Bootloader/Modem? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. It's been a while since I rooted this phone because my work wouldnt allow it. Anyway I finally got it rooted (v 6.0.1) and TWRP going. I was thiking about flashing the CMRemix rom and they mention "You MUST be on the Latest Bootloader and Modem for your Carrier - D0K2 for Tmo SM-N910T". Where do I even find out if im using that? My current baseband is N910TUVSEPG2 if that helps.

Choose BL tab in odin to flash bootloader
Choise CP tab in odin to flash modem
Must Flash both files otherwise simcard and wifi will not work in cm13.
On cm13 first boot if sim does not work just restart device and it will work fine

Flash ATT S5 to Tmobile

Can I flash a rooted Galaxy S5 with OF3 baseband version to Tmobile stock ROM by using Odin? I keep hearing that ATT Galaxy S5 has a locked bootloader but how does that stop it from using Odin to flash my own modem and baseband. Is it not possible?
I found all the modem, baseband, and ROMs for Tmobile at this location.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo.../compilation-s5-g900t-stock-firmware-t3042400
Update: bought the phone full price 1.5 years ago so does that mean I have a locked bootloader or can I install any custom ROM?

No you can not flash the T mobile bootloader. Odin can flash a bootloader if the bootloader is unlocked only. Yes your OF3 has a locked bootloader as this phone has always had it locked and no one has been able to unlock it. No you can not install any custom rom. If you want a T mobile rom you will most likely need to port it to your phone (no i don't know how) best to stick with AT&T roms if you don't know how to port.

@Rakuu i started to put it back on my phone but not sure if i wanna deal worth the trouble shooting of a lot of things again. Did you ever get it running smooth on the 900a? My 900t needs a new screen right so I've been running my 9p0a on TMS5 3.0.

I was running it for a while, but I switched to tms5 as well, can't remember exactly why but I think I was having issues with xposed. Couldn't live without the darkness theme though so I kinda 'ported it'(decompiled the systemui and stuff and used tms5 apks as base).

I've been running both TMS5 and Twi5ted for a while (Android 5.0). I've had on-going annoying issues with both. TMS5 freezes quite often, and Twi5ted will randomly reboot. Is there a way to install (Odin) a stock Rom (i.e. from here) and stay rooted, or flash one and re-root? If so, could I install the 5.1.1 version or stay on 5.0? I just realized as well that, with Twi5ted being based on TMobile, it shows my model number as G900T vs. the original G900A.
Thanks.

Has anyone confirmed downgrade from MM?

As the thread states....has anyone tried to flash stock DOK2 firmware from the new MM update? I have searched and asked many questions but have not gotten a solid answer. And if no one knows or no one has tried yet, would someone who had already taken the update be willing to try flashing stock DOK2 firmware? For developmental purposes. Thanks in advance. ?

Root works perfectly fine. Use SuperSu Systemless root. I believe the version number is 2.74-2. It's the latest beta if I'm not mistaken.
First use ODIN to get TWRP onto the device and then flash the supersu zip like usual.
I was thinking of just using flashfire to flash BL and modem only then install the rom..that way it doesnt overwrite recovery... bad idea ?

I was able to downgrade to DOK2 but I only flashed the bootloader & modem file not the entire firmware
If you flashed BL then we are good. I wonder if the MM bootloader is like n910G.....they couldn't go from 5.1.1 to 4.4.4 but when they got 6.0.1 they were able to got back 2 steps to 4.4.4.like a magical BL unlock ha

I had a T-mobile Note 4 (N910T) on 5.0.1 , downgraded to KitKat 4.4.4, when Lolipop 5.1.1 came out I upgraded. rooted, and then flashed custom rom Tekxodus .. phone used to restart randomly .. later discovered that once you upgrade OK2 you get locked and no longer can downgrade to KK.
later on, the phone started to give mmc error and then just died.
Lesson Learned, stay on 5.0.1 or downgrade to 4.4.4 and stay there.
I still wonder if Android 6.0.1 Locks down the downgrade process to 4.4.4. I doubt it will allow it.

Ok. You just downgrade, but I have a question.
After you flashed BL and CS, you still have to flash the firmware, right? So, I have to have the firmware OK2 too, right?

Yea if you want everything to be OK2 but its not necessary....if you are gonna use twrp, u dont need to odin recovery....and if you are gonna use a custom rom instead of stock then you dont need to odin system...so basically anyone with twrp and a custom OS is only using BL and Modem
But i always just flash it all just to be thorough....

Crossing my fingers that something good will come of this though I am a bit skeptical.
Hi there. I TEST it on my G935T but not with out some issue. Flashing the rom TRIPS QUALCOMM SECURITY BOOT, the BINARY GOES CUSTOM. To BOOT the phone, you'll have to FLASH THE US SM-G935 Samsung_G935x_QC_Rooted_BOOT Tar file for the phone to BOOT. That FILE changes the BINARY from CUSTOM to OFFICIAL and BOOT up. Next issue, the PHONE randomly REBOOT WHILE THE WI-FI ON. Turn off the WIFI and skip through everything, and you'll be ok after that. The PHONE I used to FLASH THE ROM HAVE NO SIM CARD IN IT, So I don't know if you'll get RANDOM REBOOTS AS IT CONNETED TO LTE. As for the ROM, it LOOKS FAIRLY AS STOCK G935U FIRMWARE. I compared it with my G935T RUNNING STOCK OFFICIAL G935U FIRMWARE, it LOOKS THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE VOICEMAIL APP and the phone SAY CUSTOM. IT WOULD OF WORK, it just have to prepared different to FLASH USING FLASHFIRE app. Just a little bit more TWEAKS AND IT WILL RUN ON ALL US SNAPDRAGON SM-G935 MODELS.
Okay so what's all been debloated? Also had issues with twrp recently when I downloaded it through the play store. Next question is SU removed when doing a hard reset? Otherwise than those of definitely want to run it. Let me set up an account here, I have some questions like removing knock and stuff like that but if you could answer what I asked it'd be great.

