[GUIDE] How to unbrick LG L Fino from Qualcomm 9008 & LGE AndroidNet mode! - LG L Fino Guides, News, & Discussion

Guide for unbricking LG L Fino from Qualcomm 9008 and LGE AndroidNet mode
I'm not responsible for any damage. You do this on your own risk
Short message from me: I searched ALL the web and found nothing needed files for unbricking L Fino so I discovered myself how to make rawprogram0.xml and finally IT WORKED!
Symtomps:
- While you connect phone to computer in device menager you have "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" (or similar), or probably QHSUSB BULK (or similar).
- You can't boot your device to download mode, recovery etc. Just black screen
Let's start unbricking!
Required things:
- Qualcomm mobile drivers
- QPTS
- Unbricking ROM (I made it)
- ROM for your country (if it don't exist you can download ROM for another country) - you must download it here: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=103 (choose your ROM, look at country and model D290N, D295 or D295F)
- USB - Micro USB cable
- LG Flash Tool

INSTRUCTIONS:
0. (Only if you have LGE AndroidNet mode and your phone is showing as a drive) Make a partition from empty space on that "drive". I recommend "EaseUS Partition Master" program. Then plug off phone from computer.
[Make sure that your LG L Fino is disconnected from PC]
1. First you have to disabe driver signature verification. To do that open CMD as administrator and enter these commands:
bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON
Click to collapse
After that restart your computer. You will have text "Test mode" on right bottom corner of desktop.
2. Unpack "LG Unbrick Tools.zip" to folder on your desktop and "DXXX UNBRICK.zip" to folder without spaces (thanks to user mountaser halak for sending me logs so I found out that QFIL doesn't correctly recognizes spaces) that is in root of the drive.
3. Install Qualcomm Driver from "LG Unbrick Tools" (You have to uninstall Qualcomm driver first - plug-in phone for this, right click on Qualcomm 9008 in device menager and uninstall) - choose your system architecture and click dpinst.exe (name will be with 32 or 64 at the end)
4. Install QPST from "LG Unbrick Tools"
5. After installing QPST open QFIL - it will be in start menu. If it won't - go to C:/Program Files (x86)/Qualcomm/QPST and open QFIL.
6. In QFIL select "Flat build". In programmer patch go to folder with "DXXX UNBRICK" files and select "prog_emmc_firehose_8x10.mbn", click on load XML and select files that will be showed. Or look at the attachment
7. NOW Plug-in USB cable to your computer.
8. Remove the battery from your LG and wait 3 seconds. Insert the battery again. Plug USB to your phone, wait about 3 seconds and click DOWNLOAD button on PC.
(notice that download in this case doesn't mean download something from internet. It mean "(down) load firmware from computer to phone")
9. Wait to complete process. (It will take about 10 minutes) If you get error try put D290N Unbrick files folder directly on disk (I prefer on another partition)
10. Disconnect LG from PC, remove and insert the battery. If phone is discharged, charge it with a normal charger to 4-5%.
11. NOW you can turn on LG L Fino to check if phone works.
After that LG L Fino will have many bugs and do factory reset in every reboot. To avoid this we will flash LG with Download Mode. I prefer charge phone to min. 20%
To enter download mode turn off device and plug-in USB cable to phone while holding Volume Up button.
After that, follow this tutorial (I prefer selecting CSE flash)
If Flash Tool doesn't work properly try on another PC or install clean Windows on another partition and run it on it.
After all done you can enable "Driver signature verification" again to delete "Test mode" text on desktop. Just open CMD as administrator and enter command:
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF
Click to collapse
Issues:
- IMEI is setting to 0 after every ROM flashing. It can be changed with this Xposed module: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoneinfo.changer
- Problems with boot into a custom ROM (maybe only me have this problem)
- 3G don't working (or only I have this problem)
- List of languages is strange
If you found other issues tell me about them
I hope I helped many people! This is the first real tutorial for unbricking L Fino from this mode! If you want donate contact me [email protected] !
PS: I have 13 years If you found any mistakes tell me about it. Sorry for them in the poll (I can't edit them)

I tried to do what the instructions say, but when I try to press the "download" button, it doesn't let me, because of no port selected. when i select a port (wich is the one my lg is connected) it let's me download but gives me "failed to switch to emergency download mode"

Also when i plug in my phone, it installs a "relink hs-usb qdloader 9008" driver, how do I prevent this?

I tried to preven the relink driver by disconnecting my computer from the internet, and reinstalling the qualcomm driver, and it worked. the program reconized it properly. but when i click download it hangs in the "use verbose mode: false" stage
can you make a detailed video?

Thanks. Gonna try this when I get home.

I really want to help you, but I don't know why you get this error... Do you have text "Switching to firehose" and under "Wait for 3 seconds"?

PS: I had only ONE chance to test this... Because when my L Fino did fix with this method I don't want to brick it and test again...

