[PORT][APPS]Google Pixel Experience: navigation bar, colors and guide - ONE Themes and Apps

Google Pixel Experience
Navigation bar
The Google Pixel phones have their own phone specefic apps. Also the navigation bar is special made for the Google Pixel phones. Charles Chow made a guide to port the (animated) navigation bar to your phone. To avoid duplication I make this thread where I will make the ported navigation bar available for diffrent roms for the OnePlus One. I will try to make a version for every new build of the Nougat AOSP ROM.
The only thing you need to do is past the apk file in the SystemUI folder (/system/priv-app/SystemUI). Then give it rw-r-r permissions and reboot your device.
Pixel blue colors
To get the new Pixel colors, you need to install a new framework-res.apk. These are also ROM specefic and are available on the download link, given below. To install the new framework-res.apk you need to delete the old first. Go to /system/framework/ and delete the old framework-res.apk. Now copy the new and past it in the /system/framework/ folder. Give it rw-r-r permissions and reboot your device.
I am not responsible for bricked devices or lost data, which can be caused if you don't make a backup first. Every version is ROM (BUILD) and PHONE SPECIFIC!!!
If you rebooted and the app SystemUI keeps crashing, you can also reflash the latest zip in twrp from the ROM you are working on to restore the old systemui.apk.
Single APK downloads
Versions
[ROM][7.1.1_r6] Android Open Source Project | NMF26O [21/12/16]
SystemUI for Nougat AOSP and the framework-res.apk, build 21/12/2016, can be downloaded here. You can download this version of the ROM here.
[ROM][7.1.1_r13] AOSPlusone 7.1 [SultanXDA's Camera HAL][OMS] | 05/02/17
Flashable zip can be downloaded here, also the SystemUI.apk and the framework-res.apk are available here.
Flashable ZIP downloads
Flashable zip to install the full Pixel Experience apps. The zip consists of:
- Google Pixel Camera
- Google Pixel Round Icons
- Google Pixel Wallpaper Picker
- Google Pixel Live Wallpapers
- Google Pixel Contacts
- Google Pixel Launcher
- Google Pixel Messenger
- Google Pixel Navigation Bar
- Google app with Google Pixel Assistant (Change build.prop - guide)
- Google Pixel Blue Colored Rramework
- Google Pixel Bootanimation
- Google Pixel Audio
Somethimes it happens that the live wallpapers are not working. The simple fix for that is to go to the folder /system/app/WallpapersBReel/ and install the apk that is in that folder. The video function of the camera app is not working too. This is a know problem with the Google Camera on the OnePlus One.

I am only working now to give some users the pixel navigation bar. But in the future there will come a full Pixel based ROM, which I make together with Evolitist. In the meantime I can say to you that it is not difficult to give your system the Pixel blue accented collors. The only problem is that it asks a lot of time... So maybe for now I can help you with saying that Substratum is a good theme app and there is also a good Pixel UI theme available.

I will try to make a port to that ROM today. I will send a pm to you to test out if it works. If you don't want to test it out, or don't want to have the risk that your phone doesn't work anymore and you need to reflash the rom with the risk that your data is gone. Well, than it is better to wait until I am sure that it works on that ROM you said and then I can share the apk.

I have created a new framework-res.apk with the Pixel blue colors for [ROM][7.1.1_r6] Android Open Source Project | NMF26O [21/12/16]. You need to be rooted to install this apk. (just like you need to be rooted for my other systemui.apk too)You can download the framework-res.apk here. I hope you enjoy my work! Don't forget to set the permissions to rw-r-r!

Can you please port it to TugaPower 7.1.1 ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-tugapower-0-2rc-t3463157
The lineup of Pixel apps that you've made compatible seems amazing and I'd reaalllllyyy love to have it on this ROM, so please if you could port it to this ROM.

This is great build all round. The Camera is all that needs fixing.

