Must say, it's waaaay better than the (3) Note 7's that just got sent back to T-Mobile... I say (3) because that's the number of phones I had through this whole fiasco that just ended. So I def had a chance to see the differences , if any.

Scrolling isn't choppy at all. 200 custom icons in Nova or a complex webpage like say the New York Times. Even with the animation speeds in Developer Options set to 0.5x it is still smooth and flies.
If I were to be very VERY critical....v20 like most Android mobiles (and most AMOLED/IPS screens be they mobile or desktop) has some motion ghosting to it. I'm being nit-picky there though.

Ebay
When using the ebay app, the phone seems to stutter when im scrolling up and down a page. Does anyone else have stutter/lag. Like if a scroll through a sellers page and browse cases is where i notice the stutter.

I have been having the same problem to with eBay to I think it's the app cuz everything else is still buttery smooth and most times its the app cuz when a new OS is out some apps have not been updated to new systems
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA-Developers mobile app

Was laggy but after removing facebook and messenger apps
It is very amooth and fast

Like a baby's bottom.

Just got a second-handed one on taobao. Can't complain with this.

Three Sprint V20s here. No issues with scrolling. Yeah maybe an app or two but I attribute that to the apps. Always in Comfort View so no ghosting or burn issues either

Amm scrolling and overall performance of my LG V20 US996 running Android 7 was very much bad,it kept lagging but Changing Thermal configurations from system has done the job for me, it's awesome now ? i Love it ??

And also ghosting or retention can simply be fixed using Kcal settings through custom kernel

For some reason scrolling long web pages causes lag. Scrolling smoothness in other places is fine, though.
Agreed
The scrolling smoothness is fine but very unresponsive. No HW overlay lag. The scrolled page does not track the finger. Tried in chrome, facebook, pinterest, instagram. It's not an issue on 5x only but all android v6.x I guess.
To reproduce: open facebook/instagram. Try to scroll up and down fast and you see the page is behind you about 1 mile . Or scroll fast down and touch the screen to stop. I've never catched the post I wanted to read - the page was scrolling even I tapped/holded the screen.
I can compare to IOS/Windows 10 (mobile) - no issue, excelent response. LG G3 v5.x better than v6.x but still can see the delay.
I will try on some boosted HW but do not expect any improvement...
I cured my scrolling lag by disabling Lastpass in the Accessibility extensions (you should disable all Accessibility extensions if possible). https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=81950
After that it's fine, with only the occasional pause.
Please star this issue if you're affected, as it's a shame to have to turn off Lastpass to have a usable browser.
Amazing phone

I would strongly recommend you to go with nexus 5x as I'm using it since 6 months and I'm loving it.
Less responsive touch when charging
I got a three pin charger with Nexus 5X. As my room has a two pin socket I use an adapter to plug the three pin charger. But I am seeing that when my phone is charging the touch seems less responsive. Scrolling stutters a bit, typing is most inconvenient. I am guessing that it's happening due to adapting three pin to two pin but the third pin of my charger is made of plastic not metal. Should be like this?
Ok during light usage, when your heavily multitasking though things can start to slow down and scrolling begins to stutter. I think it's when the cpu throttles that scrolling starts to suffer.
Extremely smooth, no comment here.
So much for 4GB RAM, I'll wait for the multitude of devices already out and coming out with 6gb. Perfectly happy with the 5x for now. Not spending a grand on a phone where most of the money went into hardware, camera, advertising. Imo

sometimes, it's not the device itself that has the problem, it's the app itself. official twitter app has scrolling lag whereas fenix twitter apps does not. it just comes down to optimization.

Darn, I hope it'll just get better once HTC starts patching and updating things more. If rumors are true that HTC will probably make a Nexus variant of the 10, you would say we'd see a lot of improvements on the side of the 10, unless they vastly revamp the hardware. post #600 hurrah
I'm actually experiencing some stuttering while scrolling on some apps. Google Plus, Facebook and phone settings are the most noticeable
I've noticed this problem too and it's more prominent in some apps than others. It also happens more frequently when the app is still loading content. Is this considered a malfunction of the phone or does it not happen to all HTC 10?
It happens to all Android phones...

