How much time it will take to getting support for A8 2016 (SM-A810F) DS ? :o - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Android Development

All A8 2016 owners keep this thread active

Yes, how come there's no root solution for SM-A810F?

we are waiting for root and custom roms..

you should explore how to port custom recoveries.

Confused

I've got surprised there is no root method's for Galaxy A8 (SM-A810)s!!!!!!!!!

Any solution for root?
It has same soc as s6 generation.
I found twrp for a810yz, same phone different frequency bands. Can be used?

My advice for you, don't waste your times, it is not available.

I have seen it, but it's not working with SM-A810F. I had tried.

Uh, where is different.
Bad thing, grat device but no support.
I see some stuff on arab language but no chance to understand anything...
What happened when you flash this one?

This should probably be moved to Q&A since it's a question, but I got access to a combination firmware which I believe should contain engineer sboot/boot.
COMBINATION_OJV_FA60_A810FXXU1APK2_OJV1APK2_CL9768351_QB11510630_REV00_user_mid_noship.tar.md5
Maybe @ashyx got more insight on if/how they can be used to gain root?

Yes, boss can make us twrp for sure

Yeah please let us know root

Try this, if it doesn't boot I'll probably have to build the kernel from source. The stock recovery is also in the zip.

Thanks, boss. Unfortunately I can not try this, phone is coming in next days. But maybe somebody else can

Internal is an encryption issue, external is probably a path mount issue, restart is a dm-verity issue.
Need to FORMAT DATA then apply the no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx patch.
Can you post the output of:
ls -laR /dev/block
I suggest to use adb and copy and paste.

yes, but you can download old versions online. some old versions are way too old for lollipop. try flashing the one in the link i provided. download it via your phone, boot into recovery after its downloaded, then flash it and reboot

CM has root disabled by default I believe. If you download the SuperSU app when you're not rooted, you cannot install the binaries because the binaries go in /system which needs root to modify and its the binaries that make root possible. Kind of a catch ²²
When you flash the binaries from recovery to /system, you don't need root because root is only applicable to android, which isn't running when you're in recovery.
Hope this helps

Guide for extracting the file : connect USB (should be rooted + USB debugging enabled), launch RUN_backup_all.bat, "backup" named folder will appear, find partitions.mbn there

As long as you are pretty sure you're stuck and have a useless device, then you may as well try a retail version and re-customize it from there. A quick search showed this as a possible source for you (asia-aust v) http://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto X (2013)/Stock/XT1052/ for 5.1.
RSDLite it and good luck. Don't forget to backup anything you want saved from the /sdcard/* world, if you can still access it. The stock .XML file will blow that stuff away.

I re-read the thread and realized that I'm so used to people mis-using phrases like hard-bricked around here.. I figured that if you were even able to contemplate trying to somehow flash the partitions.fbn , that you must have some way into bootloader. My mistake. Sorry about that.
I've seen a couple of supposed ways (well, the JTAG way probably works if you want to go through that mess) for the moto-x when the bootloader is "gone". Another exploit for that for the Moto-X supposedly is to flash a blank bootloader. If I find any of the old threads on that, I'll post links. OK: For example, here's some old post with working links for the oddball f/w & drivers needed to do it. It's sort of a JTAG method without bothering with the JTAG H/W. It's also for a different model moto-x but I doubt that matters. Here's a link: http://www.usoftsmartphone.com/t300062.html

Draining battery!!

I've recently rooted my device. I installed TWRP, AND everything went well. Kept the root for a couple of days, and then deleted it because I didn't like it. I didn't face any problems while having the root on. However, once I unrooted my device, by installing a new OS on my Note5, I've been having battery issues. I leave the phone on at night, and in the morning, I find that the battery is at least 30% gone! While rooting aND unrooting my device, all the threads were successful. However, I still can't find why my battery is draining so fast. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
If you are unrooted. It's because your device won't go into deepsleep... so you need to reroot.. or install a custom kernel

Now that strange, where I managed doing it my self. If (which I believe is the case) your model doesn't show up on the list choose the option of 'All Other Supported Models '. This did the trick for me, where I also have unlocked my desire 10 lifestyle.
Now getting the rom version 'tweaked' to your convenience that's is the harder part. I managed install Xposed and xtended tweaks but it doesn't really work because SElinux is active, system remains R/O and wp can't be de-activated
Good luck

There are a couple of reasons for people not replying.
First of all, the lack of details on your problem makes it impossible to determine the solution.
1. What do you mean bricked? Bootloop? Stuck on OnePlus logo? Hard brick? How did you get it bricked in the first place?
2. The restore tool removes TWRP. Have you installed it again?
3. What do you mean you can't install or the update the ROM? Is there an error message? Are you trying to flash a custom ROM in the stock recovery?
4. You waited less than 2 hours. You realize there are different time zones? Some people are sleeping, others are at work.

Hey you self-entitled prick, transfer a copy of the full ROM onto your phone through adb/USB OTG/MTP and flash it through the stock recovery. If you had previously unlocked your bootloader and have TWRP installed, use that to flash instead. If you do not know what any of the above means, look for it yourself through the forums.

Reflash with the MSMtool after re-downloading everything and verifying all downloads first before proceeding. Use the tool I have posted at https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/guide-official-op3t-stock-reset-to-oos-t3598864
Ensure you verify before starting the flash. Also uninstall or deactivate any anti virus application installed on your PC.
should i change the data partitions and everything to f2fs or other thing. system to ext4 data to f2fs
For now, don't worry about the data partitions. As mentioned above, reflash from MSMTools, verify the downloaded package first, and then check. All your issues are probably caused by a bad file.