Here's an unofficial Android 5.1 for the Google Nexus 4. No significant modifications, just a plain, good ol' AOSP, which becomes more usable every release. Before we proceed. At this moment, Google has not released binary files for Android 5.1, so I'm using the 5.0.1 ones.
Code:
package aosp;
import disclaimer;
public class AOSP extends Disclaimer {
/**
* Your warranty is now likely void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* spontaneous combustion, or any other host of cosmic penalties
* which may befall you, your family, animals or your phone.
*
*/
public AOSPDisclaimer(){
warranty.set(0);
}
}
Installation
Download the ROM from AndroidFileHost or Mega (mirrors in the second post)
Copy the ROM to your SD Card or launch the adb sideload in the recovery
Install the ROM
Install GAPPs (these are recommended)
Install SuperSU
[*]Install Xposed Framework if you like
Wipe the data if you're coming from other ROMs
Reboot

yeah baby! this is wonderful!!! thx for your hard work!!! i will give it a try today later when i find the time as i am curious if xposed is working on 5.1. the 5 blobs should not be a problem as 5.1 is a small update.
one question. did you find any bugs that might be a deal breaker for some people?
Installed
As far as i used it so far no bugs! great work! Very smooth! :good:
Could it be possible to post a modified settings apk with ambient display?
I know it's not fully functional on the Nexus 4 but however i miss that notification-thing
I appreciate your hardwork sir and want to let you know that I just clean flashed your ROM along with latest PA Gapps and SuperSU v2.46.
ROM flashed successfully but Gapps failed.
TWRP screen shows this package of Gapps is only for 5.0.x and cannot be used with 5.1.
It would really be great if you very kindly take out some more time to keep the good work up.
I'll try to install apk files of Play Svcs and Play Store etc and will see if it works.
As far as I know, 5.1 gapps are not available yet. I will try to create a separate package soon.

Yes, this method works too. Google released new apps though which can be used with 5.1
GPS
Noticed that my GPS isn't working. It just shows the icon in the statusbar and stays there forever (Tested with Google Maps & Android Device Manager)
May be it's not the best time to run 5.1 on mako, at least for me.
Using Nexus Root Toolkit, I have installed apks of Google Play Services, Play Store, Gmail, Google Now Launcher and Google Search but now every time I click on Google Settings or Play Store (even in System Settings --> Accounts--> Add Account--> Google) a pop up persistently appears and says "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped" .
Looks like old apks cannot make friends with new OS version.

How do we change that and can you give me the file you used for Gapps ?
Just flashed android 5.1 and must say it is really a polished build as compared to 5.0 !! First thing is multitasking wohooo !! Seems like you own a new device !! Apps just done seem to close whatever you do how hard a multitasker you are android 5.1 seems to handle this reallylike a champ !! Amazing work thanks eagle eye for getting this stuff rolled out so fast !!
Some things to note
Flash banks gapps minimal ( worked for me ) .Play services will auto update in a few mins and playstore access will be back once the play services auto updates
GPS doesn't work as reported
Rest still to test
Is the "mobile radio active" bug fixed in 5.1?
please tell me the no audio bug is gone! ughhhhhh
Thanks. I will test it

iPhone users be like "why can't google release new versions for all nexus devices at same time even apple can do this"
we are like "google does not release it for our device yet? let's port it!"
good work man
Can anyone edit the Dialer apk to use the updated-lollipop icon instead of the old one?
I've lost recovery while flashing this, also forgot to root with supersu, now I can't get recovery back (twrp requires an app with root support from the playstore).
So, any more feedbacks?

Boot animation Template
As promised earlier on, this is a base template for making an apk of your own boot animations.
I would love to see what you guys can do.
How to use the template
1. Download the project template on GitHub.
CM.12.Bootanimation_Template
Import into Android studio.
2. Set your package name in the android manifest file.
located under \CM.12.Bootanimation_Template\app\src\main\AndroidManifest.xml
HTML:
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.xdagee.cm12bootanimation_template">
...
3. Set your name in string.xml file.
locatated under \CM.12.Bootanimation_Template\app\src\main\res\values\strings.xml
HTML:
<resources>
<string name="theme_name">Your Bootanimation</string>
<string name="theme_author">your name</string>
<string name="theme_email">[email protected]</string>
</resources>
4. Now copy your bootanimation.zip (rename into bootanimation.zip if you havent already) to \CM.12.Bootanimation_Template\app\src\main\assets\bootanimation\.
5. Now rebuild and generate your apk.
6. You are done :good:, upload and share them here ...

