How to carrier unlock the OnePlus 3T - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hey guys, i wanted to order a oneplus 3T but the problem is that im getting it shipped from the uk to the country that i live in...the problem is that im not in the country list where oneplus has its support...so i was wondering could someone help me by giving me a link or telling me some steps how could i carrier unlock it...??

I believe all Oneplus's are carrier unlocked.
O2 in the UK are known for locking their phones but they have not locked the 1+ even on contract.
EDIT: Maybe its not on the support list because of the network modes?

All of OnePlus' devices are unlocked. They have never been locked to any specific carrier. So you have nothing to worry about.

being a smart-a** and stealing the other replies..
step 1: order phone
step 2: use phone
if you follow those steps exactly, you will be ok.
Note: I am not responsible if you follow these steps and brick your phone.

As others have said there is no specific carrier lock on the phone but if you are worried that it may not support the mobile bands in your country use this website to check http://willmyphonework.net/

Yea oneplus does not carrier lock, the bootloader is locked but that is easily unlocked. Aslong as your using a gsm carrier you will be fine.

[Q] HD7 Unlocking Debranding.

Hey Guys,
I'm looking to upgrade to the HD7 in the near future main reason i'm waiting is because o2 UK has the device as an exclusive at the moment and i'm not prepared to switch network. I know some people have already unlocked their devices to be used on other carriers but from what you can tell has the been any repercussions? Also are there any unmodded - debranded ROMS avaliable?

Ceesheim, do you know what is the percentage of security unlocked among all HD7s? So far I've seen 2 in our discuss group more than 200 members. One is my T-mobile version, so lucky to get it, the other is one of the members, which i told him to search every bootloader mode before purchase, and he found it yesteday, O2 version.

Rooted, remove Device Unlock App possible?

Hi,
I just bought from Ebay an H872 TMobile LG G6 and found out it's BAD IMEI and can't do SIM UNLOCK or cost too much with Device Unlock APP.
One question, any chance to remove the preinstalled Device Unlock App from phone and revoke the SIM UNLOCK CODE instead?
If it is truly a bad IMEI that will not help. Every carrier will check the IMEI when you try and put it on their network and reject it.
It's doable, just check your phone's IMEI on t-mobile servers here: https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx
Also to be sure, check your IMEI also here: http://imeipro.info
I've got a locked H872. I contacted Tmo about unlocking it, and they said that I had to have the original owner contact them to have it unlocked, but they will unlock it. I bought the phone from a guy that bought it from the woman who purchased the phone out right from Tmo. The guy I bought it from used it on straightalk with their Tmo SIM. Anyways, I've been looking for a SIM unlock method that I could do myself, to no avail. In 2014 I SIM unlocked a Sprint XT1056 using the NVITEM software...is there anything like this available for this device

I have a similar requirement, I purchased unlocked t-mobile lg g6 but after 30 days it showed up a message "temporary device unlock has expired" and now it is not accepting my Indian sim network.
If you or anyone else reading this post please let me know if there is such software exists that can help unlock it. :crying:

Is it possible to unlock the V40's (EU) bootloader at the moment?

With the LG V40 finally being in stores in Europe, does anyone know if the EU version is unlockable at this moment? Or is no V40 unlockable at the moment, regardless of region, SKU and simlock or simfree?
Edit: EU SKUs:
LM-V405EB
LV-V405EBW
Possible? Yes. Risky? HIGHLY! The phone is still relatively new to the market, from the developer's view. Let them fiddle with it a while. Better to wait for a safe way. The phone has SO much potential, so I doubt it'll be ignored for long.

Its interesting that for the V30 at first it was NOT on their site as unlockable, but a few tried it and it seems like if you manually entered the device details it WAS unlockable! I wonder if anyone has tried with the V40 this way?

Well in order to try you need the Device ID which is the "Fastboot OEM Device-ID" aka you need Bootloader Access just to try to unlock the Bootloader but most variants just reboot when trying to access it...so we need someone with access to that to try it

I've tried with my unlocked B&H V40. I even tried the page source edit that worked for the V30 a while back. No luck. It said that bootloader unlock was for the LG-V405QA was not "yet" available.
Interesting that is said "yet", so maybe it will be soon, I guess we will have to wait and see. Not sure why they make such a big deal about unlocking bootloader/rooting, I mean other than a few guys bricking phones, does root really cost LG that much of an issue?
V405EBW is in supported list now.

Very nice!! Now for the V30 it says "LG V30: H930 and H930G for the European market" although the US998 version seemed to work. Maybe V40 US version will be in the same boat.
Lg v40 405ebw
I get this error on the LG Developer website.
Unfortunately, your device( Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, (HONG KONG), LMV405EBW.HKG.
Is there a way to change the image on it for something else than LMV405EBW.HKG ???

I’m looking for this as well I purchased in the uk it’s Europe model with HKG firmware.
V10b-HKG-XX and would like GBR but doing this would stop any OTA updates I think..it did with my G7.

But it's NOT supported! The LG Developer site simply lists LMV405EBW as being supported. It makes no mention at all of which versions of LMV405EBW are actually supported. In other words, their list is garbage and cannot be relied upon. How is the buying public meant to know if LG wont be straightforward about it and be honest? There is no official information from LG or anyone as to the differences between them. Which raises an obvious point. If LG can allow the 'European' version to be unlocked then why can't they do it for the HK or 'international' version as well?
I had naively assumed that LMV405EBW meant LMV405EBW!
It's not good enough and I have sent a pointed and direct email to LG, telling them to lift their game. Very frustrating.

Flashing from U to U1 will not remove the carrier lock. The lock must be removed by the carrier the phone was used with.

No. I would suggest contacting @mvikrant97 and see if he might be able to help, he does free FRP unlocking so I don't know if he can help with carrier unlocking.
It is possible that the original owner of the phone never contacted the carrier and asked them to unlock it. If you are able, you might want to contact the seller and see if they can.
