S7 Edge - Clear View case making scratches - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

I've been using my S7 Edge for about two months. The phone is great, but I'm really disappointed with the Clear View case.
The right side of the phone has marks and scratches that, in my opinion, is produced by the poorly designed Clear View case.
The front cover will not fit/cover the phone perfectly and keeps sliding up and down when it's closed.
I have noticed that the S6 edge had the same problem, and that Samsung verified that the case could make scratches.
It's pretty obvious that the case is a terribly designed product. It's the most expensive Samsung case, and it's a shame that it obviously hasn't been better since the S6 Edge version.
Does anyone have any experience in what Samsung's customer service can or will do in similar cases?
It's for sure that won't accept anything but a screen replacement.

Official cases line a failure?

I think there are real big problems related to the lack of good accessories for S7 edge.
Facts:
- The best OEM protective cover (at least in my opinion) – the Leather Cover is nowhere to be found, only in pictures; there are several weeks of estimated delay for this product all over the world!
- The slim Clear Cover (transparent back cover) is mediocre designed, you should test them carefully before buying! Margins are awfully finished (very rough), the case comes already with scrathes on the transparent inner part (just like the case of S6 edge) and the lateral support (added also for lateral protection, a new redesign vs the one for S6 Edge/ Edge+) is very shaky, making the use of this case an absolute awful experience! At this price and with such high expectations, this is outrageos
- For the non-OEM cases: many have really big problems of proper compatibility and there must be 2 alternative reasons for this:
 Samsung has made a “last minute” redesign (eg: on top, a possible switch between the extra microphone hole vs the sim tray position)
 Samsung has rushed things too much and the non-OEM suppliers for accessories have failed this rythm... Even SPIGEN has big problems, there are many clear rumors that they have recalled all their accessories for the S7 Edge delivered to the market (you can start by checking amazon USA – there is no Spigen product for S7 edge!). The biggest problem: the clasic Neo Hybrid case, where the lateral polycarbonate frame was way too loose... Also the Rugged Armor, way too loose.... you should check reviews and facts including here on the forum!
- I must add that it-s a huge dissapointment regarding the non-existence of the Glossy Cover that was available for S6 Edge+, what a pity! And that design was clearly much much better and what a beautiful slim-line!
What do you think? What have you experienced?
I agree with your points on the Samsung cases. I think they could have been better. I have the Clear View and whilst it's an adequate case, it feels very loose. The front flap doesn't magnetically lock in place which I thought it really should. It's UI feature hasn't been implemented well.
I disagree with the Spigen comments. I have two Spigen cases and have had no issues with misalignment or them being too loose. In fact quite the opposite. I have two Spigen cases and one more on order. The two that I have in hand are:
Slim Armor Air
Neo Hybrid Crystal - Gunmetal
Both are seriously tight fits. The latter being tighter then the former. Whether the issues you mention are limited to a particular market, I don't know. But certainly Amazon UK still have all S7E products from Spigen.
I've also got the Spigen Thin Fit on order from Amazon.

The OP isn't wrong about Spigen's cases having fitment issues; take a look at my case OP if you want to see pictures of what he's referring to. On the other hand I disagree with why they're out of stock everywhere. This is speculation: Spigen likely had to revise one thing or another hence why they had a sale to clear inventory. Spigen's done this before, so it would not be surprising to see it happen again. I've seen then revise cases randomly, and then not tell anyone that they changed the case design. Spigen had never recalled a case, but I think it's certainly plausible they're revising the line up. I know my screen protectors from them had issues, and the new ones won't ship until the end of the month (maybe the cases will too). Only time can tell at this point, so there's no reason to really speculate further.
Ordered 2 spigen ultra hybrid's on amazon - 1 was loose on the sides not gripping phone and the other is slowly becoming loose.
Ordered 2 spigen neo hybrid cases on ebay. Silver has the loose PC frame the gold seems OK for now.
I will be contacting Spigen to see about replacements or if there are known fitment issues and if they are working on fixing them. I've had mostly spigen cases in the past with 0 issues. Hopefully this gets fixed.

I'm not saying the OP or you are wrong, I'm just saying my experience of the cases has been different. Maybe I've just been lucky.
I have a clear spigen and the plastic screen protector is being pushed off. There qare no glqa1ss ones available. And the battery cases not available

I'm definitely bummed that you can't get the Samsung leather case they show off on their websites so prominently. I love leather and always thought the Apple leather cases for iPhones felt good and had a nice minimalist look to them, so I was exciting to see Samsung rip that idea off. But since they weren't available at launch, I already have a case now and will question the worth of me buying another one if and when they come out.
I had the clear view cover and returned it mostly because of the fact it disables always on display. Instead i bought the keyboard case from samsung. So far i am happy with it. I always had problems while typing on the touchscreen and with the keyboard its really cool to type. Response on buttonpress could be better specially at the edges (my 'p' gives really bad resonse) and sometimes it acts crazy and the software keyboard or google voice thing is popping up. Also always on display does not work while keyboard is attached at front, but thats ok. The feeling of the case is really nice. A soft rubbered but not to rubby finish. I like it

Just the leather one? Not the LED leather one? It's weird because in the UK on the 8th when the S7E was released in the Carphone Warehouse I went in to they had just the Leather case by Samsung not the LED one. Now though, I see the LED leather case everywhere online etc. but rarely see the just leather one anywhere now!

