[NEED HELP] Updating CM13 to CM14.1 via OTA on Galaxy S5 - Samsung Galaxy S 5 Unified Development

Hello anyone. I need help because I don't want my phone end up in boot loop when I update CM 13 to CM 14.1 via OTA but some says I need to install 7.1 Gapps first before doing OTA while some says that I need to do the OTA update first THEN install 7.1 Gapps.
Any steps on how to do it properly?

Download the ota and manually boot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvik and install both cm14.1+7.1 gapps together and boot, best to wipe data to as can cause issues

[Q] Official Cyamogenmod 12.1 Bootlop

Hey everyone,
I found an Official update for my device from CyanogenMod Download Site.
I search any forum if available here about this ROM, unfortunately i cannot be able to find any form related to this ROM. Then i download 5.1 Gapps and download the ROM CyanogenMod 12.1. i wipe dalvik , userdata , cache and system. then flash both of the zip files ive downloaded. As i was using 12.0 Cyanogen i dont think i need to flash Cyanogen snapshot as it require for 12.0 to solve the BootLop. After flashing my phone is stuck on the booting animation since 20-25mins then i force reboot my phone into Recovery then i flash the SNAPSHOT and then reboot for once it works fine for me, then i just flash 12.1 and L gapps on the phone and then reboot, unforunately im facing the same problem from last hour. I dont know how to make 12.2 Cyan to work on my phone wihtout bootlop.
If anyone knows how to remove the bootlop then please let me know, thanks

Hmmm...I was on CM12 and wiped everything (cache, dalvik cache, system, data) so I clean flashed CM12.1 and GApps 5.1, after 2-3 mins it booted ok. So I guess flashing CM11 first is not needed. Just try again idk...:/

I tried to flash multiple lollipop roms but they all failed to flash except titanrom

My TWRP version is 2.8.4 and i tried to flash cm roms but they either fail or can't stream videos. Help pls I will provide any information about my phone. Right now I'm running titanrom 5.0.2 on my phone and it works fine but I wanna upgrade to 5.1.

I will give u a step by step procedure
1. Update you're twrp
2. Download the official cm 12.1 nightly
3. Copy the nightly zip to you're external SD card
4. One main thing u should update you're boot loader as you're saying that you are on stock moto 5.0.2 then your boot loader should be up to date
5. Now make a back up of current ROM
6. Wipe internal , external , dalvik cache , cache
7. Now flash the ROM and gapps and gapps I suggest u to use cm gapps
8. Wipe dalvik cache , cache
9. Reboot your device
If u face any issue after following this procedure also then you re boot to recovery and wipe both the caches

Need Help updating PureNexus to 6.0.1

I recently purchased a Nexus 6 running PureNexus 6.0.
I have tried to update to 6.0.1 without any success. I have downloaded the 6.0.1 update including the gapps file. I have booted into recovery mode using Teamwin. I have wiped delvik and cache and then selecting the zip files, I swipe install and reboot. The phone does not update. I am still on 6.0. Hoping that some can provide me some clear information on what i am do wrong and how to correctly update my phone.
Thank you in advance
Alex
If this pure nexus you mentioned is a custom rom, yes you can not update it with original rom update. You need custom rom update which generally rom developer prepares as a full stand alone rom, not update. But if you're talking about original factory rom, this time you need to flash all 6.0.1 rom because you have custom recovery so the update itself will not work.
But above all, which I get confused, what is this update zip you are speaking of ?

Boot loop

Trying to go to cm 13 on my nexus 5. Installed twrp, no issues, downloaded and installed su 2.64 zip. Stuck in a boot loop now. Solutions? Of course, no backup. Can I just wipe and install the cm 13 zip and gapps?
Thanks

i had the exact experience, been trying to wipe dalvik and things. just dont work. but this guy managed this problem with updating supersu.
and me, just solved it with factory reset and wondering the root still there.
I had the same thing happen to me. Wiped System, Dalvik & Cache,
Restored System Backup w TWRP
Wiped Dalvik & Cache
Installed latest CM13 Nightly and GApps
Success!!!
