Need a gamepad kernel module (Dragonrise) for MXQ(s805 - Kitkat 4.4.2) - Off-topic

Hello, This is beyond me so.
I recently acquired an MXQ s805, (kitkat 4.4.2 32bit) TV Box. I want to run some emulators on it and use my USB SNES gamepad (Dragonrise) But cannot find a compatable hid-dr.ko. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried looking at guides to compile your own modules, but it is beyond my understanding of compiled software.
Other acquired information:
hardware ID: vid_0079&pid_0011
Windows Driver: HID Compliant Game Controller
VMWare Name: Dragonrise Gamepad
Ubuntu Device Registration: input,hidraw1: USB HID v1.10 Joystick

XBMC on WebTop

Now that we know that it is running custom version of ubuntu, anybody want try compiling and running xbmc on it ?
XBMC trunk already contains most of the patches for tegra 2 and more will applied soon according XBMC developer ( davilla ). We should be able to test it now ..
<davilla> ssh in, install build tools, git install xbmc trunk, build for tegra2 and see if it works
That would be AWESOME!! I myself was wondering about running XBMC on webtop.
I tried installing git, but apt-get threw a bunch of dependency errors. I tried "apt-get -f install" but it wanted to remove most of the installed packages because they were not needed.
Any updates ?
Instead of trying to install via git why not download the tar of it and extract it ...
Hey guys!
Any news about it?
I really would like to see XBMC on webtop´s atrix!
I found this for the bravehearts.
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-
TO_install_XBMC_for_Linux_on_Ubuntu,_a_Step-by-Step_Guide
NOTE: I have not tried it. You are in the DEV section, any mod attempts that YOU make to YOUR phone are YOUR own responsibility.
It is not listed here .... https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/armel?text=xbmc
So it probably has not been attempted.
I already did this steps but can´t work.
The XBMC is the most important thing to work for me on Atrix. I´ll wait for someone do that work,

I tried a couple of steps too, dependency hell. Not sure if it will be figured out in DEV section since it's more of an app thing.
I thought I saw a VM once that dev work could be done on. I'm on travel next week 10 hours of flight time plus sitting in Chicago for 3 hours both ways. Maybe I'll get motivated.
Oh man!
I hope you get motivated!
Really thanx!
You would need an x86 emulator or VM to run this I believe as it is only coded for x86. Running it through an emulator would be slow and unreliable or just plain broken most likely. Not to discourage anyone from trying.
XBMC Official Hardware Support List
Asking for a port of it would go in XBMC dev forums

Nope I've seen XBMC running on a beagleboard native, As well it ran very well. We have 2x the ram and 400mhz x2 more speed. So it should run.
I downloaded the XBMC through official site and one of the Readme file (README.armel) talks:
"
This is a port of XBMC for use on ARM Architecture.
As this is not an official version of XBMC, in-depth testing on various setups has not been done. USE WITH CAUTION!
For the purpose of this port, the following Hardware and Software was used.
Software: Scratchbox (cross-compiler) on a Linux (Ubuntu) machine.
Hardware: BeagleBoard (ARM Cortex-A8 with IMG POWERVR SGX).
The source code is based on XBMC for Linux - version 9.11 (Camelot)."
So, I think its possible to run on Atrix, correct? But I have to do a lot of hard things to try it and I´m not able to do it, but it´s a good news.
I think I'm getting lost here....
What is the intention for using XBMC within webtop? Streaming to or streaming from phone?
I've found these apps
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.plexapp.android
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.psa.android.media
http://code.google.com/p/android-xbmcremote/
Longterm features
Download media locally to device's SD card
Stream media to device
And here's the VM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992178
xPerfect virtual appliance - Android SDK r10 / NDK r5b - dev
dicksteele
I´ll try to explain (sorry, bad english)
I´ll conect my Atrix on dock HD and 2 hd extern (plugged on dock usb´s port).
So, trought the webtop, I open the XBMC and this show me the files (movies and tv series) on my HD´s.
XBMC has a nice e configurable interface.
I´ll look this apps!
Thanx!
Interesting......
I'd try it but going on travel tomorrow and I need my phone

Hi man.
I´d tried it (the armel version) but appears a lot of dependecies and I could´t try to install it.
Here is xbmc dev forum with it but for tegra 2 reference board though:

Is the Ubuntu running as a VM on Atrix4G ?