I looked to my record from unbricking and I too have "Use Verbose : False" but it continued downloading...
Try putting the D290N UNBRICK directly on disc (best on another partition if you have it)
EDIT: I think I know why you have this problem. I forgot about disabling integrity checks and driver test mode. I'm going to edit post!
EDIT 2: I added this very important point. Look at first point

How do you know it's still downloading? (btw does it require internet, because after I did what you told me to, I still get the "RELINK Qualcomm Driver thing")
---------- Post added at 00:56 ---------- Previous post was at 00:47 ----------
I think i managed to fix the RELINK thing. But even with internet connection it just hangs at this stage and the task manager shows no activity by the application

It switched to firehose, yes. But it stays on the "verbose" thing for a long time, and the status bar doesn't move or present the blue color that it should. And no, I didn't click the "download" button too fast. I waited 3 seconds or more between each step

Try completely uninstall QPST 2.7 and install it with "driver test mode" enabled (Do you have "test mode" in corner of your desktop?)

Unbricking Guide for any Moto X Gen 1 (wire trick)
Download, and unpack supplied zip to any disk, C: or D:, in root folder. Install driver by launching Qusb.drv.inst.msi, then open Windows' Device Manager, and see if you got "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" device (it is "QHSUSB_DLOAD" without driver installed) located in "COM & LPT ports" section.
If yes, you see it, go to software part below. If it's not there, a full disassemble of the phone is needed to get close to back side of motherboard (google for "iFixit Teardown Moto X Guide" for step-by-step instruction).
So, when you are inside, disconnect the battery first. No need to pull it out, it's glued. Now get to back side of motherboard, and very very gently gain access to the lower left corner of ARM+DRAM shield (see picture). I've done it with Stanley knife. Also you can use miniature nippers - but very carefuly! Once you get access to inner space of shield, use tiny wire to short special pin to the ground (see picture), then connect USB cable, and in the moment when you see "QHSUSB_DLOAD" device (or "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" if driver is installed) pop out in Windows' Device Manager, quickly remove the wire. The goal is to have "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" in "COM & LPT ports" section of Device Manager. If it is achieved, we are done with hardware, and move on to soft part.
Now software part. Go to unzipped C:\Python27 folder, launch bat-file, and wait until finish:
RUN_blank_bootloader_flash.bat
(if you got error like "No data read from USB..." etc, just skip to next step)
Next launch either
- .Boot_KK_4.4.2_B4.exe,
or .Boot_KK_4.4.4_B7.exe,
or .Boot_LP_5.0.2_BC.exe,
or .Boot_LP_5.1.0_BD.exe,
or .Boot_LP_5.1.0_BE.exe
- depends on Android version your phone has last time. If you don't know what you need, begin with first one.
Wait 10 seconds, then launch next bat-file, and wait until finish:
RUN_moto_x_bootloader_flash.bat
Phone should go into fastboot mode! If it doesn't, repeat previous step trying higher version. But don't try to flash BC, BD, and BE, if you didn't install Lollipop on this phone!
OK. Disconnect the USB cable, connect the battery, connect again USB cable (fastboot don't work, if don't see battery). Launch next bat-file:
RUN_gpt.bin_flash.bat
The phone will get in fastboot, ready to be flashed by appropriate firmware. If it is official RSD (SBF), delete from xml strings consisting gpt.bin and motoboot.img for safe flashing.

Can we write the full firmware through Qload 9008 mode ???
HI I have a question. I bricked my gf's phone while trying to unlock the bootloader and I am not able to turn the phone on. Only positive feedback is that when I plug it in to the computer, I can hear a notification on my computer. I followed your guide. I can see the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" device (it is "QHSUSB_DLOAD" without driver installed) located in "COM & LPT ports" section.
Then I followed your software instructions. When I run the RUN_blank_bootloader_flash.bat, I get the following
Code:
Starting qflash!
Executing command qflash.exe -com3 -ramload MPRG8960.hex -mbn 33 MSM8960_bootloa
der_singleimage.bin -v -o
Motorola qflash Utility version 1.3
qflash - com3 is an invalid port
Invalid COM port enteredBlank flashing successful
Device will now enumerate in fastboot mode
Then, I followed the rest of the instructions by trying each .Boot .exe and waitng 10 seconds and finally with RUN_moto_x_bootloader_flash
but I am getting the following error.
Code:
C:\Users\cxx\Desktop\Python27>python qdload.py MPRG8960.bin -ptf _boot\partiti

Device Shows As USB Input
Hey all,
I'm having trouble getting my Windows 7 machine to recognize my XT862 as a QHSUSB device. Windows does recognize it, just as a "USB Input Device" -- very generic, I know -- so I don't think I have to do any motherboard hacks (and I sure hope not!). However, as it won't let me update the driver either, so I can't do anything. Also, when I plug it into my Mac, it does pop up as a Qualcomm Composite Device. Since something's obviously still ticking, where did I go wrong?
Thanks

Which Qualcomm interface driver for download mode?

Hi all!
I am trying to flash QFIL file to my Nokia 7 plus (TA-1046), but with no success because the Qualcomm driver is not installed automatically.
I have the 1.0 Qualcomm driver collection installed, but when I plugin my phone in download mode, I see it appear in device manager under "other devices" as "Android". I can update the driver to any other Qualcomm driver, but I don't know which one to choose. I tried the "QDLoader 9008" and it installs fine, but in QFIL.exe I can't flash my phone. I still get sahara errors.
What driver (type number) do I need to install to connect my phone's interface (download mode)?
EDIT:
Forgot to mention the obvious, it's Windows 7...