It says this is a bloated ROM, and download directly from the links provided for the best chance of it working. There is a reason they provide the downloads sometimes.
Ok so let me get this strait. That bootimage sets the status to official? is that because its a stock kernel? The wifi can be fixed with a default.prop edit so can secure storage. Give me more info on that boot tar you guys have to use. Maybe I can modify it with my kernel blob so it boots through still.
G935U Int unlocked users, did you use crom.apk to unlock your bootloaders? If so I can compile a kernel for YOU when I get the time. But if you used crom.apk than unlocked your bootloaders, than in dev options have oem unlock checked still, that top rom and kernel should boot up. The wifi issues, you can fix by editing default.prop, secure storage also.
So I really need you G935U users to speak up like I had to tell the dual sim guys. Does this work on SM-G935U? :
Download and install S6-Crom.apk, it will allow the bootloader to be unlocked for the S7 Edge SM-G9350:

Well, I can't speak for the genuine 935U, but I tried it on my SM-G935R4 (US Cellular) and it force-closes upon opening. If it helps at all, I'm not running the stock USCC ROM, but rather the Verizon-based Stang5.0litre custom ROM that can be found over in the Verizon S7E forum. I've successfully used the 935U firmware on this phone also. Kinda makes me think it's not gonna work on a real 935U either, but I dunno.
(Oh and yeah, I've been wondering about TWRP too - Can we really flash it through Odin despite the bootloader lock?)
The G935U bootloader cannot be unlock nor can any USA S7 models that I know of. I tried to flash the twrp after installing the s6-crom.apk , but twrp won't flash and the s6-crom.apk keeps FC.

What bootloader were you on before? Were you on Nougat or Oreo before flashing Weta? What version Weta rom did you flash & did you flash Weta bootloader & modem update?
I've been using Weta rom for a long time & never had this issue so I still think it's a bootloader issue or a coincidence that your phone's hardware failed.

Since you won't say what Weta version you flashed & you didn't flash Weta bootloader update, I'm assuming you flashed Oreo version of Weta as Weta rom itself doesn't include bootloader & modem.
Since you won't give more details on what you flashed exactly I don't have a clue on what you should do or if it is a bootloader issue. Maybe kernel related I don't know.
So at this point all I can suggest is that if you are on BRA8 now, flash entire BRA8 or BRB2 firmware in Odin, BL, CP, AP, & CSC. Or at the least flash BL & CP.

Not if you flash only BL & CP. But those won't flash kernel. If you still have the issue, trying flashing a custom kernel if you don't want to loose TWRP & reinstall.
First off, I feel there would be many more reports of this with either TWRP or Weta Mod if the issue lay there with either of them.
I have used both in the past and have always worked fine for me.
Did you follow the flashing instructions letter by letter?
Have you got the latest TWRP that works with Oreo?
Which I believe you need to flash the older version before flashing the newer TWRP via TWRP with the iso.image?
I would just flash the full stock image via Odin like others have suggested. If the phone then works fine, as it should after this, try again but just take your time doing it.

Stuck on Devbase - Help needed

Hi, I had a problem where I flashed a custom ROM and lost my IMEI / baseband - none of the SIMs worked.
I fixed it by flashing the Devbase ROM from this forum. The only issue is, whenever I flash any other ROM, I lose my IMEI / Baseband, including the stock from SamMobile.
As the battery is so awful on One UI V1 I'd love to be able to go back to stock so I can get the pending One UI update.
Any ideas?
Thanks

because uve not updated your baseband(modem) and or bootloader are too old or too new compared to the rom you are on. but usualy its too old.
often people flash roms left and right and never ever think about updating BL and CP. they eventually will need to get those updated as well, not just the rom. its the users responsibility to manually flash the aforementioned files with Odin.
so all in all flash november 2019 firmware.( bl.md5 and cp.md5) you wint loose data by flashing those. nor do you need to reroot/twrp.

often people flash roms left and right and never ever think about updating BL and CP. they eventually will need to get those updated as well, not just the rom. its the users responsibility to manually flash the aforementioned files with Odin.
so all in all flash november 2019 firmware.( bl.md5 and cp.md5) you wint loose data by flashing those. nor do you need to reroot/twrp.

Hi, I am on Devbase 6.0 (Pie) & I flashed 14.11.19 UK BTU firmware N960FOXM4CSJ1 BL & CL with Odin.
I reflashed Devbase again from TWRP and the phone is working again, but unable to get on any other ROM.
Thanks
Jamie

when you flash roms, have you made a habit to wipe before?
try to go to wipe menu and do factory wipe then flash a rom.
