset, controller, unspecfied goodie.
Have you downloaded the mobile SDK and installed it on your phone yet? Have started developing games with unity yet?
I have every intention of getting this.
You can pre order on mobilefun for over a month now, but the price is higher then the one there saying. Don't even say if it includes the controller or the goodie.

Anyone know where and when you can buy the Gear VR - am I correct in assuming it doesn't require a data plan like a cellphone.
Samsung's site has a signup to get notified on release. This was the reason I got the Note 4. Not over any phone, but in general. Both my Nexus 5 and iPhone 5S were fine lol
It seems installing the SDK gets you to a "You need to update" screen that goes... nowhere.

Head over to oculus and watch the oculus connect video (kinda long winded) but they talk about a update will be pushed for all carriers, possible directly from Samsung. Also there's a separate sign-up page besides the notifies page. It let's you sign up saying you will buy the Oculus Gear VR Inovator Edition, since it's actually not consumer grade technology. This will be the first release, kinda like the DK2,even though samsung is posting it like it's consumer grade. Oculus says different though. Saying it's more for enthusiasts and developers until it's more perfected. Like having a postioning tracker and such.
OK here's the link to a different registration then the one directly on samsung website. This is after you go to oculus website and then click the link. It says in the bottom that is only available for people that order the note 4 between 11-1-14 and march of next year. Wtf. My AT&T version was bought before November 1st but my T-Mobile was bought after November 1st. Wonder if they mean for something else, even though they have a astrick next to the drop down and next to text at bottom like they go together.

I have an Oculus developer account. I'm saying the update isn't available yet so all the apps do is tell you you need the update.
BTW the dates are for the "Black Friday starts now" promotion. It's a little weird to think they restricted headset orders to only those with purchases two weeks after release. The asterisk is for "required field"

I figured. Well at least he knows. At the end of the day, though, his ROM is his ROM and he'll spend more time telling you why he won't do something than it would take to copy over the files into the next build,
I'll probably get one from Best Buy, and not return it only if I'm still in love with it after a few weeks. The novelty of Google Cardboard wore off pretty quickly for me.

Ordered mine yesterday should be here tomorrow. I start reading some mobile news sites today and it says that the VR is "only" working on the ATT note 4 as of now and you will have to wait for a carrier update on other providers for it to work with their Note 4's. WHAT KINDA CRAP IS THIS? I hate carriers and their branded roms. So now im going to have a paperweight till tmobile decides to send out an OTA update for it to work with my Note 4????

A short book could be written answering those questions. A better question would be what brought you to post in this thread?
As for useful? Not right now. It's an entertainment device. Is a gameboy useful? But it has a (limited) purpose. Only you can decide if it is something you want or not

The Gear VR is the best available mobile VR experience you can get at the moment, which you can actually call a proper VR experience which surpasses the Oculus Rift DK1 and rivals even the DK2 in some regards but those Rifts are wired and need a powerful PC to work properly.
As for describing a VR experience that you will have to probably experience for yourself.

VR can be used to watch 360° Photos, 360° Videos, 360° 3D Videos and Games. It can give you the impression of not only watching something from far away like on a TV but as if you were there. Depending on the quality of the content of course.

They are available in the US,you just have to find the games in Google Play Store, and play them past the tutorials to get the Samsung promotion. This worked for the 4 vulkan games in the list. Hit,Need for Speed, Olympus Rising,Vainglory. They dont come in a "pack" just download em and play them for a while. The games will award you an in game bonus saying something like "Samsung promotion".
All games on the list gave me the in game bonuses already by doing it that way.
I did a thread on this already. In US market they are in the Galaxy App Store (even though the ad said play store, they are not in there). They're in a banner at the bottom of featured. It's just a bunch of free In game currency.

Well, I was going to attach a picture of what I saw, but it's gone now. It only said "Galaxy Game Pack" and wasn't at the bottom of the list in the Staff Pick, and Need For Speed wasn't on it. Seems that promotion is over?
Most of the games in that particular pack were pretty lame. And no Vulkan ones, I've tried finding games that support Vulkan, but haven't had much luck.

What was the bonus for Need for Speed? I saw the bonuses in the other games, but didn't notice in NFS.