Y'know that's weird. Sometimes 'P' on my touchscreen keyboard can give a bad response. Wonder if this is a common software issue...
I'm a big fan of the Clear Cover. No problems whatsoever and love the corners.
I've had my Spigen Ultra Hybrid crystal clear (ordered from Amazon) on my S7 Edge since March 5th (when the case arrived) and it was a perfect fit. Yesterday I took the case off (my first time removing it) to install my Skinomi screen protector. I put my Spigen case back on this morning and the case went on with the same feel as when I first got it.
All of the official cases are a failure, Samsung's and Apple's equally. I was looking forward to the release of the ARA phone but Google backed down. They released the Pixel which is just an improvement of the other competitor designs. There's nothing new and I am really disappointed in the whole industry. And now the poor excuse of an "official case" for their products. There are so many possibilities for making great cases for the phones. It is like the best car brand starts producing official ****ty tires for their cars. No offense they can invest and make great tires but they don't give a f**k.
On the other hand, I admire small companies that struggle to make great products like I-blades, Nexpaq and partially Otterbox that can continue and improve the modularity paradigm. Google realized that modular phone is a dead end. But they could join projects and release at least modular case for the Pixel.

Help - Need a case that covers up edges

Hi all,
I originally decided on the S7 Edge solely because of the battery life. I hated the curved edges but thought I'd get used to them. Well.... the return period has long since expired and I still hate the edges. Is there any case out there that covers up the edges and adequately protects the phone? Like ideally it would have lips come up over the edges, almost like they weren't there. Additionally, is there any software out there that can turn the edge pixels completely off? I'm not opposed to rooting and such if necessary.
Basically, I'd like to turn the phone into a nice normal flat phone.
Thanks!
If you want a flat phone just trade it in for a regular S7. Otherwise, 3d print or mold yourself a custom case.
As stated, you should trade out for an S7. No company would still be in business of making phone cases if they covered up the edge on a phone specifically made to have one.
try the supcase unicorn pro... that helps to minimize accidental edge touches of that's a concern.
Having bought and spend so much money on cases, I have now settled for Piel Frama's iMagnum case for the S7 edge. I think I might do a little review of this case on here with some photos in few days.
This covers edges of S7E, has a magnetic closure and superb full grain leather. Absolutely amazing case.. Downside, it's one of most expensive case in market, but well worth the money.
P.S. I am not affiliated with the company.

This is the case you need for your problem. This is the one Cmart4 mentioned. It doesn't cover the edges but it is raised at an angle by the edges making it easy to hold like a non curved phone. If you're keeping the phone this is the best case for you. It's also really good with screen protectors since it clips on from the front and it has great drop protection. I've dropped mine over 20 times in that case with zero damage.

Did Anyone Get The Official Samsung Leather Case/Cover? How Does It Age?

So I'm about to replace my S6 Edge with an S7 Edge in Black Onyx. The only thing I hate about not having an iPhone is the general lack of good leather back covers.
Now obviously Samsung do an official leather cover for the S7/S7 Edge, and I've seen reviews Etc., but I can't find anything on how it holds up long-term.
Does the leather develop a nice patina like the official iPhone cases, or does it wear and start to peel like cheap PU leather cases? Would love to see some pics. Also I'd like the brown but I've heard it's more of a tan colour, does it darken with age, or is the black better for a black phone?
Aside from that if you've used it, do you recommend it as a long-term prospect? If not what did you end up using?
Thanks
I have the leather case for the S7E for about 9 Months now. Basically, it is damaged now, so last week I ordered a new case. The leather on the backside is okay (you see a few scratches but it is not bad). On the sides, the leather is pretty much gone, through the friction when I pull it out of my pocket it quite smooth now, so no leather feeling anymore.
Biggest problem is one corner, don't know how but it’s got a crack a few weeks ago. With the time, this crack got bigger and now the corner broken off.
But the protection was very well, dropped the phone a few times no damage on the phone at all (the crack do not come from one of the drops before someone asks)
All in all, I would not buy this case again, at least not for the price I paid back then.

Screen durability on Note 8 vs S7 Edge

Just ordered a Note 8, which will be replacing my S7 Edge. I had the S7 Edge for 2 years and didn't use a screen protector. The screen still looks great. I've read while the Note has Gorilla Glass 5, its harder to crack but scratches easier. Is that the case? And if so would it be recommended to use a protector on the Note 8? I've looked up a lot on Amazon and pretty much all have horrible reviews.
Yes, from my experience, the Note 8s scratch easier. More so than my S7 or S7 Edge ever did.
The 'Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accessories' would be the best place to start as there is a vast amount of first-hand experiences.

Agreed. Put a screen protector on the Note 8.

