Working Root Method G890A??? - Galaxy S6 Active

I've been searching the S6 Active Forums to see if there's a working root method. I saw the "Comprehensive Root" Thread and those have got to be the worst instructions on obtaining root I have ever seen. Apart from that, the file provided didn't even flash. My question is... Is the a working root method for the Galaxy S6 Active on 5.0.2, OF4???
This is just a backup phone I have laying around and I'd rather not root my S7 so I figured I'd just tinker around with the S6A

Rooting the note 3

I've searched high and low for a root for my new galaxy note 3. I've seen somethings say the las vegas one or whatever but it couldn't be done on 4.4.2 kitkat. I've seen something about kingo. Which is the best method to root and unlock my boot loader so that i can flash roms.
Samsung galaxy note 3
Android version 4.4.2 kitkat
model- SM-n900a
Thank you in advance for your help! :good::laugh:
No rooting yet and there hasn't been unlocked bootloaders on the AT&T Note 3 yet.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
really???? bummer
A root method for 4.4.2 will be found eventually, so try to tough it out until its found. Not having root sucks, but it will hopefully come soon. An unlocked bootloader will most likely never happen unless someone holds the CEO of AT&T hostage (any volunteers?), so no custom kernels or AOSP for us unless someone gets Loki working.

I'm glad your that positive that a root method for 4.4.2 will be found, however (not to be a negative nelly) KK has some security features that Google has added, that would make it even harder to achieve root. That, with the added AT&T "updated" locked bootloader, would make it almost impossible to obtain root. Then, adding salt to the wound, the new S5 has just been released, so every DEV that's worth their salt would want to hop on the new tech bandwagon and tackle something new.
I personally don't care about root. I never rooted my Note 3 until the OTA update, which kept getting stuck at 27%. I followed the instructions to obtain root, installed the OTA update, but FORGOT TO UNROOT my phone!!! That stupid SU app is in the way, and I can't uninstall it! When it comes time for me to upgrade my Note3 to a Note4, anyone can simply look in my app draw and see SU app. Even ISIS wont work because it thinks my phone is rooted. I want to simply root my phone, delete that SU app, and un-root. It's that simple. If I can do this using ADB, i'll try it in a heartbeat.
awe that sucks..hopefully someone comes up with some thing soon. Thanks for your replies. When they do come up with a root method would we still be able to flash roms being that our bootloader is locked?

At this time there is no way to root KitKat, period, either with De La Vega, or Kingo. In addition, the bootloaders are totally locked down. There currently is a petition here, to see if we can get AT&T to unlock them

Search through the forum, there is a way to flash custom ROMS, just not in the typical way

It still doesn't hurt to look up. The S5 is locked down tight just like the Note 3 so I don't see why devs would dump the Note 3 just to work on another locked device. The Note 3 is still relatively new and pretty popular so I doubt it's going to be given up on just yet.

Have you looked into the modstrings at all? I'm not entirely sure how they work, but many other people have reported towelroot rooting their phones with the default settings.
What firmware are you on?

if im not mistaken it's 4.2.2 ( sorry bit of a noob still )
The baseband ends in MF7 - all the vids on youtube are different baseband so that makes it hard again to root. i had a quick look at the modstrings i'll give it a go now. i really don't wanna brick the phone. when i go to do software update it says device has been modified. :S

Thank you so much that method worked a charm. it was a bit confusing at the start and worrying for having to try so many different combinations but lucky for me the second combination i tried worked 1337 0 1 0 5 0 just incase anyone else might have the s4active that doesn't want to root on stock numbers maybe that'll work.

Any help rooting Samsung Tab E

I've spent the last couple of days looking for a way to root, but I've come up empty. Apparently not many people own this tablet, even though it's sold at Verizon?
The model number is SM-T567V
If anyone knows of a way to root it, or some alternative method that worked for them, nothing is too crazy at this point, lol.

No chance, it's a bootloader locked device.
Kingroot or kingOroot are your only hope.

Crapsicle; I've been able to get the root to work on kingo root, but then anytime my tablet needs restarting it goes into a bootloop. Any insight in regards to a possible fix?
If not I'll probably return it in exchange for an iPad.

