Removed Calendar Storage, Titanium Backup Restore hangs... Share a file with me? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yes, yes, I feel stupid, but I figured I had a backup so... Already searched for a few hours for ways to get Titanium Backup to stop hanging on restore, I've tried everything and I've pretty much given up. I have the files Titanium backup created if anyone knows how I can manually install them.
Otherwise it would be awesome if someone could link me to "Calendar Storage 4.4.2-N900AUCUCNC2". I've scoured the Internet already, and I'm fairly certain it's not online. If someone could pull it off your phone and post it for me, it would save me a ton of time. I might just have to live without a calendar if not, going to have revert to stock to retrieve it and I'm not sure I have the patience. Maybe a backup made with ES File Explorer would work? IDK
Thanks!

I just happen to have a spare Note 3 running 4.4.2, i extracted the apks from it, hopefully one of these solves the problem

Thanks! I'd be embarrassed to reveal how long I've spent today trying to fix this problem, you're a life saver! Definitely not going to put much faith in Titanium Backup again, although it seems to work great for a lot of people.
Hopefully if anyone else has the same problem, they'll stumble upon this thread.

[SOLVED][Q] Homescreen settings folder location in Android?

Does anyone know where the homescreen settings are stored? Namely I am looking for the location in the android file system that stores the preferences for homescreen layout, widget placement, icon placement, and icon included.
I have been mucking around in:
Code:
/cache
/system
/sys
folders and can't seem to find them anywhere. I'm currently backing up and restoring
Code:
/data/data/com.android.settings
after a wipe which restores the wallpaper setting so I know I'm close, I just don't know where else to look without a little direction.
I am also backing up and restoring
Code:
/data/data/com.google.android.providers.settings
but I'm not sure what these do.
If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone?
Bumped only because I'm pretty sure someone knows, they just aren't around yet
I have a feeling that XML files are involved. And I believe it should be in Launcher.apk.
Not sure but I thought it was in the launcher database. /data/data/com.android.launcher/databases

Haha...It worked...I found it here just like you said and added it to my "backup everything" script.
I wasn't able to remove the whole com.android.launcher folder and replace it with the one I wanted though. I had to remove each of the .db and .sqlite files and then restore them to get it to work.
The only thing it won't restore is the widgets, however it remembers where they are supposed to be, I just get the "problem loading widget" in that spot rather than the widget, but that's fine with me.
Thanks dumfuq for your help...

FWIW, I get the same widget problem with MyBackupPro. For me it was worth just buying the app rather that writing a script.

MyBackup Pro was an application that I highly respected before I got into the inner working of the android file system and learning a few in's and out's. I also bought the app and liked it for a while however I bought it before they came out with their little warning about restoring your gmail contacts so it essentially corrupted my entire contact file system. The problem is well known and documented now, but it wasn't when it first came out. I prefer to backup things on my own now in their original condition and file state so that I can avoid the situation in the future. MyBackup Pro also seems to have a problem interacting with SMSbackup. I can only assume that it corrupts the data files for the text messages similar in the way it does for the contacts.
But I digress.....
interesting. I am going to use your method and see if I can figure out how to backup my locale settings however.
Sweet...Glad it worked. Been meaning to test but I have been procrastinating wiping.

When/if you get un-procrastinated (LOL), PM me and I can shoot the snippet of the script over to you already to go
Thanks again for your help.

SMS Backup:

Is anyone else unable to use this on the latest couple of CM builds?
It seems to always force close on me, going to try to get a log and maybe pass it on to the developer of the backup application...
One of my main reasons for not switching builds is because the lack of being able to backup and restore my sms.
I use sms backup and restore.
Works great.
Really great.
5,000 texts backed up to my sd card.
When I want to backup more sms they add to the data file or making more files in the folder.
and I've restored all my texts to three different builds now.
Last back up I did was on a new Dwang build, and for 4k and some odd hundred texts took about 34 minutes to restore in my inbox but it did perfectly.
the author of sms backup is aware of the issue. he's working on it.

Oh sweet, that's excellent - thanks for the heads up. : )
I'm looking into it as well. I'm not sure what broke it yet.
Just found the issue #50 in the google code page. Looking forward to seeing it fixed, one of the most useful (even if never used) features.
Being able to do a quick Google search on your sms messages is phenomenal. = )
I was having the same issue so I was about to contact with the dev but checked here first. Thanks for the advise!
The developer does not run CM, and as such is having a hard time replicating the problem, or getting enough information to figure out how to fix it.
SMSBackup is a must for me, as much as I text. When it broke, I started looking for alternatives.
XArchive is a similar app (based on the same source originally, I think), and it works fine on the latest CM builds. It's a pay app, but it works, so I bought it. No problems. I just couldn't wait for the free app to be fixed.
there is small fix here, works for me:
http://code.google.com/p/android-sms/issues/detail?id=50
An update was pushed today and the issue is now fixed! All is right with the world again!
Did everyone get up and running again with the latest update (1.1.1)? Because I'm still getting FCs, on 4.2.7.1 and 4.2.8, despite uninstalls and a wipe of the phone before 4.2.7.1.
Seriously bummed here, that's one of my favorite apps...
Ugh - of all the things I tried, I missed the most obvious... The folder name is case sensitive. D'oh!

