Honor 4x Softbricked! - Honor 4x Questions & Answers

Hi I am new to the forums and I have a problem. I was installing twrp recovery on my Che2-12 and after I rebooted my phone I was stuck on the logo. So I booted into my phone again and I flashed cyanogenmod 13 directly through flashify and after I rebooted my device I am stuck on the honor logo again. There is not animation or anything and I can't even boot into recovery so solutions online don't work. HELLPPPP!! PLLSSS
I have the kirin model not snapdragon.

Press and hold power + vol down to boot into bootloader, also check whether on boot screen, is it written phone locked or unlocked. I am sure its unlocked as you were flashing stuff to your phone.
Download latest firmware for your phone. Use Huawei update extractor to extract system, boot, recovery and Cust images. Flash them to your phone using
Fastboot flash xxxxx xxxxx.img
Put UPDATE.APP (u will get it from firmware) in dload folder in SD card. Turn off your phone. Hold power + vol up + vol down until phone boots. Let go of the power but keep other two pressed for some more time.

Help - ran into trouble with my P7-L10

Hello,
After 1.5 years on B136 I've decided to move to a Lollipop rom. I've wiped my device, flashed stock recovery from B609 and wanted to force-update from sd card .... and device didn't boot into recovery at all.
So far the only recovery that works for me is TWRP, but I can't flash stock roms with it. When I flash (with fastboot) a stock recovery (doesn't matter which, I;ve tried B133Sp01, B136, B609, B852), my device goes into bootloop or just reboots while in the recovery.
I need to rescue my phone now.
Any ideas... ?
This is as far as I get:
Extracted cust / boot / recovery and system from B136 and flashed them with fastboot.
Device reboots, shows Huawei logo, plays animation and sound. After a while - it reboots and goes into recovery.
Recovery is in chinese.
Device stays in recovery for a few seconds then reboots itself.
And on and on....
Does anyone have any clue why this device keeps rebooting itself all the time?
Update:
Since TWRP was working for me, I've tried couple custom roms. Results:
TWRP + material one test rom: flashed fine, got boot screen, got boot animation.... device reboots. After second reboot goes into recovery.
TWRP + B609 test port: same as above.
What can it be that makes my device reboot over and over again, even when in recovery?
I'm out of ideas. Please help.
Thanks.
@GawDroid, try my method,
Download B852 official ROM and copy it to root of your SD card to a new folder "dload"
It should look like this "/dload/UPDATE.APP"
Extract UPDATE.APP (on your computer) using Huawei Update Extractor (all files)
Go into bootloader (Power + Vol Down)
Now open command line and use ADB (Android Debugging Bridge) to send following commands to your phone:
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.IMG
fastboot flash boot BOOT.IMG
Now force update by turning off your phone, and turing him back on while holding all 3 buttons pressed down.
When screen comes on release the Power button but keep holding both Volume rockers pressed down until you see an EMUI logo.
If for any reason it fails to install, go back into recovery and do Wipe data/Factory Reset, and than try again.
Let us know how it went
Okay, I did exactly this today:
Extracted boot and recovery from B852 update.app
Flashed both with fastboot
Put dload/update.app on sd card
Started phone in force update mode (vol +, vol -, power)
Phone shows "Huawei Ascend" logo for 30 seconds and shuts down.
I cannot enter recovery either. Phone does the same as above (huawei screen, shutdown).
I have never had an EMUI 3 rom installed before, maybe that's why this recovery can't start? Just guessing...
,
Flash the boot.img first and then the update

This is how I did it. First boot.img, then recovery.img, then tried to update.
Up. Any ideas why it keeps rebooting regardless of ROM, or even in recovery?

Can't enter TWRP, stuck at "Your device is booting now..."

Hello,
i unlocked my Bootloader and flashed twrp using adb,
but when i now try to enter twrp i get to the screen:
Your device has been unlocked and
can't be trusted.
To learn more,visit:

and there i get stuck because is does not boot ,
i waited for 10min but nothing happend.
I can still boot the phone normally by entering the fastboot mode and rebooting it from there, but i can't use twrp to install cm13 .
I tried this https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/trouble-entering-twrp-t3541212 but it did not work.
Just press volume down and power button to enter fast boot, then flash stock recovery, reboot , afterwards try unlock bootloader and try twrp recovery again, for ease use srk tool 2.0
I just solved the problem, somehow i was using the wrong TWRP version because my P9 is running nougat but thank you for the answer
And what version works with Nougat?

sadly you're not able to flash anything except some special supersu version, because of some reasons (the missing decryption support i guess?).