I have my note 8 since November, and not a single scratch, no peeling paint, I think it depends ultimately of enviroment factors, and handling, as some say it scratches easily despite having care, and others have no scratches so far
I currently have peeling paint on the sides and scratches on the screen and im super careful with my devices. My s7e was smooth AF and it didnt even have a screen protector
Well, when I got my previous device (note 7) I encountered the same posts, some suffering scratches "out of the blue" , and others reporting many scratches despite beeing careful, ond others (including me) with zero scratches, many people think that scratches appear only by contact with sharp metallic objects, or drops, but in fact, many scratches are made by very tiny particles of dust or sand, if the screen has these particles, and it is cleaned dry, the result will be scratches! Even clean looking fingers at first sight (but impregnated with dust) can scratch the screen, I always use a cleaning solution and a microfiber that I keep in a ziplock so it wont gather dust, in this way, the only scratches in all the devices I have had, have been made by accidental drops , so, ultimately the scratches appear in relation as to how you handle the device and how you take care of it, All those people claiming "I dont know why my phone has scratches, I baby it, put a case since day one", etc, in reality seek some comfort saying this note 8 has an "easily scratchable screen" the issue about peeling paint is another matter, there I think is batch related

Question Rugged Tab S8 Ultra case with magic cover

For those like me with the Ultra model who want a good case but not a piece of s%^~ kickstand or overpriced low quality keyboard case, I've asked Spigen about their Rugged Armor Pro like this:
Galaxy Tab S8 / S7 Case Rugged Armor Pro
Galaxy Tab S8 / S7 Case - Rugged Armor Pro is built to withstand the chaos of life without losing the convenience when it's time to chill.
www.spigen.com
They are planning to release their Tab S8 Ultra cases in May. So if like me you've been on the fence about settling for a garbage cover, hang on there a few more weeks.
No rugged one yet but they've got a thin one now. Pricey, but thinking about it. Nice: "*Compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Book Cover Keyboard*". Also "*Attachable side protection only for tablet mode*".
I wish they would have a dummy plug built-in for the charging port. There is at least one case that does, but the whole thing wouldn't work with a Book Cover Keyboard.
And here is a review of the case for s8u -
Actually not so easy to use considering the "Attachable side protection..."
Not happy... after a complete lack of communication about the S8 Tab covers by mailing list, Twitter, Instagram etc, I asked again what is up and this time got:
"Currently, we do not have definite plans to release a Rugged Armor case compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at the moment
However, we will definitely consider your interest and pass it along to our developers! Thank you for the suggestion."
The ****ty case options are enough to regret buying this thing. Should have just stuck with the S7+

I think this is just about timing - if Samsung continues releasing 14.6" tablets, Spigen and other companies will release relevant covers. BTW, haven't you considered SUPCASE for S8U? https://www.supcase.com/collections/galaxy-tab-s

Oh wow. If I could still connect the Keyboard with the tablet with that case on it, I'd definitely go for it. I like the port-protector, plus it makes it easier to find the USB-C port without scratching the side of the tablet up.

I've bought one and it also sits gathering dust for three reasons.
1. I want a physical cover that can also protect the paper feel / textured screen films that I use. Even if I was willing to compromise and put the film over the screen protector, the loss in pen sensitivity becomes significant.
2. I prefer the angle options the Spigen folding cover gives to the kick stand approach.
3. The pen holders are too tight to fit the Staedler Norris fat stylus securely. The Spigen cases are designed in a way which is much more accommodating of different stylus sizes.
I also bought a Fintie case which is more like "magic cover" style but it's flimsy crap with magnets so weak they don't even stay secure under the weight of the cover let alone with the tablet in it. The official Samsung kickstand case is what I'm using for now but yeah, I'm selling the tablet either way and going back to a Plus.
In many ways such a nice tablet, but I guess it's a niche market. A high end oversized relatively heavy tablet suited more to staying inside an office or maybe commute between home and work might be part of the reason for lack of good rugged case options, especially when it competes against the keyboard cover functionality.
Ergh. Was considering getting the Spigen for the Ultra - it's even much cheaper on Amazon right now, but there is only one user rating, and it's 1 out of 5:
I was really glad that I found this one that is similar to the Samsung genuine case and lighter weight but compatible with keyboard as well. However, after a day of use, I started to find critical down sides and there are 2.
1. There is magnet that doesn't compatible with Gal' Tab S8 Ultra and that interrupt S-pen recognition. This is really critical if you are trying to write at the spot where the magnet is...
2. This is much more critical... on the second day, the tablet was malfunctioning that the screen doesn't turn on properly. It turns on after several time of clicking the power button or double taping the screen. However, that only last for 1 sec. I can't do anything because it keeps turns off. First I thought something broken. However, as soon as I take off from the case, it works fine. So, I tried put my tablet on the back of the case. As soon as it contacted the case, the screen went out and doing the same thing. It is breaking my tablet.
I love Spigen. I used their brand ever since I had iPhone3GS... However.. this product is very disappointed.

Too bad. I did find some attachable USB-C dust plugs, though, I'm considering trying. A different one on Amazon had at least one negative comment about coming out by accident too easily, but this one looks like it might stay in better if I can judge just by looks.