Now you have root, try and reroot with kingroot then remove kingo.
Samsung has Kernels which restrict rooting, but Kingroot has good success at circumventing this.
gained root but still loops
used the kingoroot way mentioned then ran kingroot gained root 100% working removed kingoroot everything seemed to go well tried to reboot and right back into the bootloop so can get root but can not reboot device

just got this tablet my self a few days ago and been trying to gain root since super annoying to say the least but something should pop up soon for it cause its not a terrible tablet so if root can be gained already something just has to be tweaked to fix bootloop i can deff see it being fixed also is any know dev wanna look into this i wouldnt mind throwing ya some money for fixing boot loop issue with rooting.
I got the same result, it seems unlikely that there will be a root mostly because apparently Verizon goes out of their way to prevent users from rooting. But I don't know much about the android rooting scene so don't take my word for it.
I actually just ended up exchanging mines for an iPad, there's currently a working Jailbreak.

If you hot reboot you won't lose root.
DONATE ME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BUY ME A BEER OR HIT THE THANKS BUTTON IF I HELPED YOU
It's not loosening root I'm concerned with as I got it to stick last night just the boot loop is the issue for some reason king root by it self will not give me permanent root so I have to use both programs

Newbie having trouble rooting my phone, Android 4.4.2

Hey everyone. I just got a Note 3 n900a after having been with Windows phone for about two years now, and I'm having some real trouble rooting it. I realize it's an older phone, so it seems most development has kind of slowed for the phone. But I'm hoping someone might have some advice here to help me get this thing rooted, so I can install a custom ROM on here. The stock one is bugging the hell out of me.
So here's what I've done. I tried rooting it with an Odin tool and Root de la Vega. When trying to actually run the tool, it detects the phone in download mode and everything, starts, then fails. Doesn't want to go any further. I can't remember the specific error it gave. So I tried the Towelroot method, which is supposedly the best way to do it. Towelroot runs and says it's successful. Root checker says otherwise. I even went ahead and factory reset the phone, kept absolutely everything at default, tried again, and it doesn't work.
I'm stumped. My model number is SAMSUNG-SM-N900A, my android version is 4.4.2, baseband is N900AUCUCNC2, build number is N900A-AAR-CONVERSA-SHOY.2015.08.24.1105, and security version is MDF v1.0 Release 2. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!
This might help with rooted LP on the n900a: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006
There is not much development for the n900a because the bootloader is locked which means the phone can't run TWRP or custom ROMs unless the ROM can be installed via safestrap and is based on a stock Samsung ROM.

I would recommend factory resetting your phone and then reflashing stock NC2 and try rooting with towelroot again. Don't mess with any settings after you flash. Go straight to towelroot

Also run an hash check on your downloaded firmware if possible to ensure it isn't corrupted. And make sure you are using a REAL Samsung cable to flash. People think it's B.S. but it isnt. I have HARD BRICKED PHONES using cheap gas station cords.
The firmware I used to root was N900AUCUCNC2_N900AATTCNC2_N900AUCUCNC2_HOME.tar.md5. It is 2,275,231 KB in size. Make sure yours matches

So...I guess it technically works. I flashed this linked file with modified version of Odin then ran root.bat. Samsung phone info app says i have root and i even get the prompt to deny or grant access to apps but have yet to actually get one of the apps requiring root to open. Flashfire has been sitting on loading for about 10 minutes now. One thing for sure is, it is SUPER laggy. I.don't recommend it. Not worth it in my opinion, ill probably go back to MM if i want root.

buggy bout the same as mm
I guess if someone required payment we can consider it lol
But please ......
Could someone consider providing a full system dump from AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge with N ?
I'm told that this should be able to be done without root using a root explorer app or with an abd pull command
We would greatly appreciate the files in order to get VoLTE and proper CSC for our SM-935F devices!
We do not have proper CSC
Thank you!!!!

Root without an unlocked bootloader ends with N. The wise saw this coming. I doubt anyone will "leak" the tools to unlock bootloader. I'm staying on MM with exposed and lucky patcher.

I just ran across this root method which appears not to use the engboot and apparently works on the AT&T SGS7 edge. I have yet to read the rest of the thread, but it has been mentioned in a couple Android sites.