[Q] Where are texts stored?

May seem like a noob-ish question, but does anyone know where text messages are stored? I'm just getting a little annoyed at the fact that I lose everything every time I reflash, and would just like to have them all constantly so I can flash to my heart's content without worrying about them disappearing.
Help would be appreciated! Thanks guys.

Oh wow... didn't even think to look there. (Duh...) Just wanted to do it manually, haha. Thanks for the recommendation! Found one that's been confirmed to work on SGS devices.
Yeah, I know nandroid works... I'll see how well this app works!
Thanks again kaik541.
i love sms backup+

Photos not showing up after taking pictures

ok i searched this issue but found nothing useful or helpful to fix this but every picture i take seems to dissappear after a few minutes and all i get is a gray triangle with an ! mark inside it for all pictures taken by the camera. anyone else have this issue?
im on bady boyz rom
rooted s-offed
h/k m8
No body is having issues with pictures not displaying correctly?? Im on ViperONEM8 rom but it did this on the stock rom and badboyz as well. must not be rom related but i dont know so sum one have any ideas what the issue is? thanks
Have you tried changing the storage location? Also, are you restoring your gallery each time you try a new ROM? You could have the folder hidden on accident and as you restore the gallery that folder becomes hidden again. See if you cannot find the photos another way, for example: Quickpic or ES File Browser.

thank you for helping.
unfortunately yes i did try changing the storage location, in the camera app i changed it to ext sdcard & phone storage both same issue. also i used the Xposed module "Downloads2SD" & "Pictures2SD" both to change the location but still same issue. as for restoring my gallery, no i dont restore it at all when installing new rom. unless somehow it automatically restores from my google account but i dont think it does.
I also have used Root Browser & ES File Explorer to look in every directory on phone and sdcard for the pictures and they cant be found anywhere.
thanks again for replying and trying to help appreciate it much. any other ideas tho?

What happens when you use a different camera app? If that doesn't work either I would suggest an RUU. If an RUU doesn't work I would suggest returning the phone.

still not working with other camera apps. im gonna try RUUing once and see if it still does it. i took a few pics today and all seemed fine until i went to view them later on then they were just displaying the gray triangle thing.. one pic was there and viewed fine one sec then the next its just like the others. i just looked in the gallery now and it shows the previews of these pics but i tap to open them and get the triangle again. its weird & really frustrating i took tons of great pics over the time with this phone and lost them all from this, except of course the stupid test shots ive taken of my wall or whatever pointless shots.. they seem to stay fine its just the important ones that wont.. aarrrghhh gonna RUU right now.
here is a screenshot of what displays for the pictures.. View attachment 2782818

I am having the same issue i moved all my pictures to the external storage card to free up space but now the pics are in limbo i cant find them i just have the triangle where they use to be. the same thing holds true for apps
im beginning to suspect that KK write protection with the external sdcard is the culprit for this but im on viperonem8 and have tried the fixes i found that are suppose to fix the write protection issue and still having same issues. so anyone have any working fixes at all please let us know thanks

I am having the exact same issue and it is frustrating as hell. Especially when I get a great picture, then I go to show someone and it is ****ING GONE.. The only way that I can seem to save them if is when I take them, I immediately share them. After doing extensive research, I have narrowed it down to 2 possible issues.
1) The SD card is somehow corrupted, I purchased a 64GB SD card from eBay and I just recently read about an SD card scandal that was going on which could be the culprit. To test this, I am first going to try with a smaller card that I know works. If that doesn't work, I am going to have the pictures stored on the phone and see if that keeps them.
2) This problem really started to show itself after I downloaded an app called OneGallery, I don't really know if that has anything to do with it, or if it is completely coincidence. If replacing the SD card doesn't work, deleting this app will be the next step.
I love the phone too much to just turn it in or swap it out.

Can someone send me a file please? ( 24A)

I was running though Titanium Backup freezing some apps and deleting some. I guess I deleted a wrong one. I can't get back into the phone b/c of it. The name of it was something HomeXXX. It's right above the home.marshmallow app. It has the same icon. I'm thinking this will be a little easier then having to go back to stock.
Can anyone help me out here?
THanks,
Jake