Didn't notice it on my Nexus 5.
It depends on the app. Other than being app based, I experience nothing different than my SHIELD or iPad

I think it was something messed up after playing with several themes for a while. After a memory cleanup and a restart, everything's back to smooth again

I personally don't see any slow downs, compared to my old phone, nexus 6P, id say it's on par. Speed up animations to 0.5.
HTC sense since the m7 has always been snappy though. I'd have expected no less from the 10 and sense 8.
I suppose if you loaded it with tonnes of widgets and had a few things running it may slow but the 820 isn't a slouch and should cope with pretty much anything
mine is always buttery smooth unless I'm using it while its charging. I'm assuming thats a heat caused issue though.
I've never encountered any slowdowns.Sense 8 is as snappy as stock Android.
Buttery Smooth
Scrolling is always smooth. No matter how many apps are running in the background or how long the pages I am browsing are, it's just amazing. :good::good:
Check your SD card
Hi everyone, I had this problem and I was wondering why, suddenly I had a problem with the SD card (Sandisk 128 GB) which I never doubted its performance. So I reformat it on the phone, and the phone became 10 times more responsive, no glitches (unless extremely minor android glitches), and can report that the phone is really a beast. So I highly recommend if you have an SD card, especially old one, to reformat it and give it a try.
Smooth as a baby's bottom.
Never a lag with the 10
WOW, I have never got a lag on this device and it is no surprise.

Coming from a Lumia 950XL, this phone is so stuttery in web pages I'm beginning to regret my experience in Android. And that is with background apps closed too.☹
I chooses the P10 for my first Android after 9 years of iPhone. The reason was the lack of jailbreak possibility in future iOS versions and the high prices of the iPhones.
So, iOS runs extremely smooth and I never noticed any lags on max. 3 year old models.
In my opinion Huawei did a good job with Huawei.
Scrolling in Chrome works great, Stock launcher and Nova launcher are also very smooth.
Gallery scrolling is without any lags and other animations like multi tasking or open/close animations are buttery smooth as well.
I had a Samsung S7 for 3 weeks before I got my P10 and have to say, that Samsung sucks in this point and others. Nearly every animation is lagging and the whole software feels like the ram is full the whole time.
So initially when purchased it was very smooth, over time it definitely degraded as I installed over 50 apps, most unnecessary. I did a full factory reset, and now its smooth as it was. I think compared to the Galaxy S6 it is definitely smoother (play store especially).

The only app I have that exhibits strange scrolling behavior would be Firefox Developer. It scrolls smoothly, but doesn't register swipe intensity well. this only occurs in firefox, so i'm not faulting the phone, but i've sent a message to mozilla about it.
One handed scrolling
I have had intermittent scrolling issues on the pixel 2 when I hold it one handed and try to scroll with my thumb. I realized it's because the base of my thumb is brushing the opposite side of the screen and preventing it from scrolling freely or clicking on something I didn't intend too. I had to adjust the way I hold it.
Choppy on Play store somehow...
So far, my scrolling has been as smooth as butter on ice. The only app I have an issue with is UCCW. On my original Pixel, it's very smooth but on my new Pixel 2, it's incredibly choppy. Like, the app scrolls smother on my old original Nexus 7 tablet and that thing runs incredibly slow now, lol. But other than that, everything else seems to run smooth. Chrome, Home, Harmony, IFTTT, Stringify, Hue, Photos, Youtube, Amazon, Walmart, Arlo, my SMS app....everything is buttery smooth. Its just something about UCCW that makes it stutter really bad on my Pixel 2 but not the original. But I rarely have to open and use UCCW so it doesn't bother me.

I am a scrolling smoothness fanatic.
I even wrote a custom app to try and understand wtf was up with the note 7 scrolling: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/help/note-7-weird-scrolling-touchwiz-root-t3455650
Every since I switched from iPhone a couple of years ago, I could never get that same smooth feeling. I went through about 7 android devices looking for that.
Now that that's clear, here is my review :
This phone is a revelation. I do not know how such smoothness is even possible.
It is the smoothest phone I saw in my entire life. It's even taking the luxury of over performing the iPhone.
I love it
Agreed. This thing puts the Pixel 2 series to shame when it comes to butter smoothness, not to mention app loading.
Hi. Do you guys find the scrolling to be choppy when scrolling slowly? For me it is very choppy.

That's definitely how it is for some of us. Mine was worse than shown in the video but since the latest OOS update (4.7.4) it has improved considerably. Still seeing some stuttering going on here and there but for the most part it's cleared up.
Brand new 2 day old phone no root, bootloader locked and everything installed and setup from scratch.
My personal experience so far, other than the initial lag/stutter, has be mostly positive and I'm loving my new phone.
Can't wait to root and unlock the bootloader to open this puppy up and see what she can REALLY do.
I figured out what it was. It was an app that I downloaded to monitor usage and it was causing lag and scrolling. I did a factory reset and now everything is working smooth as butter