@TtWEAK I dont know what you want me to do but this is a video file and I have no idea of making videos to bootanimation. Though I could see that it follows the same concept I will try and read a little more about it. Or unless you tell me what to do.
It worked before when I swapped it out for the bootanimation in system/media but in either CM11 or CM12 that no longer worked.
So I was hoping it could be converted into a boot animation for the theme engine. I didn't really think about it being the video files inside being the culprit. That makes me feel a little bit better about not being able to get it to work no matter what I tried, although I'm just a tinkerer so I was hoping it was possible but if not I appreciate the effort.

Make sure you have latest TWRP Recovery if you don't you will have to flash the custom recovery with odin.
Download Latest TWRP Here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634771826
Step 3:
Download the InspireKat ROM v1.0 Zip from the Downloads Section and save it somewhere on your device or better your computer. Please follow these next steps carefully (THIS IS A FLASHABLE ROM)! Please make sure you fully wipe your device upon install this means data, cache, system, dalvick cache. then go to the mount menu if you use twrp and make sure mount system is unchecked.
Step 4:
Boot into twrp recovery and then click on the install option. If you don't see the ROM file try changing the storage location. You will now see the InspireKat ROM v1.0 Release file and click on that and swipe to install InspireKat ROM v1.0 on your Tab 3 SM-T210R. Please wait up to 10 minutes for ROM to install and once you are finished you can reboot and now you will be booting up InspireKat ROM on your Tab 3 SM-T210R.
Step 5:
Allow up to 10 minutes for the ROM to install it will take a while because our tablet doesn't have that fast of a processor. You may notice that the boot animation will probably lag so don't worry because this happens on first boot up because everything is getting setup which uses all of the processor. Every other time you boot the tablet up it won't lag so you don't have to worry. Once you are booted up setup the ROM as usual and you are golden. If you want to flash any other addon/mods or even the inspirekat full package you can do so once you are done setting up your tablet with the ROM. Please check FAQ if you have any minor issues and if you need further help just message me on this thread or email me with my email that is in the contact section.

InspireKat is based on USA Firmware
@JT1510365 it would be really awesome if you could make a systemui with wifi & data to the left, center clock, and 3minit battery
Thanks for another ROM. I hadn't checked in a while, but I'm glad to see you still working for this tablet. Keep up the good work.

Hello everyone so just a quick update of my own personal life
I have been very busy with my family and my job at kroger and I just found out that my family and I are moving to a new house
Because of that my android development time has not been doing so great
I will try to keep my rom updates going but just know that I don't have a lot of time on my hands
InspireKat v1.3 is coming very soon and I will be adding more rom addons/mods including 3minit battery

FirstEver Android 8.1 for Nexus 5 (10-01-2018)
Mod Edit
This is my new project dedicated to all Nexus 5 users!
It is based on unofficial Unlegacy Android Project 8.1 Beta.
I’m not a great programmer, but I know how to achieve my goals.
The goal is to reproduce the Google Pixel 2 system.
This ROM contains some useful tools that can be easily uninstalled.
Before we start:
Please ignore all posts from #1 to #93 because they concern an earlier unfinished Android 8.0 Project.
From now on, the first post is #94. If the moderator can clear this thread, I would be very grateful.
What does UBR stand for?
The letters UBR stand for Update By Recovery.
This is a very non conventional way of flashing - a bit crazy/extreme like me :silly:
This backup does not contain the EFS partition which holds your personal IMEI number,
that's why you can use it on any Nexus 5 phone!
Why you should install this ROM?
+ Really easy flash by swiping only one button in TWRP!
+ Quick Installation (it usually takes 3 minutes)
+ It works instantly after reboot
+ If the phone is not damaged it will always work
+ It looks like Google Pixel 2 from the box (in 99%)
+ It has extra functions that can be uninstalled (Magisk etc)
– It has a 4 times larger installation file than standard flashable ROM
– Other applications from your Google account will need to be installed manually
What's under the hood?
Super Smooth Android 8.1 based on AOSP
Flash Friendly File System (F2FS)
Google Apps 8.1 Installed
[*]Magisk 15.2 Installed
SafetyNet Check Passed
WakeBlock Installed
Google Lens
Google Adaptive Icons
Unlimited Google Drive storage (before 16 Jan 2021)*
True Stereo Sound (Left/Right channel)
Google Pixel 2 Live Wallpapers**
Rounded Screen Corner
Boot time only 20 sec (Power Button to Home Screen)
* Free for Pixel devices - Google can block it in the future.
** Some live wallpapers from Pixel 2 won't work.
Mod Edit
The size of the project is 1.31GB - why it is so BIG?
This contains: ROM (298 MB) + OpenGApps Nano (141 MB) + Other Modules/Mods+ Other Google apps.
After installation you can remove all unwanted apps including Magisk (Unroot).
Please DO NOT uninstall Google Gboard App, unless you have other keyboard app installed !!!