I unlocked bootloader, installed twrp using fastboot and then as you enter reboot command, you need to hold volume up and power button and hold down to avoid going to standard recovery. It took several attempts to do it (re-installing twrp every time), but worked on C432383 which is Nougat
Well it looks like you actually have to hold power + volume up when the phone is off and release all keys 0.5-1 seconds after the screen lights up with Huawei logo / text to boot into the custom recovery or else it will just boot Huawei eRecovery...

Infinite bootloop Huawei P10

Recently i'm just update the Huawei android version, but after restarted the phone, it's keep stuck on the manufacturer logo, unable boot into the main screen.

Send it to service
If you haven't unlocked the bootloader/installed TWRP/Rooted, then yes I'd agree with the above comment and send to service.
Otherwise follow the instructions here.... https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/help/tutorial-recovering-p10-p10-brick-t3600211

i can't access recovery mode, the phone keeps boot looping until the battery is drained, i tried to access recovery mode with the boutons combination to do a factory reset but i can't access it, it doesn't work, the phone stays stuck in the boot loop, i actually don't know how to install the firmware i didn't find it.
once the phone has some power it starts booting and rebooting until the battery is drained, when i plug it it starts booting and rebooting on it's own.

eRecovery is different from Recovery (I wrote above the phone to be connected to charger while booting with Vol+ kept pressing; in Recovery there is no option for Installing the latest - but the option is present in eRecovery), but anyway, you probably cannot boot to eRecovery either ;(
It could be also possible to reinstall firmware from HiSuite but you could not connect if you cannot boot
For flashing from Fastboot, you must have Bootloader and FRP unlocked (but to unlock, you must first boot to the system)- if I understood correctly, you didn't play with Bootloader, Fastboot, flashing, etc yet, hence your FRP and BL are locked
Uhm can anyone help me? pls. I unlocked my bootloader and flashed open kirin AEX P1 Beta and it caused me bootloop maybe because I fail to factory reset the second time or at least can I reflash the custom rom to make it work again but I can't access my p10 on fastboot

Huawei P10 Bricked (Can only use TWRP)

Hello friends,
So I've had the misfortune of bricking my P10 by installing TWRP then doing a huawei firmware update by accident. I presume because I have custom recovery it didnt go through and now I basically have a very expensive TWRP device lol
Phone doesnt boot into system, so it boots into TWRP.
Can't get it into any other mode for some reason (bootloader mode etc.), I really could only get it there from a power-off mode, but it wont stay powered off from TWRP, just reboots itself.
So now it's pretty much always stuck on TWRP. Can anyone help please?
VTR-AL00 model, was on the B141 firmware before update...
Thank you for reading

To reboot in bootloader try this :
-Unplugg the phone from the computer
-Power it off
-When powered off, push vol down button and plug the phone to the computer (while holding vol down button)
-It will normally go in bootloader mode.

Thank you,
I was trying to do it without plugging it in.
I managed to flash a recovery.img and a boot.img extracted from some (older) firmware from some Russian site and it booted like a charm.
Thank you

Magisk resulted in boot loop

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 SM-G973F. I unlocked the bootloader from the Download mode, then turned on the OEM unlock from the developer settings. I installed Magisk from github, created the patched firmware, then flashed all the files via Odin.
Now the S10 displays a warning that the bootloader has been unlocked, followed by the warning it's not running original samsung firmware, and an option to click the power button to continue.
The problem is, it does not boot into the OS. No matter which buttons I press, it does not boot. It stays on this screen for a while and reboots. I cannot initiate download or recovery mode. I cannot turn off the device. It's in a boot loop.
I used this firmware (I checked it's the correct one): https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G973F/BGL/G973FXXSBFUF3
And followed this tutorial: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=V_IeG06skk4
I am not using TWRP. Thank you for all help!

I install Magisk 23 on a Galaxy TAB S2 and had a boot loop. I reinstalled the boot.img and twrp then reinstalled LinageOS and uninstalled Magisk - Then it was fully recovered. I don't know if the boot.img was necessary.

Hi. I remember on stock A10 when I 1st rooted ,, I had to 'boot to magisk' by doing the button combo for recovery
Code:
bixby, power, volume up then let go of power after the splash screen
But with oneui 3x I think you'd have to use a reboot app. Or ask in this thread
Cheers.
