I have a Canadian X Performance on Rogers. Can I flash the Customized CE1 FTF on my device and receive updates directly from Sony in the future? I'd also like to get rid of some of the bloat that my carrier pre-installs.

That's awesome. Thanks! What's the difference between CE1 and GEL?

This is amazing news, but wasn't the Xperia XZ supposed to get the first Nougat update ?

I really don't know (both must work for you). Maybe modem, baseband and some apps!

What's new in the update ( by Sony )
change Font style , They add it or still ? ( in setting > display )

Sorry, one more question. Does it matter if I use a different customization ID (1302-7595 currently vs 1302-6536 for the GEL FTF)? Is that a software or hardware code?

No, it doesn't! I've used a different customization ID on mine to be able to receive the beta (ota)!

Tried flashing an FTF that I made using XperiFirm and FlashTool and it flashed in about 30 seconds, so I knew something definitely failed. I had to use the Xperia Companion tool to flash the old firmware back to my device I'm just going to wait for my carrier to release Nougat. Hopefully it won't be too long of a wait.

I saw this 2 pictures :

Where did you download the FTF from? I feel like I made that FTF incorrectly. I was also using the newest FlashTool (0.9.23) and I'm not sure if that was the problem either.

I already had it here! I think problem is FlashTool (not sure about that). Anyways, I've already reported the issue on its thread.

I'm in Canada but flashed the Russian version prior to the Nougat update, got the notification for updates shortly after I saw the original post on XDA.

[ROOT][SP] How-to for rooting newest firmware 12.0.A.2.245 / 254

[ info ]
So guys I have got root on the newest firmware 12.0.A.2.245 / 254!
Since Sony has patched our beloved perf_event exploit (with which we rooted 30+ Xperia devices) I had to find an alternate way... so I did the smart thing, just used the kernel on which the exploit works, root the device and flash back the newest kernel!
THIS WORKS ON BOTH LOCKED & UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS!
once again thanks to all the users who donated this device to me!

[ how-to ]
Download the three files from the download section below
open FlashTool and flash the XperiaSP_C530X_12.0.A.1.257_KernelOnly.ftf - 6.78 MB file, this is JUST the kernel of an older firmware which was rootable
now once flashing is done reboot device and connect to PC in usb debuggin mode
CLOSE FLASHTOOL <<< VVVIMP STEP
extract the file DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip to root directory on c:\
execute runme_ file corresponding to your OS on desktop PC, this will execute a SPECIAL version of my easy rooting toolkit <<< VVVIMP STEP
the above step is crucial! if you use any older version of the toolkit then IT WILL NOT WORK!
after rooting is over the device will restart
you can verify if device is rooted by checking for SuperSU app (it is the newest version)
once thats done now power down device and open FlashTool again
now flash XperiaSP_C530X_12.0.A.2.254_KernelOnly.ftf - 6.95 MB OR XperiaSP_C530X_12.0.A.2.245_KernelOnly.ftf - 6.95 MB (depending on your firmware) file to get back to the true kernel for the firmware
thats it after flashing is done just disconnect and power on device and enjoy rooted phone!

ofcouse it will work! i tested it 2-3 times on the device you guys donated to me
and when i have time these things generally move fast
P.S.: i have rooted numerous Xperia phones, right from Xperia X10 (GB-2.3.3) to Xperia Z (4.2.2), within a few hours of release... these are some of the benefits of having an experienced dev working on your device...

this is strange... either it shouldnt have rebooted or if it did reboot then it should have entered flashmode.. are flashmode drivers installed on PC on tested on?
BTW the device HAS TO BE CONNECTED to PC to enter flashmode!
Yes i have flash mode drivers installed on my PC and my Z1 is connected to my PC during the Processus.
If i change my usb cable, it's same but I've not testing to change usb port.

Have you install FLASHTOOL?
It can test your device success go to flashmode or not.
And you get flashmode is blank and nothing. That is normal.
You must test it in "flashtool".
Yes, i've Flashtool.
And in flashtool, when i want to install new ROM, my Z1 is not reconizing in Flash Mode.
Black Screen but nothing in flash tool.
If i put my phone in Flash mode Manually, it's work but with your app, not.

Hello everyone... Along leaking 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM for some Xperia devices, especially Xperia TX, T and V. and I've tried it yesterday (from EXR), and it feels amazing.
However there are some features that are less complete. So I tried to port some features from xperia Z1/Z1S, also from Xperia Z to complete it.

I don't know on your device, on my TX it's work...
I suspect to the updater-script in a flashable zip error occurred when signing or in the text.
but whatever it is, I will try to fix it soon, most late tomorrow night.
So.. warning to all users not to try it, at least after I updated to the next version. I'll close this thread for a while. Thank for all feedback..

anyway, sorry for this noob question, i've installed Rizal's cyber-shot Mod, but i still notice much noise in low light shooting, is it related to software or the hardware of the camera?

Z3 Tablet Compact FTF Collection

Hello everyone,
Here you can find all FTF files for the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact:
== SGP611 (Wifi 16GB) ==
- 23.0.1.A.0.167: Xperia Tablet Z3 compact - SGP611 - FTF files
== SGP612 (Wifi 32GB) ==
== SGP621 (LTE 16GB) ==
- 23.0.1.A.0.167: Xperia Tablet Z3 compact - SGP621 - FTF files
== How To add Z3 Tablet Compact to Flashtool ==
- Download Flashtool device folder: SGP6XX folder
- Open Flashtool first (It checks online for new devices and erases the SGP6XX folder every time)
- unzip the device folder so you have this structure: C:/Flashtool/Devices/SGP6XX
- Flashtool recognises the SGP6XX now
Because of the automatic online check, it deletes the device folder each time and you have to add it again each time.

Ok. The new version of Flashtool (0.9.18.4) allows you to switch off the manual sync of Devices, so that will help us moving forward until your change is merged.
== SGP621 (LTE 16GB) ==
- 23.0.1.A.0.167: Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet (SGP621) - Customized UK FTF
- 23.0.1.A.0.167: Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet (SGP621) - O2 Pay Monthly UK FTF
I've not yet flashed one of these, they're simply pulled from XperiFirm and bundled with FlashTool, so usual "Use at your own risk" disclaimer applies. :good:

What is the customised firmware is that a uk simfree 621 firmware or has it been customised in any way how.
It's the only other UK firmware currently available on XperiFirm, so should be just the stock SGP621 UK
