Best costum rom(only nougat) in your opinion for redmi 2 :) - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

If I didn't mention a certain mod feel free to tell me. also please tell me reasons for your choice

use tesla or resurrection remix...opinion matters ..but these are best in 7.1.1 for redmi 2

Tesla or du both are stable
My first preference is tesla

You can try AEX. Smooth and fast. no FC

yes

For me: Xiaomi.eu MIUI 8.1 KitKat. Fit perfectly in Redmi 2 1GB RAM

Dirty unicorns

AICP 12.1 and Tesla

So what we seek on custom ROM:-
1)A little bit of Extra features and customization (I am a heavy seeker though) RR-10/10
2)Performance better than stock.RR-9/10
3)Battery backup.9/10 but here miui-10/10
4)Stability.RR-9.5/10 .Didn't face any scary issue. But some issues are on very nougat based ROM.
So I vote for RR.(I am little bit obsessed with RR from the first )
Also I am a secret lover of Tesla.Though last two updates make me little bit disappoint (After merging the ****ty volte).Hoping @premaca find his phone and againg back in the race.

Same kernel, same base(ground zero ROM project) ,2-3 extra customization feature.
I used the first build of validus but now I am not on it.But I think Tesla is little better than validus.
But remember I used the first build.May be they release another. Check it out.
I can't tell u about OTA update for sure .I didn't check it.

AICP seems more stable than RR.

potato

DU, 5:30 screen, no lags, no bugs, very good ROM.

For me stability is more than customization but little is need of every one so For me it's TESLA N or MOKEE 7.1.1

MOKEE 7.1.1 for sure...!!

Lineage OS is the continuation of CM, so you should just migrate to that if you like CM.
liquid rom and rr remix rom awesome
Nitrogen ROM

Nitrogen i think
I think dirty unicorns mako 7.1.1 is best rom most stable and most customizable rom there is also it is regular ly updated it is maintained by nitin chobe best n4 rom Dev in my opinion his ROMs are great any of his ROMs should work well for you just pick the rom that suits your tastes/needs
I would say latest ubuntu touch. Its easy to understand with the swipe and have the (web)apps i need while the rom has a good battery life (walking in the city with gps tracking on).
But what I can see is that Lineage 14.1 will probably be most updated like the old galaxy nexus was/is

Yes, they have regular updates and cool features but from my experience they are using too much ram (a little bit under 1GB on idle) which can be annoying.
Also i want to mention that it's not that all good to jump to android N because it lacks xposed and it's not looking like it will come soon.
I recommend Resurrection Remix
Actually I have Nitrogen rom but is most drain battery withoot wifi, bluetooth and lte. Before i used Krexus (On android 6) and n4 working on battery 2x longer and more stable. I think problem is Nougat.

em...How about FreeOS、Paranoid Android、Resurrection Remix-N ?
Hello, and welcome to the forum!
I personally recommend Paranoid Android (AOSPA) and VertexOS here. FreedomOS and Remix is quite great, but I like the minimalism and utilitarian interface of both AOSPA and VertexOS.

I'm using the kernel built inside the ROM. I don't particularly like changing to custom kernel if the stock kernel of the ROM works well for me.
Sultan lineage os
I highly recommend the unofficial lineage os of sultan.
I've tried aospa and almost every Rom for the op3 and I had the best experience with the sultan's lineage os.
Instal a rom. See how it is. Install other, see how it is. It's about youre taste, what you use, what you like.
[ROM][2017-11-08] AOSPA Extended 7.3.1 [UNIFIED] Oneplus 3(T) rituj26
[ROM][7.1.2]AOSP-CAF for OnePlus 3/3T [Unified][LA.UM.5.8.r1-02900-8x98] by akhilnarang
[ROM] [7.1.2_r29] [ONEPLUS 3 & 3T - UNIFIED] ViperOS v3.0 + B14CKB1RD [OFFICIAL] by marchetto96
[ROM+Kernel][LA.UM.5.5.r1-05300-8x96.0][7.1.1][OFFICIAL]Citrus-CAF[Tangerine][OMS] by PhenomX1998
Resurrection remix (sultanized) for nougat is great
I'll say stock LOS with franco kernel , best battery life and awesome performance also it is having DCPI -3 color space and burn in protection

[discussion] Which Oreo ROM are you running and why

Hello guys ,
I am currently running oos 5.0.1 Oreo and wanted to shift to a custom Oreo ROM for better battery - performance , so wanted to know which rom are you guys using and how its doing with you.
I'm actually running on NOS
I'm back from cypheros test build because it's have too much bugs 5.1
Omni doesn't have new brightness slider and color manager and screen recorder so I'm not going to flash it rn (I'm also feel bloated by many useless apps like matlog music app and other omni apps)
i tried aex, slimm, candy, pixel experience, cosmicos, los 15.1, aicp but they have too much bugs for me (many of them not have system ui crash or system)
oxygen os as 8.0 is too slow for me i can't even fast type with any kernel on xda for oos (also battery life is bad)
I'm staying with Omni/NOS until AOSPA or cypheros gets stable enough to use it for daily driver.

I was searching for DU Oreo builds to try it out and by luck I found it in the description of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVFrUZ9-Krs (Indian review so I didn't watch it.)
I have tested DU and I'm think its slow as Los 15.1 I'm again back to NOS
we should have telegram or whatsapp or xda thread for these discussions.. that'd be great
Omni and nos are the only viable Oreo ROMs. Maybe when they release z unleashed will be great
The only way to get a good DU 8.1 build is to know someone or to build yourself.

I'm actually on aosip.
Its feels stable but only one bug is navbar i can't change it and its too big/black and that hurts my eyes.
camera is really good better than nos IMO.
faster/smoother
i don't know how's battery because i didn't charge my phone to 100% also dash charge doesn't work

Sorry I can´t say. In my device before santoni I was on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, but with santoni I wasn´t satisfied with it. So I stayed at first on Miui Xiaomi.eu 9 but not really satisfied too. With new oreo roms I changed to NITROGEN OS 8.1.0. That´s my way on santoni device...
For Oreo: Its NOS
For Nougat: It's Dot.OS
You must try Invicta OS rom, it's very smooth and stable.
Before this I tried Nitrogen OS (stable) but after reboot finger print didn't work, rest were fine.
Go ahead and try Invicta OS.
Use cardinal aosp rom. Best performance, better battery backup in comparrision of other Oreo roms.
Cardinal aosp is the best Oreo ROM for redmi 4 santoni. Everything is good in this rom. It also supports OTA updates and thanks for the developer for making an awesome rom.

Well I am using Aosp extended Oreo. Although I am facing problems with root. But the smoothness and stability is good. You won't get the same battery life as you get on miui but it's actually not bad.
You can try it out. I am quite satisfied with it but it might affect you if you need root access.
for me pixel experience.

Lol it's pretty much the only bug on oreo but all people keep pointing it out.