Thanks for your reply!
I did all you said (incl installing QPST tool), but still see "Android" under "Unknown devices". It is not recognized at all by Windows.
I want to install manually, but don't know which driver to choose from. I see a list of about 50 Qualcomm port drivers (MSM xxxx, QDLoader xxxx, Diagnostics xxxx), so which one is the correct one? What do you see under your "Ports (COM and LPT)" in device manager when you connect your phone in download mode?

Thanks for your replay!
I did all you said and I think the driver is now installed correctly. Only problem that remains is the locked bootloader, which is preventing flashing.
I have tried to disable it by "fastboot oem unlock", but no success, because access is denied. (I have enabled OEM unlock in dev options).
QFIL keeps reporting me "100 Unable to connect to port". Sahara is not an issue anymore (I guess).
Do I really need to unlock bootloader to flash the elf?
EDIT: I've read another article on XDA that states that Nokia devices cannot be flashed???

QFIL don't need unlocked bootloader as it uses EDL Mode for flashing. I suggest you to change the usb port and try with another data cable.

Try to update your QFIL.i think there is a new version available. update it and try again. may be it is giving an error due to the programmer file which is an elf file. earlier it is .mbn or .bin file. hope you understand.

how to fix hardbricked redmi note 7

*Mine doesn't have to testpoint ( my computer auto recognize it as HS-USB QDLoader 9008), if you don't then search google for testpoint)
First make it to identify as edl mode on your computer (HS-USB QDLoader 9008)
next open the image file of the rom(extract from tgz file )
replace it with this file :" prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf " ( search google for this file)
important: only" prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf " not prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_lite.elf
then flash it by miflash.
if you have error then read this:
( first my computer did identify but mi flash didn't, it just show error: " cannot receive hello packet " so i try to open the back of the phone, unplug the battery connector, next plug it back and now it work. Then just flash it )

MTK CLIENT
MTK BYPASS
OFP DECRYPTOR
NOT NEEDED ANYMORE !!
For Users who are already using Linux can easily install patched kernel and use this method whenever they want instead of booting into FIRE ISO every time.
Download pre-built patched kernels - Download Here
Pre-built kernels are only available for Arch & Arch based distros, Debian & Debian based Distros and Ubuntu & Ubuntu based distros.
If you are using other than the mentioned above then download kernel patch from HERE and manually patch and compile kernel . For info about about patching & compiling kernel from source refer to your distro's documentation.
NOTE : ALL COMMANDS SHOULD BE RUN AS ROOT USER TO AVOID FAILURE OF MTK BYPASS AND SPFT.
For ARCH and ARCH Based Distros :
Open the downloaded prebuilt kernel and head over to "Arch" folder and run this command-
Code:
pacman -U linux-lts-kamakiri-headers-5.10.17-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst linux-lts-kamakiri-docs-5.10.17-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst linux-lts-kamakiri-5.10.17-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
For Debian and Debian based Distros & Ubuntu and Ubuntu based Distros:
Open Debian /Ubuntu folder and run this command-
Code:
apt install -f ./linux-libc-dev_1_amd64.deb ./linux-headers-5.10.0-kamakiri_1_amd64.deb ./linux-image-5.10.0-kamakiri_1_amd64.deb
#You might need to change the file name acc to the actual file . file name might differ a little.
After you have successfully installed kernel use grub-customizer or simply reboot and boot into the installed kamakiri kernel, kernel name will end with "kamakiri"
Just to make sure you are into the newly installed kernel open terminal and run this command-
Code:
uname -r
The above command will show the currently booted kernel name which should end with "kamakiri". then you are good to go .
Now you can continue from Step 3 from the guide.
Extras for Debian and Ubuntu & its based Distros:Debian and Ubuntu hold packages a lot so you might not be able to install "libpng12" package and might get errors in python , to fix this i have added "libpng12" official .deb package and commands needed to fix python errors.
libpng12
Code:
apt install python3-distutils python-is-python3

Thank you for the tools and guide!
Confirmed working on MT6765 device (RMX2189 RealmeC12) using Linux Mint and the firmware provided in an XDA link on the Realme C12 Guides, News and Discussion page.
As a note to myself and others reading this, In Linux Mint, to enable the "universe" repository, I found instructions to enable it in command line from here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/78613/how-do-i-enable-the-universe-repository-from-the-command-line

Yes Ofc.
It is not detecting my device. I have been trying to do this but SP Flash tool doesn't launch. After I connect my device, the loading stops, no more activity in the terminal, but it still doesn't launch SPFlashTool. However if I disconnect my device, it does throw the error :
Preloader
Preloader - [LIB]: Status: Handshake failed, retrying...
After this I cancelled the command and ran ./bypass again. But this time It gave the error :
./bypass: line 62: ./mtk: No such file or directory
and directly started SPFlashTool, without even waiting for me to connect the device like that in the prompt shown in step 4.