I also wanted to ask if someone know how to activate Pixel Navbar on Lineage 15.0 - Google found nothing
Pixel Navbar for Lineage 14.1 won't flash.
[OT 1] Google Phone/Messages apps will use Adaptive Icons (it will be similar to Google Maps on my picture).
[OT 2] Is there any new Google Camera / Camera NX app for Nexus 5 ARM (not ARM64)?
[OT 3] SafetyNet Check test passes randomly - do you have the same problem? (Magisk 14.3)
[OT 4] I will try to upload 400GB (my personal images/videos) to Google Drive from my Nexus 5 - LOL
I'm ready to flash this!
Today I got permission from tathanhlam66 to use his Lineage 15 ROM - Thanks!
I gonna try this rom, when it's ready.
Looks great!
Waiting for the zip eagerly.

Great work by both developers @tathanhlam66 & @FirstEver ....can't wait to try on my own nexus 5
Are you sure you can include gapps in your custom rom? The last time I read, it was against Google's guidelines.
Excited for the rom, will try it out on weekend.

I have one bad news - file size is 1.32GB

The previous one is better.. I don't want 1.32 GB!! How is it sooo big?
Oooooh nice...waiting for it
Hope you fix that size issue before the release date
I'm waiting for it
Could you post a build also without any Google app? I'm used to use MicroG in their place and close to no other G app. Moreover, my bandwidth in 4G/WiFi is limited, I can't download such a big ROM. Please post two builds and let users decide what they want to use. Anyway thank you for this work

Did you basically backup the unlegacy rom after editing it? But you can not take the system and simply create an update script flashable ?

How do you want to update partitions from ext4 to f2fs by using flashable ZIP?
My UBR (Update By Recovery) is the best solution for beginners, because most people do not read the instructions.
Example (last comment on my website): WiFi doesn't work - please help/fix it!
This is not a bug, you have not updated the TWRP Recovery to version 3.2.1-1 = you have not read the instructions!
You can have the pixel navbar w/o xposed: https://chromloop.com/2016/11/guide-how-to-port-pixel-navigation-bar-animation-to-your-phone/. I'm not sure if it will work with oreo since the guide is for 7.1.2.

Thanks, I will try it, but now I am using Xposed module for Pixel Navbar, unfortunately it breaks the SafetyNet.
You can choose between Pixel Navbar and SafetyNet. To pass the SafetyNet open Xposed Installer app and uninstall it.
KDCloudy's review on YouTube - thanks!

I don't think XDA or most of the forums have an option to delete any post or thread they can only close it. Any reason for deleting the thread? But cause of that you shouldn't stop posting it here.
Issues I have been facing after using it for a week:
1. Poor Bluetooth call quality
2. Random apps crashing (Google Maps/Twitter/Kindle)
3. Random slowness & lags
4. Volume/sound is very low
How do I turn off mobile data without unlocking my lock screen?
---------- Post added at 15:07 ---------- Previous post was at 15:04 ----------
@FirstEver How will we know when new update is available and what are the changes done?
Lag every second.
Excellent!
I've just recovered an old nexus 5 that was in bootloop and installed this rom, and I've never seen this phone working with such a charm, the only downside is the battery, I don't know if disabling automatic brightness is making a big difference, but I see a little gain in it.
Only question I have is how do you update to the newest version? I have the January version and wanted to update to the February without erasing any of my data of course.
Thanks a lot for the easy install and for this amazing rom!
Ps: I have to admit it does crash some apps sometimes, but nothing to worry.
it looks awesome i will try soon
great rom I would like to know how you do to change the font to this rom, since it is not the default one. could you tell me?
How's the in-call volume? Last time I tried an oreo rom in-call volume was non-adjustable and very quiet. In Most of N5 oreo rom volume is super quiet.
It should be fine by default, not ask us to fix it ourselves.
What about Substratum support?
Is NFC working? May quick charge be achieved with flashing DU kernel?
Can anyone post download links please?