I don't believe it's running as a VM, it's running as a full instance.
From what I can read on the XBMC threads there are some problems.
But I found a guide for the BeagleBoard that might help people get going, dont think it will run out-of-the-box with this guide.

Error with running an app

Hi, I'm trying to run a program with android studio but I get this message;
emulator: ERROR: x86 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Please ensure KVM is properly installed and usable.
CPU acceleration status: KVM is not installed on this machine (/dev/kvm is missing).
I'm using linux if that makes a difference. Please! Any help is appreciated.

Dvb-t? USB Host

I have an micro usb DVBt dongle which runs fine on my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 Edition but not on my new z3c. I have a rooted stock rom 23.1.A.0.690. Did Sony forget to add the drivers??
Sent from my D5803 using XDA Free mobile app
No other explanation, I guess, besides no drivers. USB-OTG works, tested with keyboard & mouse.
yeah i know host mode is active but android does not know the device...
maybe the kernel modules could be compiled as modules ? loadable with modprobe / insmod? (v4l ,... )
does anyone has a arm crosstoolchain for testing?
Any ideas how to get this working? Got a Tivizen Pico and facing the same problem.

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Introducing Remix OS Player - Android Marshmallow emulator for PC

We’ve just released Remix OS Player, an Android Marshmallow emulator that lets you run Android games and apps directly on your Windows PC.
Download it here: www.jide.com/remixos-player, play with it and give us feedback here: http://bit.ly/2cxZhBs.
Check out the video intro here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLcCYmWTl-g
Remix OS Player is now the easiest way for you to experience Remix OS, especially if you still haven’t been able to get it working on your PC.
And, just like Remix OS for PC, it’s free.
Give us feedback and let’s build it together.
hopeful
i think it will be better than bluestacks and andy... tns jide team
Good to know you're getting into the android emu competition!
I've been testing several android emulators on my device, and I sue mostly MEMU as it is the fastest and most stable.
Still, having RemixOS as an emu on Windows 10 would be great. I made a few tests and here are my impression:
- not enough setting on the advanced tab before booting up. I'd like to assign more RAM and CPU cores, and most importantly, a higher resolution as my device has a 2160x1440 resolution.
- Performance is quite low, maybe it will be better if I can assign more resources.
- no full screen mode - this is essential for running it as a real emulator
- I can't find a way to share files and APKs from my windows partition as in other emulators
Looking forward for more updates
Can't boot. Stuck at loading screen. Not sure why. Or do I need to wait longer?
Surface Pro 3.
Edit: Never mind. I reinstalled and it works now.
This is what I get:
emulator: ERROR: x86_64 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Please ensure Intel HAXM is properly installed and usable.
CPU acceleration status: Unable to open HAXM device: ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
Please help!
This is great. I've had Remix OS as a dual boot option on my Windows 8.1 laptop. But wanted something that I can quickly switch between Android and Windows, rather than reboot each time. Recently found LeapDroid and it perfectly fits my bill so far. I'm glad Remix is jumping on the VM direction as well. I'll check the OS player.

Getting this error. Looks like VT-x needs to be turned on? I'll keep checking.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
emulator: ERROR: x86_64 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Please ensure Intel HAXM is properly installed and usable.
CPU acceleration status: VT feature disabled in BIOS/UEFI
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadly the emulator isn't working for me. Starts loading up and then just closes without an error
Cursor issues
I installed the new Remix.exe and it appears to load fine but the cursor force moves to the left leaving me unable to click anything. Anyone else having issues? I am on a Lenovo 460s touchscreen model. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still having the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to install Intel HAXM. I had the same issue and resolved it by installing Intel HAXM. It basically reserves a particular amount of RAM from your PC for running Android x86 sources. I have linked it in my guide here, have a look: http://techbeasts.com/download-remix-os-player-for-pc/
for the ones who does have virtualisation error ,you need to go to tools and instal intel haxm app.
it is a intel android emulator runtime provided with remix player.
now my feedback....
this need a full screen mode for the app.
it need to save settings for resolution/cores/ram.
it need ota updates.
It need stable and working play store.
It need smoother zoom and scroll.
The key mapper need to be in app instead of in rom.
it need open gl es 3.0 support.
need 4cores 4gb ram support.
and this absolutely need game controller support!
it need large hdd image support.(8 16 32 64 gb)
outside this everything is ok.

Can't be installed. Gives me error. Can't find driver or something. Saw in the comments on the download page many people have the same problem after Anniversary update... So messed up.
The guy that's saying to install it from the tools folder. What I need to install, there are many things.
