Xperia SP- Download size is too large when flashing system.sin - Device Repair

Hi,
so the problem is, that flashtool says that there is a error and that the system.sin file is too large, then it stops the flashing process.
It started to do so after I updated my ROM from 4.3 (.207) to 5.0.1 resurrection remix through recovery.
And now I entirely wiped the system from my phone through recovery too..
Please help, I really need that phone xD
Thanks in advance

Z3C stuck at Sony loading screen

Flashed a ROM and now I'm stuck at the Sony startup screen. It won't let me go into recovery mode.
I tried to flash stock using flashtools. Only I get this message:
07/030/2015 12:30:44 - ERROR - Processing of system.sin finished with errors.
07/030/2015 12:30:44 - INFO - Flashing finished.
When I start the phone it says software updated failed.
Edit: Fixed, had to use the sony pc companion.

Happened with me when I was trying to flash Android 5.0.1 update 2 (don't recall the exact version no.) using Flashtool. Faced same error and soft brick.
I just flashed 5.0.1 update 1 (again, don't recall version no.) firmware and it went smooth. Few months later when 5.1.1 was out, I updated to it straight from 5.0.1 update 1, skipping 5.0.1 update 2, using PC Companion.
I was never able to flash 5.0.1 update 2 smoothly, I guess some issue with FTF file.
Go to flashtool document and /framework, delete all files and try again
exactly the same problem when I flash a third-party 5.1.1 to official 5.1.1,"ERROR - Processing of system.sin finished with errors"
I've search for answers for two days without any result. I've tried at least 10+ different fit files on both PC and Mac, with the latest FLashTool.
When I try PCC, I was told there is no software available for my device.
It's found to be the problem of the ft file. When I tried the 23.0.1 xxx ftf ROM file, I got this problem solved. My Phone back to normal and update to official 5.1.1 through OTA. Hope this can help

Unfortunately, flashed wrong / corrupted FTF file. Phone rebooting after showing several errors in Italian language. Trying to repair with Xperia Companion.
In the process of flashing it has asked to use "Default SFC file" or somthing, I clicked "No". What is that file? can anyone explain me?

Problems with flashing / rooting

Hello,
english powered by google
I desperately my Xperia SP on Android is trying to switch 4.4. Unfortunately, most Totourials are useless, alone because very often missing files or they are just out of date.
After so many problems I managed to flash my Xperia. Unfortunately nothing had the desired effect due to the files.
Currently I have the following problem which I do not get resolved:
I have loaded with the Flash tool the Cyanogenmod bootfile via fastboot, earlier I had installed CWM course with USB debugging and deactivated Bootlock. ect.
Unfortunately, he did not start the CWM but the CyanogenMod and I did not have the possibility to install the ZIP file on the SD card. Instead, I've obviously just all deleted.
Currently I have no system, but only the CyanogenMod. A flash on Standart is suddenly no longer possible FAILED (remote: Download size too large). Even when I extracted the System.sin I had problems to start them in fastboot mode.
I had previously done with older files, unfortunately the installation was on the ZIP file in recovery mode error. Why I have updated the files and all programs.
Restoring the standard firmware previously ran flawlessly ...
So I really do not go on and am really desperate.
I very much hope that my one helps the more clueless than me.
Best regards,
Ben
So i assume you now have installed official sony firmware? If yes , and you have unlocked bootloader then all you have to do is install twrp recovery(TWRP recovery for Xperia SP), then download Custom rom(i.e Cyanogenmod-Cyanogenmod builds for Xperia SP), if you like also google apps(OpenGapps) and install trough recovery. It might seem difficult, i know i did not explain it very good but its late... If you have any question or you want me to write a tutorial how to install cyanogenmod step by step just tell me.
Edit: even if you cant access the system it will be easy to install cyanogenmod
Problem Solved:
Flashtool was the Problem. I used the newest Version. After a Downgrade to 9.8.16 it worked.
Thank You very much

[Q] How to go back to stock? - black rear camera problem and bootloop

Hi,
I experienced black rear camera bug on Official LOS16 (I have to admit that i had made backup and tested carbon and LOS17) Now i installed 17 to test if is it ROM problem but i think it is unfortunatelly hardware problem. I saw other threads and searched internet and decided to install stock branded marshmallow, lock bootloader (Yes, I had backup TA before UB) and send it to official Sony service because I should still have warranty.
But...
I don't know how to install stock ROM. I downloaded branded software from XperiFirm and stopped there. How to flash it and not brick device? Newflasher is for newer models. Flashtool needs .ftf file. I searched how to convert XperiFirm package to .ftf on other model but there is step where you have to decrypt some files (I couldn't find them in downloaded software package).
I thought about second option - format and wipe in twrp all internal partitions and use Xperia Companion Software Repair. Actually I don't know does it work properly with UB devices...
I decided to go to the unofficial Sony devices service if it'd be problem with sending it to official Sony service.
What do you suggest? Is it easy and cheap enough repair for unofficial service not to damage device? I have no tools in home neither any preferences or experiences to do that by myself. Should I skip installing stock and go straight to the unofficial service?
If you suggest relocking device please help me and write step by step, noob friendly instruction how to flash XperiFirm package by flashtool or post made that way tutorial.
If you can help me, thank you!
If you use Xperifirm within Flashtools, it should download and automatically repackage it to an FTF file.

Thank you so much! I think it'll help me solve the problem :good:
After long brake I decided to flash stock, after I got problems with lineage.
Flashtool downloaded and prepared necessary files and flashed successfully firmware. (as you said it should :good: )
Next when I reboot, got bootloop.
Tried Xperia companion, it said that my phone is unlocked and it won't proceed
So tired flash twrp from NeoArians lineageos17 thread using fastboot flash recovery
Nothing and reboot to stock with bootloop
Tried to boot in twrp using command fastboot boot
Black screen and force shutdown
Tried to flash another firmware branded for my country
Again bootloop
Maybe there is another ftf which I should flash, not that one from xperifirm?
Hmh I'm run out of ideas, please help me.
Summary What I have:
-Xperia Z3 Compact with not working camera and flashed stock firmware.
-Bootloop
-ta partition backup
-working flashtool, xperifirm and Xperia companion
-Adb and fastboot
If you know what I did wrong, please tell me. I'd be very grateful if someone help me

For every bootloop of sony device use Emma (flashtool from sony). It's cure for everything.
EDIT: it will of course delete everything from a device.
Yes! It helped for bootloop! Tank you, checked camera and now I know 100% it is hardware problem!
Thank you :highfive:
